Revelation 2

1 And to the angel of the church in Sardis say: These things says he who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: I have knowledge of your works, that you seem to be living but are dead.

1 “Scríobh go dtí aingeal na heaglaise i Sairdis: ‘Mar seo a deir an té ag a bhfuil seacht spiorad Dé agus na seacht réalta: Is eol dom d'oibreacha, go bhfuil tú in ainm a bheith beo, ach gur marbh thú.

2 Be on the watch, and make strong the rest of the things which are near to death; because as judged by me your works have not come up to God's measure.

2 Dúisigh agus neartaigh a bhfuil fágtha agus ar tí báis, óir ní bhfuair mé d'oibreacha foirfe os comhair mo Dhé.

3 Keep in mind, then, the teaching which was given to you, and be ruled by it and have a change of heart. If then you do not keep watch, I will come like a thief, and you will have no knowledge of the hour when I will come on you.

3 Cuimhnigh más ea cad a ghlac tú agus a chuala tú, agus coinnigh do ghreim agus déan aithrí. Mura ndúisí tú, tiocfaidh mé mar ghadaí agus ní bheidh a fhios agat cén uair a thiocfaidh mé ort.

4 But you have some names in Sardis who have kept clean their robes; and as a reward they will go in white with me.

4 Ach tá beagán agat i Sairdis, daoine nár shalaigh a n‑éidí; agus siúlóidh siad faram in éidí geala óir is fiú iad é.

5 He who overcomes will be dressed in white, and I will not take his name from the book of life, and I will give witness to his name before my Father, and before his angels.

5 An té a bheireann bua beidh sé gléasta mar sin in éidí geala, agus ní scriosfaidh mé a ainm as leabhar na beatha, agus admhóidh mé a ainm os comhair m'athar agus os comhair a aingeal.

6 He who has ears, let him give ear to what the Spirit says to the churches.

6 An té a bhfuil cluas air, éisteadh sé lena bhfuil á rá ag an Spiorad leis na heaglaisí.” Filideilfia

7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia say: These things says he who is holy, he who is true, he who has the key of David, opening the door so that it may be shut by no one, and shutting it so that it may be open to no one.

7 “Scríobh go dtí aingeal na heaglaise i bhFilideilfia: ‘Mar seo a deir an té is naofa, an té is fírinneach, an té ag a bhfuil eochair Dháiví, an té a osclaíonn agus nach ndúnann aon duine:

8 I have knowledge of your works (see, I have put before you an open door which may be shut by no one), and that you have a little strength, and have kept my word, and have been true to my name.

8 Is eol dom d'oibreacha. Féach! chuir mé doras ar leathadh romhat, nach féidir d'aon duine a dhúnadh, óir is beag é an neart atá agat ach choinnigh tú m'fhocal agus níor shéan tú m'ainm.

8 Yo conozco tus obras: he aquí, he dado una puerta abierta delante de ti, la cual ninguno puede cerrar; porque tienes un poco de potencia, y has guardado mi palabra, y no has negado mi nombre.

9 See, I will make those of the Synagogue of Satan who say they are Jews, and are not, but say what is false; I will make them come and give worship before your feet, and see my love for you.

9 Féach! tabharfaidh mé do shionagóg Shátain iad siúd a deir gur Giúdaigh iad féin agus nach ea, ach gur bréag dóibh sin, agus, féach, cuirfidh mé iallach orthu teacht agus sléachtadh ag do chosa agus a thuiscint go bhfuil grá agam duit.

10 Because you have kept my word in quiet strength, I will keep you from the hour of testing which is coming on all the world, to put to the test those who are on earth.

10 De bhrí gur choinnigh tú focal m'fhoighne, coinneoidh mise thusa ó uair an chathaithe, atá le teacht ar an domhan go léir, chun lucht áitrithe an domhain a phromhadh.

11 I come quickly: keep that which you have, so that no one may take your crown.

11 Ní fada go dtiocfaidh mé; coinnigh do ghreim ar a bhfuil agat, i dtreo nach sciobfadh aon duine do choróin.

11 Siehe, ich komme bald; halte, was du hast, daß niemand deine Krone nehme!

12 Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the house of my God, and he will go out no more: and I will put on him the name of my God, and the name of the town of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God, and my new name.

12 An té a bheireann bua, déanfaidh mé colún de i dteampall mo Dhé, agus ní rachaidh sé amach go deo arís; agus scríobhfaidh mé ainm mo Dhé air, agus ainm cathrach mo Dhé, an Iarúsailéim Nua, a thiocfaidh anuas ó neamh ó mo Dhia, agus m'ainm nua féin.

13 He who has ears, let him give ear to what the Spirit says to the churches.

13 An té a bhfuil cluas air le héisteacht, éisteadh sé lena bhfuil á rá ag an Spiorad leis na heaglaisí.”

14 And to the angel of the church in Laodicea say: These things says the true and certain witness, the head of God's new order:

14 “Scríobh go dtí aingeal na heaglaise i Láoidícéa: ‘Mar seo a deir an tAmen, an finné dílis fírinneach, céadtús chruthúnas Dé.

15 I have knowledge of your works, that you are not cold or warm: it would be better if you were cold or warm.

15 Is eol dom d'oibreacha, nach fuar thú agus nach te.

16 So because you are not one thing or the other, I will have no more to do with you.

16 De bhrí go bhfuil tú alabhog, gan a bheith fuar ná te, táim chun tú a sceitheadh as mo bhéal amach.

17 For you say, I have wealth, and have got together goods and land, and have need of nothing; and you are not conscious of your sad and unhappy condition, that you are poor and blind and without clothing.

17 Óir deir tú: “Táim saibhir, táim faoi chonách, níl aon easpa orm”; agus gan a fhios agat go bhfuil tú dearóil, truamhéileach, bocht, dall, gan éadach.

17 Porque tú dices: Yo soy rico, y estoy enriquecido, y no tengo necesidad de ninguna cosa; y no conoces que tú eres un cuitado y miserable y pobre y ciego y desnudo;

18 If you are wise you will get from me gold tested by fire, so that you may have true wealth; and white robes to put on, so that your shame may not be seen; and oil for your eyes, so that you may see.

18 Comhairlím duit ór a cheannach uaim atá profa sa tine, chun go mbeifeá saibhir; agus éidí geala le cur ort chun nár léir náire do bhall nocht; agus uinnimint le do shúile a ungadh chun go mbeadh radharc agat.

19 To all those who are dear to me, I give sharp words and punishment: then with all your heart have sorrow for your evil ways.

19 An lucht dá dtugaim grá, ceartaím agus smachtaím; bí díograiseach, uime sin, agus déan aithrí.

20 See, I am waiting at the door and giving the sign; if my voice comes to any man's ears and he makes the door open, I will come in to him, and will take food with him and he with me.

20 Seo mé i mo sheasamh ag an doras, agus ag bualadh air; má chloiseann aon duine mo ghuth agus an doras a oscailt dom, tiocfaidh mé isteach chuige agus beidh bia agam fairis agus aigesean faramsa.

21 To him who overcomes I will give a place with me on my high seat, even as I overcame, and am seated with my Father on his high seat.

21 An té a bheireann bua, tabharfaidh mé cead dó suí taobh liom i mo ríchathaoir, faoi mar a bhí an bua agamsa agus gur shuigh mé taobh le m'athair ina ríchathaoir.

22 He who has ears, let him give ear to what the Spirit says to the churches.

22 An té a bhfuil cluas air, éisteadh sé lena bhfuil á rá ag an Spiorad leis na heaglaisí.’ ”
