1 Go after love; still desiring to have the things which the Spirit gives, but most of all that you may have the prophet's power.
1 Recherchez la charité. Aspirez aussi aux dons spirituels, mais surtout à celui de prophétie.

1 SEGUID la caridad; y procurad los dones espirituales, mas sobre todo que profeticéis.
1 Strebet nach der Liebe! Fleißiget euch der geistlichen Gaben, am meisten aber, daß ihr weissagen möget!
2 For he who makes use of tongues is not talking to men but to God; because no one has the sense of what he is saying; but in the Spirit he is talking of secret things.
2 En effet, celui qui parle en langue ne parle pas aux hommes, mais à Dieu, car personne ne le comprend, et c'est en esprit qu'il dit des mystères.
2 Mar an té a labhraíonn i dteanga, ní le daoine a bhíonn sé ag labhairt ach le Dia, mar nach dtuigeann duine ar bith é ach é ag trácht faoi anáil an Spioraid ar nithe rúnda.
2 Porque el que habla en lenguas, no habla á los hombres, sino á Dios; porque nadie le entiende, aunque en espíritu hable misterios.
2 Denn der mit Zungen redet, der redet nicht den Menschen, sondern Gott; denn ihm hört niemand zu, im Geist aber redet er die Geheimnisse.
3 But the word of the prophet gives men knowledge and comfort and strength.
3 Celui qui prophétise, au contraire, parle aux hommes, les édifie, les exhorte, les console.
3 An té a thugann tairngreacht, áfach, is ag labhairt le daoine a bhíonn sé, á neartú, á spreagadh agus á misniú.
3 Mas el que profetiza, habla á los hombres para edificación, y exhortación, y consolación.
3 Wer aber weissagt, der redet den Menschen zur Besserung und zur Ermahnung und zur Tröstung.
4 He who makes use of tongues may do good to himself; but he who gives the prophet's word does good to the church.
4 Celui qui parle en langue s'édifie lui-même; celui qui prophétise édifie l'Église.
4 An té a labhraíonn i dteanga is leis féin amháin a threisíonn sé, ach an té a thugann tairngreacht bíonn sé ag treisiú leis an eaglais.
4 El que habla lengua extraña, á sí mismo se edifica; mas el que porfetiza, edifica á la iglesia.
4 Wer mit Zungen redet, der bessert sich selbst; wer aber weissagt, der bessert die Gemeinde.
5 Now though it is my desire for you all to have the power of tongues, it would give me more pleasure to be hearing the prophet's word from you; for this is a greater thing than using tongues, if the sense is not given at the same time, for the good of the church.
5 Je désire que vous parliez tous en langues, mais encore plus que vous prophétisiez. Celui qui prophétise est plus grand que celui qui parle en langues, à moins que ce dernier n'interprète, pour que l'Église en reçoive de l'édification.
5 Ba mhaith liom sibh go léir a bheith ag labhairt i dteangacha, ach b'fhearr liom go dtabharfadh sibh tairngreacht, mar is éifeachtaí an fáidh ná fear na dteangacha a labhairt mura ndéanann duine éigin a chuid cainte sin a mhíniú d'fhonn treisiú leis an eaglais.
5 Así que, quisiera que todos vosotros hablaseis lenguas, empero más que profetizaseis: porque mayor es el que profetiza que el que habla lenguas, si también no interpretare, para que la iglesia tome edificación.
5 Ich wollte, daß ihr alle mit Zungen reden könntet; aber viel mehr, daß ihr weissagt. Denn der da weissagt, ist größer, als der mit Zungen redet; es sei denn, daß er's auch auslege, daß die Gemeinde davon gebessert werde.
6 But, now, my brothers, if I come to you using tongues, what profit will it be to you, if I do not give you a revelation, or knowledge, or the word of the prophet, or teaching?
6 Et maintenant, frères, de quelle utilité vous serais-je, si je venais à vous parlant en langues, et si je ne vous parlais pas par révélation, ou par connaissance, ou par prophétie, ou par doctrine?
6 Cuirim i gcás, a bhráithre, go dtagaimse chugaibh ag labhairt i dteangacha, cén tairbhe daoibh mé mura mbíonn foilsiú éigin nó eolas nó tairngreacht nó teagasc éigin agam le tabhairt daoibh?
6 Ahora pues, hermanos, si yo fuere á vosotros hablando lenguas, ¿qué os aprovecharé, si no os hablare, ó con revelación, ó con ciencia, ó con profecía, ó con doctrina?
6 Nun aber, liebe Brüder, wenn ich zu euch käme und redete mit Zungen, was wäre es euch nütze, so ich nicht mit euch redete entweder durch Offenbarung oder durch Erkenntnis oder durch Weissagung oder durch Lehre?
7 Even things without life, having a voice, such as a music-pipe or other instrument, if they do not give out different sounds, who may be certain what is being played?
7 Si les objets inanimés qui rendent un son, comme une flûte ou une harpe, ne rendent pas des sons distincts, comment reconnaîtra-t-on ce qui est joué sur la flûte ou sur la harpe?
7 Na huirlisí ceoil féin, nithe neamhbheo ar nós na feadóige agus na cruite, mura mbíonn dealú idir na nótaí iontu, conas a aithneofar a mbeidh á sheinm orthu?
7 Ciertamente las cosas inanimadas que hacen sonidos, como la flauta ó la vihuela, si no dieren distinción de voces, ¿comó se sabrá lo que se tañe con la flauta, ó con la vihuela?
7 Verhält sich's doch auch also mit den Dingen, die da lauten, und doch nicht leben; es sei eine Pfeife oder eine Harfe: wenn sie nicht unterschiedene Töne von sich geben, wie kann man erkennen, was gepfiffen oder geharft wird?
8 For if the war-horn gives out an uncertain note, who will get ready for the fight?
8 Et si la trompette rend un son confus, qui se préparera au combat?
8 Agus má thugann an stoc uaidh glór éiginnte, cé a ullmhóidh é féin chun catha?
8 Y si la trompeta diere sonido incierto, ¿quién se apercibirá á la batalla?
8 Und so die Posaune einen undeutlichen Ton gibt, wer wird sich zum Streit rüsten?
9 So if you, in using a strange tongue, say words which have no sense, how will anyone take in what you are saying? for you will be talking to the air.
9 De même vous, si par la langue vous ne donnez pas une parole distincte, comment saura-t-on ce que vous dites? Car vous parlerez en l'air.
9 Sibhse mar an gcéanna, mura labhraíonn sibh go soiléir sa teanga, conas a thuigfear a mbeidh á rá? Ag caint san aer a bheidh sibh.
9 Así también vosotros, si por la lengua no diereis palabra bien significante, ¿cómo se entenderá lo que se dice? porque hablaréis al aire.
9 Also auch ihr, wenn ihr mit Zungen redet, so ihr nicht eine deutliche Rede gebet, wie kann man wissen, was geredet ist? Denn ihr werdet in den Wind reden.
10 There are, it may be, a number of different voices in the world, and no voice is without sense.
10 Quelque nombreuses que puissent être dans le monde les diverses langues, il n'en est aucune qui ne soit une langue intelligible;
10 Is iomaí sin teanga difriúil sa domhan agus gan aon cheann acu gan bhrí.
10 Tantos géneros de voces, por ejemplo, hay en el mundo, y nada hay mudo;
10 Es ist mancherlei Art der Stimmen in der Welt, und derselben ist keine undeutlich.
11 But if the sense of the voice is not clear to me, I am like a man from a strange country to him who is talking, and he will be the same to me.
11 si donc je ne connais pas le sens de la langue, je serai un barbare pour celui qui parle, et celui qui parle sera un barbare pour moi.
11 Ach mura dtuigimse ciall na cainte beidh mé i mo choimhthíoch don chainteoir agus beidh an cainteoir ina choimhthíoch domsa.
11 Mas si yo ignorare el valor de la voz, seré bárbaro al que habla, y el que habla será bárbaro para mí.
11 So ich nun nicht weiß der Stimme Bedeutung, werde ich unverständlich sein dem, der da redet, und der da redet, wird mir unverständlich sein.
12 So if you are desiring the things which the Spirit gives, let your minds be turned first to the things which are for the good of the church.
12 De même vous, puisque vous aspirez aux dons spirituels, que ce soit pour l'édification de l'Église que vous cherchiez à en posséder abondamment.
12 Sibhse mar an gcéanna: ó tá dúil agaibh i dtíolacthaí an Spioraid, bíodh tóir agaibh ar an tosaíocht a bheith agaibh ag treisiú leis an eaglais.
12 Así también vosotros; pues que anheláis espirituales dones, procurad ser excelentes para la edificación de la iglesia.
12 Also auch ihr, sintemal ihr euch fleißigt der geistlichen Gaben, trachtet darnach, daß ihr alles reichlich habet, auf daß ihr die Gemeinde bessert.
13 For this reason, let the man who has the power of using tongues make request that he may, at the same time, be able to give the sense.
13 C'est pourquoi, que celui qui parle en langue prie pour avoir le don d'interpréter.
13 An té a labhraíonn i dteanga, mar sin, bíodh sé ag guí go ndéanfaidh duine éigin a chaint a mhíniú.
13 Por lo cual, el que habla lengua extraña, pida que la interprete.
13 Darum, welcher mit Zungen redet, der bete also, daß er's auch auslege.
14 For if I make use of tongues in my prayers, my spirit makes the prayer, but not my mind.
14 Car si je prie en langue, mon esprit est en prière, mais mon intelligence demeure stérile.
14 Má dhéanaimse guí i dteanga is é mo spiorad a bhíonn ag guí ach bíonn m'intleacht seasc.
14 Porque si yo orare en lengua desconocida, mi espíritu ora; mas mi entendimiento es sin fruto.

15 What then? let my prayer be from the spirit, and equally from the mind; let my song be from the spirit, and equally from mind.
15 Que faire donc? Je prierai par l'esprit, mais je prierai aussi avec l'intelligence; je chanterai par l'esprit, mais je chanterai aussi avec l'intelligence.

15 Wie soll das aber dann sein? Ich will beten mit dem Geist und will beten auch im Sinn; ich will Psalmen singen im Geist und will auch Psalmen singen mit dem Sinn.
16 For if you give a blessing with the spirit, how will the man who has no knowledge say, So be it, after your prayer, seeing that he has not taken in what you are saying?
16 Autrement, si tu rends grâces par l'esprit, comment celui qui est dans les rangs de l'homme du peuple répondra-t-il Amen! à ton action de grâces, puisqu'il ne sait pas ce que tu dis?
16 Más le do spiorad amháin a mholann tú conas a chuirfidh aon ghnáthdhuine “Amen” le d'altú nuair nach bhfuil a fhios aige cad atá tú a rá?
16 Porque si bendijeres con el espíritu, el que ocupa lugar de un mero particular, ¿cómo dirá amén á tu acción de gracias? pues no sabe lo que has dicho.
16 Wenn du aber segnest im Geist, wie soll der, so an des Laien Statt steht, Amen sagen auf deine Danksagung, sintemal er nicht weiß, was du sagst?
17 For your giving of the blessing is certainly well done, but of no profit to the man without knowledge.
17 Tu rends, il est vrai, d'excellentes actions de grâces, mais l'autre n'est pas édifié.
17 Bíodh féin go bhfuil d'altú ar fheabhas, ní aon tairbhe den fhear thall é.
17 Porque tú, á la verdad, bien haces gracias; mas el otro no es edificado.
17 Du danksagest wohl fein, aber der andere wird nicht davon gebessert.
18 I give praise to God that I am able to make use of tongues more than you all:
18 Je rends grâces à Dieu de ce que je parle en langue plus que vous tous;
18 A bhuí le Dia gur mó a labhraím féin i dteangacha ná duine ar bith agaibh,
18 Doy gracias á Dios que hablo lenguas más que todos vosotros:
18 Ich danke meinem Gott, daß ich mehr mit Zungen rede denn ihr alle.
19 But in the church it would be better for me to make use of five words of which the sense was clear, so that others might have profit, than ten thousand words in a strange tongue.
19 mais, dans l'Église, j'aime mieux dire cinq paroles avec mon intelligence, afin d'instruire aussi les autres, que dix mille paroles en langue.
19 ach nuair a bhím in eaglais is fearr liom cúig fhocal a labhairt ó m'intleacht chun daoine eile a theagasc ná deich míle focal a labhairt i dteanga.
19 Pero en la iglesia más quiero hablar cinco palabras con mi sentido, para que enseñe también á los otros, que diez mil palabras en lengua desconocida.
19 Aber ich will in der Gemeinde lieber fünf Worte reden mit meinem Sinn, auf daß ich auch andere unterweise, denn zehntausend Worte mit Zungen.
20 My brothers, do not be children in mind: in evil be as little children, but in mind be of full growth.
20 Frères, ne soyez pas des enfants sous le rapport du jugement; mais pour la malice, soyez enfants, et, à l'égard du jugement, soyez des hommes faits.
20 A bhráithre, ná bígí leanbaí in bhur meon; sea, bígí ar nós an linbh ó thaobh na hurchóide, ach bígí fásta suas ó thaobh an mheoin de.
20 Hermanos, no seáis niños en el sentido, sino sed niños en la malicia: empero perfectos en el sentido.
20 Liebe Brüder, werdet nicht Kinder an dem Verständnis; sondern an der Bosheit seid Kinder, an dem Verständnis aber seid vollkommen.
21 In the law it is said, By men of other tongues and by strange lips will my words come to this people; and not even so will they give ear to me, says the Lord.
21 Il est écrit dans la loi: C'est par des hommes d'une autre langue Et par des lèvres d'étrangers Que je parlerai à ce peuple, Et ils ne m'écouteront pas même ainsi, dit le Seigneur.
21 Tá scríofa sa dlí: “Labhróidh mé leis an bpobal seo,” arsa an Tiarna, “trí bhéal na n‑allúrach agus trí bheola na n‑eachtrannach, ach ní éisteoidh siad liom ar a shon sin.”
21 En la ley está escrito: En otras lenguas y en otros labios hablaré á este pueblo; y ni aun así me oirán, dice el Señor.
21 Im Gesetz steht geschrieben: Ich will mit andern Zungen und mit andern Lippen reden zu diesem Volk, und sie werden mich auch also nicht hören, spricht der HERR."
22 For this reason tongues are for a sign, not to those who have faith, but to those who have not: but the prophet's word is for those who have faith, and not for the rest who have not.
22 Par conséquent, les langues sont un signe, non pour les croyants, mais pour les non-croyants; la prophétie, au contraire, est un signe, non pour les non-croyants, mais pour les croyants.
22 Dá réir sin is comhartha na teangacha, ní do na creidmhigh ach do na díchreidmhigh; ach is do na creidmhigh is comhartha an fháidheoireacht agus ní do na díchreidmhigh.
22 Así que, las lenguas por señal son, no á los fieles, sino á los infieles: mas la profecía, no á los infieles, sino á los fieles.
22 Darum sind die Zungen zum Zeichen nicht den Gläubigen, sondern den Ungläubigen; die Weissagung aber nicht den Ungläubigen, sondern den Gläubigen.
23 If, then, the church has come together, and all are using tongues, and there come in men without knowledge or faith, will they not say that you are unbalanced?
23 Si donc, dans une assemblée de l'Église entière, tous parlent en langues, et qu'il survienne des hommes du peuple ou des non-croyants, ne diront-ils pas que vous êtes fous?
23 Cuirim i gcás má bhíonn an eaglais cruinnithe i gceann a chéile agus iad go léir ag labhairt i dteangacha agus go dtagann tuataí nó díchreidmhigh isteach, nach é a déarfaidh siad gur as bhur meabhair atá sibh?
23 De manera que, si toda la iglesia se juntare en uno, y todos hablan lenguas, y entran indoctos ó infieles, ¿no dirán que estáis locos?
23 Wenn nun die ganze Gemeinde zusammenkäme an einen Ort und redeten alle mit Zungen, es kämen aber hinein Laien oder Ungläubige, würden sie nicht sagen, ihr wäret unsinnig?
24 But if all are teaching as prophets, and a man without faith or knowledge comes in, he is tested by all, he is judged by all;
24 Mais si tous prophétisent, et qu'il survienne quelque non-croyant ou un homme du peuple, il est convaincu par tous, il est jugé par tous,
24 Más ag tabhairt tairngreachta a bhíonn siad go léir, áfach, agus díchreidmheach nó tuata a theacht isteach, is amhlaidh a bheidh sé á chiontú ag gach duine agus á mheas ag gach duine.
24 Mas si todos profetizan, y entra algún infiel ó indocto, de todos es convencido, de todos es juzgado;
24 So sie aber alle weissagen und käme dann ein Ungläubiger oder Laie hinein, der würde von ihnen allen gestraft und von allen gerichtet;
25 The secrets of his heart are made clear; and he will go down on his face and give worship to God, saying that God is truly among you.
25 les secrets de son coeur sont dévoilés, de telle sorte que, tombant sur sa face, il adorera Dieu, et publiera que Dieu est réellement au milieu de vous.
25 Nochtfar rúin a chroí agus caithfidh sé é féin ar a bhéal ag déanamh ómóis do Dhia agus ag fógairt go bhfuil Dia in bhur measc dáiríre. Ord agus Eagar ag na Cruinnithe
25 Lo oculto de su corazón se hace manifiesto: y así, postrándose sobre el rostro, adorará á Dios, declarando que verdaderamente Dios está en vosotros.
25 und also würde das Verborgene seines Herzens offenbar, und er würde also fallen auf sein Angesicht, Gott anbeten und bekennen, daß Gott wahrhaftig in euch sei.
26 What is it then, my brothers? when you come together everyone has a holy song, or a revelation, or a tongue, or is giving the sense of it. Let everything be done for the common good.
26 Que faire donc, frères? Lorsque vous vous assemblez, les uns ou les autres parmi vous ont-ils un cantique, une instruction, une révélation, une langue, une interprétation, que tout se fasse pour l'édification.
26 Cad atá le déanamh mar sin, a bhráithre? Tá, nuair a thagann sibh i gceann a chéile bíonn ag gach duine salm nó teagasc nó foilsiú nó caint i dteanga nó míniú ar an gcaint sin; ach bíodh gach ní acu ag treisiú leis an gcomhluadar.
26 ¿Qué hay pues, hermanos? Cuando os juntáis, cada uno de vosotros tiene salmo, tiene doctrina, tiene lengua, tiene revelación, tiene interpretación: hagáse todo para edificación.
26 Wie ist es denn nun, liebe Brüder? Wenn ihr zusammenkommt, so hat ein jeglicher Psalmen, er hat eine Lehre, er hat Zungen, er hat Offenbarung, er hat Auslegung. Laßt alles geschehen zur Besserung!
27 If any man makes use of a tongue, let it not be more than two, or at the most three, and in turn; and let someone give the sense:
27 En est-il qui parlent en langue, que deux ou trois au plus parlent, chacun à son tour, et que quelqu'un interprète;
27 Má dhéantar caint i dteanga, ná labhraíodh ach beirt nó triúr ar a mhéad, gach duine acu ar a sheal féin agus bíodh duine amháin ag míniú na cainte.
27 Si hablare alguno en lengua extraña, sea esto por dos, ó á lo más tres, y por turno; mas uno interprete.
27 So jemand mit Zungen redet, so seien es ihrer zwei oder aufs meiste drei, und einer um den andern; und einer lege es aus.
28 But if there is no one to give the sense, let him keep quiet in the church; and let his words be to himself and to God.
28 s'il n'y a point d'interprète, qu'on se taise dans l'Église, et qu'on parle à soi-même et à Dieu.
28 Más rud é nach mbíonn aon duine ann a mhíneodh an chaint, fanadh gach duine ina thost san eaglais agus bíodh an chaint idir é féin agus Dia.
28 Y si no hubiere intérprete, calle en la iglesia, y hable á sí mismo y á Dios.
28 Ist aber kein Ausleger da, so schweige er in der Gemeinde, rede aber sich selber und Gott.
29 And let the prophets give their words, but not more than two or three, and let the others be judges of what they say.
29 Pour ce qui est des prophètes, que deux ou trois parlent, et que les autres jugent;
29 Maidir leis na fáithe, ná labhraíodh thar beirt nó triúr agus déanadh an chuid eile a gcaint a mheas.
29 Asimismo, los profetas hablen dos ó tres, y los demás juzguen.
29 Weissager aber lasset reden zwei oder drei, und die andern lasset richten.
30 But if a revelation is given to another who is seated near, let the first be quiet.
30 et si un autre qui est assis a une révélation, que le premier se taise.
30 Ach má fhaigheann duine eile foilsiú agus é ina shuí, bíodh an chéad duine ina thost;
30 Y si á otro que estuviere sentado, fuere revelado, calle el primero.
30 So aber eine Offenbarung geschieht einem andern, der da sitzt, so schweige der erste.
31 For you may all be prophets in turn so that all may get knowledge and comfort;
31 Car vous pouvez tous prophétiser successivement, afin que tous soient instruits et que tous soient exhortés.
31 mar tá cead fáidheoireachta agaibh go léir, ach é a dhéanamh duine ar dhuine ar shlí go mbeidh sibh go léir ag foghlaim agus ag fáil spreagadh.
31 Porque podéis todos profetizar uno por uno, para que todos aprendan, y todos sean exhortados.
31 Ihr könnt wohl alle weissagen, einer nach dem andern, auf daß sie alle lernen und alle ermahnt werden.
32 And the spirits of the prophets are controlled by the prophets;
32 Les esprits des prophètes sont soumis aux prophètes;
32 Tá tíolacthaí spioradálta na bhfáithe faoi stiúir na bhfáithe féin,
32 Y los espíritus de los que profetizaren, sujétense á los profetas;
32 Und die Geister der Propheten sind den Propheten untertan.
33 For God is not a God whose ways are without order, but a God of peace; as in all the churches of the saints.
33 car Dieu n'est pas un Dieu de désordre, mais de paix. Comme dans toutes les Églises des saints,

33 Porque Dios no es Dios de disensión, sino de paz; como en todas las iglesias de los santos.
33 Denn Gott ist nicht ein Gott der Unordnung, sondern des Friedens.
34 Let women keep quiet in the churches: for it is not right for them to be talking; but let them be under control, as it says in the law.
34 que les femmes se taisent dans les assemblées, car il ne leur est pas permis d'y parler; mais qu'elles soient soumises, selon que le dit aussi la loi.
34 fanadh na mná ina dtost sna heaglaisí. Níl aon chead labhartha acu ach iad a bheith faoi smacht mar a deirtear sa dlí.
34 Vuestras mujeres callen en las congregaciones; porque no les es permitido hablar, sino que estén sujetas, como también la ley dice.
34 Wie in allen Gemeinden der Heiligen lasset eure Weiber schweigen in der Gemeinde; denn es soll ihnen nicht zugelassen werden, daß sie reden, sondern sie sollen untertan sein, wie auch das Gesetz sagt.
35 And if they have a desire for knowledge about anything, let them put questions to their husbands privately: for talking in the church puts shame on a woman.
35 Si elles veulent s'instruire sur quelque chose, qu'elles interrogent leurs maris à la maison; car il est malséant à une femme de parler dans l'Église.
35 Más áil leo fios aon ní a fháil, cuiridís ceist ar a bhfear sa bhaile, mar is náireach an mhaise do bhean labhairt in eaglais.
35 Y si quieren aprender alguna cosa, pregunten en casa á sus maridos; porque deshonesta cosa es hablar una mujer en la congregación.
35 Wollen sie etwas lernen, so lasset sie daheim ihre Männer fragen. Es steht den Weibern übel an, in der Gemeinde zu reden.
36 What? was it from you that the word of God went out? or did it only come in to you?
36 Est-ce de chez vous que la parole de Dieu est sortie? ou est-ce à vous seuls qu'elle est parvenue?
36 An amach uaibhse a tháinig briathar Dé? nó an chugaibhse amháin a tháinig sé?
36 Qué, ¿ha salido de vosotros la palabra de Dios? ¿ó á vosotros solos ha llegado?
36 Oder ist das Wort Gottes von euch ausgekommen? Oder ist's allein zu euch gekommen?
37 If any man seems to himself to be a prophet or to have the Spirit, let him take note of the things which I am writing to you, as being the word of the Lord.
37 Si quelqu'un croit être prophète ou inspiré, qu'il reconnaisse que ce que je vous écris est un commandement du Seigneur.

37 Si alguno á su parecer, es profeta, ó espiritual, reconozca lo que os escribo, porque son mandamientos del Señor.
37 So sich jemand läßt dünken, er sei ein Prophet oder geistlich, der erkenne, was ich euch schreibe; denn es sind des HERRN Gebote.
38 But if any man is without knowledge, let him be so.
38 Et si quelqu'un l'ignore, qu'il l'ignore.
38 Má bhíonn duine ainbhiosach, beifear ainbhiosach air.
38 Mas el que ignora, ignore.
38 Ist aber jemand unwissend, der sei unwissend.
39 So then, my brothers, let it be your chief desire to be prophets; but let no one be stopped from using tongues.
39 Ainsi donc, frères, aspirez au don de prophétie, et n'empêchez pas de parler en langues.
39 Bíodh dúil agaibh san fháidheoireacht, dá bhrí sin, a bhráithre, agus ná coiscigí labhairt i dteangacha.
39 Así que, hermanos, procurad profetizar; y no impidáis el hablar lenguas.
39 Darum, liebe Brüder, fleißiget euch des Weissagens und wehret nicht, mit Zungen zu reden.
40 Let all things be done in the right and ordered way.
40 Mais que tout se fasse avec bienséance et avec ordre.
