1 So then, my child, be strong in the grace which is in Christ Jesus.

11 This is a true saying: If we undergo death with him, then will we be living with him:

14 Solches erinnere sie und bezeuge vor dem HERRN, daß sie nicht um Worte zanken, welches nichts nütze ist denn zu verkehren, die da zuhören.
15 Let it be your care to get the approval of God, as a workman who has no cause for shame, giving the true word in the right way.
15 Efforce-toi de te présenter devant Dieu comme un homme éprouvé, un ouvrier qui n'a point à rougir, qui dispense droitement la parole de la vérité.

16 But take no part in wrong and foolish talk, for those who do so will go farther into evil,

19 But God's strong base is unchanging, having this sign, The Lord has knowledge of those who are his: and, Let everyone by whom the name of the Lord is named be turned away from evil.
19 Néanmoins, le solide fondement de Dieu reste debout, avec ces paroles qui lui servent de sceau: Le Seigneur connaît ceux qui lui appartiennent; et: Quiconque prononce le nom du Seigneur, qu'il s'éloigne de l'iniquité.

19 Pero el fundamento de Dios está firme, teniendo este sello: Conoce el Señor á los que son suyos; y: Apártese de iniquidad todo aquel que invoca el nombre de Cristo.
19 Aber der feste Grund Gottes besteht und hat dieses Siegel: Der HERR kennt die seinen; und: Es trete ab von Ungerechtigkeit, wer den Namen Christi nennt.
20 Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but others of wood and earth, and some which are honoured and some without honour.
20 Dans une grande maison, il n'y a pas seulement des vases d'or et d'argent, mais il y en a aussi de bois et de terre; les uns sont des vases d'honneur, et les autres sont d'un usage vil.
20 Ní árthaí óir agus airgid amháin a bhíonn i dteach mór ach árthaí adhmaid agus árthaí cré chomh maith. Bíonn feidhm uasal le cuid acu sin agus feidhm anuasal le cuid eile.
20 Mas en una casa grande, no solamente hay vasos de oro y de plata, sino también de madera y de barro: y asimismo unos para honra, y otros para deshonra.
20 In einem großen Hause aber sind nicht allein goldene und silberne Gefäße, sondern auch hölzerne und irdene, und etliche zu Ehren, etliche aber zu Unehren.
21 If a man makes himself clean from these, he will be a vessel for honour, made holy, ready for the master's use, ready for every good work.
21 Si donc quelqu'un se conserve pur, en s'abstenant de ces choses, il sera un vase d'honneur, sanctifié, utile à son maître, propre à toute bonne oeuvre.

21 Así que, si alguno se limpiare de estas cosas, será vaso para honra, santificado, y útil para los usos del Señor, y aparejado para todo buena obra.
21 So nun jemand sich reinigt von solchen Leuten, der wird ein geheiligtes Gefäß sein zu Ehren, dem Hausherrn bräuchlich und zu allem guten Werk bereitet.
22 But keep yourself from those desires of the flesh which are strong when the body is young, and go after righteousness, faith, love, peace, with those whose prayers go up to the Lord from a clean heart.
22 Fuis les passions de la jeunesse, et recherche la justice, la foi, la charité, la paix, avec ceux qui invoquent le Seigneur d'un coeur pur.
22 Seachain baois na hóige agus bíodh tóir agat ar an bhfíréantacht, ar an gcreideamh, ar an ngrá agus ar an tsíocháin, tú féin agus iad siúd a ghlaonn ar an Tiarna le croí glan.
22 Huye también los deseos juveniles; y sigue la justicia, la fe, la caridad, la paz, con los que invocan al Señor de puro corazón.
22 Fliehe die Lüste der Jugend; jage aber nach der Gerechtigkeit, dem Glauben, der Liebe, dem Frieden mit allen, die den HERRN anrufen von reinem Herzen.
23 And put away foolish and uncontrolled questionings, seeing that they are a cause of trouble.

25 Gently guiding those who go against the teaching; if by chance God may give them a change of heart and true knowledge,
25 il doit redresser avec douceur les adversaires, dans l'espérance que Dieu leur donnera la repentance pour arriver à la connaissance de la vérité,

25 und mit Sanftmut strafe die Widerspenstigen, ob ihnen Gott dermaleinst Buße gebe, die Wahrheit zu erkennen,
26 And so they may get themselves free from the net of the Evil One, being made the prisoners of the Lord's servant, for the purpose of God.
26 et que, revenus à leur bon sens, ils se dégageront des pièges du diable, qui s'est emparé d'eux pour les soumettre à sa volonté.
