Ezekiel 27

1 The word of the Lord came to me again, saying,

1 Tháinig briathar an Tiarna chugam:

2 Son of man, say to the ruler of Tyre, This is what the Lord has said: Because your heart has been lifted up, and you have said, I am a god, I am seated on the seat of God in the heart of the seas; but you are man and not God, though you have made your heart as the heart of God:

2 “A mhic an duine, abair le prionsa na Tuíre: Seo mar a deir an Tiarna Dia: Dúirt tú le teann mórchúise: Is dia mé, suím in ionad Dé i lár na farraige.

3 See, you are wiser than Daniel; there is no secret which is deeper than your knowledge:

3 Voici, tu es plus sage que Daniel, Rien de secret n'est caché pour toi;

3 Is eagnaí thú ná Dainéil; níl aon rún ceilte ort.

3 He aquí que tú eres más sabio que Daniel; no hay secreto que te sea oculto;

4 By your wisdom and deep knowledge you have got power for yourself, and put silver and gold in your store-houses:

4 Par ta sagesse et par ton intelligence Tu t'es acquis des richesses, Tu as amassé de l'or et de l'argent Dans tes trésors;

4 Le gaois agus le tuiscint ghnóthaigh tú saibhreas; chruinnigh tú ór agus airgead i do chistí.

4 Con tu sabiduría y con tu prudencia te has juntado riquezas, y has adquirido oro y plata en tus tesoros;

5 By your great wisdom and by your trade your power is increased, and your heart is lifted up because of your power:

5 Mhéadaigh tú do stór le do chríonnacht i gcúrsaí gnó; bhorr do chroí de thairbhe do mhaoine.

5 und habest durch deine große Weisheit und Hantierung so große Macht überkommen; davon bist du so stolz geworden, daß du so mächtig bist;

6 For this cause the Lord has said: Because you have made your heart as the heart of God,

7 See, I am sending against you strange men, feared among the nations: they will let loose their swords against your bright wisdom, they will make your glory a common thing.

7 Féach, tabharfaidh mé coimhthígh anuas ort, an náisiún is barbartha ar na náisiúin; tarraingeoidh siad an claíomh in aghaidh scéimh d'eagna, truailleoidh siad do ghlóir.

8 They will send you down to the underworld, and your death will be the death of those who are put to the sword in the heart of the seas.

8 Teilgfidh siad síos thú go Seól, agus gheobhaidh tú anbhás i gceartlár na farraige móire.

9 Will you say, in the face of those who are taking your life, I am God? but you are man and not God in the hands of those who are wounding you.

9 An ndéarfaidh tú fós: ‘Is dia mé,’ i láthair lucht do mharfa? Ní hea, is duine thú agus ní dia, agus tú i lámha marfóirí!

9 Was gilt's, ob du dann vor deinem Totschläger wirst sagen: "Ich bin Gott", so du doch nicht Gott, sondern ein Mensch und in deiner Totschläger Hand bist?

10 Your death will be the death of those who are without circumcision, by the hands of men from strange lands: for I have said it, says the Lord.

10 Éagfaidh tú le láimh an choimhthígh amhail duine gan timpeallghearradh. Mise a dúirt - an Tiarna Dia a labhraíonn.”

11 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

11 Tháinig briathar an Tiarna chugam arís:

12 Son of man, make a song of grief for the king of Tyre, and say to him, This is what the Lord has said: You are all-wise and completely beautiful;

12 “A mhic an duine, caoin rí na Tuíre agus abair leis: Seo mar a deir an Tiarna Dia: Rug tú craobh na foirfeachta leat le feabhas do ghaoise, agus le maise do scéimhe;

13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; every stone of great price was your clothing, the sardius, the topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the emerald and the carbuncle: your store-houses were full of gold, and things of great price were in you; in the day when you were made they were got ready.

13 bhí tú in Éidin, i ngairdín Dé. Bhí gach sort seoide i ndéantús do chloca, sard, tópas, diamant, criosailít, beiril, oinisc, saifír, carmhogal, smaragaid; ba as ór a rinneadh do thiompáin agus do phíbeanna. Gléasadh an t‑iomlán an lá ar cruthaíodh thú.

14 I gave you your place with the winged one; I put you on the mountain of God; you went up and down among the stones of fire.

14 Chuir mé thú i gcuideachta ceiribín ungtha choimhdeachta; bhí tú ar shliabh naofa Dé, shiúil tú i measc na n‑aibhleog dearg-the.

15 There has been no evil in your ways from the day when you were made, till sin was seen in you.

15 Bhí d'iompar gan locht ón lá ar cruthaíodh thú go dtí gur tháinig an t‑olc fad leat.

16 Through all your trading you have become full of violent ways, and have done evil: so I sent you out shamed from the mountain of God; the winged one put an end to you from among the stones of fire.

Chaith mé síos thú mar rud truaillithe ó shliabh Dé; theilg an ceiribín coimhdeachta amach thú as lár na n‑aibhleog te.

Darum will ich dich entheiligen von dem Berge Gottes und will dich ausgebreiteten Cherub aus den feurigen Steinen verstoßen.

17 Your heart was lifted up because you were beautiful, you made your wisdom evil through your sin: I have sent you down, even to the earth; I have made you low before kings, so that they may see you.

17 D'éirigh do chroí teann as do scéimh, thruailligh tú do ghaois mar gheall ar do niamhracht. Theilg mé síos go talamh thú, nocht mé thú os comhair ríthe ionas go mbainfidís lán na súl asat.

18 By all your sin, even by your evil trading, you have made your holy places unclean; so I will make a fire come out from you, it will make a meal of you, and I will make you as dust on the earth before the eyes of all who see you.

18 Le hiomad do pheacaí agus caimiléireacht do ghnóthaí, thruailligh tú do shanctóirí; bhain mé tine asat le do dhó, rinne mé luaithreach díot ar an talamh os comhair gach duine a chonaic thú.

19 All who have knowledge of you among the peoples will be overcome with wonder at you: you have become a thing of fear, and you will never be seen again.

19 Is uafás thú ag do lucht aitheantais uile; is tubaisteach an chríoch a d'imigh ort; ní bheidh tú ann arís choíche.” In Éadan Shíodóine

20 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

20 Tháinig briathar an Tiarna chugam:

21 Son of man, let your face be turned to Zidon, and be a prophet against it, and say,

21 “A mhic an duine, iompaigh i dtreo Shíodóine agus tairngir ina héadan.

21 Hijo del hombre, pon tu rostro hacia Sidón, y profetiza contra ella;

22 These are the words of the Lord: See, I am against you, O Zidon; and I will get glory for myself in you: and they will be certain that I am the Lord, when I send my punishments on her, and I will be seen to be holy in her.

22 Abair: Seo mar a deir an Tiarna Dia: Féach! tá mise i do choinne, a Shíodón; foilseoidh mé mo ghlóir tríotsa, agus tuigfidh siad gur mise an Tiarna nuair a ghearrfaidh mé breithiúnais uirthi, agus nuair a thaispeánfaidh mé mo naofacht inti.

23 And I will send on her disease and blood in her streets; and the wounded will be falling in the middle of her, and the sword will be against her on every side; and they will be certain that I am the Lord.

Titfidh na mairbh inti leis an gclaíomh ina timpeall ar gach taobh, agus tuigfidh siad ansin gur mise an Tiarna.

24 And there will no longer be a plant with sharp points wounding the children of Israel, or a thorn troubling them among any who are round about them, who put shame on them; and they will be certain that I am the Lord.

24 Ní bheidh na comharsana tarcaisneacha arís mar dhris a scríobann, nó mar dhealg a stróiceann muintir Iosrael. Tuigfidh siad ansin gur mise an Tiarna Dia.

25 This is what the Lord has said: When I have got together the children of Israel from the peoples among whom they are wandering, and have been made holy among them before the eyes of the nations, then they will have rest in the land which is theirs, which I gave to my servant Jacob

25 “Seo mar a deir an Tiarna Dia: Nuair a bhaileoidh mé muintir Iosrael as na ciníocha ina bhfuil siad scaipthe, is mar seo a thaispeánfaidh mé mo naofacht ina measc os comhar na gciníocha. Cuirfidh siad fúthu ina dtír féin, an tír a thug mé do Iacób, mo sheirbhíseach.

25 So spricht der HERR HERR: Wenn ich das Haus Israel wieder versammeln werde von den Völkern, dahin sie zerstreut sind, so will ich vor den Heiden an ihnen erzeigen, daß ich heilig bin. Und sie sollen wohnen in ihrem Lande, das ich meinem Knecht Jakob gegeben habe;

26 And they will be safe there, building houses and planting vine-gardens and living without fear; when I have sent my punishments on all those who put shame on them round about them; and they will be certain that I am the Lord their God.

Nuair a ghearrfaidh mé breithiúnas ar na comharsana tarcaisneacha uile, tuigfidh siad gur mise an Tiarna, a nDia.”
