1 I am the true vine and my Father is the gardener.
1 Je suis le vrai cep, et mon Père est le vigneron.

1 YO soy la vid verdadera, y mi Padre es el labrador.
1 Ich bin der rechte Weinstock, und mein Vater der Weingärtner.
2 He takes away every branch in me which has no fruit, and every branch which has fruit he makes clean, so that it may have more fruit.
2 Tout sarment qui est en moi et qui ne porte pas de fruit, il le retranche; et tout sarment qui porte du fruit, il l'émonde, afin qu'il porte encore plus de fruit.
2 Gach géag ionam nach dtugann toradh, bainfidh sé í; agus gach géag a thugann toradh, bearrfaidh sé í, ionas go dtabharfaidh sí breis toraidh.
2 Todo pámpano que en mí no lleva fruto, le quitará: y todo aquel que lleva fruto, le limpiará, para que lleve más fruto.
2 Eine jeglich Rebe an mir, die nicht Frucht bringt, wird er wegnehmen; und eine jegliche, die da Frucht bringt, wird er reinigen, daß sie mehr Frucht bringe.
3 You are clean, even now, through the teaching which I have given you.
3 Déjà vous êtes purs, à cause de la parole que je vous ai annoncée.
3 Tá sibhse bearrtha de bharr an bhriathair a labhair mé libh.
3 Ya vosotros sois limpios por la palabra que os he hablado.
3 Ihr seid schon rein um des Wortes willen, das ich zu euch geredet habe.
4 Be in me at all times as I am in you. As the branch is not able to give fruit of itself, if it is not still on the vine, so you are not able to do so if you are not in me.
4 Demeurez en moi, et je demeurerai en vous. Comme le sarment ne peut de lui-même porter du fruit, s'il ne demeure attaché au cep, ainsi vous ne le pouvez non plus, si vous ne demeurez en moi.
4 Fanaigí ionamsa, agus mise ionaibh. Faoi mar nach féidir don ghéag toradh a thabhairt uaithi féin, mura bhfanann sí san fhíniúin, sin mar nach féidir daoibhse, mura bhfanann sibh ionamsa.
4 Estad en mí, y yo en vosotros. Como el pámpano no puede llevar fruto de sí mismo, si no estuviere en la vid; así ni vosotros, si no estuviereis en mí.
4 Bleibet in mir und ich in euch. Gleichwie die Rebe kann keine Frucht bringen von ihr selber, sie bleibe denn am Weinstock, also auch ihr nicht, ihr bleibet denn in mir.
5 I am the vine, you are the branches: he who is in me at all times as I am in him, gives much fruit, because without me you are able to do nothing.
5 Je suis le cep, vous êtes les sarments. Celui qui demeure en moi et en qui je demeure porte beaucoup de fruit, car sans moi vous ne pouvez rien faire.
5 Mise an fhíniúin, sibhse na géaga; an té a fhanann ionamsa, agus mise ann, tugann seisean toradh mór uaidh; óir gan mise, ní féidir daoibh aon ní a dhéanamh.
5 Yo soy la vid, vosotros los pámpanos: el que está en mí, y yo en él, éste lleva mucho fruto; porque sin mí nada podéis hacer.
5 Ich bin der Weinstock, ihr seid die Reben. Wer in mir bleibt und ich in ihm, der bringt viele Frucht, denn ohne mich könnt ihr nichts tun.
6 If a man does not keep himself in me, he becomes dead and is cut off like a dry branch; such branches are taken up and put in the fire and burned.
6 Si quelqu'un ne demeure pas en moi, il est jeté dehors, comme le sarment, et il sèche; puis on ramasse les sarments, on les jette au feu, et ils brûlent.
6 Cibé nach bhfanfaidh ionamsa, caithfear amach é mar ghéag, agus feofaidh sé; agus tógfar agus caithfear sa tine iad, agus dófar iad.
6 El que en mí no estuviere, será echado fuera como mal pámpano, y se secará; y los cogen, y los echan en el fuego, y arden.
6 Wer nicht in mir bleibt, der wird weggeworfen wie eine Rebe und verdorrt, und man sammelt sie und wirft sie ins Feuer, und müssen brennen.
7 If you are in me at all times, and my words are in you, then anything for which you make a request will be done for you.
7 Si vous demeurez en moi, et que mes paroles demeurent en vous, demandez ce que vous voudrez, et cela vous sera accordé.
7 Má fhanann sibh ionamsa agus má fhanann mo bhriathra ionaibh, iarrfaidh sibh cibé ní is mian libh agus déanfar daoibh é.
7 Si estuviereis en mí, y mis palabras estuvieren en vosotros, pedid todo lo que quisiereis, y os será hecho.
7 So ihr in mir bleibet und meine Worte in euch bleiben, so werdet ihr bitten, was ihr wollt, und es wird euch widerfahren.
8 Here is my Father's glory, in that you give much fruit and so are my true disciples.
8 Si vous portez beaucoup de fruit, c'est ainsi que mon Père sera glorifié, et que vous serez mes disciples.
8 Tugadh glóir do m'Athair sa mhéid go dtugann sibhse toradh mór uaibh, agus go mbeidh sibh in bhur ndeisceabail agamsa.
8 En esto es glorificado mi Padre, en que llevéis mucho fruto, y seáis así mis discípulos.
8 Darin wird mein Vater geehrt, daß ihr viel Frucht bringet und werdet meine Jünger.
9 Even as the Father has given me his love, so I have given my love to you: be ever in my love.
9 Comme le Père m'a aimé, je vous ai aussi aimés. Demeurez dans mon amour.
9 Faoi mar a thug an tAthair grá domsa, thug mise grá daoibhse chomh maith. Fanaigí i mo ghrá.
9 Como el Padre me amó, también yo os he amado: estad en mi amor.
9 Gleichwie mich mein Vater liebt, also liebe ich euch auch. Bleibet in meiner Liebe!
10 If you keep my laws, you will be ever in my love, even as I have kept my Father's laws, and am ever in his love.
10 Si vous gardez mes commandements, vous demeurerez dans mon amour, de même que j'ai gardé les commandements de mon Père, et que je demeure dans son amour.
10 Má choinníonn sibh m'aitheanta, fanfaidh sibh i mo ghrá, faoi mar a choinnigh mise aitheanta m'Athar, agus a fhanaim ina ghrá.
10 Si guardareis mis mandamientos, estaréis en mi amor; como yo también he guardado los mandamientos de mi Padre, y estoy en su amor.
10 So ihr meine Gebote haltet, so bleibet ihr in meiner Liebe, gleichwie ich meines Vaters Gebote halte und bleibe in seiner Liebe.
11 I have said these things to you so that I may have joy in you and so that your joy may be complete.
11 Je vous ai dit ces choses, afin que ma joie soit en vous, et que votre joie soit parfaite.
11 Dúirt mé na nithe seo libh chun go mbeadh mo lúcháir-sé ionaibh agus go mbeadh bhur lúcháir-sé iomlán.
11 Estas cosas os he hablado, para que mi gozo esté en vosotros, y vuestro gozo sea cumplido.
11 Solches rede ich zu euch, auf daß meine Freude in euch bleibe und eure Freude vollkommen werde.
12 This is the law I give you: Have love one for another, even as I have love for you.
12 C'est ici mon commandement: Aimez-vous les uns les autres, comme je vous ai aimés.
12 Is í seo m'aithne: sibh a thabhairt grá dá chéile, faoi mar a thug mé grá daoibh.
12 Este es mi mandamiento: Que os améis los unos á los otros, como yo os he amado.
12 Das ist mein Gebot, daß ihr euch untereinander liebet, gleichwie ich euch liebe.
13 Greater love has no man than this, that a man gives up his life for his friends.
13 Il n'y a pas de plus grand amour que de donner sa vie pour ses amis.
13 Níl grá ag aon duine níos mó ná seo go dtabharfaidh duine a anam ar son a chairde.
13 Nadie tiene mayor amor que este, que ponga alguno su vida por sus amigos.
13 Niemand hat größere Liebe denn die, daß er sein Leben läßt für seine Freunde.
14 You are my friends, if you do what I give you orders to do.
14 Vous êtes mes amis, si vous faites ce que je vous commande.

14 Vosotros sois mis amigos, si hiciereis las cosas que yo os mando.
14 Ihr seid meine Freunde, so ihr tut, was ich euch gebiete.
15 No longer do I give you the name of servants; because a servant is without knowledge of what his master is doing: I give you the name of friends, because I have given you knowledge of all the things which my Father has said to me.
15 Je ne vous appelle plus serviteurs, parce que le serviteur ne sait pas ce que fait son maître; mais je vous ai appelés amis, parce que je vous ai fait connaître tout ce que j'ai appris de mon Père.
15 Ní seirbhísigh a thugaim oraibh feasta, mar ní eol do sheirbhíseach gnó a mháistir. Ach thug mé cairde oraibh, óir gach a gcuala ó m'Athair, chuir mé in iúl daoibh é.
15 Ya no os llamaré siervos, porque el siervo no sabe lo que hace su señor: mas os he llamado amigos, porque todas las cosas que oí de mi Padre, os he hecho notorias.
15 Ich sage hinfort nicht, daß ihr Knechte seid; denn ein Knecht weiß nicht, was sein Herr tut. Euch aber habe ich gesagt, daß ihr Freunde seid; denn alles, was ich habe von meinem Vater gehört, habe ich euch kundgetan.
16 You did not take me for yourselves, but I took you for myself; and I gave you the work of going about and producing fruit which will be for ever; so that whatever request you make to the Father in my name he may give it to you.
16 Ce n'est pas vous qui m'avez choisi; mais moi, je vous ai choisis, et je vous ai établis, afin que vous alliez, et que vous portiez du fruit, et que votre fruit demeure, afin que ce que vous demanderez au Père en mon nom, il vous le donne.
16 Ní sibhse a rinne mise a thoghadh, ach mise a rinne sibhse a thoghadh, agus a cheapadh chun go n‑imeodh sibh agus toradh a thabhairt agus go mairfeadh bhur dtoradh; i dtreo, cibé ní a d'iarrfadh sibh ar an Athair i m'ainm, go dtabharfadh sé daoibh é.
16 No me elegisteis vosotros á mí, mas yo os elegí á vosotros; y os he puesto para que vayáis y llevéis fruto, y vuestro fruto permanezca: para que todo lo que pidiereis del Padre en mi nombre, él os lo dé.
16 Ihr habt mich nicht erwählt; sondern ich habe euch erwählt und gesetzt, daß ihr hingeht und Frucht bringt und eure Frucht bleibe, auf daß, so ihr den Vater bittet in meinem Namen, er's euch gebe.
17 So this is my law for you: Have love one for another.
17 Ce que je vous commande, c'est de vous aimer les uns les autres.

17 Esto os mando: Que os améis los unos á los otros.
17 Das gebiete ich euch, daß ihr euch untereinander liebet.
18 If you are hated by the world, keep in mind that I was hated by the world before you.
18 Si le monde vous hait, sachez qu'il m'a haï avant vous.
18 “Má thugann an saol fuath daoibh, bíodh a fhios agaibh gur thug sé fuath domsa romhaibh.
18 Si el mundo os aborrece, sabed que á mí me aborreció antes que á vosotros.
18 So euch die Welt haßt, so wisset, daß sie mich vor euch gehaßt hat.
19 If you were of the world, you would be loved by the world: but because you are not of the world, but I have taken you out of the world, you are hated by the world.
19 Si vous étiez du monde, le monde aimerait ce qui est à lui; mais parce que vous n'êtes pas du monde, et que je vous ai choisis du milieu du monde, à cause de cela le monde vous hait.
19 Dá mba den saol sibh bheadh cion ag an saol ar a chuid féin. Ach de bhrí nach den saol sibh ach go ndearna mise sibh a thoghadh as an saol, uime sin atá fuath ag an saol daoibh.
19 Si fuerais del mundo, el mundo amaría lo suyo; mas porque no sois del mundo, antes yo os elegí del mundo, por eso os aborrece el mundo.
19 Wäret ihr von der Welt, so hätte die Welt das Ihre lieb; weil ihr aber nicht von der Welt seid, sondern ich habe euch von der Welt erwählt, darum haßt euch die Welt.
20 Keep in mind the words I said to you, A servant is not greater than his lord. If they were cruel to me, they will be cruel to you; if they kept my words, they will keep yours.
20 Souvenez-vous de la parole que je vous ai dite: Le serviteur n'est pas plus grand que son maître. S'ils m'ont persécuté, ils vous persécuteront aussi; s'ils ont gardé ma parole, ils garderont aussi la vôtre.
20 Cuimhnígí ar an bhfocal a dúirt mé libh: ‘Níl aon seirbhíseach níos mó ná a mháistir. Má rinne siad géarleanúint ormsa, déanfaidh siad géarleanúint oraibhse chomh maith. Má choinnigh siad mo bhriatharsa, coinneoidh siad bhur mbriatharsa chomh maith.
20 Acordaos de la palabra que yo os he dicho: No es el siervo mayor que su señor. Si á mí mé han perseguido, también á vosotros perseguirán: si han guardado mi palabra, también guardarán la vuestra.
20 Gedenket an mein Wort, das ich euch gesagt habe: "Der Knecht ist nicht größer denn sein Herr." Haben sie mich verfolgt, sie werden euch auch verfolgen; haben sie mein Wort gehalten, so werden sie eures auch halten.
21 They will do all this to you because of my name--because they have no knowledge of him who sent me.
21 Mais ils vous feront toutes ces choses à cause de mon nom, parce qu'ils ne connaissent pas celui qui m'a envoyé.
21 Ach déanfaidh siad na nithe seo go léir libh, ar son m'ainmse, mar nach raibh aithne acu ar an té a chuir uaidh mé.
21 Mas todo esto os harán por causa de mi nombre, porque no conocen al que me ha enviado.
21 Aber das alles werden sie euch tun um meines Namens willen; denn sie kennen den nicht, der mich gesandt hat.
22 If I had not come and been their teacher they would have had no sin: but now they have no reason to give for their sin.
22 Si je n'étais pas venu et que je ne leur eusses point parlé, ils n'auraient pas de péché; mais maintenant ils n'ont aucune excuse de leur péché.
22 Mura dtiocfainn agus labhairt leo, ní bheadh peaca orthu. Ach anois níl leithsceal acu i dtaobh a bpeaca.
22 Si no hubiera venido, ni les hubiera hablado, no tendrían pecado, mas ahora no tienen excusa de su pecado.
22 Wenn ich nicht gekommen wäre und hätte es ihnen gesagt, so hätten sie keine Sünde; nun aber können sie nichts vorwenden, ihre Sünde zu entschuldigen.
23 He who has hate for me has hate for my Father.
23 Celui qui me hait, hait aussi mon Père.

23 Wer mich haßt, der haßt auch meinen Vater.
24 If I had not done among them the works which no other man ever did, they would have had no sin: but now they have seen, and they have had hate in their hearts for me and my Father.
24 Si je n'avais pas fait parmi eux des oeuvres que nul autre n'a faites, ils n'auraient pas de péché; mais maintenant ils les ont vues, et ils ont haï et moi et mon Père.

24 Si no hubiese hecho entre ellos obras cuales ningún otro ha hecho, no tendrían pecado; mas ahora, y las han visto, y me aborrecen á mí y á mi Padre.
24 Hätte ich nicht die Werke getan unter ihnen, die kein anderer getan hat, so hätten sie keine Sünde; nun aber haben sie es gesehen und hassen doch beide, mich und den Vater.
25 This comes about so that the writing in their law may be made true, Their hate for me was without cause.
25 Mais cela est arrivé afin que s'accomplît la parole qui est écrite dans leur loi: Ils m'ont haï sans cause.
25 Ach ionas go gcomhlíonfaí an focal atá scríofa sa dlí acu [é sin]: ‘Thug siad fuath dom gan chúis.’
25 Mas para que se cumpla la palabra que está escrita en su ley: Que sin causa me aborrecieron.
25 Doch daß erfüllet werde der Spruch, in ihrem Gesetz geschrieben: "Sie hassen mich ohne Ursache."
26 When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father even the Spirit of true knowledge who comes from the Father--he will give witness about me;
26 Quand sera venu le consolateur, que je vous enverrai de la part du Père, l'Esprit de vérité, qui vient du Père, il rendra témoignage de moi;
26 Nuair a thiocfaidh an tAbhcóide a chuirfidh mé chugaibh ón Athair, Spiorad na Fírinne a ghluaiseann ón Athair, déanfaidh sé fianaise orm.
26 Empero cuando viniere el Consolador, el cual yo os enviaré del Padre, el Espíritu de verdad, el cual procede del Padre, él dará testimonio de mí.
26 Wenn aber der Tröster kommen wird, welchen ich euch senden werde vom Vater, der Geist der Wahrheit, der vom Vater ausgeht, der wird zeugen von mir.
27 And you, in addition, will give witness because you have been with me from the first.
27 et vous aussi, vous rendrez témoignage, parce que vous êtes avec moi dès le commencement.
