1 Belshazzar the king made a great feast for a thousand of his lords, drinking wine before the thousand.
1 Le roi Belschatsar donna un grand festin à ses grands au nombre de mille, et il but du vin en leur présence.
1 Rinne Béilseazar rí fleá mhór dá mhaithe, míle díobh, agus d'ól sé fíon os comhair an mhíle seo.
1 EL rey Belsasar hizo un gran banquete á mil de sus príncipes, y en presencia de los mil bebía vino.
1 König Belsazer machte ein herrliches Mahl seinen tausend Gewaltigen und soff sich voll mit ihnen.
2 Belshazzar, while he was overcome with wine, gave orders for them to put before him the gold and silver vessels which Nebuchadnezzar, his father, had taken from the Temple in Jerusalem; so that the king and his lords, his wives and his other women, might take their drink from them.
2 Belschatsar, quand il eut goûté au vin, fit apporter les vases d'or et d'argent que son père Nebucadnetsar avait enlevés du temple de Jérusalem, afin que le roi et ses grands, ses femmes et ses concubines, s'en servissent pour boire.
2 Nuair a bhlais sé an fíon, d'ordaigh Béilseazar na soithí óir agus airgid a d'fhuadaigh a athair Nabúcadnazar ó Theampall Iarúsailéim a thabhairt i láthair chun go n‑ólfadh an rí agus a mhaithe, a mhná agus a leannáin, deoch astu.
2 Belsasar, con el gusto del vino, mandó que trajesen los vasos de oro y de plata que Nabucodonosor su padre había traído del templo de Jerusalem; para que bebiesen con ellos el rey y sus príncipes, sus mujeres y sus concubinas.
2 Und da er trunken war, hieß er die goldenen und silbernen Gefäße herbringen, die sein Vater Nebukadnezar aus dem Tempel zu Jerusalem weggenommen hatte, daß der König mit seinen Gewaltigen, mit seinen Weibern und mit seinen Kebsweibern daraus tränken.
3 Then they took in the gold and silver vessels which had been in the Temple of the house of God at Jerusalem; and the king and his lords, his wives and his other women, took wine from them.
3 Alors on apporta les vases d'or qui avaient été enlevés du temple, de la maison de Dieu à Jérusalem; et le roi et ses grands, ses femmes et ses concubines, s'en servirent pour boire.
3 Ansin tugadh i láthair na soithí óir agus airgid a fuadaíodh ón Teampall, Teach Dé in Iarúsailéim, agus d'ól an rí agus a mhaithe, a mhná agus a leannáin deoch astu.
3 Entonces fueron traídos los vasos de oro que habían traído del templo de la casa de Dios que estaba en Jerusalem, y bebieron con ellos el rey y sus príncipes, sus mujeres y sus concubinas.
3 Also wurden hergebracht die goldenen Gefäße, die aus dem Tempel, aus dem Hause Gottes zu Jerusalem, genommen waren; und der König, seine Gewaltigen, seine Weiber und Kebsweiber tranken daraus.
4 They took their wine and gave praise to the gods of gold and silver, of brass and iron and wood and stone.
4 Ils burent du vin, et ils louèrent les dieux d'or, d'argent, d'airain, de fer, de bois et de pierre.
4 D'ól siad fíon agus mhol siad na déithe óir agus airgid, práis agus iarainn, adhmaid agus cloiche.
4 Bebieron vino, y alabaron á los dioses de oro y de plata, de metal, de hierro, de madera, y de piedra.
4 Und da sie so soffen, lobten sie die goldenen, silbernen, ehernen, eisernen, hölzernen und steinernen Götter.
5 In that very hour the fingers of a man's hand were seen, writing opposite the support for the light on the white wall of the king's house, and the king saw the part of the hand which was writing.
5 En ce moment, apparurent les doigts d'une main d'homme, et ils écrivirent, en face du chandelier, sur la chaux de la muraille du palais royal. Le roi vit cette extrémité de main qui écrivait.
5 Dhealraigh go tobann méara láimhe duine agus í ag scríobh ar phlástar bhalla an pháláis ríoga laistiar den choinnleoir; bhí an rí ag faire ar an láimh ag scríobh.
5 En aquella misma hora salieron unos dedos de mano de hombre, y escribían delante del candelero sobre lo encalado de la pared del palacio real, y el rey veía la palma de la mano que escribía.
5 Eben zu derselben Stunde gingen hervor Finger wie einer Menschenhand, die schrieben, gegenüber dem Leuchter, auf die getünchte Wand in dem königlichen Saal; und der König ward gewahr der Hand, die da schrieb.
6 Then the colour went from the king's face, and he was troubled by his thoughts; strength went from his body, and his knees were shaking.
6 Alors le roi changea de couleur, et ses pensées le troublèrent; les jointures de ses reins se relâchèrent, et ses genoux se heurtèrent l'un contre l'autre.
6 Chlaochaigh a lí ar an rí; bhuair a smaointe é; tháinig ballchrith air agus chnag a ghlúine ar a chéile.
6 Entonces el rey se demudó de su color, y sus pensamientos lo turbaron, y desatáronse las ceñiduras de sus lomos, y sus rodillas se batían la una con la otra.
6 Da entfärbte sich der König, und seine Gedanken erschreckten ihn, daß ihm die Lenden schütterten und die Beine zitterten.
7 The king, crying out with a loud voice, said that the users of secret arts, the Chaldaeans, and the readers of signs, were to be sent for. The king made answer and said to the wise men of Babylon, Whoever is able to make out this writing, and make clear to me the sense of it, will be clothed in purple and have a chain of gold round his neck, and will be a ruler of high authority in the kingdom.
7 Le roi cria avec force qu'on fît venir les astrologues, les Chaldéens et les devins; et le roi prit la parole et dit aux sages de Babylone: Quiconque lira cette écriture et m'en donnera l'explication sera revêtu de pourpre, portera un collier d'or à son cou, et aura la troisième place dans le gouvernement du royaume.
7 Ghlaoigh an rí go hard go dtabharfaí draoithe, Caildéigh agus astralaithe isteach. Dúirt an rí le saoithe na Bablóine: “Cibé a léifidh an scríbhinn seo agus a léireoidh a ciall dom, cuirfear éide chorcra uime, slabhra óir ar a mhuineál, agus beidh sé ar an tríú rialtóir sa ríocht.”
7 El rey clamó en alta voz que hiciesen venir magos, Caldeos, y adivinos. Habló el rey, y dijo á los sabios de Babilonia: Cualquiera que leyere esta escritura, y me mostrare su declaración, será vestido de púrpura, y tendrá collar de oro á su cuello; y en el reino se enseñoreará el tercero.
7 Und der König rief überlaut, daß man die Weisen, Chaldäer und Wahrsager hereinbringen sollte. Und er ließ den Weisen zu Babel sagen: Welcher Mensch diese Schrift liest und sagen kann, was sie bedeute, der soll in Purpur gekleidet werden und eine goldene Kette am Halse tragen und der dritte Herr sein in meinem Königreiche.
8 Then all the king's wise men came in: but they were not able to make out the writing or give the sense of it to the king.
8 Tous les sages du roi entrèrent; mais ils ne purent pas lire l'écriture et en donner au roi l'explication.
8 Bhailigh saoithe uile an rí isteach ach níor fhéad siad an scríbhinn a léamh ná a ciall a léiriú don rí.
8 Entonces fueron introducidos todos los sabios del rey, y no pudieron leer la escritura, ni mostrar al rey su declaración.
8 Da wurden alle Weisen des Königs hereingebracht; aber sie konnten weder die Schrift lesen noch die Deutung dem König anzeigen.
9 Then King Belshazzar was greatly troubled and the colour went from his face, and his lords were at a loss.
9 Sur quoi le roi Belschatsar, fut très effrayé, il changea de couleur, et ses grands furent consternés.
9 Bhí an-bhuairt ar an rí Béilseazar, agus d'athraigh a lí; agus bhí a mhaithe i gcruachás.
9 Entonces el rey Belsasar fué muy turbado, y se le mudaron sus colores y alteráronse sus príncipes.
9 Darüber erschrak der König Belsazer noch härter und verlor ganz seine Farbe; und seinen Gewaltigen ward bange.
10 The queen, because of the words of the king and his lords, came into the house of the feast: the queen made answer and said, O King, have life for ever; do not be troubled by your thoughts or let the colour go from your face:
10 La reine, à cause des paroles du roi et de ses grands, entra dans la salle du festin, et prit ainsi la parole: O roi, vis éternellement! Que tes pensées ne te troublent pas, et que ton visage ne change pas de couleur!
10 Toisc bhriathar an rí agus a mhaithe tháinig an bhanríon go halla na fleá. Dúirt an bhanríon: “A rí, fad gach aon fhaid ar do shaol! Ná buaireadh do smaointe thú, agus ná teipeadh do dhealramh.
10 La reina, por las palabras del rey y de sus príncipes, entró á la sala del banquete. Y habló la reina, y dijo: Rey, para siempre vive, no te asombren tus pensamientos, ni tus colores se demuden:
10 Da ging die Königin um solcher Sache des Königs und seiner Gewaltigen willen hinein in den Saal und sprach: Der König lebe ewiglich! Laß dich deine Gedanken nicht so erschrecken und entfärbe dich nicht also!
11 There is a man in your kingdom in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of your father, light and reason like the wisdom of the gods were seen in him: and King Nebuchadnezzar, your father, made him master of the wonder-workers, and the users of secret arts, and the Chaldaeans, and the readers of signs;
11 Il y a dans ton royaume un homme qui a en lui l'esprit des dieux saints; et du temps de ton père, on trouva chez lui des lumières, de l'intelligence, et une sagesse semblable à la sagesse des dieux. Aussi le roi Nebucadnetsar, ton père, le roi, ton père, l'établit chef des magiciens, des astrologues, des Chaldéens, des devins,
11 Tá aon duine amháin i do ríocht ina bhfuil spiorad an Naomh-Dhé. Le linn d'athar fuarthas solas, tuiscint agus eagna ann ar aon dul le heagna na ndéithe. Rinne d'athair, an rí Nabúcadnazar, ceann de ar na draoithe, na hasarlaithe, na Caildéigh, agus ar na saoithe.
11 En tu reino hay un varón, en el cual mora el espíritu de los dioses santos; y en los días de tu padre se halló en él luz é inteligencia y sabiduría, como ciencia de los dioses: al cual el rey Nabucodonosor, tu padre, el rey tu padre constituyó príncipe sobre todos los magos, astrólogos, Caldeos, y adivinos:
11 Es ist ein Mann in deinem Königreich, der den Geist der heiligen Götter hat. Denn zu deines Vaters Zeit ward bei ihm Erleuchtung gefunden, Klugheit und Weisheit, wie der Götter Weisheit ist; und dein Vater, König Nebukadnezar, setzte ihn über die Sternseher, Weisen, Chaldäer und Wahrsager,
12 Because a most special spirit, and knowledge and reason and the power of reading dreams and unfolding dark sayings and answering hard questions, were seen to be in him, even in Daniel (named Belteshazzar by the king): now let Daniel be sent for, and he will make clear the sense of the writing.
12 parce qu'on trouva chez lui, chez Daniel, nommé par le roi Beltschatsar, un esprit supérieur, de la science et de l'intelligence, la faculté d'interpréter les songes, d'expliquer les énigmes, et de résoudre les questions difficiles. Que Daniel soit donc appelé, et il donnera l'explication.
12 Mar fuarthas sa Dainéil seo meon uaigneach agus eolas, tuiscint ar fhíseanna a mhiniú, ar thomhaiseanna a fhreagairt, agus ar fadhbanna a réiteach. Cuir gairm ar Dhainéil agus léireoidh sé an chiall duit.”
12 Por cuanto fué hallado en él mayor espíritu, y ciencia, y entendimiento, interpretando sueños, y declarando preguntas, y deshaciendo dudas, es á saber, en Daniel; al cual el rey puso por nombre Beltsasar. Llámese pues ahora á Daniel, y él mostrará la declaración.
12 darum daß ein hoher Geist bei ihm gefunden ward, dazu Verstand und Klugheit, Träume zu deuten, dunkle Sprüche zu erraten und verborgene Sachen zu offenbaren: nämlich Daniel, den der König ließ Beltsazar nennen. So rufe man nun Daniel; der wird sagen, was es bedeutet.
13 Then they took Daniel in before the king; the king made answer and said to Daniel, So you are that Daniel, of the prisoners of Judah, whom my father took out of Judah.
13 Alors Daniel fut introduit devant le roi. Le roi prit la parole et dit à Daniel: Es-tu ce Daniel, l'un des captifs de Juda, que le roi, mon père, a amenés de Juda?
13 Ansin tugadh Dainéil os comhair an rí, agus dúirt an rí le Dainéil: “An tusa Dainéil, de chine díbeartha Iúdá a thug m'athair, an rí, leis ó Iúdá?
13 Entonces Daniel fué traído delante del rey. Y habló el rey, y dijo á Daniel: ¿Eres tú aquel Daniel de los hijos de la cautividad de Judá, que mi padre trajo de Judea?
13 Da ward Daniel hinein vor den König gebracht. Und der König sprach zu Daniel: Bist du der Daniel, der Gefangenen einer aus Juda, die der König, mein Vater aus Juda hergebracht hat?
14 And I have had news of you, that the spirit of the gods is in you, and that light and reason and special wisdom have been seen in you.
14 J'ai appris sur ton compte que tu as en toi l'esprit des dieux, et qu'on trouve chez toi des lumières, de l'intelligence, et une sagesse extraordinaire.
14 Chuala á rá é go bhfuil spiorad an Naomh-Dhé ionat, agus go bhfuil solas agus tuiscint agus eagna thar barr ionat.
14 Yo he oído de ti que el espíritu de los dioses santos está en ti, y que en ti se halló luz, y entendimiento y mayor sabiduría.
14 Ich habe von dir hören sagen, daß du den Geist der Götter hast und Erleuchtung, Verstand und hohe Weisheit bei dir gefunden sei.
15 And now the wise men, the users of secret arts, have been sent in before me for the purpose of reading this writing and making clear to me the sense of it: but they are not able to make clear the sense of the thing:
15 On vient d'amener devant moi les sages et les astrologues, afin qu'ils lussent cette écriture et m'en donnassent l'explication; mais ils n'ont pas pu donner l'explication des mots.
15 Tugadh chugam saoithe agus draoithe chun an scríbhinn seo a léamh agus a ciall a fhoilsiú dom, ach chuaigh díobh a ciall a aimsiú.
15 Y ahora fueron traídos delante de mí, sabios, astrólogos, que leyesen esta escritura, y me mostrasen su interpretación: pero no han podido mostrar la declaración del negocio.
15 Nun habe ich vor mich fordern lassen die Klugen und Weisen, daß sie mir diese Schrift lesen und anzeigen sollen, was sie bedeutet: und sie können mir nicht sagen, was solches bedeutet.
16 And I have had news of you, that you have the power of making things clear, and of answering hard questions: now if you are able to make out the writing and give me the sense of it, you will be clothed in purple and have a gold chain round your neck and be a ruler of high authority in the kingdom.
16 J'ai appris que tu peux donner des explications et résoudre des questions difficiles; maintenant, si tu peux lire cette écriture et m'en donner l'explication, tu seras revêtu de pourpre, tu porteras un collier d'or à ton cou, et tu auras la troisième place dans le gouvernement du royaume.
16 Chuala mé á rá é go bhfuil ar do chumas mínithe a thabhairt agus fadhbanna a réiteach. Anois má fhéadann tú an scríbhinn seo a léamh agus a ciall a fhoilsiú dom, cuirfear éide chorcra umat, slabhra óir ar do mhuineál, agus beidh tú ar an tríú rialtóir sa ríocht.”
16 Yo pues he oído de ti que puedes declarar las dudas, y desatar dificultades. Si ahora pudieres leer esta escritura, y mostrarme su interpretación, serás vestido de púrpura, y collar de oro tendrás en tu cuello, y en el reino serás el tercer señor.
16 Von dir aber höre ich, daß du könnest Deutungen geben und das Verborgene offenbaren. Kannst du nun die Schrift lesen und mir anzeigen, was sie bedeutet, so sollst du mit Purpur gekleidet werden und eine golden Kette an deinem Halse tragen und der dritte Herr sein in meinem Königreiche.
17 Then Daniel made answer and said to the king, Keep your offerings for yourself, and give your rewards to another; but I, after reading the writing to the king, will give him the sense of it.
17 Daniel répondit en présence du roi: Garde tes dons, et accorde à un autre tes présents; je lirai néanmoins l'écriture au roi, et je lui en donnerai l'explication.
17 D'fhreagair Dainéil agus dúirt sé os comhair an rí: “Bíodh do bhronntanais agat duit féin agus tabhair do thuarastail do dhaoine eile! Ach ó mo thaobhsa de, léifidh mé an scríbhinn seo don rí agus nochtfaidh mé an chiall dó.
17 Entonces Daniel respondió, y dijo delante del rey: Tus dones sean para ti, y tus presentes dalos á otro. La escritura yo la leeré al rey, y le mostraré la declaración.
17 Da fing Daniel an und redete vor dem König: Behalte deine Gaben selbst und gib dein Geschenk einem andern; ich will dennoch die Schrift dem König lesen und anzeigen, was sie bedeutet.
18 As for you, O King, the Most High God gave to Nebuchadnezzar, your father, the kingdom and great power and glory and honour:
18 O roi, le Dieu suprême avait donné à Nebucadnetsar, ton père, l'empire, la grandeur, la gloire et la magnificence;
18 A rí, thug Dia, an Té is Airde, flaitheas agus mórgacht, glóir agus ríogacht, do Nabúcadnazar d'athair.
18 El altísimo Dios, oh rey, dió á Nabucodonosor tu padre el reino, y la grandeza, y la gloria, y la honra:
18 Herr König, Gott der Höchste hat deinem Vater, Nebukadnezar, Königreich, Macht, Ehre und Herrlichkeit gegeben.
19 And because of the great power he gave him, all peoples and nations and languages were shaking in fear before him: some he put to death and others he kept living, at his pleasure, lifting up some and putting others down as it pleased him.
19 et à cause de la grandeur qu'il lui avait donnée, tous les peuples, les nations, les hommes de toutes langues étaient dans la crainte et tremblaient devant lui. Le roi faisait mourir ceux qu'il voulait, et il laissait la vie à ceux qu'il voulait; il élevait ceux qu'il voulait, et il abaissait ceux qu'il voulait.
19 De bhrí na mórgachta a bhronn sé air chreathnaigh an uile phobal agus chine agus theanga roimhe le heagla; mharaíodh sé mar ab áil leis; thugadh sé anacal anama mar ba mhian leis; d'ardaíodh sé an té ab áil leis, d'íslíodh sé an té ba mhian leis.
19 Y por la grandeza que le dió, todos los pueblos, naciones, y lenguas, temblaban y temían delante de él. Los que él quería mataba, y daba vida á los que quería: engrandecía á los que quería, y á los que quería humillaba.
19 Und vor solcher Macht, die ihm gegeben war, fürchteten sich vor ihm alle Völker, Leute und Zungen. Er tötete wen er wollte; er ließ leben, wen er wollte; er erhöhte, wen er wollte; er demütigt, wen er wollte.
20 But when his heart was lifted up and his spirit became hard with pride, he was put down from his place as king, and they took his glory from him:
20 Mais lorsque son coeur s'éleva et que son esprit s'endurcit jusqu'à l'arrogance, il fut précipité de son trône royal et dépouillé de sa gloire;
20 Ach nuair a bhorr a chroí agus gur chruaigh a spiorad le neart uabhair, tiomáineadh óna shuí ríoga é agus baineadh a ghlóir de.
20 Mas cuando su corazón se ensoberbeció, y su espíritu se endureció en altivez, fué depuesto del trono de su reino, y traspasaron de él la gloria:
20 Da sich aber sein Herz erhob und er stolz und hochmütig ward, ward er vom königlichen Stuhl gestoßen und verlor seine Ehre
21 And he was sent out from among the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts', and he was living with the asses of the fields; he had grass for his food like the oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till he was certain that the Most High is ruler in the kingdom of men, and gives power over it to anyone at his pleasure.
21 il fut chassé du milieu des enfants des hommes, son coeur devint semblable à celui des bêtes, et sa demeure fut avec les ânes sauvages; on lui donna comme aux boeufs de l'herbe à manger, et son corps fut trempé de la rosée du ciel, jusqu'à ce qu'il reconnût que le Dieu suprême domine sur le règne des hommes et qu'il le donne à qui il lui plaît.
21 Díbríodh ó chomhluadar daoine é agus chuaigh a chroí i gcosúlacht le croí na mbeithíoch; lonnaigh sé leis na hasail fhiáine; d'ith sé féar dála an daimh; fliuchadh a chorp ó dhrúcht neimhe chun go raibh a fhios aige gurb é an té is Airde a rialaíonn ríocht na ndaoine, agus go gcuireann sé an té is mian leis ina feighil.
21 Y fué echado de entre los hijos de los hombres; y su corazón fué puesto con las bestias, y con los asnos monteses fué su morada. Hierba le hicieron comer, como á buey, y su cuerpo fué bañado con el rocío del cielo, hasta que conoció que el altísimo Dios se enseñorea del reino de los hombres, y que pondrá sobre él al que quisiere.
21 und ward verstoßen von den Leuten hinweg, und sein Herz ward gleich den Tieren, und er mußte bei dem Wild laufen und fraß Gras wie Ochsen, und sein Leib lag unterm Tau des Himmels, und er ward naß, bis daß er lernte, daß Gott der Höchste Gewalt hat über der Menschen Königreiche und gibt sie, wem er will.
22 And you, his son, O Belshazzar, have not kept your heart free from pride, though you had knowledge of all this;
22 Et toi, Belschatsar, son fils, tu n'as pas humilié ton coeur, quoique tu susses toutes ces choses.
22 Ach tusa, a Bhéilseazar, a mhac siúd, níor umhlaigh tú do chroí cé gurbh eol duit é seo go léir;
22 Y tú, su hijo Belsasar, no has humillado tu corazón, sabiendo todo esto:
22 Und du, Belsazer, sein Sohn, hast dein Herz nicht gedemütigt, ob du wohl solches alles weißt,
23 But you have been lifting yourself up against the Lord of heaven, and they have put the vessels of his house before you, and you and your lords, your wives and your women, have taken wine in them; and you have given praise to gods of silver and gold, of brass and iron and wood and stone, who are without the power of seeing or hearing, and without knowledge: and to the God in whose hand your breath is, and whose are all your ways, you have not given glory;
23 Tu t'es élevé contre le Seigneur des cieux; les vases de sa maison ont été apportés devant toi, et vous vous en êtes servis pour boire du vin, toi et tes grands, tes femmes et tes concubines; tu as loué les dieux d'argent, d'or, d'airain, de fer, de bois et de pierre, qui ne voient point, qui n'entendent point, et qui ne savent rien, et tu n'as pas glorifié le Dieu qui a dans sa main ton souffle et toutes tes voies.
23 ach d'ardaigh tú thú féin in aghaidh Tiarna neimhe; tugadh soithí a thí i do láthair agus d'ól tú féin agus do mhaithe, do mhná agus do leannáin, deoch fíona astu; agus mhol tú déithe óir agus airgid, práis agus iarainn, adhmaid agus cloiche, déithe gan radharc, gan éisteacht, gan eolas; ach an Dia a bhfuil d'anáil faoina láimh, agus do shlite uile ina sheilbh, níor thug tú glóir dó.
23 Antes contra el Señor del cielo te has ensoberbecido, é hiciste traer delante de ti los vasos de su casa, y tú y tus príncipes, tus mujeres y tus concubinas, bebisteis vino en ellos: demás de esto, á dioses de plata y de oro, de metal, de hierro, de madera, y de piedra, que ni ven, ni oyen, ni saben, diste alabanza: y al Dios en cuya mano está tu vida, y cuyos son todos tus caminos, nunca honraste.
23 sondern hast dich wider den HERRN des Himmels erhoben, und die Gefäße seines Hauses hat man vor dich bringen müssen, und du, deine Gewaltigen, deine Weiber und deine Kebsweiber habt daraus getrunken, dazu die silbernen, goldenen, ehernen, eisernen, hölzernen und steinernen Götter gelobt, die weder sehen noch hören noch fühlen; den Gott aber, der deinen Odem und alle deine Wege in seiner Hand hat, hast du nicht geehrt.
24 Then the part of the hand was sent out from before him, and this writing was recorded.
24 C'est pourquoi il a envoyé cette extrémité de main qui a tracé cette écriture.
