1 Let everyone put himself under the authority of the higher powers, because there is no power which is not of God, and all powers are ordered by God.
1 Que toute personne soit soumise aux autorités supérieures; car il n'y a point d'autorité qui ne vienne de Dieu, et les autorités qui existent ont été instituées de Dieu.

1 TODA alma se someta á las potestades superiores; porque no hay potestad sino de Dios; y las que son, de Dios son ordenadas.
1 Jedermann sei untertan der Obrigkeit, die Gewalt über ihn hat. Denn es ist keine Obrigkeit ohne von Gott; wo aber Obrigkeit ist, die ist von Gott verordnet.
2 For which reason everyone who puts himself against the authority puts himself against the order of God: and those who are against it will get punishment for themselves.
2 C'est pourquoi celui qui s'oppose à l'autorité résiste à l'ordre que Dieu a établi, et ceux qui résistent attireront une condamnation sur eux-mêmes.
2 Aon duine, mar sin, a chuireann in aghaidh an údaráis, is in aghaidh ordú Dé a bhíonn sé ag cur, agus na daoine a chuireann ina aghaidh sin tarraingeoidh siad daorbhreith orthu féin.
2 Asi que, el que se opone á la potestad, á la ordenación de Dios resiste: y los que resisten, ellos mismos ganan condenación para sí.
2 Wer sich nun der Obrigkeit widersetzt, der widerstrebt Gottes Ordnung; die aber widerstreben, werden über sich ein Urteil empfangen.
3 For rulers are not a cause of fear to the good work but to the evil. If you would have no fear of the authority, do good and you will have praise;
3 Ce n'est pas pour une bonne action, c'est pour une mauvaise, que les magistrats sont à redouter. Veux-tu ne pas craindre l'autorité? Fais-le bien, et tu auras son approbation.
3 Ní don dea-ghníomh is baol na rialtóirí ach don drochghníomh. An áil leat gan eagla fhear an údaráis a bheith ort? Más áil déan an mhaith agus beidh moladh agat uaidh
3 Porque los magistrados no son para temor al que bien hace, sino al malo. ¿Quieres pues no temer la potestad? haz lo bueno, y tendrás alabanza de ella;
3 Denn die Gewaltigen sind nicht den guten Werken, sondern den bösen zu fürchten. Willst du dich aber nicht fürchten vor der Obrigkeit, so tue Gutes, so wirst du Lob von ihr haben.
4 For he is the servant of God to you for good. But if you do evil, have fear; for the sword is not in his hand for nothing: he is God's servant, making God's punishment come on the evil-doer.
4 Le magistrat est serviteur de Dieu pour ton bien. Mais si tu fais le mal, crains; car ce n'est pas en vain qu'il porte l'épée, étant serviteur de Dieu pour exercer la vengeance et punir celui qui fait le mal.

4 Porque es ministro de Dios para tu bien. Mas si hicieres lo malo, teme: porque no en vano lleva el cuchillo; porque es ministro de Dios, vengador para castigo al que hace lo malo.
4 Denn sie ist Gottes Dienerin dir zu gut. Tust du aber Böses, so fürchte dich; denn sie trägt das Schwert nicht umsonst; sie ist Gottes Dienerin, eine Rächerin zur Strafe über den, der Böses tut.
5 So put yourselves under the authority, not for fear of wrath, but because you have the knowledge of what is right.
5 Il est donc nécessaire d'être soumis, non seulement par crainte de la punition, mais encore par motif de conscience.
5 Ar an ábhar sin is éigean géilleadh don údarás agus ní le heagla na díbheirge amháin é ach ar mhaithe leis an gcoinsias chomh maith.
5 Por lo cual es necesario que le estéis sujetos, no solamente por la ira, mas aun por la conciencia.
5 Darum ist's not, untertan zu sein, nicht allein um der Strafe willen, sondern auch um des Gewissens willen.
6 For the same reason, make payment of taxes; because the authority is God's servant, to take care of such things at all times.
6 C'est aussi pour cela que vous payez les impôts. Car les magistrats sont des ministres de Dieu entièrement appliqués à cette fonction.
6 Is ar an ábhar céanna a íocann sibh cánacha; feidhmeannaigh Dé is ea na bailitheoirí agus caitheann siad a ndúthracht ar an obair seo.
6 Porque por esto pagáis también los tributos; porque son ministros de Dios que sirven á esto mismo.
6 Derhalben müßt ihr auch Schoß geben; denn sie sind Gottes Diener, die solchen Schutz handhaben.
7 Give to all what is their right: taxes to him whose they are, payment to him whose right it is, fear to whom fear, honour to whom honour is to be given.
7 Rendez à tous ce qui leur est dû: l'impôt à qui vous devez l'impôt, le tribut à qui vous devez le tribut, la crainte à qui vous devez la crainte, l'honneur à qui vous devez l'honneur.

7 Pagad á todos lo que debéis: al que tributo, tributo; al que pecho, pecho; al que temor, temor; al que honra, honra.
7 So gebet nun jedermann, was ihr schuldig seid: Schoß, dem der Schoß gebührt; Zoll, dem der Zoll gebührt; Furcht, dem die Furcht gebührt; Ehre, dem die Ehre gebührt.
8 Be in debt for nothing, but to have love for one another: for he who has love for his neighbour has kept all the law.
8 Ne devez rien à personne, si ce n'est de vous aimer les uns les autres; car celui qui aime les autres a accompli la loi.
8 Ná bíodh fiacha ar bith ag aon duine oraibh ach amháin fiacha an ghrá a thabhairt dá chéile. Mar an té a thugann grá dá chomharsa tá an dlí comhlíonta aige.
8 No debáis á nadie nada, sino amaros unos á otros; porque el que ama al prójimo, cumplió la ley.
8 Seid niemand nichts schuldig, als daß ihr euch untereinander liebt; denn wer den andern liebt, der hat das Gesetz erfüllt.
9 And this, Do not be untrue in married life, Do not put to death, Do not take what is another's, Do not have desire for what is another's, and if there is any other order, it is covered by this word, Have love for your neighbour as for yourself.
9 En effet, les commandements: Tu ne commettras point d'adultère, tu ne tueras point, tu ne déroberas point, tu ne convoiteras point, et ceux qu'il peut encore y avoir, se résument dans cette parole: Tu aimeras ton prochain comme toi-même.
9 Na haitheanta “ná déan drúise,” “ná déan marú,” “ná déan goid,” “ná santaigh,” agus aon aithne eile dá bhfuil ann, tá coimriú déanta orthu go léir san abairt seo: “Gráigh do chomharsa mar thú féin.”
9 Porque: No adulterarás; no matarás; no hurtarás; no dirás falso testimonio; no codiciarás: y si hay algún otro mandamiento, en esta sentencia se comprende sumariamente: Amarás á tu prójimo como á ti mismo.
9 Denn was da gesagt ist: "Du sollst nicht ehebrechen; du sollst nicht töten; du sollst nicht stehlen; du sollst nicht falsch Zeugnis geben; dich soll nichts gelüsten", und so ein anderes Gebot mehr ist, das wird in diesen Worten zusammengefaßt: "Du sollst deinen Nächsten lieben wie dich selbst."
10 Love does no wrong to his neighbour, so love makes the law complete.
10 L'amour ne fait point de mal au prochain: l'amour est donc l'accomplissement de la loi.

11 See then that the time has come for you to be awake from sleep: for now is your salvation nearer than when you first had faith.
11 Cela importe d'autant plus que vous savez en quel temps nous sommes: c'est l'heure de vous réveiller enfin du sommeil, car maintenant le salut est plus près de nous que lorsque nous avons cru.
11 Agus de bhrí go dtuigeann sibh an uair atá ann, is mithid daoibh dúiseacht as bhur gcodladh, mar is gaire dúinn ár slánú anois ná nuair a ghlacamar leis an gcreideamh.
11 Y esto, conociendo el tiempo, que es ya hora de levantarnos del sueño; porque ahora nos está más cerca nuestra salud que cuando creímos.
11 Und weil wir solches wissen, nämlich die Zeit, daß die Stunde da ist, aufzustehen vom Schlaf (sintemal unser Heil jetzt näher ist, denn da wir gläubig wurden;
12 The night is far gone, and the day is near: so let us put off the works of the dark, arming ourselves with light,
12 La nuit est avancée, le jour approche. Dépouillons-nous donc des oeuvres des ténèbres, et revêtons les armes de la lumière.
12 Tá sé i bhfad amach san oíche agus ní fada uainn an lá. Caithimis oibreacha an dorchadais uainn, mar sin, agus cuirimis orainn cathéide an tsolais.
12 La noche ha pasado, y ha llegado el día: echemos, pues, las obras de las tinieblas, y vistámonos las armas de luz,
12 die Nacht ist vorgerückt, der Tag aber nahe herbeigekommen): so lasset uns ablegen die Werke der Finsternis und anlegen die Waffen des Lichtes.
13 With right behaviour as in the day; not in pleasure-making and drinking, not in bad company and unclean behaviour, not in fighting and envy.
13 Marchons honnêtement, comme en plein jour, loin des excès et de l'ivrognerie, de la luxure et de l'impudicité, des querelles et des jalousies.
13 Mairimis go béasach mar dhaoine atá faoi sholas an lae, gan ragairne gan meisce, gan striapachas gan drúise, gan achrann gan éad.
13 Andemos como de día, honestamente: no en glotonerías y borracheras, no en lechos y disoluciones, no en pedencias y envidia:
13 Lasset uns ehrbar wandeln als am Tage, nicht in Fressen und Saufen, nicht in Kammern und Unzucht, nicht in Hader und Neid;
14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not give thought to the flesh to do its desires.
14 Mais revêtez-vous du Seigneur Jésus Christ, et n'ayez pas soin de la chair pour en satisfaire les convoitises.
