1st Corinthians 11

1 But about the things of the spirit, my brothers, it is not right for you to be without teaching.

1 Maidir le tíolacthaí an Spioraid, níor mhaith liom, a bhráithre, go mbeadh aon aineolas oraibh ina dtaobh.

2 You are conscious that when you were Gentiles, in whatever way you were guided, you went after images without voice or power.

2 Tá a fhios agaibh fad a bhí sibh in bhur bpágánaigh go mbíodh sibh do bhur seoladh ar mearbhall i ndiaidh na n‑íol balbh.

3 So it is my desire for you to be clear about this; that no one is able to say by the Spirit of God that Jesus is cursed; and no one is able to say that Jesus is Lord, but by the Holy Spirit.

3 Sin é an fáth a bhfuilim á thabhairt le fios daoibh nach féidir d'aon duine “Mallacht ar Íosa” a rá agus é ag labhairt faoi anáil Spioraid Dé agus nach féidir d'aon duine ach oiread “Is é Íosa an Tiarna” a rá ach amháin faoi anáil an Spioraid Naoimh.

4 Now there are different qualities given to men, but the same Spirit.

4 Il y a diversité de dons, mais le même Esprit;

4 Tá tíolacthaí difriúla ann ach an t‑aon Spiorad amháin;

5 And there are different sorts of servants, but the same Lord.

5 diversité de ministères, mais le même Seigneur;

5 tá feidhmeannais difriúla ann ach an t‑aon Tiarna amháin;

6 And there are different operations, but the same God, who is working all things in all.

6 agus tá oibreacha difriúla ann ach is é an Dia céanna a bhíonn á n‑oibriú go léir in gach ceann riamh acu.

7 But to every man some form of the Spirit's working is given for the common good.

7 An léiriú a dhéantar ar an Spiorad in gach duine ar leith, is chun tairbhe an phobail mhóir é.

8 For to one are given words of wisdom through the Spirit; and to another words of knowledge through the same Spirit:

8 En effet, à l'un est donnée par l'Esprit une parole de sagesse; à un autre, une parole de connaissance, selon le même Esprit;

8 Mar shampla faigheann duine amháin labhairt go heagnaí ón Spiorad agus faigheann duine eile labhairt go feasach ón Spiorad céanna.

8 Porque á la verdad, á éste es dada por el Espíritu palabra de sabiduría; á otro, palabra de ciencia según el mismo Espíritu;

8 Einem wird gegeben durch den Geist, zu reden von der Weisheit; dem andern wird gegeben, zu reden von der Erkenntnis nach demselben Geist;

9 To another faith in the same Spirit; and to another the power of taking away disease, by the one Spirit;

9 à un autre, la foi, par le même Esprit; à un autre, le don des guérisons, par le même Esprit;

9 Faigheann duine eile creideamh tríd an Spiorad céanna, agus duine eile buanna leighis tríd an aon Spiorad.

9 A otro, fe por el mismo Espíritu, y á otro, dones de sanidades por el mismo Espíritu;

9 einem andern der Glaube in demselben Geist; einem andern die Gabe, gesund zu machen in demselben Geist;

10 And to another the power of working wonders; and to another the prophet's word; and to another the power of testing spirits; to another different sorts of tongues; and to another the power of making clear the sense of the tongues:

10 Faigheann duine eile cumas míorúiltí agus duine eile fós bua na tairngreachta agus duine eile arís na spioraid a aithint ó chéile. Bíonn teangacha éagsúla ag duine amháin agus míniú teangacha ag duine eile.

10 A otro, operaciones de milagros, y á otro, profecía; y á otro, discreción de espíritus; y á otro, géneros de lenguas; y á otro, interpretación de lenguas.

11 But all these are the operations of the one and the same Spirit, giving to every man separately as his pleasure is.

11 Ach is é an Spiorad ceanann céanna a bhíonn ag oibriú sna tíolacthaí seo uile agus é ag dáil ar gach duine faoi leith de réir mar is áil leis féin.

12 For as the body is one, and has a number of parts, and all the parts make one body, so is Christ.

12 Is aonad an corp agus mórán ball ann, ach dá líonmhaire iad na baill ní dhéanann siad uile ach aon chorp amháin. Is é an dála céanna ag Críost é:

13 For through the baptism of the one Spirit we were all formed into one body, Jews or Greeks, servants or free men, and were all made full of the same Spirit.

13 mar cibé acu Giúdaigh nó Gréagaigh sinn, saor nó daor, baisteadh an uile dhuine againn leis an aon Spiorad amháin, isteach san aon chorp amháin agus as an aon Spiorad amháin tugadh deoch le hól dúinn.

14 For the body is not one part, but a number of parts.

15 If the foot says, Because I am not the hand, I am not a part of the body; it is no less a part of the body.

16 And if the ear says, Because I am not the eye, I am not a part of the body; it is a part of the body all the same.

17 If all the body was an eye, where would be the hearing? if all was hearing, where would be the smelling?

17 Dá mba shúil an corp iomlán, cá mbeadh an éisteacht? Nó dá mba éisteacht an t‑iomlán cá mbeadh an boladh?

18 But now God has put every one of the parts in the body as it was pleasing to him.

19 And if they were all one part, where would the body be?

19 Dá mba aon bhall amháin an t‑iomlán acu, cá mbeadh an corp?

20 But now they are all different parts, but one body.

20 Is amhlaidh mar atá an scéal, áfach: tá mórán ball ann agus aon chorp amháin.

21 And the eye may not say to the hand, I have no need of you: or again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

21 L'oeil ne peut pas dire à la main: Je n'ai pas besoin de toi; ni la tête dire aux pieds: Je n'ai pas besoin de vous.

21 Más ea, ní féidir don tsúil a rá leis an láimh: Níl aon ghnó agam díotsa”; ná ní féidir don cheann a rá leis na cosa: “Níl aon ghnó agam díbhse.”

22 No, those parts which seem to be feeble are the more necessary;

22 Mais bien plutôt, les membres du corps qui paraissent être les plus faibles sont nécessaires;

22 Ní hea, ach na baill a bhfuil an chuma is leochailí orthu, is iad is riachtanach.

22 Antes, mucho más los miembros del cuerpo que parecen más flacos, son necesarios;

22 Sondern vielmehr die Glieder des Leibes, die uns dünken die schwächsten zu sein, sind die nötigsten;

23 And to those parts of the body which seem to have less honour we give all the more honour; and to those parts of the body which are a cause of shame to us we give the greater respect;

23 Agus na baill den chorp is lú gradam linn, is iad is onóraí a chóirímid; agus na baill is lú maise atá againn is iad is cuibhiúla a mhaisítear,

24 But those parts of the body which are beautiful have no need of such care: and so the body has been joined together by God in such a way as to give more honour to those parts which had need of it;

24 rud nach gá a dhéanamh dár mbaill mhaisiúla. Chuir Dia an corp le chéile sa tslí gur thug sé breis den ghradam don bhall a bhí á cheal,

24 Porque los que en nosotros son más honestos, no tienen necesidad: mas Dios ordenó el cuerpo, dando más abundante honor al que le faltaba;

25 So that there might be no division in the body; but all the parts might have the same care for one another.

25 ar shlí nach mbeadh aon deighilt sa chorp ach go mbeadh na baill ag déanamh an chúraim chéanna dá chéile.

26 And if there is pain in one part of the body, all the parts will be feeling it; or if one part is honoured, all the parts will be glad.

26 Dá chionn sin, má bhíonn tinneas ar bhall amháin bíonn na baill go léir i gcomhphian leis, agus má bhíonn ball faoi mheas, bíonn na baill go léir ag déanamh comhghairdis leis.

27 Now you are the body of Christ, and every one of you the separate parts of it.

27 Is sibhse corp Chríost agus is ball dá chuid gach duine ar leith agaibh.

28 And God has put some in the church, first, Apostles; second, prophets; third, teachers; then those with wonder-working powers, then those with the power of taking away disease, helpers, wise guides, users of strange tongues.

29 Are all Apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? have all the power of working wonders?

29 Tous sont-ils apôtres? Tous sont-ils prophètes? Tous sont-ils docteurs?

29 An aspail sibh uile? An fáithe sibh uile? An múinteoirí sibh uile? An bhfuil cumas míorúiltí agaibh uile?

29 ¿Son todos apóstoles? ¿son todos profetas? ¿todos doctores? ¿todos facultades?

29 Sind sie alle Apostel? Sind sie alle Propheten? Sind sie alle Lehrer? Sind sie alle Wundertäter?

30 Are all able to take away disease? have all the power of tongues? are all able to give their sense?

30 Tous ont-ils le don des miracles? Tous ont-ils le don des guérisons? Tous parlent-ils en langues? Tous interprètent-ils?

30 An bhfuil buanna leighis agaibh uile? An bhfuil labhairt i dteangacha agaibh uile? An bhfuil míniú teangacha agaibh uile? An Grá

30 ¿Tienen todos dones de sanidad? ¿hablan todos lenguas? ¿interpretan todos?

30 Haben sie alle Gaben, gesund zu machen? Reden sie alle mancherlei Sprachen? Können sie alle auslegen?

31 But let your desires be turned to the more important things given by the Spirit. And now I am pointing out to you an even better way.

31 Is ar na tíolacthaí is tábhachtaí ba cheart tóir a bheith agaibh agus táimse chun ríbhealach a thaispeáint daoibh.
