1 I who am myself one of the rulers of the church, and a witness of the death of Christ, having my part in the coming glory, send this serious request to the chief men among you:
1 Voici les exhortations que j'adresse aux anciens qui sont parmi vous, moi ancien comme eux, témoin des souffrances de Christ, et participant de la gloire qui doit être manifestée:

1 RUEGO á los ancianos que están entre vosotros, yo anciano también con ellos, y testigo de las afliciciones de Cristo, que soy también participante de la gloria que ha de ser revelada:
1 Die Ältesten, so unter euch sind, ermahne ich, der Mitälteste und Zeuge der Leiden, die in Christo sind, und auch teilhaftig der Herrlichkeit, die offenbart werden soll:
2 Keep watch over the flock of God which is in your care, using your authority, not as forced to do so, but gladly; and not for unclean profit but with a ready mind;
2 Paissez le troupeau de Dieu qui est sous votre garde, non par contrainte, mais volontairement, selon Dieu; non pour un gain sordide, mais avec dévouement;
2 Déanaigí tréad Dé atá faoi bhur gcúram a aoireacht; ná tugaigí aire dó le foréigean ach le fonn, mar is toil le Dia, ná le dúil tháir san airgead ach le dúthracht,
2 Apacentad la grey de Dios que está entre vosotros, teniendo cuidado de ella, no por fuerza, sino voluntariamente; no por ganancia deshonesta, sino de un ánimo pronto;
2 Weidet die Herde Christi, die euch befohlen ist und sehet wohl zu, nicht gezwungen, sondern willig; nicht um schändlichen Gewinns willen, sondern von Herzensgrund;
3 Not as lords over God's heritage, but making yourselves examples to the flock.
3 non comme dominant sur ceux qui vous sont échus en partage, mais en étant les modèles du troupeau.
3 ná ag tiarnú orthu siúd atá faoi bhur gcúram ach in bhur samplaí don tréad.
3 Y no como teniendo señorío sobre las heredades del Señor, sino siendo dechados de la grey.
3 nicht als übers Volk herrschen, sondern werdet Vorbilder der Herde.
4 And at the coming of the chief Keeper of the sheep, you will be given the eternal crown of glory.
4 Et lorsque le souverain pasteur paraîtra, vous obtiendrez la couronne incorruptible de la gloire.
4 Ansin nuair a fhoilseofar an tArdaoire tabharfar daoibh coróin mharthanach na glóire.
4 Y cuando apareciere el Príncipe de los pastores, vosotros recibiréis la corona incorruptible de gloria.
4 So werdet ihr, wenn erscheinen wird der Erzhirte, die unverwelkliche Krone der Ehren empfangen.
5 And in the same way, let the younger men be ruled by the older ones. Let all of you put away pride and make yourselves ready to be servants: for God is a hater of pride, but he gives grace to those who make themselves low.
5 De mêmes, vous qui êtes jeunes, soyez soumis aux anciens. Et tous, dans vos rapports mutuels, revêtez-vous d'humilité; car Dieu résiste aux orgueilleux, Mais il fait grâce aux humbles.
5 Mar an gcéanna libhse is óige ná sin, bígí umhal do na seanóirí. Cuirigí umaibh, gach duine agaibh, an umhlaíocht i leith a chéile, mar “cuireann Dia in aghaidh lucht an uabhair, ach bronnann sé a ghrásta ar lucht na humhlaíochta.”
5 Igualmente, mancebos, sed sujetos á los ancianos; y todos sumisos unos á otros, revestíos de humildad; porque Dios resiste á los soberbios, y da gracia á los humildes.
5 Desgleichen, ihr Jüngeren, seid untertan den Ältesten. Allesamt seid untereinander untertan und haltet fest an der Demut. Denn Gott widersteht den Hoffärtigen, aber den Demütigen gibt er Gnade.
6 For this cause make yourselves low under the strong hand of God, so that when the time comes you may be lifted up;
6 Humiliez-vous donc sous la puissante main de Dieu, afin qu'il vous élève au temps convenable;
6 Umhlaígí sibh féin dá bhrí sin faoi láimh chumhachtach Dé ionas go n‑ardódh sé sibh i dtráth.
6 Humillaos pues bajo la poderosa mano de Dios, para que él os ensalce cuando fuere tiempo;
6 So demütiget euch nun unter die gewaltige Hand Gottes, daß er euch erhöhe zu seiner Zeit.
7 Putting all your troubles on him, for he takes care of you.
7 et déchargez-vous sur lui de tous vos soucis, car lui-même prend soin de vous.
7 Caithigí bhur gcúram go léir suas air, óir tugann sé aire daoibh.
7 Echando toda vuestra solicitud en él, porque él tiene cuidado de vosotros.
7 Alle Sorge werfet auf ihn; denn er sorgt für euch.
8 Be serious and keep watch; the Evil One, who is against you, goes about like a lion with open mouth in search of food;
8 Soyez sobres, veillez. Votre adversaire, le diable, rôde comme un lion rugissant, cherchant qui il dévorera.
8 Bígí measartha agus déanaigí faire, mar tá bhur n‑áibhirseoir, an diabhal, ag gabháil timpeall mar a bheadh leon ag búiríl ar thóir dhuine éigin le slogadh.
8 Sed templados, y velad; porque vuestro adversario el diablo, cual león rugiente, anda alrededor buscando á quien devore:
8 Seid nüchtern und wachet; denn euer Widersacher, der Teufel, geht umher wie ein brüllender Löwe und sucht, welchen er verschlinge.
9 Do not give way to him but be strong in your faith, in the knowledge that your brothers who are in the world undergo the same troubles.
9 Résistez-lui avec une foi ferme, sachant que les mêmes souffrances sont imposées à vos frères dans le monde.
9 Seasaigí an fód ina aghaidh agus sibh daingean sa chreideamh, agus a fhios agaibh go bhfuil sé i ndán do bhur mbráithre ar fud an domhain na nithe céanna a fhulaingt.
9 Al cual resistid firmes en la fe, sabiendo que las mismas aflicciones han de ser cumplidas en la compañía de vuestros hermanos que están en el mundo.
9 Dem widerstehet, fest im Glauben, und wisset, daß ebendieselben Leiden über eure Brüder in der Welt gehen.
10 And after you have undergone pain for a little time, the God of all grace who has given you a part in his eternal glory through Christ Jesus, will himself give you strength and support, and make you complete in every good thing;
10 Le Dieu de toute grâce, qui vous a appelés en Jésus Christ à sa gloire éternelle, après que vous aurez souffert un peu de temps, vous perfectionnera lui-même, vous affermira, vous fortifiera, vous rendra inébranlables.
10 Ansin, Dia na ngrást uile a ghlaoigh oraibh chun a ghlóire féin i gCríost, nuair a bheidh an beagán fulaingthe agaibh, déanfaidh sé sibh a athnuachan, a dhaingniú, a neartú, agus bonn a chuir fúibh.
10 Mas el Dios de toda gracia, que nos ha llamado á su gloria eterna por Jesucristo, después que hubiereis un poco de tiempo padecido, él mismo os perfeccione, coforme, corrobore y establezca.
10 Der Gott aber aller Gnade, der uns berufen hat zu seiner ewigen Herrlichkeit in Christo Jesu, der wird euch, die ihr eine kleine Zeit leidet, vollbereiten, stärken, kräftigen, gründen.
11 His is the power for ever. So be it.
11 A lui soit la puissance aux siècles des siècles! Amen!
11 Glóir agus réimeas dó le saol na saol. Amen.
11 A él sea gloria é imperio para siempre. Amén.
11 Ihm sei Ehre und Macht von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit! Amen.
12 I have sent you this short letter by Silvanus, a true brother, in my opinion; comforting you and witnessing that this is the true grace of God; keep to it.
12 C'est par Silvain, qui est à mes yeux un frère fidèle, que je vous écris ce peu de mots, pour vous exhorter et pour vous attester que la grâce de Dieu à laquelle vous êtes attachés est la véritable.
12 Tá scríofa agam chugaibh i mbeagán focal le cabhair Silveánas, bráthair dílis, dar liom, á thathant oraibh agus á áiteamh oraibh gurb é seo fíorghrásta Dé; cloígí leis.
12 Por Silvano, el hermano fiel, según yo pienso, os he escrito brevemente, amonestándo os, y testificando que ésta es la verdadera gracia de Dios, en la cual estáis.
12 Durch euren treuen Bruder Silvanus (wie ich achte) habe ich euch ein wenig geschrieben, zu ermahnen und zu bezeugen, daß das die rechte Gnade Gottes ist, darin ihr stehet.
13 She who is in Babylon, who has a part with you in the purpose of God, sends you her love; and so does my son Mark.
13 L'Église des élus qui est à Babylone vous salue, ainsi que Marc, mon fils.
13 Í siúd atá sa Bhablóin, agus a toghadh faoi mar a toghadh sibhse, beannaíonn sí daoibh, rud a dhéanann Marcas mo mhac chomh maith.
13 La iglesia que está en Babilonia, juntamente elegida con vosotros, os saluda, y Marcos mi hijo.
13 Es grüßen euch, die samt euch auserwählt sind zu Babylon, und mein Sohn Markus.
14 Give one another the kiss of love. Peace be to you all in Christ.
14 Saluez-vous les uns les autres par un baiser d'affection. Que la paix soit avec vous tous qui êtes en Christ!
