Two young women rescued by fishermen in Galway.

Two young women who have been missing in Galway Bay since last night have been found alive.

Tá beirt ban óga a bhí ar iarraidh i gCuan na Gaillimhe ó aréir faighte ina mbeatha.

The two cousins, Ellen Glynn and Sara Feeney, were caught by local fishermen holding a buoy attached to a lobster pot.

Iascairí áitiúla a tháinig ar an mbeirt chol ceathrar, Ellen Glynn agus Sara Feeney, agus greim acu ar bhaoi a bhí ceangailte de phota gliomaigh.

The two, aged 17 and 23, went to sea on small surfboards off Forbach beach at 9.30 last night.

Patrick and Morgan Oliver It is understood that the fishermen – Patrick Oliver and his son Morgan – found the pair of women in the sea 17 miles from Forbacha beach and two miles south of Inis Oírr at around noon.

They had spent 15 hours in the water.

Ellen and Sara are being treated at Galway University Hospital and are said to be well.
