1 And the word of the Lord came to Jonah, the son of Amittai, saying,
1 La parole de l'Éternel fut adressée à Jonas, fils d'Amitthaï, en ces mots:
1 Labhraíodh briathar an Tiarna le Ióna, mac Aimití:
1 Y FUÉ palabra de Jehová á Jonás, hijo de Amittai, diciendo:
1 Es geschah das Wort des HERRN zu Jona, dem Sohn Amitthais, und sprach:
2 Up! go to Nineveh, that great town, and let your voice come to it; for their evil-doing has come up before me.
2 Lève-toi, va à Ninive, la grande ville, et crie contre elle! car sa méchanceté est montée jusqu'à moi.
2 “Éirigh! Gread leat go dtí cathair mhór Nínivé agus fógair oracal ina haghaidh, mar tá mallaitheacht a háitritheoirí tar éis éirí aníos os mo chomhair.”
2 Levántate, y ve á Nínive, ciudad grande, y pregona contra ella; porque su maldad ha subido delante de mí.
2 Mache dich auf und gehe in die große Stadt Ninive und predige wider sie! denn ihre Bosheit ist heraufgekommen vor mich.
3 And Jonah got up to go in flight to Tarshish, away from the Lord; and he went down to Joppa, and saw there a ship going to Tarshish: so he gave them the price of the journey and went down into it to go with them to Tarshish, away from the Lord.
3 Et Jonas se leva pour s'enfuir à Tarsis, loin de la face de l'Éternel. Il descendit à Japho, et il trouva un navire qui allait à Tarsis; il paya le prix du transport, et s'embarqua pour aller avec les passagers à Tarsis, loin de la face de l'Éternel.
3 D'éirigh Ióna ach bhí sé meáite ar theitheadh go Tairsís ó láthair an Tiarna. Chuaigh sé síos go Iopa, mar sin, agus fuair sé long ann a bhí ar tí dul go Tairsís; d'íoc sé an táille agus chuaigh sé ar bord chun taisteal go Tairsís i gcuideachta na foirne ó láthair an Tiarna.
3 Y Jonás se levantó para huir de la presencia de Jehová á Tarsis, y descendió á Joppe; y halló un navío que partía para Tarsis; y pagando su pasaje entró en él, para irse con ellos á Tarsis de delante de Jehová.
3 Aber Jona machte sich auf und floh vor dem HERRN und wollte gen Tharsis und kam hinab gen Japho. Und da er ein Schiff fand, das gen Tharsis wollte fahren, gab er Fährgeld und trat hinein, daß er mit ihnen gen Tharsis führe vor dem HERRN.
4 And the Lord sent out a great wind on to the sea and there was a violent storm in the sea, so that the ship seemed in danger of being broken.
4 Mais l'Éternel fit souffler sur la mer un vent impétueux, et il s'éleva sur la mer une grande tempête. Le navire menaçait de faire naufrage.
4 Ach scaoil an Tiarna gaoth láidir amach thar an bhfarraige agus d'éirigh stoirm chomh mór sin gur dhóbair don long titim as a chéile.
4 Mas Jehová hizo levantar un gran viento en la mar, é hízose una tan gran tempestad en la mar, que pensóse se rompería la nave.
4 Da ließ der HERR einen großen Wind aufs Meer kommen, und es erhob sich ein großes Ungewitter auf dem Meer, daß man meinte, das Schiff würde zerbrechen.
5 Then the sailors were full of fear, every man crying to his god; and the goods in the ship were dropped out into the sea to make the weight less. But Jonah had gone down into the inmost part of the ship where he was stretched out in a deep sleep.
5 Les mariniers eurent peur, ils implorèrent chacun leur dieu, et ils jetèrent dans la mer les objets qui étaient sur le navire, afin de le rendre plus léger. Jonas descendit au fond du navire, se coucha, et s'endormit profondément.
5 Tháinig scanradh a n‑anama ar an bhfoireann agus d'impigh gach duine díobh os ard ar a dhia féin cabhrú leo; agus, chun an long a éadromú dóibh féin, theilg siad amach san fharraige a raibh ar bord. Idir an dá linn, áfach, bhí Ióna tar éis dul síos i mbroinn na loinge agus bhí sé ina luí ansin agus é ina shámhchodladh.
5 Y los marineros tuvieron miedo, y cada uno llamaba á su dios: y echaron á la mar los enseres que había en la nave, para descargarla de ellos. Jonás empero se había bajado á los lados del buque, y se había echado á dormir.
5 Und die Schiffsleute fürchteten sich und schrieen, ein jeglicher zu seinem Gott, und warfen das Gerät, das im Schiff war, ins Meer, daß es leichter würde. Aber Jona war hinunter in das Schiff gestiegen, lag und schlief.
6 And the ship's captain came to him and said to him, What are you doing sleeping? Up! say a prayer to your God, if by chance God will give a thought to us, so that we may not come to destruction.
6 Le pilote s'approcha de lui, et lui dit: Pourquoi dors-tu? Lève-toi, invoque ton Dieu! peut-être voudra-t-il penser à nous, et nous ne périrons pas.
6 Tháinig an captaen chuige agus lig sé béic air: “Hóigh! An i do chodladh atá tú! Éirigh aniar agus glaoigh ar do dhia! B'fhéidir go gcuimhneoidh an dia seo agatsa orainne agus nach gcaillfear sinn.”
6 Y el maestre de la nave se llegó á él, y le dijo: ¿Qué tienes, dormilón? Levántate, y clamá á tu Dios; quizá él tendrá compasión de nosotros, y no pereceremos.
6 Da trat zu ihm der Schiffsherr und sprach zu ihm: Was schläfst du? Stehe auf, rufe deinen Gott an! ob vielleicht Gott an uns gedenken wollte, daß wir nicht verdürben.
7 And they said to one another, Come, let us put this to the decision of chance and see on whose account this evil has come on us. So they did so, and Jonah was seen to be the man.
7 Et il se rendirent l'un à l'autre: Venez, et tirons au sort, pour savoir qui nous attire ce malheur. Ils tirèrent au sort, et le sort tomba sur Jonas.
7 Dúirt foireann na loinge le chéile ansin: “Téanaigí; caithimis crainn chun a fháil amach cé air a chuirfimid milleán na tubaiste seo atá tar éis teacht orainn.” Mar sin de, chaith siad crainn agus thit an crann ar Ióna.
7 Y dijeron cada uno á su compañero: Venid, y echemos suertes, para saber por quién nos ha venido este mal. Y echaron suertes, y la suerte cayó sobre Jonás.
7 Und einer sprach zum andern: Kommt, wir wollen losen, daß wir erfahren, um welches willen es uns so übel gehe. Und da sie losten traf's Jona.
8 Then they said to him, Now make clear to us what is your work, and where you come from? what is your country, and who are your people?
8 Alors ils lui dirent: Dis-nous qui nous attire ce malheur. Quelles sont tes affaires, et d'où viens-tu? Quel est ton pays, et de quel peuple es-tu?
8 Dúirt siad leis ansin: “Inis dúinn cé is ciontach leis an mí-ádh seo a theacht orainn. Cad é an fuadar atá fútsa? Cad as duit? Céard í do thír dhúchais? Cér díobh thú?”
8 Entonces le dijeron ellos: Decláranos ahora por qué nos ha venido este mal. ¿Qué oficio tienes, y de dónde vienes? ¿cuál es tu tierra, y de qué pueblo eres?
8 Da sprachen sie zu ihm: Sage uns, warum geht es uns so übel? was ist dein Gewerbe, und wo kommst du her? Aus welchem Lande bist du, und von welchem Volk bist du?
9 And he said to them, I am a Hebrew, a worshipper of the Lord, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land.
9 Il leur répondit: Je suis Hébreu, et je crains l'Éternel, le Dieu des cieux, qui a fait la mer et la terre.
9 “Eabhrach is ea mé,” an freagra a thug sé orthu, “agus is é an Tiarna, rí na bhflaitheas, an té a rinne an fharraige agus an talamh tirim, a adhraim.”
9 Y él les respondió: Hebreo soy, y temo á Jehová, Dios de los cielos, que hizo la mar y la tierra.
9 Er sprach zu ihnen: Ich bin ein Hebräer und fürchte den HERRN, den Gott des Himmels, welcher gemacht hat das Meer und das Trockene.
10 And the men were in great fear, and they said to him, What is this you have done? For the men had knowledge of his flight from the Lord because he had not kept it from them.
10 Ces hommes eurent une grande frayeur, et ils lui dirent: Pourquoi as-tu fait cela? Car ces hommes savaient qu'il fuyait loin de la face de l'Éternel, parce qu'il le leur avait déclaré.
10 Bhuail eagla a gcraicinn an fhoireann ansin agus dúirt siad leis: “Céard é seo atá déanta agat?” Bhí a fhios acu, dar ndóigh, ón scéal a d'inis sé dóibh, go raibh sé ar a theitheadh ó láthair an Tiarna.
10 Y aquellos hombres temieron sobremanera, y dijéronle: ¿Por qué has hecho esto? Porque ellos entendieron que huía de delante de Jehová, porque se lo había declarado.
10 Da fürchteten sich die Leute sehr und sprachen zu ihm: Warum hast du denn solches getan? denn sie wußten, daß er vor dem HERRN floh; denn er hatte es ihnen gesagt.
11 And they said to him, What are we to do to you so that the sea may become calm for us? For the sea was getting rougher and rougher.
11 Ils lui dirent: Que te ferons-nous, pour que la mer se calme envers nous? Car la mer était de plus en plus orageuse.
11 “Cad a dhéanfaimid leat,” d'fhiafraigh siad de ansin, “chun go suaimhneodh an fharraige dúinn?” Is amhlaidh a bhí an fharraige ag éirí níos stoirmiúla i gcónaí.
11 Y dijéronle: ¿Qué te haremos, para que la mar se nos quiete? porque la mar iba á más, y se embravecía.
11 Da sprachen sie zu ihm: Was sollen wir denn mit dir tun, daß uns das Meer still werde? Denn das Meer fuhr ungestüm.
12 And he said to them, Take me up and put me into the sea, and the sea will become calm for you: for I am certain that because of me this great storm has come on you.
12 Il leur répondit: Prenez-moi, et jetez-moi dans la mer, et la mer se calmera envers vous; car je sais que c'est moi qui attire sur vous cette grande tempête.
12 “Tógaigí suas mé,” ar seisean leo, “agus caithigí isteach san fharraige mé agus suaimhneoidh sí daoibh ansin. Óir is maith atá a fhios agam gur mise faoi deara an stoirm mhór seo a theacht oraibh.”
12 El les respondió: Tomadme, y echadme á la mar, y la mar se os quietará: porque yo sé que por mí ha venido esta grande tempestad sobre vosotros.
12 Er sprach zu ihnen: Nehmt mich und werft mich ins Meer, so wird euch das Meer still werden. Denn ich weiß, daß solch groß Ungewitter über euch kommt um meinetwillen.
13 And the men were working hard to get back to the land, but they were not able to do so: for the sea got rougher and rougher against them.
13 Ces hommes ramaient pour gagner la terre, mais ils ne le purent, parce que la mer s'agitait toujours plus contre eux.
13 Mar sin féin lean na mairnéalaigh leo ag rámhaíocht go tréan le súil go bhféadfaidís an long a thabhairt ar ais go dtí an mhórthír ach ba shaothar in aisce acu é, mar bhí an fharraige ag éirí níos stoirmiúla fós ina n‑aghaidh.
13 Y aquellos hombres trabajaron por tornar la nave á tierra; mas no pudieron, porque la mar iba á más, y se embravecía sobre ellos.
13 Und die Leute trieben, daß sie wieder zu Lande kämen; aber sie konnten nicht, denn das Meer fuhr ungestüm wider sie.
14 So, crying to the Lord, they said, Give ear to our prayer, O Lord, give ear, and do not let destruction overtake us because of this man's life; do not put on us the sin of taking life without cause: for you, O Lord, have done what seemed good to you.
14 Alors ils invoquèrent l'Éternel, et dirent: O Éternel, ne nous fais pas périr à cause de la vie de cet homme, et ne nous charge pas du sang innocent! Car toi, Éternel, tu fais ce que tu veux.
14 Mar sin de, d'agair siad an Tiarna agus ghlaoigh siad amach os ard: “Ná cailltear sinne, a Thiarna, toisc sinn a bheith páirteach i gcinniúint an fhir seo; ná cuir inár leith gur dhúnmharaíomar duine neamhchiontach; óir, is de réir mar a thogair tú féin amháin, a Thiarna, atá na cúrsaí seo mar atá siad.”
14 Entonces clamaron á Jehová, y dijeron: Rogámoste ahora, Jehová, que no perezcamos nosotros por la vida de aqueste hombre, ni pongas sobre nosotros la sangre inocente: porque tú, Jehová, has hecho como has querido.
14 Da riefen sie zu dem HERRN und sprachen: Ach HERR, laß uns nicht verderben um dieses Mannes Seele willen und rechne uns nicht zu unschuldig Blut! denn du, HERR, tust, wie dir's gefällt.
15 So they took Jonah up and put him into the sea: and the sea was no longer angry.
15 Puis ils prirent Jonas, et le jetèrent dans la mer. Et la fureur de la mer s'apaisa.
15 Ansin thóg siad Ióna suas agus chaith siad isteach san fharraige é. Ar an toirt suaimhníodh fraoch na farraige.
15 Y tomaron á Jonás, y echáronlo á la mar; y la mar se quietó de su furia.
15 Und sie nahmen Jona und warfen ihn ins Meer; das stand das Meer still von seinem Wüten.
16 Then great was the men's fear of the Lord; and they made an offering to the Lord and took oaths to him.
16 Ces hommes furent saisis d'une grande crainte de l'Éternel, et ils offrirent un sacrifice à l'Éternel, et firent des voeux.
16 Dá thoradh sin tháinig eagla nár bheag ar an bhfoireann roimh an Tiarna; d'ofráil siad íobairt dó agus thug móideanna.
16 Y temieron aquellos hombres á Jehová con gran temor; y ofrecieron sacrificio á Jehová, y prometieron votos.
16 Und die Leute fürchteten den HERR sehr und taten dem HERRN Opfer und Gelübde.
17 And the Lord made ready a great fish to take Jonah into its mouth; and Jonah was inside the fish for three days and three nights.
17 (2:1) L'Éternel fit venir un grand poisson pour engloutir Jonas, et Jonas fut dans le ventre du poisson trois jours et trois nuits.
