1 And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, came back from the Jordan, and was guided by the Spirit in the waste land

2 For forty days, being tested by the Evil One. And he had no food in those days; and when they came to an end, he was in need of food.
2 où il fut tenté par le diable pendant quarante jours. Il ne mangea rien durant ces jours-là, et, après qu'ils furent écoulés, il eut faim.

2 und ward vierzig Tage lang vom Teufel versucht. Und er aß nichts in diesen Tagen; und da sie ein Ende hatten, hungerte ihn darnach.
3 And the Evil One said to him, If you are the Son of God, give orders to this stone to become bread.
3 Le diable lui dit: Si tu es Fils de Dieu, ordonne à cette pierre qu'elle devienne du pain.
3 Dúirt an diabhal leis: “Más tú Mac Dé, abair leis an gcloch seo arán a dhéanamh di.”
3 Entonces el diablo le dijo: Si eres Hijo de Dios, di á esta piedra que se haga pan.
3 Der Teufel aber sprach zu ihm: Bist du Gottes Sohn, so sprich zu dem Stein, daß er Brot werde.
4 And Jesus made answer to him, It has been said in the Writings, Bread is not man's only need.
4 Jésus lui répondit: Il est écrit: L'Homme ne vivra pas de pain seulement.
4 Agus d'fhreagair Íosa é: “Tá scríofa: ‘Ní ar arán amháin a mhairfidh an duine.’ ”
4 Y Jesús respondiéndole, dijo: Escrito está: Que no con pan solo vivirá el hombre, mas con toda palabra de Dios.
4 Und Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Es steht geschrieben: "Der Mensch lebt nicht allein vom Brot, sondern von einem jeglichen Wort Gottes."
5 And he took him up and let him see all the kingdoms of the earth in a minute of time.
5 Le diable, l'ayant élevé, lui montra en un instant tous les royaumes de la terre,

5 Y le llevó el diablo á un alto monte, y le mostró en un momento de tiempo todos los reinos de la tierra.
5 Und der Teufel führte ihn auf einen hohen Berg und zeigte ihm alle Reiche der ganzen Welt in einem Augenblick
6 And the Evil One said, I will give you authority over all these, and the glory of them, for it has been given to me, and I give it to anyone at my pleasure.
6 et lui dit: Je te donnerai toute cette puissance, et la gloire de ces royaumes; car elle m'a été donnée, et je la donne à qui je veux.
6 agus dúirt an diabhal leis: “Tabharfaidh mé duit an forlámhas seo uile agus a nglóir siúd, óir is ar mo láimh a tugadh é, agus tugaim dó cibé is áil liom é.
6 Y le dijo el diablo: A ti te daré toda esta potestad, y la gloria de ellos; porque á mí es entregada, y á quien quiero la doy:
6 und sprach zu ihm: Alle diese Macht will ich dir geben und ihre Herrlichkeit; denn sie ist mir übergeben, und ich gebe sie, welchem ich will.
7 If then you will give worship to me, it will all be yours.
7 Si donc tu te prosternes devant moi, elle sera toute à toi.
7 Dá bhrí sin, má dhéanann tusa adhradh i mo láthair, is leat é uile.”
7 Pues si tú adorares delante de mí, serán todos tuyos.
7 So du nun mich willst anbeten, so soll es alles dein sein.
8 And Jesus in answer said to him, It has been said in the Writings, Give worship to the Lord your God, and be his servant only.
8 Jésus lui répondit: Il est écrit: Tu adoreras le Seigneur, ton Dieu, et tu le serviras lui seul.
8 Dúirt Íosa leis á fhreagairt: “Tá scríofa: ‘Adharfaidh tú an Tiarna do Dhia, agus is dó amháin a bheidh tú ag seirbhís.’ ”
8 Y respondiendo Jesús, le dijo: Vete de mí, Satanás, porque escrito está: A tu Señor Dios adorarás, y á él solo servirás.
8 Jesus antwortete ihm und sprach: Es steht geschrieben: "Du sollst Gott, deinen HERRN, anbeten und ihm allein dienen."
9 And he took him to Jerusalem and put him on the highest point of the Temple and said to him, If you are the Son of God, let yourself go down from here; for it is said in the Writings,
9 Le diable le conduisit encore à Jérusalem, le plaça sur le haut du temple, et lui dit: Si tu es Fils de Dieu, jette-toi d'ici en bas; car il est écrit:

9 Y le llevó á Jerusalem, y púsole sobre las almenas del templo, y le dijo: Si eres Hijo de Dios, échate de aquí abajo:
9 Und er führte ihn gen Jerusalem und stellte ihn auf des Tempels Zinne und sprach zu ihm: Bist du Gottes Sohn, so laß dich von hinnen hinunter
10 He will give his angels orders to take care of you:
10 Il donnera des ordres à ses anges à ton sujet, Afin qu'ils te gardent;
10 óir tá scríofa: ‘Tabharfaidh sé ordú dá aingil mar gheall ort, chun go ngardálfaidís tú’;
10 Porque escrito está: Que á sus ángeles mandará de ti, que te guarden;
10 denn es steht geschrieben: "Er wird befehlen seinen Engeln von dir, daß sie dich bewahren
11 And, In their hands they will keep you up, so that your foot may not be crushed against a stone.
11 et: Ils te porteront sur les mains, De peur que ton pied ne heurte contre une pierre.

11 Y En las manos te llevarán, Porque no dañes tu pie en piedra.
11 und auf den Händen tragen, auf daß du nicht etwa deinen Fuß an einen Stein stößt."
12 And Jesus made answer and said to him, It is said in the Writings, You may not put the Lord your God to the test.
12 Jésus lui répondit: Il es dit: Tu ne tenteras point le Seigneur, ton Dieu.

13 And when all these tests were ended the Evil One went away from him for a time.
13 Après l'avoir tenté de toutes ces manières, le diable s'éloigna de lui jusqu'à un moment favorable.

14 And Jesus came back to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and the news of him went through all the country round about.

15 And he was teaching in their Synagogues and all men gave him praise.

16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been as a child, and he went, as his way was, into the Synagogue on the Sabbath, and got up to give a reading.

17 And the book of the prophet Isaiah was given to him and, opening the book, he came on the place where it is said,

18 The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because I am marked out by him to give good news to the poor; he has sent me to make well those who are broken-hearted; to say that the prisoners will be let go, and the blind will see, and to make the wounded free from their chains,
18 L'Esprit du Seigneur est sur moi, Parce qu'il m'a oint pour annoncer une bonne nouvelle aux pauvres; Il m'a envoyé pour guérir ceux qui ont le coeur brisé,

18 El Espíritu del Señor es sobre mí, Por cuanto me ha ungido para dar buenas nuevas á los pobres: Me ha enviado para sanar á los quebrantados de corazón; Para pregonar á los cautivos libertad, Y á los ciegos vista; Para poner en libertad á los quebrantados:
18 "Der Geist des HERRN ist bei mir, darum, daß er mich gesalbt hat; er hat mich gesandt, zu verkündigen das Evangelium den Armen, zu heilen die zerstoßenen Herzen, zu predigen den Gefangenen, daß sie los sein sollten, und den Blinden das Gesicht und den Zerschlagenen, daß sie frei und ledig sein sollen,
19 To give knowledge that the year of the Lord's good pleasure is come.
19 Pour proclamer aux captifs la délivrance, Et aux aveugles le recouvrement de la vue, Pour renvoyer libres les opprimés, Pour publier une année de grâce du Seigneur.

20 And shutting the book he gave it back to the servant and took his seat: and the eyes of all in the Synagogue were fixed on him.

21 Then he said to them, Today this word has come true in your hearing.
21 Alors il commença à leur dire: Aujourd'hui cette parole de l'Écriture, que vous venez d'entendre, est accomplie.

21 Y comenzó á decirles: Hoy se ha cumplido esta Escritura en vuestros oídos.
21 Und er fing an, zu sagen zu ihnen: Heute ist diese Schrift erfüllt vor euren Ohren.
22 And they were all giving witness, with wonder, to the words of grace which came from his mouth: and they said, Is not this the son of Joseph?
22 Et tous lui rendaient témoignage; ils étaient étonnés des paroles de grâce qui sortaient de sa bouche, et ils disaient: N'est-ce pas le fils de Joseph?

22 Y todos le daban testimonio, y estaban maravillados de las palabras de gracia que salían de su boca, y decían: ¿No es éste el hijo de José?
22 Und sie gaben alle Zeugnis von ihm und wunderten sich der holdseligen Worte, die aus seinem Munde gingen, und sprachen: "Ist das nicht Josephs Sohn?"
23 And he said to them, Without doubt you will say to me, Let the medical man make himself well: the things which to our knowledge were done at Capernaum, do them here in your country.
23 Jésus leur dit: Sans doute vous m'appliquerez ce proverbe: Médecin, guéris-toi toi-même; et vous me direz: Fais ici, dans ta patrie, tout ce que nous avons appris que tu as fait à Capernaüm.
23 Agus dúirt sé leo: “Gan amhras, tagróidh sibh liom an seanfhocal: ‘A lia, leighis tú féin. Na nithe a chualamar déanta i gCafarnáum, déan anseo iad freisin i do dhúiche féin.’ ”
23 Y les dijo: Sin duda me diréis este refrán: Médico, cúrate á ti mismo: de tantas cosas que hemos oído haber sido hechas en Capernaum, haz también aquí en tu tierra.
23 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Ihr werdet freilich zu mir sagen dies Sprichwort: Arzt, hilf dir selber! Denn wie große Dinge haben wir gehört, zu Kapernaum geschehen! Tue also auch hier, in deiner Vaterstadt.
24 And he said to them, Truly I say to you, No prophet is honoured in his country.
24 Mais, ajouta-t-il, je vous le dis en vérité, aucun prophète n'est bien reçu dans sa patrie.
24 Ach dúirt sé: “Deirim libh go fírinneach, fáidh ar bith ní ghlactar ina dhúiche féin.
24 Y dijo: De cierto os digo, que ningún profeta es acepto en su tierra.
24 Er sprach aber: Wahrlich, ich sage euch: "Kein Prophet ist angenehm in seinem Vaterlande.
25 Truly I say to you, There were a number of widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up for three years and six months and there was no food in the land;
25 Je vous le dis en vérité: il y avait plusieurs veuves en Israël du temps d'Élie, lorsque le ciel fut fermé trois ans et six mois et qu'il y eut une grande famine sur toute la terre;

25 Mas en verdad os digo, que muchas viudas había en Israel en los días de Elías, cuando el cielo fué cerrado por tres años y seis meses, que hubo una grande hambre en toda la tierra;
25 Aber in der Wahrheit sage ich euch: Es waren viele Witwen in Israel zu Elia's Zeiten, da der Himmel verschlossen war drei Jahre und sechs Monate, da eine große Teuerung war im ganzen Lande
26 But Elijah was not sent to one of them, but only to Zarephath, in the land of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.
26 et cependant Élie ne fut envoyé vers aucune d'elles, si ce n'est vers une femme veuve, à Sarepta, dans le pays de Sidon.
26 agus ní chun aon duine acu a cuireadh Éilias ach chun mná baintrí i Saireipte i dtír na Síodóine.
26 Pero á ninguna de ellas fué enviado Elías, sino á Sarepta de Sidón, á una mujer viuda.
26 und zu deren keiner ward Elia gesandt denn allein gen Sarepta der Sidonier zu einer Witwe.
27 And there were a number of lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and not one of them was made clean, but only Naaman the Syrian.
27 Il y avait aussi plusieurs lépreux en Israël du temps d'Élisée, le prophète; et cependant aucun d'eux ne fut purifié, si ce n'est Naaman le Syrien.
27 Agus bhí mórán lobhar in Iosrael le linn Eilíseá fáidh, ach aon duine acu sin níor glanadh ach Námán an Suíreach.”
27 Y muchos leprosos había en Israel en tiempo del profeta Eliseo; mas ninguno de ellos fué limpio, sino Naamán el Siro.
27 Und viele Aussätzige waren in Israel zu des Propheten Elisa Zeiten; und deren keiner wurde gereinigt denn allein Naeman aus Syrien.
28 And all who were in the Synagogue were very angry when these things were said to them.
28 Ils furent tous remplis de colère dans la synagogue, lorsqu'ils entendirent ces choses.
28 Agus a raibh sa tsionagóg, nuair a chuala siad an méid sin, líon siad d'fheirg,
28 Entonces todos en la sinagoga fueron llenos de ira, oyendo estas cosas;
28 Und sie wurden voll Zorns alle, die in der Schule waren, da sie das hörten,
29 And they got up and took him out of the town to the edge of the mountain on which their town was, so that they might send him down to his death.
29 Et s'étant levés, ils le chassèrent de la ville, et le menèrent jusqu'au sommet de la montagne sur laquelle leur ville était bâtie, afin de le précipiter en bas.

29 Y levantándose, le echaron fuera de la ciudad, y le llevaron hasta la cumbre del monte sobre el cual la ciudad de ellos estaba edificada, para despeñarle.
29 und standen auf und stießen ihn zur Stadt hinaus und führten ihn auf einen Hügel des Berges, darauf ihre Stadt gebaut war, daß sie ihn hinabstürzten.
30 But he came through them and went on his way.
30 Mais Jésus, passant au milieu d'eux, s'en alla.

31 And he came down to Capernaum, a town of Galilee; and he was giving them teaching on the Sabbath.
31 Il descendit à Capernaüm, ville de la Galilée; et il enseignait, le jour du sabbat.
31 Chuaigh sé síos go Cafarnáum, cathair sa Ghailíl. Agus bhí sé á dteagasc lá sabóide.
31 Y descendió á Capernaum, ciudad de Galilea. Y los enseñaba en los sábados.
31 Und er kam gen Kapernaum, in die Stadt Galiläas, und lehrte sie am Sabbat.
32 And they were surprised at his teaching, for his word was with authority.
32 On était frappé de sa doctrine; car il parlait avec autorité.
32 Agus ghabh iontas iad faoina theagasc, óir bhí údarás lena bhriathar.
32 Y se maravillaban de su doctrina, porque su palabra era con potestad.
32 Und sie verwunderten sich seiner Lehre; denn seine Rede war gewaltig.
33 And there was a man in the Synagogue who had an unclean spirit; and he gave a loud cry and said,
33 Il se trouva dans la synagogue un homme qui avait un esprit de démon impur, et qui s'écria d'une voix forte:
33 Bhí sa tsionagóg duine a raibh spiorad deamhain mhíghlain ann, agus scread sé amach de ghlór ard:
33 Y estaba en la sinagoga un hombre que tenía un espíritu de un demonio inmundo, el cual exclamó á gran voz,
33 Und es war ein Mensch in der Schule, besessen mit einem unsauberen Teufel; der schrie laut
34 Let us be! what have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? have you come to put an end to us? I have knowledge who you are, the Holy One of God.
34 Ah! qu'y a-t-il entre nous et toi, Jésus de Nazareth? Tu es venu pour nous perdre. Je sais qui tu es: le Saint de Dieu.
34 “Há, cad ab áil leat dínn, a Íosa Nazairéanaigh? Ar tháinig tú chun sinn a mhilleadh? Is eol dom cé hé tú: Naomh Dé.”
34 Diciendo: Déjanos, ¿qué tenemos contigo Jesús Nazareno? ¿has venido á destruirnos? Yo te conozco quién eres, el Santo de Dios.
34 und sprach: Halt, was haben wir mit dir zu schaffen, Jesus von Nazareth? Du bist gekommen uns zu verderben. Ich weiß wer du bist: der heilige Gottes.
35 And Jesus said to him, Be quiet, and come out of him. And when the evil spirit had put him down on the earth in the middle of them, he came out of him, having done him no damage.
35 Jésus le menaça, disant: Tais-toi, et sors de cet homme. Et le démon le jeta au milieu de l'assemblée, et sortit de lui, sans lui faire aucun mal.

35 Y Jesús le increpó, diciendo: Enmudece, y sal de él. Entonces el demonio, derribándole en medio, salió de él, y no le hizo daño alguno.
35 Und Jesus bedrohte ihn und sprach: Verstumme und fahre aus von ihm! Und der Teufel warf ihn mitten unter sie und fuhr von ihm aus und tat ihm keinen Schaden.
36 And wonder came on them all and they said to one another, What are these words? for with authority and power he gives orders to the evil spirits and they come out.
36 Tous furent saisis de stupeur, et ils se disaient les uns aux autres: Quelle est cette parole? il commande avec autorité et puissance aux esprits impurs, et ils sortent!
36 Agus bhí alltacht ar chách agus bhí siad ag caint eatarthu féin a rá: “Cad é mar bhriathar é seo? Óir fógraíonn sé ar na spioraid mhíghlana le húdarás agus le cumhacht, agus gabhann siad amach.”
36 Y hubo espanto en todos, y hablaban unos á otros, diciendo: ¿Qué palabra es ésta, que con autoridad y potencia manda á los espíritus inmundos, y salen?
36 Und es kam eine Furcht über sie alle, und redeten miteinander und sprachen: Was ist das für ein Ding? Er gebietet mit Macht und Gewalt den unsauberen Geistern, und sie fahren aus.
37 And there was much talk about him in all the places round about.
37 Et sa renommée se répandit dans tous les lieux d'alentour.
37 Agus leath a chlú i ngach áit ar fud na tíre.
37 Y la fama de él se divulgaba de todas partes por todos los lugares de la comarca.
37 Und es erscholl sein Gerücht in alle Örter des umliegenden Landes.
38 And he got up and went out of the Synagogue and went into the house of Simon. And Simon's wife's mother was very ill with a burning heat; and in answer to their prayers for her
38 En sortant de la synagogue, il se rendit à la maison de Simon. La belle-mère de Simon avait une violente fièvre, et ils le prièrent en sa faveur.
38 Ar fhágáil na sionagóige dó, chuaigh sé isteach i dteach Shíomóin. Bhí máthair chéile Shíomóin gafa ag taom trom fiabhrais, agus rinne siad achainí air ar a son.
38 Y levantándose Jesús de la sinagoga, entró en casa de Simón: y la suegra de Simón estaba con una grande fiebre; y le rogaron por ella.
38 Und er stand auf aus der Schule und kam in Simons Haus. Und Simons Schwiegermutter war mit einem harten Fieber behaftet; und sie baten ihn für sie.
39 He went near her, and with a sharp word he gave orders to the disease and it went away from her; and straight away she got up and took care of their needs.
39 S'étant penché sur elle, il menaça la fièvre, et la fièvre la quitta. A l'instant elle se leva, et les servit.
39 Agus ina sheasamh dó os a cionn thug sé ordú géar don fhiabhras, agus d'fhág an fiabhras í; agus d'éirigh sí ar an mball agus thosaigh ag freastal orthu.
39 E inclinándose hacia ella, riñó á la fiebre; y la fiebre la dejó; y ella levantándose luego, les servía.
39 Und er trat zu ihr und gebot dem Fieber, und es verließ sie. Und alsbald stand sie auf und diente ihnen.
40 And at sundown all those who had anyone ill with any sort of disease, took them to him, and he put his hands on every one of them and made them well.
40 Après le couché du soleil, tous ceux qui avaient des malades atteints de diverses maladies les lui amenèrent. Il imposa les mains à chacun d'eux, et il les guérit.
40 Ar dhul faoi don ghrian, cách a raibh daoine acu a bhí tinn ó aon sort galair, thug siad chuige iad; chuir sé a lámha ar gach duine acu agus leigheas iad.
40 Y poniéndose el sol, todos los que tenían enfermos de diversas enfermedades, los traían á él; y él poniendo las manos sobre cada uno de ellos, los sanaba.
40 Und da die Sonne untergegangen war, brachten alle, die Kranke hatten mit mancherlei Seuchen, sie zu ihm. Und er legte auf einen jeglichen die Hände und machte sie gesund.
41 And evil spirits came out of a number of them, crying out and saying, You are the Son of God. But he gave them sharp orders not to say a word, because they had knowledge that he was the Christ.
41 Des démons aussi sortirent de beaucoup de personnes, en criant et en disant: Tu es le Fils de Dieu. Mais il les menaçait et ne leur permettait pas de parler, parce qu'ils savaient qu'il était le Christ.
41 Agus bhí mórán freisin, a n‑imíodh na deamhain amach astu, ag screadach agus ag rá: “Is tú Mac Dé.” Agus labhair sé leo go bagrach agus níor lig dóibh labhairt, óir bhí a fhios acu gurbh é an Críost é.
41 Y salían también demonios de muchos, dando voces, y diciendo: Tú eres el Hijo de Dios. Mas riñéndolos no les dejaba hablar; porque sabían que él era el Cristo.
41 Es fuhren auch die Teufel aus von vielen, schrieen und sprachen: Du bist Christus, der Sohn Gottes! Und er bedrohte sie und ließ sie nicht reden; denn sie wußten, daß er Christus war.
42 And when it was day, he came out and went to a waste place; and great numbers of people came looking for him, and they came to him and would have kept him from going away.
42 Dès que le jour parut, il sortit et alla dans un lieu désert. Une foule de gens se mirent à sa recherche, et arrivèrent jusqu'à lui; ils voulaient le retenir, afin qu'il ne les quittât point.
42 Nuair a bhí ina lá, ar dhul amach dó, chuaigh sé go dtí áit uaigneach. Ach bhí na sluaite á lorg agus tháinig siad mar a raibh sé, agus bhí á choinneáil le heagla go n‑imeodh sé uathu.
42 Y siendo ya de día salió, y se fué á un lugar desierto: y las gentes le buscaban, y vinieron hasta él; y le detenían para que no se apartase de ellos.
42 Da es aber Tag ward, ging er hinaus an eine wüste Stätte; und das Volk suchte ihn, und sie kamen zu ihm und hielten ihn auf, daß er nicht von ihnen ginge.
43 But he said to them, I have to give the good news of the kingdom of God in other towns, because that is why I was sent.
43 Mais il leur dit: Il faut aussi que j'annonce aux autres villes la bonne nouvelle du royaume de Dieu; car c'est pour cela que j'ai été envoyé.
43 Ach dúirt sé leo: “Ní foláir dom dea-scéal ríocht Dé a fhógairt do na cathracha eile, óir is chuige sin a cuireadh amach mé.”
43 Mas él les dijo: Que también á otras ciudades es necesario que anuncie el evangelio del reino de Dios; porque para esto soy enviado.
43 Er sprach aber zu ihnen: Ich muß auch andern Städten das Evangelium verkündigen vom Reiche Gottes; denn dazu bin ich gesandt.
44 And he was teaching in the Synagogues of Galilee.
44 Et il prêchait dans les synagogues de la Galilée.
