14 days of self-isolation must ‘become law’ – immunologist.

Caithfidh féin-aonrú 14 lá bheith ina dhlí – imdhíoneolaí.

An immunology expert says the Government needs to find some way to bring the 14-day self-isolation for people traveling to Ireland, into the legislation.

Deir saineolaí imdhíoneolaíochta go gcaithfidh an Rialtas bealach éigin a aimsiú a chuirfeadh an féin-aonrú 14 lá do dhaoine ag taisteal go hÉirinn, isteach sa reachtaíocht.

Kingston Mills, Professor of Experimental Immunology at Trinity College, says that being able to apply the quarantine is essential.

Deir Kingston Mills, an tOllamh Imdhíoneolaíochta Turgnamhaí i gColáiste na Tríonóide go bhfuil sé riachtanach bheith in ann an coraintín a chur i bhfeidhm.

Part of the problem with self-isolation is that it is not in the legislation.

Cuid den fhadhb leis an bhféin-aonrú é nach bhfuil sé sa reachtaíocht.

But Kingston Mills says the Government’s advice on travel is clear, and that no travel must be necessary.

Ach deir Kingston Mills go bhfuil comhairle an Rialtais faoi thaisteal soiléir, agus nach mór aon taisteal bheith riachtanach.

He also says that no one can say that they are not clear about the advice.

Deir sé freisin nach féidir le haon duine a rá nach bhfuil siad soiléir faoin gcomhairle.

Referring to a talk by author and broadcaster Mary Kenny, Kingston Mills says it is disappointing that she compared Covid-19 to influenza.

Agus é ag tagairt do chaint a rinne an t-údar agus craoltóir Mary Kenny, deir Kingston Mills gur cúis díomá é gur chuir sí Covid- 19 i gcomparáid leis an bhfliú.

He encouraged her to watch an RTÉ program about St. James’s Hospital to see ‘the truth of this virus’.

Mhol sé di breathnú ar chlár RTÉ faoi Ospidéal San Séamus chun fírinne an víris seo a fheiceáil.
