‘There is always a danger of the 4th outbreak’-Tánaiste.

The Tánaiste said that there is still a danger that Ireland will see the 4th outbreak of the crown virus, especially as there is now a new variant from India spreading with it.
Dúirt an Tánaiste go bhfuil an baol ann i gcónaí go bhfeicfidh Éirinn an 4ú ráig den choróinvíreas, go háirithe ó tá athraitheach nua anois ann ón India ag leathadh leis.
He was speaking on the RTÉ radio program, ‘This Week’.
Bhí sé ag labhairt ar an gclár raidió de chuid RTÉ, ‘This Week’.
‘The 3rd outbreak was caused by a new variable after last Christmas’ he said.
‘Athraitheach nua ba chúis leis an 3ú ráig i ndiaidh na Nollag seo caite’ a dúirt sé.
‘The difference now, however, is that we have a vaccination program in place, but we still have only 20% of the population fully vaccinated,’ said the Tánaiste.
‘An difríocht anois áfach go bhfuil clár vacsaínithe curtha sa tsiúl againn, ach níl ach 20 faoin gcéad den phobal vacsaínithe go hiomlán againn fós’ a dúirt an Tánaiste.
‘60% of the population is expected to be protected by the end of July’.

He said the Government would conduct a review at the end of June, before taking the decision to further relax restrictions in July.
