1 But about the times and their order, my brothers, there is no need for me to say anything to you.

1 Von den Zeiten aber und Stunden, liebe Brüder, ist nicht not euch zu schreiben;
2 For you yourselves have the knowledge that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
2 Car vous savez bien vous-mêmes que le jour du Seigneur viendra comme un voleur dans la nuit.
2 Tá a fhios agaibh féin go beacht gur mar a bheadh bithiúnach san oíche a thiocfaidh an Lá úd an Tiarna.
2 Porque vosotros sabéis bien, que el día del Señor vendrá así como ladrón de noche,
2 denn ihr selbst wisset gewiß, daß der Tag des HERRN wird kommen wie ein Dieb in der Nacht.
3 When they say, There is peace and no danger, then sudden destruction will come on them, as birth-pains on a woman with child; and they will not be able to get away from it.
3 Quand les hommes diront: Paix et sûreté! alors une ruine soudaine les surprendra, comme les douleurs de l'enfantement surprennent la femme enceinte, et ils n'échapperont point.
3 Nuair a bheidh daoine á rá: “Táthar slán sábháilte,” ansin gan choinne is ea a thiocfaidh an tubaiste, mar a thagann an tinneas ar bhean atá trom, agus ní bheidh aon éalú acu uaithi.
3 Que cuando dirán, Paz y seguridad, entonces vendrá sobre ellos destrucción de repente, como los dolores á la mujer preñada; y no escaparán.
3 Denn sie werden sagen: Es ist Friede, es hat keine Gefahr, so wird sie das Verderben schnell überfallen, gleichwie der Schmerz ein schwangeres Weib, und werden nicht entfliehen.
4 But you, my brothers, are not in the dark, for that day to overtake you like a thief:
4 Mais vous, frères, vous n'êtes pas dans les ténèbres, pour que ce jour vous surprenne comme un voleur;
4 Ní sa dorchacht atá sibhse, áfach, a bhráithre, go dtiocfadh an lá úd aniar aduaidh oraibh mar a bheadh bithiúnach.
4 Mas vosotros, hermanos, no estáis en tinieblas, para que aquel día os sobrecoja como ladrón;
4 Ihr aber, liebe Brüder, seid nicht in der Finsternis, daß euch der Tag wie ein Dieb ergreife.
5 For you are all sons of light and of the day: we are not of the night or of the dark.
5 vous êtes tous des enfants de la lumière et des enfants du jour. Nous ne sommes point de la nuit ni des ténèbres.

5 Porque todos vosotros sois hijos de luz, é hijos del día; no somos de la noche, ni de las tinieblas.
5 Ihr seid allzumal Kinder des Lichtes und Kinder des Tages; wir sind nicht von der Nacht noch von der Finsternis.
6 So then, let us not take our rest as the others do, but let us be self-controlled and awake.

6 Por tanto, no durmamos como los demás; antes velemos y seamos sobrios.
6 So lasset uns nun nicht schlafen wie die andern, sondern lasset uns wachen und nüchtern sein.
7 For those who are sleeping do so in the night; and those who are the worse for drink are so in the night;
7 Car ceux qui dorment dorment la nuit, et ceux qui s'enivrent s'enivrent la nuit.
7 Istoíche is ea a chodlaíonn na codlatánaigh agus istoíche a bhíonn na meisceoirí ar meisce.
7 Porque los que duermen, de noche duermen; y los que están borrachos, de noche están borrachos.

8 But let us, who are of the day, be serious, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and on our heads, the hope of salvation.
8 Mais nous qui sommes du jour, soyons sobres, ayant revêtu la cuirasse de la foi et de la charité, et ayant pour casque l'espérance du salut.

8 Mas nosotros, que somos del día, estemos sobrios, vestidos de cota de fe y de caridad, y la esperanza de salud por yelmo.
8 wir aber, die wir des Tages sind, sollen nüchtern sein, angetan mit dem Panzer des Glaubens und der Liebe und mit dem Helm der Hoffnung zur Seligkeit.
9 For God's purpose for us is not wrath, but salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
9 Car Dieu ne nous a pas destinés à la colère, mais à l'acquisition du salut par notre Seigneur Jésus Christ,
9 Ní hí an fhearg atá ceaptha dúinn ag Dia ach go mbainfimis ár slánú amach trínár dTiarna Íosa Críost,
9 Porque no nos ha puesto Dios para ira, sino para alcanzar salud por nuestro Señor Jesucristo;
9 Denn Gott hat uns nicht gesetzt zum Zorn, sondern die Seligkeit zu besitzen durch unsern HERRN Jesus Christus,
10 Who was put to death for us, so that, awake or sleeping, we may have a part in his life.
10 qui est mort pour nous, afin que, soit que nous veillons, soit que nous dormions, nous vivions ensemble avec lui.

11 So then, go on comforting and building up one another, as you have been doing.
11 C'est pourquoi exhortez-vous réciproquement, et édifiez-vous les uns les autres, comme en réalité vous le faites.

11 Por lo cual, consolaos los unos á los otros, y edificaos los unos á los otros, así como lo hacéis.
11 Darum ermahnet euch untereinander und bauet einer den andern, wie ihr denn tut.
12 But we make this request to you, my brothers: give attention to those who are working among you, who are over you in the Lord to keep order among you;
12 Nous vous prions, frères, d'avoir de la considération pour ceux qui travaillent parmi vous, qui vous dirigent dans le Seigneur, et qui vous exhortent.
12 Iarraimid oraibh, a bhráithre, ómós a thabhairt dóibh siúd atá ag saothrú go dian in bhur measc agus atá do bhur stiúradh in ainm an Tiarna agus atá ag tabhairt comhairle daoibh.
12 Y os rogamos, hermanos, que reconozcáis á los que trabajan entre vosotros, y os presiden en el Señor, y os amonestan:
12 Wir bitten aber euch, liebe Brüder, daß ihr erkennet, die an euch arbeiten und euch vorstehen in dem HERRN und euch vermahnen;
13 And have a high opinion of them in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.
13 Ayez pour eux beaucoup d'affection, à cause de leur oeuvre. Soyez en paix entre vous.
13 Bíodh meas agus cion as cuimse agaibh orthu mar gheall ar a gcuid oibre.
13 Y que los tengáis en mucha estima por amor de su obra. Tened paz los unos con los otros.
13 habt sie desto lieber um ihres Werks willen und seid friedsam mit ihnen.
14 And our desire is that you will keep control over those whose lives are not well ordered, giving comfort to the feeble-hearted, supporting those with little strength, and putting up with much from all.
14 Nous vous prions aussi, frères, avertissez ceux qui vivent dans le désordre, consolez ceux qui sont abattus, supportez les faibles, usez de patience envers tous.
14 Mairigí le chéile go síochánta. Impímid oraibh, a bhráithre, foláireamh a thabhairt do na daoine neamhchúiseacha, na daoine faiteacha a spreagadh, cabhrú leis na laga agus bheith foighneach le cách uile.
14 También os rogamos, hermanos, que amonestéis á los que andan desordenadamente, que consoléis á los de poco ánimo, que soportéis á los flacos, que seáis sufridos para con todos.
14 Wir ermahnen aber euch, liebe Brüder, vermahnet die Ungezogenen, tröstet die Kleinmütigen, traget die Schwachen, seid geduldig gegen jedermann.
15 Let no one give evil for evil; but ever go after what is good, for one another and for all.
15 Prenez garde que personne ne rende à autrui le mal pour le mal; mais poursuivez toujours le bien, soit entre vous, soit envers tous.
15 Féachaigí chuige nach ndéanfaidh aon duine agaibh an t‑olc in aghaidh an oilc. Cuirigí romhaibh an mhaith a dhéanamh i gcónaí dá chéile agus do chách eile.
15 Mirad que ninguno dé á otro mal por mal; antes seguid lo bueno siempre los unos para con los otros, y para con todos.
15 Sehet zu, daß keiner Böses mit Bösem jemand vergelte; sondern allezeit jaget dem Guten nach, untereinander und gegen jedermann.
16 Have joy at all times.
16 Soyez toujours joyeux.

17 Keep on with your prayers.

19 Do not put out the light of the Spirit;

23 And may the God of peace himself make you holy in every way; and may your spirit and soul and body be free from all sin at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
23 Que le Dieu de paix vous sanctifie lui-même tout entiers, et que tout votre être, l'esprit, l'âme et le corps, soit conservé irrépréhensible, lors de l'avènement de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ!

23 Y el Dios de paz os santifique en todo; para que vuestro espíritu y alma y cuerpo sea guardado entero sin reprensión para la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
23 Er aber, der Gott des Friedens, heilige euch durch und durch, und euer Geist ganz samt Seele und Leib müsse bewahrt werden unsträflich auf die Zukunft unsers HERRN Jesu Christi.
24 God, by whom you have been marked out in his purpose, is unchanging and will make it complete.
24 Celui qui vous a appelés est fidèle, et c'est lui qui le fera.
