Acts 19

1 And after the noise had come to an end, Paul, having sent for the disciples and given them comfort, went away from them to Macedonia.

1 Nuair a mhaolaigh ar an rírá, chuir Pól fios ar na deisceabail agus tar éis comhairle a thabhairt dóibh d'fhág sé slán acu agus d'imigh leis go dtí an Mhacadóin.

2 And when he had gone through those parts and given them much teaching, he came into Greece.

2 Nuair a bhí na críocha sin siúlta aige agus mórán spreagadh á thabhairt aige do na Críostaithe, tháinig sé go dtí an Ghréig agus thug trí mhí ann.

3 And when he had been there three months, because the Jews had made a secret design against him when he was about to take ship for Syria, he made a decision to go back through Macedonia.

3 Bhí sé ar tí dul ar bord loinge go dtí an tSír nuair a rinne na Giúdaigh comhcheilg ina choinne. Chinn sé dá bhrí sin ar dhul ar ais tríd an Macadóin.

4 And Sopater of Beroea, the son of Pyrrhus, and Aristarchus and Secundus of Thessalonica, and Gaius of Derbe, and Timothy, and Tychicus and Trophimus of Asia, went with him as far as Asia.

5 But these had gone before, and were waiting for us at Troas.

5 Chuaigh siadsan ar aghaidh romhainn agus d'fhan siad linn i dTróas.

6 And we went away from Philippi by ship after the days of unleavened bread, and came to them at Troas in five days; and we were there for seven days.

6 Sheolamarna ó Fhilipí i ndiaidh feile an tSlimaráin agus faoi chionn cúig lá thangamar chucu go Tróas, agus thugamar seacht lá ann. Seanmóir Fhadálach i dTróas

7 And on the first day of the week, when we had come together for the holy meal, Paul gave them a talk, for it was his purpose to go away on the day after; and he went on talking till after the middle of the night.

7 Nuair a thangamar le chéile tráthnóna an chéad lá den tseachtain chun arán a bhriseadh, thug Pól seanmóir dóibh mar bhí sé le himeacht lá arna mhárach agus lean sé ag caint go dtí meán oíche.

8 And there were a number of lights in the room where we had come together.

8 Bhí lampaí go leor ar lasadh sa seomra uachtarach ina rabhamar cruinnithe.

9 And a certain young man named Eutychus, who was seated in the window, went into a deep sleep; and while Paul went on talking, being overcome by sleep, he had a fall from the third floor, and was taken up dead.

9 Bhí ógánach darbh ainm Eutachos ina shuí ar leac na fuinneoige agus de réir mar a chuaigh caint Phóil chun fadála thit sé ina chnap codlata agus leis an gcodladh a bhí air thit sé ón tríú hurlár go talamh síos agus nuair a tógadh é bhí sé marbh.

10 And Paul went down and, falling on him, took him in his arms and said, Do not be troubled, for his life is in him.

Tá an t‑anam ann.”

11 And when he had gone up, and had taken the broken bread, he went on talking to them for a long time, even till dawn, and then he went away.

11 Ansin chuaigh sé in airde arís, bhris an t‑arán leo agus chaith sé a chuid. Agus bhí comhrá fada aige leo as sin go maidin.

12 And they took the boy in, living, and were greatly comforted.

12 Thug siadsan an buachaill leo agus é go beo beathach, agus sólás thar na bearta orthu.

13 But we, going before him by ship, went to Assos with the purpose of taking Paul in there: for so he had given orders, because he himself was coming by land.

13 Chuamarna ar aghaidh go dtí an long agus seo chun siúil linn go dtí Asos, áit a rabhamar chun Pól a thógáil ar bord de réir mar a bhí socraithe aige - mar bhí sé féin le dul ann dá chois.

14 And when he came up with us at Assos, we took him in the ship and went on to Mitylene.

14 Nuair a bhuail sé linn in Asos, thógamar ar bord é agus thángamar go Mitiléiné

15 And going from there by sea, we came on the day after opposite Chios, and touching at Samos on the day after that, we came on the third day to Miletus.

15 agus sheolamar linn as sin agus amárach a bhí chugainn bhíomar os comhair Chíos. Sroicheamar Samos an lá dár gcionn agus an lá ina dhiaidh sin bhaineamar amach Míléatas.

16 For Paul's purpose was to go past Ephesus, so that he might not be kept in Asia; for he was going quickly, in order, if possible, to be at Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.

16 Bhí socair ag Pól seoladh thar Eifeasas i dtreo nach gcuirfí aon mhoill air san Áise mar bhí dithneas air chun bheith in Iarúsailéim i gcomhair lá Cincíse dá mba fhéidir dó é.

17 And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus for the rulers of the church.

17 Chuir sé scéala ó Mhíléatas go hEifeasas dá bhrí sin á iarraidh ar sheanóirí na hEaglaise teacht chuige.

18 And when they had come, he said to them, You yourselves have seen what my life has been like all the time from the day when I first came into Asia,

18 Agus nuair a bhí siad tagtha chuige, labhair seo leo mar a leanas. Aitheasc do Sheanóirí Eifeasas “Tá a fhios agaibh an chuma inar chaith mé gach nóiméad fad a bhí mé in bhur measc ón gcéad lá a leag mé cos lánuiríseal deorach san Áise,

19 Doing the Lord's work without pride, through all the sorrow and troubles which came on me because of the evil designs of the Jews:

19 go raibh mé i mo sheirbhíseach lándeorach don Tiarna ainneoin gach cros dár rug orm trí chealga na nGiúdach;

19 und dem HERRN gedient habe mit aller Demut und mit viel Tränen und Anfechtung, die mir sind widerfahren von den Juden, so mir nachstellten;

20 And how I kept back nothing which might be of profit to you, teaching you publicly and privately,

20 nár cheil mé oraibh rud ar bith a rachadh chun sochair daoibh ach é a fhógairt agus a theagasc daoibh os comhair an tsaoil agus in bhur dtithe;

20 wie ich nichts verhalten habe, das da nützlich ist, daß ich's euch nicht verkündigt hätte und euch gelehrt, öffentlich und sonderlich;

21 Preaching to Jews and to Greeks the need for a turning of the heart to God, and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

22 And now, as you see, I am going to Jerusalem, a prisoner in spirit, having no knowledge of what will come to me there:

22 Et maintenant voici, lié par l'Esprit, je vais à Jérusalem, ne sachant pas ce qui m'y arrivera;

22 Agus anois, féach, agus mé i mo chime ag an Spiorad táim ag dul suas go Iarúsailéim agus gan a fhios agam céard atá in áirithe dom ann

23 Only that the Holy Spirit makes clear to me in every town that prison and pains are waiting for me.

23 ach amháin go bhfuil an Spiorad Naomh á dhearbhú dom in gach cathair dá dtéim gur géibheann agus piolóidí atá ann i mo chomhair.

24 But I put no value on my life, if only at the end of it I may see the work complete which was given to me by the Lord Jesus, to be a witness of the good news of the grace of God.

24 Ach ní fiú tráithnín liom mo bheatha dom féin chomh fada agus a thugaim mo chúrsa agus go gcomhlíonaim an dualgas úd a leag an Tiarna Íosa orm: fianaise a thabhairt ar dhea-scéal ghrásta Dé.”

25 And now I am conscious that you, among whom I have gone about preaching the kingdom, will not see my face again.

25 “Tá a fhios agam anois nach bhfeicfidh sibhse mo ghnúis níos mó, sibhse go léir ar shiúil mé in bhur measc ag fógairt na ríochta.

25 Y ahora, he aquí, yo sé que ninguno de todos vosotros, por quien he pasado predicando el reino de Dios, verá más mi rostro.

26 And so I say to you this day that I am clean from the blood of all men.

26 Dearbhaím daoibh inniu féin, dá bhrí sin, nach bhfuilim freagrach i bhfuil aon duine riamh agaibh,

26 Darum bezeuge ich euch an diesem heutigen Tage, daß ich rein bin von aller Blut;

27 For I have not kept back from you anything of the purpose of God.

27 mar níor staon mé ó bheartas Dé a fhógairt daoibh ina iomláine.

28 Give attention to yourselves, and to all the flock which the Holy Spirit has given into your care, to give food to the church of God, for which he gave his blood.

28 Tugaigí aire daoibh féin mar sin agus don tréad ar fad a bhfuil sibh ceaptha in bhur maoir air ag an Spiorad Naomh chun bheith in bhur n‑aoirí ar an Eaglais a cheannaigh sé dó féin lena chuid fola.”

29 I am conscious that after I am gone, evil wolves will come in among you, doing damage to the flock;

29 “Tá a fhios agam nuair a bheidh mise imithe go dtiocfaidh in bhur measc faolchúnna craosacha nach mbeidh trua ná taise don tréad acu.

29 Porque yo sé que después de mi partida entrarán en medio de vosotros lobos rapaces, que no perdonarán al ganado;

30 And from among yourselves will come men who will give wrong teaching, turning away the disciples after them.

30 Agus tá daoine agaibh féin a éireoidh agus a thabharfaidh teagasc claon d'fhonn deisceabail a mhealladh chucu.

31 So keep watch, having in mind that for three years without resting I was teaching every one of you, day and night, with weeping.

31 Bígí ag faire dá bhrí sin agus cuimhnígí air nár stad mise ar feadh trí bliana ach ag tabhairt comhairle don uile dhuine agaibh de lá is d'oíche agus na deora i mo shúile.

32 And now, I give you into the care of God and the word of his grace, which is able to make you strong and to give you your heritage among all the saints.

32 Fágaim sibh anois faoi choimirce Dé agus bhriathar a ghrásta atá in ann sibh a thógáil suas agus oidhreacht a thabhairt daoibh i measc an phobail naofa go léir.

33 I have had no desire for any man's silver or gold or clothing.

34 You yourselves have seen that with these hands I got what was necessary for me and those who were with me.

34 Tá a fhios agaibh féin gurb iad na lámha seo a choinnigh riar ár gcáis liom féin agus le mo chompánaigh.

35 In all things I was an example to you of how, in your lives, you are to give help to the feeble, and keep in memory the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, There is a greater blessing in giving than in getting.

35 Chuir mé ar bhur súile daoibh i gcónaí gur ag obair mar sin ba cheart cabhrú leis na laga agus cuimhneamh ar ráiteas úd an Tiarna mar a ndúirt sé gur mó is méanar rud a thabhairt uait ná rud a fháíl.”

36 And having said these words, he went down on his knees in prayer with them all.

36 Nuair a bhí an méid sin ráite aige, lig sé é féin ar a ghlúine agus rinne sé guí chun Dé leo go léir.

37 And they were all weeping, falling on Paul's neck and kissing him,

37 Bhí siad go léir ag gol go fuíoch, iad á gcaitheamh féin ar bhráid Phóil agus á mhúchadh le póga.

38 Being sad most of all because he had said that they would not see his face again. And so they went with him to the ship.

38 Is é rud a chuir an chumha ar fad orthu, an focal úd a dúirt sé nach bhfeicfidís a ghnúis ní ba mhó. Agus rinne siad é a thionlacan chun na loinge.

Acts 21
