Decision not to charge soldiers about Bloody Sunday.

Cinneadh gan saighdiúirí a chúisiú faoi Dhomhnach na Fola.

Relatives of those killed on Bloody Sunday in Derry in 1972 are to challenge the decision not to prosecute fifteen soldiers for the events of that day.

Tá gaolta na ndaoine a maraíodh Domhnach na Fola i nDoire sa bhliain 1972 le dúshlán dlíthiúil a thabhairt maidir leis an chinneadh gan an dlí a chur ar chúig shaighdiúir déag faoi eachtraí an lae sin.

Following an internal review by the Public Prosecution Service in the North, it was said this morning that they do not have enough evidence to have a reasonable chance of convicting any of the soldiers.

I ndiaidh don tSeirbhís Ionchúiseamh Poiblí sa Tuaisceart athbhreithniú inmheánach a dhéanamh, dúradh ar maidin nach bhfuil go leor fianaise acu le go mbeadh seans réasúnta ann go gciontófaí aon duine de na saighdiúirí.

Fourteen civilians – mostly juveniles – were killed and killed by the British Army in the city of Derry on 30 January 1972.

Chaith agus mharaigh Arm na Breataine ceithre shibhialtach déag – ógánaigh a bhformhór – i gcathair Dhoire 30 Eanáir 1972.

They were killed and fourteen others injured when soldiers from the paratroop regiment fired at a crowd taking part in a civil rights march.

Maraíodh iad agus gortaíodh ceithre dhuine dhéag eile nuair a scaoil saighdiúirí ó reisimint na bparatrúpaí le slua a bhí ag glacadh páirte i máirseáil cearta sibhialta.

The British Government apologized to the relatives of the dead in 2010 for the massacre after Saville’s investigation criticized the soldiers’ actions saying they were unjustified.

Ghabh Rialtas na Breataine leithscéal le gaolta na marbh sa bhliain 2010 as an sléacht i ndiaidh dfhiorsúchán Saville gniomhartha na saighdiúirí a cháineadh á rá nach raibh aon údar leo.

Despite today ‘s decision, the trial of one of the soldiers – so – called Soldier F – charged with the murders of two men – James Wray and William McKinney – and an attempt to murder five others will continue.

Ainneoin chinneadh an lae inniu, leanfar le triail duine de na saighdiúirí – Saighdiúir F mar a thugtar air – atá cúisithe i dúnmharú beirte – James Wray agus William McKinney – agus in iarracht cúigear eile a dhúnmharú.
