Fishermen’s Market Failure – Killybegs Fishermen’s Association.

The Killybegs Fishermen’s Association is disappointed with the Brexit deal and is of the view that written warrants issued to Irish fishermen have not been complied with.

In a statement, Association Chief Executive Sean O’Donoghue said the negotiations were of a dishonest nature.

“Despite huge efforts to tackle the imbalance for several days, the market has not changed much and the mackerel industry could be hit hard.

The Killybegs Fishermen’s Association stated that it hopes that the Irish Government will provide appropriate compensation by transferring mackerel quotas from other European Union countries, which have not been hit so badly.
