1 And the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time, saying,

1 Und es geschah das Wort des HERRN zum andernmal zu Jona und sprach:
2 Up! go to Nineveh, that great town, and give it the word which I have given you.
2 Lève-toi, va à Ninive, la grande ville, et proclames-y la publication que je t'ordonne!
2 “Éirigh! Gread leat go dtí cathair mhór Nínivé agus fógair ina haghaidh an t‑oracal a thabharfaidh mé duit.”
2 Levántate, y ve á Nínive, aquella gran ciudad, y publica en ella el pregón que yo te diré.
2 Mache dich auf, gehe in die große Stadt Ninive und predige ihr die Predigt, die ich dir sage!
3 So Jonah got up and went to Nineveh as the Lord had said. Now Nineveh was a very great town, three days' journey from end to end.
3 Et Jonas se leva, et alla à Ninive, selon la parole de l'Éternel. Or Ninive était une très grande ville, de trois jours de marche.

3 Y levantóse Jonás, y fué á Nínive, conforme á la palabra de Jehová. Y era Nínive ciudad sobremanera grande, de tres días de camino.
3 Da machte sich Jona auf und ging hin gen Ninive, wie der HERR gesagt hatte. Ninive aber war eine große Stadt vor Gott, drei Tagereisen groß.
4 And Jonah first of all went a day's journey into the town, and crying out said, In forty days destruction will overtake Nineveh.
4 Jonas fit d'abord dans la ville une journée de marche; il criait et disait: Encore quarante jours, et Ninive est détruite!
4 Isteach le Ióna sa chathair agus is ar éigean a bhí turas aon lae amháin siúlta aige agus an t‑oracal seo á fhógairt aige: “I gceann daichead lá eile scriosfar Nínivé,”
4 Y comenzó Jonás á entrar por la ciudad, camino de un día, y pregonaba diciendo: De aquí á cuarenta días Nínive será destruida.
4 Und da Jona anfing hineinzugehen eine Tagereise in die Stadt, predigte er und sprach: Es sind noch vierzig Tage, so wird Ninive untergehen.
5 And the people of Nineveh had belief in God; and a time was fixed for going without food, and they put on haircloth, from the greatest to the least.
5 Les gens de Ninive crurent à Dieu, ils publièrent un jeûne, et se revêtirent de sacs, depuis les plus grands jusqu'aux plus petits.
5 nuair a chreid muintir Nínivé i nDia. D'fhógair siad troscadh agus chuir siad go léir, idir uasal agus íseal sacéadach orthu féin.
5 Y los hombres de Nínive creyeron á Dios, y pregonaron ayuno, y vistiéronse de sacos desde el mayor de ellos hasta el menor de ellos.
5 Da glaubten die Leute zu Ninive an Gott und ließen predigen, man sollte fasten, und zogen Säcke an, beide, groß und klein.
6 And the word came to the king of Nineveh, and he got up from his seat of authority, and took off his robe, and covering himself with haircloth, took his seat in the dust.
6 La chose parvint au roi de Ninive; il se leva de son trône, ôta son manteau, se couvrit d'un sac, et s'assit sur la cendre.
6 Nuair a chuala rí Nínivé an scéal, d'éirigh sé ina sheasamh óna ríchathaoir, bhain a fhallaing ríoga de, chuir sacéadach air féin agus shuigh síos sa luaithreach.
6 Y llegó el negocio hasta el rey de Nínive, y levantóse de su silla, y echó de sí su vestido, y cubrióse de saco, y se sentó sobre ceniza.
6 Und da das vor den König zu Ninive kam, stand er auf von seinem Thron und legte seinen Purpur ab und hüllte einen Sack um sich und setzte sich in die Asche
7 And he had it given out in Nineveh, By the order of the king and his great men, no man or beast, herd or flock, is to have a taste of anything; let them have no food or water:
7 Et il fit faire dans Ninive cette publication, par ordre du roi et de ses grands; Que les hommes et les bête, les boeufs et les brebis, ne goûtent de rien, ne paissent point, et ne boivent point d'eau!
7 Ansin chuir sé an forógra práinneach seo á chraoladh ar fud Nínivé: “Forógra an rí agus a mhóruaisle: Ná blaiseadh duine ná ainmhí, táin ná tréad aon ní; ná hithidís bia, ná hólaidís uisce.
7 E hizo pregonar y anunciar en Nínive, por mandado del rey y de sus grandes, diciendo: Hombres y animales, bueyes y ovejas, no gusten cosa alguna, no se les dé alimento, ni beban agua:
7 und ließ ausrufen und sagen zu Ninive nach Befehl des Königs und seiner Gewaltigen also: Es sollen weder Mensch noch Vieh, weder Ochsen noch Schafe Nahrung nehmen, und man soll sie nicht weiden noch sie Wasser trinken lassen;
8 And let man and beast be covered with haircloth, and let them make strong prayers to God: and let everyone be turned from his evil way and the violent acts of their hands.
8 Que les hommes et les bêtes soient couverts de sacs, qu'ils crient à Dieu avec force, et qu'ils reviennent tous de leur mauvaise voie et des actes de violence dont leurs mains sont coupables!
8 Cuireadh idir dhaoine agus ainmhithe sacéadach orthu féin agus glaoidís os ard ar Dhia. Tréigeadh cách a ndrochiompar agus cuiridís díobh an lámh láidir.
8 Y que se cubran de saco los hombres y los animales, y clamen á Dios fuertemente: y conviértase cada uno de su mal camino, de la rapiña que está en sus manos.
8 und sollen Säcke um sich hüllen, beide, Menschen und Vieh, und zu Gott rufen heftig; und ein jeglicher bekehre sich von seinem bösen Wege und vom Frevel seiner Hände.
9 Who may say that God will not be turned, changing his purpose and turning away from his burning wrath, so that destruction may not overtake us?
9 Qui sait si Dieu ne reviendra pas et ne se repentira pas, et s'il ne renoncera pas à son ardente colère, en sorte que nous ne périssions point?
9 Cá bhfios ná go ndéanfadh Dia athchomhairle agus go dtiocfadh aithreachas air agus go n‑imeodh an fhearg de agus nach gcaillfí sinne?”
9 ¿Quién sabe si se volverá y arrepentirá Dios, y se apartará del furor de su ira, y no pereceremos?
9 Wer weiß? Es möchte Gott wiederum gereuen und er sich wenden von seinem grimmigen Zorn, daß wir nicht verderben.
10 And God saw what they did, how they were turned from their evil way; and God's purpose was changed as to the evil which he said he would do to them, and he did it not.
10 Dieu vit qu'ils agissaient ainsi et qu'ils revenaient de leur mauvaise voie. Alors Dieu se repentit du mal qu'il avait résolu de leur faire, et il ne le fit pas.
