Online meetings by Conradh na Gaeilge with elected representatives.

Cruinnithe ar líne ag Conradh na Gaeilge le hionadaithe tofa.

North West Reporter Representatives from Conradh na Gaeilge and the language sector met online with 40 public venues today.

Tuairisceoir an Iarthuaiscirt Bhí cruinnithe ar líne ag ionadaithe ó Chonradh na Gaeilge agus ó earnáil na teanga le 40 ionad poiblí inniu.

The meetings were related to the organization ‘s annual campaign

Bhain na cruinnithe le feachtas bliantúil na heagraíochta a dtugann siad #SEAS air.

The Conradh says in a statement that they currently have three major demands on the language.

Deir an Conradh i ráiteas go bhfuil trí mhóréileamh acu maidir leis an teanga faoi láthair.

These are additional funding of at least € 15 million for the Irish language and the Gaeltacht in Budget 2021; Languages Bill which would ensure a full Irish language service from the State by 2030; and a housing policy for the Gaeltacht as well as an education policy for Irish from pre – school to university.

Sin iad maoiniú breise €15 milliún ar a laghad don Ghaeilge agus don Ghaeltacht i mBuiséad 2021; Bille Teangacha a chinnteodh seirbhís iomlán Ghaeilge ón Stát faoin bhliain 2030; agus polasaí tithíochta don Ghaeltacht mar aon le polasaí oideachais don Ghaeilge ón réamhscoil go dtí an ollscoil.

According to the organization, Údarás na Gaeltachta needs additional funding to create employment and to enable it to develop its language planning policies.

Dar leis an eagraíocht go bhfuil maoiniú breise ag teastáil ó Údarás na Gaeltachta le fostaíocht a chruthú agus ionas gur féidir leo a bpolasaithe pleanála teanga a fhorbairt.

The Conradh also calls for the use of additional funding for Foras na Gaeilge for projects such as the Irish Language Community Scheme agreed by 80 Irish language and Gaeltacht groups.

Tá an Conradh ag iarraidh fosta go mbainfí leas as maoiniú breise d’Fhoras na Gaeilge le haghaidh tograí cosúil leis an Scéim Pobail Ghaeilge atá aontaithe ag 80 grúpa Gaeilge agus Gaeltachta,.

There is a need, they say, for a stronger Languages Bill which would aim for 20% of the country ‘s civil servants to be Irish speakers and for all State services to be available in Irish to the Gaeltacht community by 2030.

Tá gá, a deir siad, le Bille Teangacha níos láidre a mbeadh sé mar sprioc ann gur cainteoirí Gaeilge a bheadh i 20 faoin gcéad de státseirbhísigh na tíre agus go mbeadh gach seirbhís Stáit ar fáil i nGaeilge do phobal na Gaeltachta faoin bhliain 2030.
