1 This is what the Lord God let me see: and I saw that, when the growth of the late grass was starting, he made locusts; it was the late growth after the king's cutting was done.

2 And it came about that after they had taken all the grass of the land, I said, O Lord God, have mercy: how will Jacob be able to keep his place? for he is small.
2 Et comme elles dévoraient entièrement l'herbe de la terre, Je dis: Seigneur Éternel, pardonne donc! Comment Jacob subsistera-t-il? Car il est si faible!
2 Nuair a bhí féar na tíre go léir nach mór alptha acu, dúirt mise: “A Thiarna Dia, tabhair maithiúnas, impím ort. Cad é mar a mhairfidh Iacób agus é chomh beag sin?”
2 Y acaeció que como acabó de comer la hierba de la tierra, yo dije: Señor Jehová, perdona ahora; ¿quién levantará á Jacob? porque es pequeño.
2 Als sie nun das Kraut im Lande gar abgefressen hatten, sprach ich: Ach HERR HERR, sei gnädig! Wer will Jakob wieder aufhelfen? denn er ist ja gering.
3 The Lord, changing his purpose about this, said, It will not be.
3 L'Éternel se repentit de cela. Cela n'arrivera pas, dit l'Éternel.
3 Agus tháinig aithreachas ar an Tiarna; “Ní thitfidh sé seo amach,” a dúirt an Tiarna.
3 Arrepintióse Jehová de esto: No será, dijo Jehová.

4 This is what the Lord let me see: and I saw that the Lord God sent for a great fire to be the instrument of his punishment; and, after burning up the great deep, it was about to put an end to the Lord's heritage.
4 Le Seigneur, l'Éternel, m'envoya cette vision. Voici, le Seigneur, l'Éternel, proclamait le châtiment par le feu; Et le feu dévorait le grand abîme Et dévorait le champ.

5 Then said I, O Lord God, let there be an end: how will Jacob be able to keep his place? for he is small.

6 The Lord, changing his purpose about this, said, And this will not be.
6 L'Éternel se repentit de cela. Cela non plus n'arrivera pas, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel.

8 And the Lord said to me, Amos, what do you see? And I said, A weighted line. Then the Lord said, See, I will let down a weighted line among my people Israel; never again will my eyes be shut to their sin:
8 L'Éternel me dit: Que vois-tu, Amos? Je répondis: Un niveau. Et le Seigneur dit: Je mettrai le niveau au milieu de mon peuple d'Israël, Je ne lui pardonnerai plus;

8 Jehová entonces me dijo: ¿Qué ves, Amós? Y dije: Una plomada de albañil. Y el Señor dijo: He aquí, Yo pongo plomada de albañil en medio de mi pueblo Israel: No le pasaré más:
8 Und der HERR sprach zu mir: Was siehst du, Amos? Ich sprach: Eine Bleischnur. Da sprach der HERR zu mir: Siehe, ich will eine Bleischnur ziehen mitten durch mein Volk Israel und ihm nichts mehr übersehen;
9 And the high places of Isaac will be unpeopled, and the holy places of Israel will be made waste; and I will come up against the family of Jeroboam with the sword.
9 Les hauts lieux d'Isaac seront ravagés; Les sanctuaires d'Israël seront détruits, Et je me lèverai contre la maison de Jéroboam avec l'épée.

10 Then Amaziah, the priest of Beth-el, sent to Jeroboam, king of Israel, saying, Amos has made designs against you among the people of Israel: the land is troubled by his words.

10 Entonces Amasías sacerdote de Beth-el envió á decir á Jeroboam, rey de Israel: Amós se ha conjurado contra ti en medio de la casa de Israel: la tierra no puede sufrir todas sus palabras.
10 Da sandte Amazja, der Priester zu Beth-El, zu Jerobeam, dem König Israels, und ließ ihm sagen: Der Amos macht einen Aufruhr wider dich im Hause Israel; das Land kann seine Worte nicht ertragen.
11 For Amos has said, Jeroboam will be put to the sword, and Israel will certainly be taken away as a prisoner out of his land.
11 Car voici ce que dit Amos: Jéroboam mourra par l'épée, et Israël sera emmené captif loin de son pays.

11 Porque así ha dicho Amós: Jeroboam morirá á cuchillo, é Israel pasará de su tierra en cautiverio.

12 And Amaziah said to Amos, O seer, go in flight into the land of Judah, and there get your living by working as a prophet:

12 Und Amazja sprach zu Amos: Du Seher, gehe weg und flieh ins Land Juda und iß Brot daselbst und weissage daselbst.
13 But be a prophet no longer at Beth-el: for it is the holy place of the king, and the king's house.
13 Mais ne continue pas à prophétiser à Béthel, car c'est un sanctuaire du roi, et c'est une maison royale.

13 Y no profetices más en Beth-el, porque es santuario del rey, y cabecera del reino.

14 Then Amos in answer said to Amaziah, I am no prophet, or one of the sons of the prophets; I am a herdman and one who takes care of sycamore-trees:
14 Amos répondit à Amatsia: Je ne suis ni prophète, ni fils de prophète; mais je suis berger, et je cultive des sycomores.
14 Dúirt Amós le hAmaiziá á fhreagairt: “Ní fáidh mé ná mac fáidh, ach aoire agus coimeádaí seiceamar;
14 Entonces respondió Amós, y dijo á Amasías: No soy profeta, ni soy hijo de profeta, sino que soy boyero, y cogedor de cabrahigos:
14 Amos antwortete und sprach zu Amazja: Ich bin kein Prophet, auch keines Propheten Sohn, sondern ich bin ein Hirt, der Maulbeeren abliest;
15 And the Lord took me from the flock, and the Lord said to me, Go, be a prophet to my people Israel.
15 L'Éternel m'a pris derrière le troupeau, et l'Éternel m'a dit: Va, prophétise à mon peuple d'Israël.
15 ach ba é an Tiarna a thóg mé ón mbuachailleacht agus ba é a dúirt liom: ‘Téigh agus tairngir do mo phobal Iosrael.’ ”
15 Y Jehová me tomó de tras el ganado, y díjome Jehová: Ve, y profetiza á mi pueblo Israel.
15 aber der HERR nahm mich von der Herde und sprach zu mir: Geh hin und weissage meinem Volk Israel!
16 Now then, give ear to the word of the Lord: You say, Be no prophet to Israel, and say not a word against the people of Isaac.
16 Écoute maintenant la parole de l'Éternel, toi qui dis: Ne prophétise pas contre Israël, et ne parle pas contre la maison d'Isaac.
16 Mar sin éist le briathar an Tiarna: Deir tusa: “Ná tairngir i n‑aghaidh Iosrael, ná bí ag seanmóireacht in aghaidh theach Íosác.”
16 Ahora pues, oye palabra de Jehová. Tú dices: No profetices contra Israel, ni hables contra la casa de Isaac:
16 So höre nun des Herrn Wort. Du sprichst: Weissage nicht wider Israel und predige nicht wider das Haus Isaak!
17 So this is what the Lord has said: Your wife will be a loose woman in the town, and your sons and your daughters will be put to the sword, and your land will be cut up into parts by a line; and you yourself will come to your end in an unclean land, and Israel will certainly be taken away a prisoner out of his land.
17 A cause de cela, voici ce que dit l'Éternel: Ta femme se prostituera dans la ville, tes fils et tes filles tomberont par l'épée, ton champ sera partagé au cordeau; et toi, tu mourras sur une terre impure, et Israël sera emmené captif loin de son pays.
