Micah 6

1 Sorrow is mine! for I am as when they have got in the summer fruits, like the last of the grapes: there is nothing for food, not even an early fig for my desire.

Táimse mar a bheinn dá mbeadh na torthaí bailithe agus fómhar na bhfíniúna thart; níl caor ar bith le hithe agus na fígí luatha a bhfuil dúil agam iontu níl ceann díobh ar fáil níos mó.

2 The good man is gone from the earth, there is no one upright among men: they are all waiting secretly for blood, every man is going after his brother with a net.

2 Tá an dea-dhuine imithe ar ceal ón tír; níl aon fhear ionraic i measc an phobail; bíonn siad go léir in oirchill na fola agus téann gach duine díobh ar thóir a bhráthar.

3 Their hands are made ready to do evil; the ruler makes requests for money, and the judge is looking for a reward; and the great man gives decisions at his pleasure, and the right is twisted.

3 Tá a lámha oilte ar an olc a dhéanamh; bíonn síntiús éigin á lorg ag an ardfheidhmeannach agus is féidir an breitheamh a cheannach le breab agus labhraíonn an fear tiarnais de réir a mhéine féin. Mo chreach! Camann siad an dlí.

4 The best of them is like a waste plant, and their upright ones are like a wall of thorns. Sorrow! the day of their fate has come; now will trouble come on them.

4 Is cosúil le dris fhiáin an chuid is fearr acu; is cuma nó fál sceach na daoine is ionraice orthu. Ach tá lá [a] bhfiosraithe ag teacht agus is ansin is ea a bheidh mearbhall orthu.

5 Put no faith in a friend, do not let your hope be placed in a relation: keep watch on the doors of your mouth against her who is resting on your breast.

5 Ná cuirigí muinín as bhur gcomharsana; ná téigí ar iontaoibh bhur gcairde. Cosain doirse do bhéil ar do bhean chéile.

6 For the son puts shame on his father, the daughter goes against her mother and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man's haters are those of his family.

6 Óir tugann an mac easonóir dá athair agus éiríonn an iníon suas in aghaidh a máthar agus an banchliamhain in aghaidh máthar a céile agus is lucht a theaghlaigh féin is naimhde do dhuine.

7 But as for me, I am looking to the Lord; I am waiting for the God of my salvation: the ears of my God will be open to me.

7 Ach i dtaca liom féin de is ar an Tiarna a bhím ag brath; cuirim mo dhóchas i nDia mo Shlánaitheoir agus éistfidh mo Dhia liom.

8 Do not be glad because of my sorrow, O my hater: after my fall I will be lifted up; when I am seated in the dark, the Lord will be a light to me.

8 Ná bíodh lúcháir ort, a namhaid liom, mar gheall ormsa; fiú má mhairim sa dorchadas is é an Tiarna féin mo sholas.

8 Tú, enemiga mía, no te huelgues de mí: porque aunque caí, he de levantarme; aunque more en tinieblas, Jehová será mi luz.

9 I will undergo the wrath of the Lord, because of my sin against him; till he takes up my cause and does what is right for me: when he makes me come out into the light, I will see his righteousness;

9 Caithfidh mé cur suas le fearg an Tiarna - mar pheacaigh mé ina choinne - go dtí go n‑agraíonn sé mo chúis agus go seasann sé ceart dom. Treoróidh sé mé chun an tsolais agus feicfidh mé na gníomhartha slánaitheacha a dhéanann sé.

10 And my hater will see it and be covered with shame; she who said to me, Where is the Lord your God? my eyes will see their desire effected on her, now she will be crushed under foot like the dust of the streets.

10 Feicfidh mo namhaid é seo agus déanfar ceap magaidh den té a dúirt liomsa: “Cá bhfuil do Dhia?”

11 A day for building your walls! in that day will your limits be stretched far and wide.

11 Le jour où l'on rebâtira tes murs, Ce jour-là tes limites seront reculées.

11 Tá an lá a n‑atógfar do bhallaí ag teacht; an lá sin leathnófar do chríocha.

12 In that day they will come to you from Assyria and the towns of Egypt, and from Egypt even to the River, and from sea to sea and from mountain to mountain.

12 An lá sin tiocfar chugat ón Asaír go dtí an Éigipt, ón Tuír go dtí an Abhainn, ó mhuir go muir agus ó shliabh go sliabh.

13 But the land will become a waste because of its people, as the fruit of their works.

13 Agus beidh an tír agus a háitritheoirí ina n‑ábhar uafáis de dheasca a ndrochghníomhartha. Guí an Phobail

14 Keep your people safe with your rod, the flock of your heritage, living by themselves in the woods in the middle of Carmel: let them get their food in Bashan and Gilead as in the past.

14 Seol do phobal chun féaraigh le do bhata, an tréad atá ina oidhreacht agat, a lonnaíonn ina aonar sa choill i lár na mbánta. Cuir ar féarach iad i mBáiseán agus i nGileád mar a mbídís san am fadó.

15 As in the days when you came out from the land of Egypt, let us see things of wonder.

15 [Taispeáin dúinn] éachtaí mar a rinne tú agus tú ag imeacht as an Éigipt.

16 The nations will see and be shamed because of all their strength; they will put their hands on their mouths, their ears will be stopped.

16 Feicfidh na náisiúin iad agus beidh ceann faoi orthu dá mhéad a gcumhacht. Cuirfidh siad a lámha lena mbéal agus beidh bodhaire ina gcluasa.

17 They will take dust as their food like a snake, like the things which go flat on the earth; they will come shaking with fear out of their secret places: they will come with fear to the Lord our God, full of fear because of you.

17 Lífidh siad an deannach ar nós nathracha nimhe, ar nós péisteanna na talún. Tiocfaidh siad amach as a ndúnta agus iad ar aon bharr creatha le heagla romhat, ár dTiarna Dia.

18 Who is a God like you, offering forgiveness for evil-doing and overlooking the sins of the rest of his heritage? he does not keep his wrath for ever, because his delight is in mercy.

Óir tógann tú peacaí chun siúil agus maitheann tú a gcionta d'fhuílleach d'oidhreachta; ní buan í do chuid feirge agus is áil leat an buanghrá.

19 He will again have pity on us; he will put our sins under his feet: and you will send all our sins down into the heart of the sea.

19 Déanfaidh tú trócaire orainn arís; gabhfaidh tú de chosa inár bpeacaí agus caithfidh tú ár gcionta go léir isteach i nduibheagán na farraige.

20 You will make clear your good faith to Jacob and your mercy to Abraham, as you gave your oath to our fathers from times long past.

20 Léirigh do dhílseacht do Iacób agus do bhuanghrá d'Abrahám faoi mar a mhionnaigh tú dár sinsir riamh anall.

Nahum 1
