2nd Corinthians 2

1 Do we seem to be again attempting to put ourselves in the right? or have we need, as some have, of letters of approval to you or from you?

1 An ag tosú ar ár moladh féin arís atáimid? An gá dúinne, dála daoine áirithe éile, litreacha creidiúnais a thabhairt chugaibhse nó iad a fháil uaibh?

2 You yourselves are our letter, whose writing is in our heart, open for every man's reading and knowledge;

2 Nuestras letras sois vosotros, escritas en nuestros corazones, sabidas y leídas de todos los hombres;

2 Ihr seid unser Brief, in unser Herz geschrieben, der erkannt und gelesen wird von allen Menschen;

3 For you are clearly a letter of Christ, the fruit of our work, recorded not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in stone, but in hearts of flesh.

3 Is follas don saol gur litir ó Chríost sibh atá arna scríobh againne ach nach le dúch a scríobhadh í ach le Spiorad an Dé bheo, agus nach ar tháibhléid chloiche a greanadh í ach ar tháibhléid an chroí dhaonna.

4 And this is the certain faith which we have in God through Christ:

4 Sin é an mhuinín atá againn as Dia i bpáirt le Críost.

5 Not as if we were able by ourselves to do anything for which we might take the credit; but our power comes from God;

5 Ní hé go dtig linn uainn féin aon ní a chur síos dár gcumas féin. Is ó Dhia ár gcumas

5 No que seamos suficientes de nosotros mismos para pensar algo como de nosotros mismos, sino que nuestra suficiencia es de Dios;

6 Who has made us able to be servants of a new agreement; not of the letter, but of the Spirit: for the letter gives death, but the Spirit gives life.

6 mar is é a chuir ar ár gcumas bheith inár maoir ar chonradh nua; ach ní conradh litreach é ach conradh sa Spiorad, mar is trúig bháis an litir scríofa ach is údar beatha an Spiorad.

7 For if the operation of the law, giving death, recorded in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the eyes of the children of Israel had to be turned away from the face of Moses because of its glory, a glory which was only for a time:

7 An córas básmhar úd a bhí greanta i litreacha ar chloch, má tháinig sé ann faoi niamhracht chomh mór sin nár fhéad clann Iosrael stánadh san aghaidh ar Mhaois mar gheall ar a ghile a bhí sí, siúd is go raibh an ghile ag tréigean,

8 Will not the operation of the Spirit have a much greater glory?

8 nach mó go mór an niamhracht a bheidh leis an gcóras spioradálta?

9 For if the operation of the law, producing punishment, had its glory, how much greater will be the operation of the Spirit causing righteousness?

9 Má bhí niamhracht ag gabháil le córas ár ndaortha, nach móide go mór go mbeadh niamhracht ag gabháil le córas ár bhfíréanaithe?

10 For the glory of the first no longer seems to be glory, because of the greater glory of that which comes after.

11 For if the order which was for a time had its glory, much more will the eternal order have its glory.

11 Má bhí niamhracht ag gabháil le córas a bhí sealadach nach niamhraí go mór a bheidh an córas atá buan?

12 Having then such a hope, we keep nothing back,

12 Ní cás dúinn a bheith teann dá bhrí sin nuair atá dóchas chomh mór sin againn.

12 Así que, teniendo tal esperanza, hablamos con mucha confianza;

13 And are not like Moses, who put a veil on his face, so that the children of Israel might not see clearly to the end of the present order of things:

13 Ní ionann dúinne agus do Mhaois a chuireadh púicín ar a cheann ar shlí nach mbeadh clann Iosrael ag stánadh ar an loinnir neamhbhuan úd ag tréigean.

13 und tun nicht wie Mose, der die Decke vor sein Angesicht hing, daß die Kinder Israel nicht ansehen konnten das Ende des, das aufhört;

14 But their minds were made hard: for to this very day at the reading of the old agreement the same veil is still unlifted; though it is taken away in Christ.

14 Dalladh an intinn iontu, áfach, agus go dtí an lá atá inniu ann fanann an púicín céanna orthu gan tógáil nuair a bhíonn an seantiomna á léamh dóibh, mar is i bpáirt le Críost a thógtar an púicín chun siúil.

14 sondern ihre Sinne sind verstockt. Denn bis auf den heutigen Tag bleibt diese Decke unaufgedeckt über dem alten Testament, wenn sie es lesen, welche in Christo aufhört;

15 But to this day, at the reading of the law of Moses, a veil is over their heart.

15 Jusqu'à ce jour, quand on lit Moïse, un voile est jeté sur leurs coeurs;

15 Sea, go dtí an lá inniu féin bíonn púicín anuas ar a n‑aigne nuair a bhíonn Maois á léamh dóibh,

16 But when it is turned to the Lord, the veil will be taken away.

16 ach “nuair a iompófar chun an Tiarna tógfar an púicín chun siúil.”

17 Now the Lord is the Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there the heart is free.

17 Is é an Tiarna an Spiorad, agus aon áit a mbíonn Spiorad an Tiarna bíonn saoirse ann.

18 But we all, with unveiled face giving back as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord who is the Spirit.

18 Níl aon phúicín orainne, áfach; tá scáil de ghlóir an Tiarna le feiceáil inár ngnúis mar a bheadh i scáthán agus sinn ag dul i gcosúlacht leis- sean ó niamhracht go niamhracht faoi luí Spiorad an Tiarna.
