1 This is the third time that I am coming to you. From the mouth of two or three witnesses will every word be made certain.

2 I said before, and still say it before I come, as being present for the second time, though I am still away from you, to those who have done wrong before, and to all the others, that if I come again I will not have pity;
2 Lorsque j'étais présent pour la seconde fois, j'ai déjà dit, et aujourd'hui que je suis absent je dis encore d'avance à ceux qui ont péché précédemment et à tous les autres que, si je retourne chez vous, je n'userai d'aucun ménagement,

2 He dicho antes, y ahora digo otra vez como presente, y ahora ausente lo escribo á los que antes pecaron, y á todos los demás, que si voy otra vez, no perdonaré;
2 Ich habe es euch zuvor gesagt und sage es euch zuvor, wie, als ich zum andernmal gegenwärtig war, so auch nun abwesend schreibe ich es denen, die zuvor gesündigt haben, und den andern allen: Wenn ich abermals komme, so will ich nicht schonen;
3 Seeing that you are looking for a sign of Christ giving out his word in me; who is not feeble in relation to you, but is strong in you:
3 puisque vous cherchez une preuve que Christ parle en moi, lui qui n'est pas faible à votre égard, mais qui est puissant parmi vous.

3 Pues buscáis una prueba de Cristo que habla en mí, el cual no es flaco para con vosotros, antes es poderoso en vosotros.
3 sintemal ihr suchet, daß ihr einmal gewahr werdet des, der in mir redet, nämlich Christi, welcher unter euch nicht schwach ist, sondern ist mächtig unter euch.
4 For he was feeble in that he was put to death on the cross, but he is living by the power of God. And we are feeble in him, but we will be living with him through the power of God in relation to you.
4 Car il a été crucifié à cause de sa faiblesse, mais il vit par la puissance de Dieu; nous aussi, nous sommes faibles en lui, mais nous vivrons avec lui par la puissance de Dieu pour agir envers vous.
4 Is fíor gur céasadh ar an gcrois é le barr laige ach tá sé beo anois le cumhacht Dé. Is é an dála céanna againne é: táimidne lag ann ach beimid beo mar aon leis trí chumhacht Dé chun freastal oraibhse.
4 Porque aunque fué crucificado por flaqueza, empero vive por potencia de Dios. Pues también nosotros somos flacos con él, mas viviremos con él por la potencia de Dios para con vosotros.
4 Und ob er wohl gekreuzigt ist in der Schwachheit, so lebt er doch in der Kraft Gottes. Und ob wir auch schwach sind in ihm, so leben wir doch mit ihm in der Kraft Gottes unter euch.
5 Make a test of yourselves, if you are in the faith; make certain of yourselves. Or are you not conscious in yourselves that Jesus Christ is in you, if you are truly Christ's?
5 Examinez-vous vous mêmes, pour savoir si vous êtes dans la foi; éprouvez-vous vous-mêmes. Ne reconnaissez-vous pas que Jésus Christ est en vous? à moins peut-être que vous ne soyez réprouvés.
5 Déanaigí sibh féin a thriail agus a thástáil féachaint an bhfuil sibh ag leanúint den chreideamh. Nó an é nach dtuigeann sibh go bhfuil Íosa Críost ionaibh - rud atá mura bhfuil cliste oraibh?
5 Examinaos á vosotros mismos si estáis en fe; probaos á vosotros mismos. ¿No os conocéis á vosotros mismos, que Jesucristo está en vosotros? si ya no sois reprobados.
5 Versuchet euch selbst, ob ihr im Glauben seid; prüfet euch selbst! Oder erkennet ihr euch selbst nicht, daß Jesus Christus in euch ist? Es sei denn, daß ihr untüchtig seid.
6 But it is my hope that you will have no doubt that we are truly Christ's.
6 Mais j'espère que vous reconnaîtrez que nous, nous ne sommes pas réprouvés.
6 Tá súil agam, áfach, go dtuigfidh sibh nach bhfuil cliste orainne.
6 Mas espero que conoceréis que nosotros no somos reprobados.
6 Ich hoffe aber, ihr erkennet, daß wir nicht untüchtig sind.
7 Now our prayer to God is that you may do no evil; not in order that it may be put to our credit, but so that you may do what is right, whatever we may seem.
7 Cependant nous prions Dieu que vous ne fassiez rien de mal, non pour paraître nous-mêmes approuvés, mais afin que vous pratiquiez ce qui est bien et que nous, nous soyons comme réprouvés.
7 Táimid ag guí Dé nach ndéanfaidh sibh aon olc - ach ní d'fhonn a thaispeáint go bhfuil éirithe linn sa triail é, ach d'fhonn is go ndéanfadh sibhse an mhaith fiú amháin dá ndealródh sé go raibh teipthe orainn.
7 Y oramos á Dios que ninguna cosa mala hagáis; no para que nosotros seamos hallados aprobados, mas para que vosotros hagáis lo que es bueno, aunque nosotros seamos como reprobados.
7 Ich bitte aber Gott, daß ihr nichts Übles tut; nicht, auf daß wir als tüchtig angesehen werden, sondern auf daß ihr das Gute tut und wir wie die Untüchtigen seien.
8 Because we are able to do nothing against what is true, but only for it.
8 Car nous n'avons pas de puissance contre la vérité; nous n'en avons que pour la vérité.
8 Ní féidir dúinn aon ní a dhéanamh in aghaidh na fírinne ach ar son na fírinne amháin.
8 Porque ninguna cosas podemos contra la verdad, sino por la verdad.
8 Denn wir können nichts wider die Wahrheit, sondern für die Wahrheit.
9 For we are glad when we are feeble and you are strong: and this is our prayer, even that you may be made complete.
9 Nous nous réjouissons lorsque nous sommes faibles, tandis que vous êtes forts; et ce que nous demandons dans nos prières, c'est votre perfectionnement.
9 Bíonn áthas orainn fiú amháin nuair a bhímid féin lag agus sibhse go láidir. Is é ár nguí go gcuirfear sibhse ar lán bhur leasa.
9 Por lo cual nos gozamos que seamos nosotros flacos, y que vosotros estéis fuertes; y aun deseamos vuestra perfección.
9 Wir freuen uns aber, wenn wir schwach sind, und ihr mächtig seid. Und dasselbe wünschen wir auch, nämlich eure Vollkommenheit.
10 For this cause I am writing these things while I am away, so that there may be need for me, when I am present, to make use of sharp measures, by the authority which the Lord has given me for building up and not for destruction.
10 C'est pourquoi j'écris ces choses étant absent, afin que, présent, je n'aie pas à user de rigueur, selon l'autorité que le Seigneur m'a donnée pour l'édification et non pour la destruction.
10 Is é fáth a bhfuilim á scríobh seo chugaibh agus mé i bhfad uaibh, i dtreo nuair a thiocfaidh mé ar an láthair nach gá dom an déine a oibriú oraibh de réir an údaráis a bhronn an Tiarna orm, údarás chun sibh a thógáil in áit sibh a leagan ar lár. Slán
10 Por tanto os escribo esto ausente, por no tratar presente con dureza, conforme á la potestad que el Señor me ha dado para edificación, y no para destrucción.
10 Derhalben schreibe ich auch solches abwesend, auf daß ich nicht, wenn ich gegenwärtig bin, Schärfe brauchen müsse nach der Macht, welche mir der HERR, zu bessern und nicht zu verderben, gegeben hat.
11 Let this be my last word, brothers; be glad; be complete; be comforted; be of the same mind; be at peace with one another: and the God of love and peace will be with you.
11 Au reste, frères, soyez dans la joie, perfectionnez-vous, consolez-vous, ayez un même sentiment, vivez en paix; et le Dieu d'amour et de paix sera avec vous.
11 Agus anois, a bhráithre, fágaim slán agaibh. Déanaigí bhur mbeatha a leasú. Tugaigí spreagadh dá chéile. Bígí socair síochánta le chéile agus beidh Dia an ghrá agus na síochána faraibh.
11 Resta, hermanos, que tengáis gozo, seáis perfectos, tengáis consolación, sintáis una misma cosa, tengáis paz; y el Dios de paz y de caridad será con vosotros.
11 Zuletzt, liebe Brüder, freuet euch, seid vollkommen, tröstet euch, habt einerlei Sinn, seid friedsam! so wird der Gott der Liebe und des Friedens mit euch sein.
12 Saluez-vous les uns les autres par un saint baiser.
