1 Take care not to do your good works before men, to be seen by them; or you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
1 Gardez-vous de pratiquer votre justice devant les hommes, pour en être vus; autrement, vous n'aurez point de récompense auprès de votre Père qui est dans les cieux.
1 Aire daoibh gan bheith ag déanamh taibhsimh as bhur ndea-oibreacha os comhair daoine chun go dtabharfaidís faoi deara iad, óir má bhíonn sibh, beidh sibh gan tuarastal i láthair bhur nAthar atá ar neamh.
1 MIRAD que no hagáis vuestra justicia delante de los hombres, para ser vistos de ellos: de otra manera no tendréis merced de vuestro Padre que está en los cielos.
1 Habt acht auf eure Almosen, daß ihr die nicht gebet vor den Leuten, daß ihr von ihnen gesehen werdet; ihr habt anders keinen Lohn bei eurem Vater im Himmel.
2 When then you give money to the poor, do not make a noise about it, as the false-hearted men do in the Synagogues and in the streets, so that they may have glory from men. Truly, I say to you, They have their reward.
2 Lors donc que tu fais l'aumône, ne sonne pas de la trompette devant toi, comme font les hypocrites dans les synagogues et dans les rues, afin d'être glorifiés par les hommes. Je vous le dis en vérité, ils reçoivent leur récompense.
2 “Nuair a bhíonn tú ag déanamh déirce, mar sin, ná cuir an trumpa á shéideadh romhat; sin mar a dhéanann na bréagchráifigh é sna sionagóga agus ar na sráideanna chun go mbeadh cách á moladh. Deirim libh go fírinneach, tá a dtuarastal faighte cheana féin acu.
2 Cuando pues haces limosna, no hagas tocar trompeta delante de ti, como hacen los hipócritas en las sinagogas y en las plazas, para ser estimados de los hombres: de cierto os digo, que ya tienen su recompensa.
2 Wenn du Almosen gibst, sollst du nicht lassen vor dir posaunen, wie die Heuchler tun in den Schulen und auf den Gassen, auf daß sie von den Leuten gepriesen werden. Wahrlich ich sage euch: Sie haben ihren Lohn dahin.
3 But when you give money, let not your left hand see what your right hand does:
3 Mais quand tu fais l'aumône, que ta main gauche ne sache pas ce que fait ta droite,
3 Ach tusa, ag déanamh déirce duit, ná bíodh a fhios ag do láimh chlé cad a dhéanann do lámh dheas,
3 Mas cuando tú haces limosna, no sepa tu izquierda lo que hace tu derecha;
3 Wenn du aber Almosen gibst, so laß deine linke Hand nicht wissen, was die rechte tut,
4 So that your giving may be in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will give you your reward.
4 afin que ton aumône se fasse en secret; et ton Père, qui voit dans le secret, te le rendra.
4 ach do dhéirc a bheith faoi choim. Feiceann d'Athair an beart faoi choim agus cúiteoidh sé leat. Intinn Ghlan sa Ghuí
4 Para que sea tu limosna en secreto: y tu Padre que ve en secreto, él te recompensará en público.
4 auf daß dein Almosen verborgen sei; und dein Vater, der in das Verborgene sieht, wird dir's vergelten öffentlich.
5 And when you make your prayers, be not like the false-hearted men, who take pleasure in getting up and saying their prayers in the Synagogues and at the street turnings so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward.
5 Lorsque vous priez, ne soyez pas comme les hypocrites, qui aiment à prier debout dans les synagogues et aux coins des rues, pour être vus des hommes. Je vous le dis en vérité, ils reçoivent leur récompense.
5 “Mar an gcéanna nuair a bhíonn sibh ag guí, ná bígí ar nós na mbréagchráifeach, mar is breá leo siúd seasamh suas sna sionagóga nó ag cúinní na sráideanna agus guí a dhéanamh mar a mbeidh radharc ag cách orthu. Deirim libh go fírinneach, tá a dtuarastal faighte cheana féin acu.
5 Y cuando oras, no seas como los hipócritas; porque ellos aman el orar en las sinagogas, y en los cantones de las calles en pie, para ser vistos de los hombres: de cierto os digo, que ya tienen su pago.
5 Und wenn du betest, sollst du nicht sein wie die Heuchler, die da gerne stehen und beten in den Schulen und an den Ecken auf den Gassen, auf daß sie von den Leuten gesehen werden. Wahrlich ich sage euch: Sie haben ihren Lohn dahin.
6 But when you make your prayer, go into your private room, and, shutting the door, say a prayer to your Father in secret, and your Father, who sees in secret, will give you your reward.
6 Mais quand tu pries, entre dans ta chambre, ferme ta porte, et prie ton Père qui est là dans le lieu secret; et ton Père, qui voit dans le secret, te le rendra.
6 Ach tusa, nuair a bhíonn tú chun guí, téigh isteach i do sheomra, dún an doras ort féin, agus guigh chun d'Athar atá ansiúd faoi choim. Feiceann d'Athair an beart faoi choim agus cúiteoidh sé leat.
6 Mas tú, cuando oras, éntrate en tu cámara, y cerrada tu puerta, ora á tu Padre que está en secreto; y tu Padre que ve en secreto, te recompensará en público.
6 Wenn aber du betest, so gehe in dein Kämmerlein und schließ die Tür zu und bete zu deinem Vater im Verborgenen; und dein Vater, der in das Verborgene sieht, wird dir's vergelten öffentlich.
7 And in your prayer do not make use of the same words again and again, as the Gentiles do: for they have the idea that God will give attention to them because of the number of their words.
7 En priant, ne multipliez pas de vaines paroles, comme les païens, qui s'imaginent qu'à force de paroles ils seront exaucés.
7 “Agus sa ghuí daoibh, ná déanaigí deilín de mar a dhéanann na págánaigh; samhlaíonn siad seo, dá mhéad a gcaint, gurb ea is dóichí go n‑éistfear leo.
7 Y orando, no seáis prolijos, como los Gentiles; que piensan que por su parlería serán oídos.
7 Und wenn ihr betet, sollt ihr nicht viel plappern wie die Heiden; denn sie meinen, sie werden erhört, wenn sie viel Worte machen.
8 So be not like them; because your Father has knowledge of your needs even before you make your requests to him.
8 Ne leur ressemblez pas; car votre Père sait de quoi vous avez besoin, avant que vous le lui demandiez.
8 Ná déanaigí aithris orthu; mar is eol do bhur nAthair na nithe a theastaíonn uaibh sula n‑iarrann sibh air iad.
8 No os hagáis, pues, semejantes á ellos; porque vuestro Padre sabe de qué cosas tenéis necesidad, antes que vosotros le pidáis.
8 Darum sollt ihr euch ihnen nicht gleichstellen. Euer Vater weiß, was ihr bedürfet, ehe ihr ihn bittet.
9 Let this then be your prayer: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.
9 Voici donc comment vous devez prier: Notre Père qui es aux cieux! Que ton nom soit sanctifié;
9 Seo mar a dhéanfaidh sibhse guí: Ár nAthair, atá ar neamh, go naofar d'ainm;
9 Vosotros pues, oraréis así: Padre nuestro que estás en los cielos, santificado sea tu nombre.
9 Darum sollt ihr also beten: Unser Vater in dem Himmel! Dein Name werde geheiligt.
10 Let your kingdom come. Let your pleasure be done, as in heaven, so on earth.
10 que ton règne vienne; que ta volonté soit faite sur la terre comme au ciel.

10 Venga tu reino. Sea hecha tu voluntad, como en el cielo, así también en la tierra.

11 Give us this day bread for our needs.
11 Donne-nous aujourd'hui notre pain quotidien;
11 Ár n‑arán laethúil tabhair dúinn inniu;
11 Danos hoy nuestro pan cotidiano.
11 Unser täglich Brot gib uns heute.
12 And make us free of our debts, as we have made those free who are in debt to us.
12 pardonne-nous nos offenses, comme nous aussi nous pardonnons à ceux qui nous ont offensés;
12 agus maith dúinn ár bhfiacha, mar a mhaithimidne dár bhféichiúna féin;
12 Y perdónanos nuestras deudas, como también nosotros perdonamos á nuestros deudores.
12 Und vergib uns unsere Schuld, wie wir unseren Schuldigern vergeben.
13 And let us not be put to the test, but keep us safe from the Evil One.
13 ne nous induis pas en tentation, mais délivre-nous du malin. Car c'est à toi qu'appartiennent, dans tous les siècles, le règne, la puissance et la gloire. Amen!
13 agus ná lig sinn i gcathú, ach saor sinn ó olc.
13 Y no nos metas en tentación, mas líbranos del mal: porque tuyo es el reino, y el poder, y la gloria, por todos los siglos. Amén.
13 Und führe uns nicht in Versuchung, sondern erlöse uns von dem Übel. Denn dein ist das Reich und die Kraft und die Herrlichkeit in Ewigkeit. Amen.
14 For if you let men have forgiveness for their sins, you will have forgiveness from your Father in heaven.
14 Si vous pardonnez aux hommes leurs offenses, votre Père céleste vous pardonnera aussi;
14 Óir, má mhaitheann sibh a gcionta do chách, maithfidh bhur nAthair neamhaí daoibhse freisin.
14 Porque si perdonareis á los hombres sus ofensas, os perdonará también á vosotros vuestro Padre celestial.
14 Denn so ihr den Menschen ihre Fehler vergebet, so wird euch euer himmlischer Vater auch vergeben,
15 But if you do not let men have forgiveness for their sins, you will not have forgiveness from your Father for your sins.
15 mais si vous ne pardonnez pas aux hommes, votre Père ne vous pardonnera pas non plus vos offenses.
15 Ach mura maitheann sibhse do chách, ní mó a mhaithfidh bhur nAthair bhur gcionta daoibhse. Intinn Ghlan sa Troscadh
15 Mas si no perdonareis á los hombres sus ofensas, tampoco vuestro Padre os perdonará vuestras ofensas.
15 Wo ihr aber den Menschen ihre Fehler nicht vergebet, so wird euch euer Vater eure Fehler auch nicht vergeben.
16 And when you go without food, be not sad-faced as the false-hearted are. For they go about with changed looks, so that men may see that they are going without food. Truly I say to you, They have their reward.
16 Lorsque vous jeûnez, ne prenez pas un air triste, comme les hypocrites, qui se rendent le visage tout défait, pour montrer aux hommes qu'ils jeûnent. Je vous le dis en vérité, ils reçoivent leur récompense.
16 “Nuair a dhéanann sibh troscadh, ná bígí gruama mar a bhíonn na bréagchráifigh: milleann siad sin a gceannaithe chun go mba léir do chách iad a bheith ina dtroscadh. Deirim libh go fírinneach, tá a dtuarastal faighte cheana féin acu.
16 Y cuando ayunáis, no seáis como los hipócritas, austeros; porque ellos demudan sus rostros para parecer á los hombres que ayunan: de cierto os digo, que ya tienen su pago.
16 Wenn ihr fastet, sollt ihr nicht sauer sehen wie die Heuchler; denn sie verstellen ihr Angesicht, auf daß sie vor den Leuten scheinen mit ihrem Fasten. Wahrlich ich sage euch: Sie haben ihren Lohn dahin.
17 But when you go without food, put oil on your head and make your face clean;
17 Mais quand tu jeûnes, parfume ta tête et lave ton visage,
17 Ach tusa, nuair a bhíonn tú ag déanamh troscaidh, cuir ola ar do cheann agus nigh d'aghaidh,
17 Mas tú, cuando ayunas, unge tu cabeza y lava tu rostro;
17 Wenn du aber fastest, so salbe dein Haupt und wasche dein Angesicht,
18 So that no one may see that you are going without food, but your Father in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will give you your reward.
18 afin de ne pas montrer aux hommes que tu jeûnes, mais à ton Père qui est là dans le lieu secret; et ton Père, qui voit dans le secret, te le rendra.
18 agus ná bíodh a fhios ag daoine go bhfuil tú i do throscadh, ach beidh a fhios ag d'Athair atá i láthair faoi choim. Feiceann d'Athair an beart faoi choim agus cúiteoidh sé leat. Ciste ar Neamh: Ciste ar Talamh
18 Para no parecer á los hombres que ayunas, sino á tu Padre que está en secreto: y tu Padre que ve en secreto, te recompensará en público.
18 auf daß du nicht scheinest vor den Leuten mit deinem Fasten, sondern vor deinem Vater, welcher verborgen ist; und dein Vater, der in das Verborgene sieht, wird dir's vergelten öffentlich.
19 Make no store of wealth for yourselves on earth, where it may be turned to dust by worms and weather, and where thieves may come in by force and take it away.
19 Ne vous amassez pas des trésors sur la terre, où la teigne et la rouille détruisent, et où les voleurs percent et dérobent;
19 “Ná cuirigí stór i dtaisce daoibh féin ar an talamh mar a mbíonn an leamhan agus an mheirg á mhilleadh agus na bithiúnaigh ag briseadh isteach á ghoid.
19 No os hagáis tesoros en la tierra, donde la polilla y el orín corrompe, y donde ladronas minan y hurtan;
19 Ihr sollt euch nicht Schätze sammeln auf Erden, da sie die Motten und der Rost fressen und da die Diebe nachgraben und stehlen.
20 But make a store for yourselves in heaven, where it will not be turned to dust and where thieves do not come in to take it away:
20 mais amassez-vous des trésors dans le ciel, où la teigne et la rouille ne détruisent point, et où les voleurs ne percent ni ne dérobent.
20 Cuirigí stór i dtaisce daoibh féin ar neamh mar nach mbíonn leamhan ná meirg ann chun a mhillte, ná bithiúnaigh ann chun briseadh isteach á ghoid.
20 Mas haceos tesoros en el cielo, donde ni polilla ni orín corrompe, y donde ladrones no minan ni hurtan:
20 Sammelt euch aber Schätze im Himmel, da sie weder Motten noch Rost fressen und da die Diebe nicht nachgraben noch stehlen.
21 For where your wealth is, there will your heart be.
21 Car là où est ton trésor, là aussi sera ton coeur.
21 Óir san áit a mbíonn do stór, is ann a bheidh do chroí freisin. An Chríonnacht: An Ghuí Mhuiníneach
21 Porque donde estuviere vuestro tesoro, allí estará vuestro corazón.
21 Denn wo euer Schatz ist, da ist auch euer Herz.
22 The light of the body is the eye; if then your eye is true, all your body will be full of light.
22 L'oeil est la lampe du corps. Si ton oeil est en bon état, tout ton corps sera éclairé;
22 “Is í an tsúil lampa an choirp. Má bhíonn do shúil slán, beidh do chorp ar fad solasmhar.
22 La lámpara del cuerpo es el ojo: así que, si tu ojo fuere sincero, todo tu cuerpo será luminoso:
22 Das Auge ist des Leibes Licht. Wenn dein Auge einfältig ist, so wird dein ganzer Leib licht sein;
23 But if your eye is evil, all your body will be dark. If then the light which is in you is dark, how dark it will be!
23 mais si ton oeil est en mauvais état, tout ton corps sera dans les ténèbres. Si donc la lumière qui est en toi est ténèbres, combien seront grandes ces ténèbres!
23 Ach má bhíonn do shúil tinn, beidh do chorp ar fad sa dorchadas. Mar sin, má bhíonn an solas atá ionat ina dhorchadas, nach mór é an dorchadas é sin!
23 Mas si tu ojo fuere malo, todo tu cuerpo será tenebroso. Así que, si la lumbre que en ti hay son tinieblas, ¿cuántas serán las mismas tinieblas?
23 ist aber dein Auge ein Schalk, so wird dein ganzer Leib finster sein. Wenn nun das Licht, das in dir ist, Finsternis ist, wie groß wird dann die Finsternis sein!
24 No man is able to be a servant to two masters: for he will have hate for the one and love for the other, or he will keep to one and have no respect for the other. You may not be servants of God and of wealth.
24 Nul ne peut servir deux maîtres. Car, ou il haïra l'un, et aimera l'autre; ou il s'attachera à l'un, et méprisera l'autre. Vous ne pouvez servir Dieu et Mamon.
24 “Ní féidir do dhuine ar bith dhá mháistir a riaradh; óir beidh fuath aige do dhuine acu agus grá aige don duine eile, nó beidh sé ag déanamh dúthrachta do dhuine acu agus ag déanamh neamhshuime den duine eile. Ní féidir daoibh Dia a riaradh agus an t‑airgead.
24 Ninguno puede servir á dos señores; porque ó aborrecerá al uno y amará al otro, ó se llegará al uno y menospreciará al otro: no podéis servir á Dios y á Mammón.
24 Niemand kann zwei Herren dienen: entweder er wird den einen hassen und den andern lieben, oder er wird dem einen anhangen und den andern verachten. Ihr könnt nicht Gott dienen und dem Mammon.
25 So I say to you, Take no thought for your life, about food or drink, or about clothing for your body. Is not life more than food, and the body more than its clothing?
25 C'est pourquoi je vous dis: Ne vous inquiétez pas pour votre vie de ce que vous mangerez, ni pour votre corps, de quoi vous serez vêtus. La vie n'est-elle pas plus que la nourriture, et le corps plus que le vêtement?
25 “Sin é an fáth a ndeirim libh: ná bígí imníoch faoi bhur mbeatha i dtaobh bia nó dí, na faoi bhur gcorp i dtaobh éadaigh. Nach mó le rá an bheatha ná an bia agus an corp ná an t‑éadach?
25 Por tanto os digo: No os congojéis por vuestra vida, qué habéis de comer, ó que habéis de beber; ni por vuestro cuerpo, qué habéis de vestir: ¿no es la vida más que el alimento, y el cuerpo que el vestido?
25 Darum sage ich euch: Sorget nicht für euer Leben, was ihr essen und trinken werdet, auch nicht für euren Leib, was ihr anziehen werdet. Ist nicht das Leben mehr denn Speise? und der Leib mehr denn die Kleidung?
26 See the birds of heaven; they do not put seeds in the earth, they do not get in grain, or put it in store-houses; and your Father in heaven gives them food. Are you not of much more value than they?
26 Regardez les oiseaux du ciel: ils ne sèment ni ne moissonnent, et ils n'amassent rien dans des greniers; et votre Père céleste les nourrit. Ne valez-vous pas beaucoup plus qu'eux?
26 “Féachaigí éanlaith an aeir: ní dhéanann siad síolchur ná fómhar ná cnuasach sna sciobóil, agus tugann bhur nAthair neamhaí bia dóibh. Nach mó is fiú sibhse ná iad sin?
26 Mirad las aves del cielo, que no siembran, ni siegan, ni allegan en alfolíes; y vuestro Padre celestial las alimenta. ¿No sois vosotros mucho mejores que ellas?.
26 Sehet die Vögel unter dem Himmel an: sie säen nicht, sie ernten nicht, sie sammeln nicht in die Scheunen; und euer himmlischer Vater nährt sie doch. Seid ihr denn nicht viel mehr denn sie?
27 And which of you by taking thought is able to make himself a cubit taller?
27 Qui de vous, par ses inquiétudes, peut ajouter une coudée à la durée de sa vie?
27 Cé agaibh a d'fhéadfadh, le bheith ag déanamh imní, aon bhanlámh amháin a chur le fad a shaoil?
27 Mas ¿quién de vosotros podrá, congojándose, añadir á su estatura un codo?
27 Wer ist aber unter euch, der seiner Länge eine Elle zusetzen möge, ob er gleich darum sorget?
28 And why are you troubled about clothing? See the flowers of the field, how they come up; they do no work, they make no thread:
28 Et pourquoi vous inquiéter au sujet du vêtement? Considérez comment croissent les lis des champs: ils ne travaillent ni ne filent;
28 Agus cé an fáth a bhfuil sibh imníoch i dtaobh an éadaigh? Tugaigí faoi deara lilí an bháin, mar a fhásann siad; ní dhéanann siad saothar ná sníomh.
28 Y por el vestido ¿por qué os congojáis? Reparad los lirios del campo, cómo crecen; no trabajan ni hilan;
28 Und warum sorget ihr für die Kleidung? Schaut die Lilien auf dem Felde, wie sie wachsen: sie arbeiten nicht, auch spinnen sie nicht.
29 But I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these.
29 cependant je vous dis que Salomon même, dans toute sa gloire, n'a pas été vêtu comme l'un d'eux.
29 Ach deirim libh nach raibh ar Sholamh féin, dá mhéad a ghlóir, cóir éadaigh mar atá ar cheann díobh seo.
29 Mas os digo, que ni aun Salomón con toda su gloria fué vestido así como uno de ellos.
29 Ich sage euch, daß auch Salomo in aller seiner Herrlichkeit nicht bekleidet gewesen ist wie derselben eins.
30 But if God gives such clothing to the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is put into the oven, will he not much more give you clothing, O you of little faith?
30 Si Dieu revêt ainsi l'herbe des champs, qui existe aujourd'hui et qui demain sera jetée au four, ne vous vêtira-t-il pas à plus forte raison, gens de peu de foi?
30 Lus an bháin a bhíonn ann inniu agus atá le caitheamh sa sorn amárach, má éadaíonn Dia mar sin é, nach móide go mór dó sibhse a éadú, a lucht an bheagán creidimh?
30 Y si la hierba del campo que hoy es, y mañana es echada en el horno, Dios la viste así, ¿no hará mucho más á vosotros, hombres de poca fe?
30 So denn Gott das Gras auf dem Felde also kleidet, das doch heute steht und morgen in den Ofen geworfen wird: sollte er das nicht viel mehr euch tun, o ihr Kleingläubigen?
31 Then do not be full of care, saying, What are we to have for food or drink? or, With what may we be clothed?
31 Ne vous inquiétez donc point, et ne dites pas: Que mangerons-nous? que boirons-nous? de quoi serons-nous vêtus?
31 Dá bhrí sin, ná bígí go himníoch ag fiafraí: ‘Cá bhfaighimid bia, nó deoch, nó éadach?’
31 No os congojéis pues, diciendo: ¿Qué comeremos, ó qué beberemos, ó con qué nos cubriremos?
31 Darum sollt ihr nicht sorgen und sagen: Was werden wir essen, was werden wir trinken, womit werden wir uns kleiden?
32 Because the Gentiles go in search of all these things: for your Father in heaven has knowledge that you have need of all these things:
32 Car toutes ces choses, ce sont les païens qui les recherchent. Votre Père céleste sait que vous en avez besoin.
32 Nithe iad siúd uile a mbíonn na págánaigh ar a dtóir; rud eile, tá a fhios ag bhur nAthair neamhaí go bhfuil gá agaibh leis na nithe sin uile.
32 Porque los Gentiles buscan todas estas cosas: que vuestro Padre celestial sabe que de todas estas cosas habéis menester.
32 Nach solchem allem trachten die Heiden. Denn euer himmlischer Vater weiß, daß ihr des alles bedürfet.
33 But let your first care be for his kingdom and his righteousness; and all these other things will be given to you in addition.
33 Cherchez premièrement le royaume et la justice de Dieu; et toutes ces choses vous seront données par-dessus.
33 Ach déanaigí ríocht Dé agus a fhíréantacht a lorg ar dtús, agus tabharfar na nithe sin uile daoibh chomh maith.
33 Mas buscad primeramente el reino de Dios y su justicia, y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas.
33 Trachtet am ersten nach dem Reich Gottes und nach seiner Gerechtigkeit, so wird euch solches alles zufallen.
34 Then have no care for tomorrow: tomorrow will take care of itself. Take the trouble of the day as it comes.
34 Ne vous inquiétez donc pas du lendemain; car le lendemain aura soin de lui-même. A chaque jour suffit sa peine.
