Ezekiel 20

1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

1 Tháinig briathar an Tiarna chugam:

2 Son of man, let your face be turned to Jerusalem, let your words be dropped in the direction of her holy place, and be a prophet against the land of Israel;

2 (21:7) Fils de l'homme, tourne ta face vers Jérusalem, Et parle contre les lieux saints! Prophétise contre le pays d'Israël!

2 “A mhic an duine, iompaigh i dtreo Iarúsailéim, cuir do mhallacht ar an sanctóir agus tairngir in aghaidh thír Iosrael.

2 Hijo del hombre, pon tu rostro contra Jerusalem, y derrama palabra sobre los santuarios, y profetiza sobre la tierra de Israel;

3 And say to the land of Israel, These are the words of the Lord: See, I am against you, and I will take my sword out of its cover, cutting off from you the upright and the evil.

3 Abair le tír Iosrael: ‘Seo mar a deir an Tiarna Dia: Féach, tá mé i do choinne, nochtfaidh mé mo chlaíomh as a thruaill agus maróidh mé idir fhíréan agus chiontach.

3 und sprich zum Lande Israel: So spricht der HERR HERR: Siehe, ich will an dich; ich will mein Schwert aus der Scheide ziehen und will in dir ausrotten beide, Gerechte und Ungerechte.

4 Because I am going to have the upright and the evil cut off from you, for this cause my sword will go out from its cover against all flesh from the south to the north:

4 Tarraingeoidh mé mo chlaíomh as a thruaill leis an bhfíréan agus an ciontach a leagan, ón Neigib ó thuaidh.

5 And all flesh will see that I the Lord have taken my sword out of its cover: and it will never go back.

5 Tuigfidh gach duine gur mise, an Tiarna, a tharraing a chlaíomh as a thruaill; ní chuirfear ar ais ann arís é.’

6 Make sounds of grief, son of man; with body bent and a bitter heart make sounds of grief before their eyes.

6 “Lig ochón asat, a mhic an duine; lig ochón cráite agus caoineadh goirt asat ina láthair siúd.

7 And when they say to you, Why are you making sounds of grief? then say, Because of the news, for it is coming: and every heart will become soft, and all hands will be feeble, and every spirit will be burning low, and all knees will be turned to water: see, it is coming and it will be done, says the Lord.

7 Agus ar do cheistiú acu: ‘Cad chuige an mhairg?’, freagroidh tú: ‘Mar gheall ar an drochscéala. Nuair a thiocfaidh sé, caillfidh an uile chroí a mhisneach agus an uile lámh a neart; titfidh gach spiorad i bhfanntais agus gach glúin in ísle brí. Tá sé buailte linn agus rachaidh chun críche - an Tiarna Dia a labhraíonn.’ ”

8 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

8 Tháinig briathar an Tiarna chugam:

9 Son of man, say as a prophet, These are the words of the Lord: Say, A sword, a sword which has been made sharp and polished:

9 “A mhic an duine, tairngir agus abair: Seo mar a deir an Tiarna Dia. Abair: An claíomh! An claíomh! Tá faobhar agus snas ar an gclaíomh.

9 Hijo del hombre, profetiza, y di: Así ha dicho el Señor Jehová: Di: La espada, la espada está afilada, y aun acicalada;

10 It has been made sharp to give death; it is polished so that it may be like a thunder-flame: ...

10 An faobhar don ár, an snas don drithliú. An cúis áthais é seo againn gur dhíspeag sibh ríshlat mo mhic amhail gach sórt crainn?

11 And I have given it to the polisher so that it may be taken in the hand: he has made the sword sharp, he has had it polished, to put it into the hand of him who gives death.

11 Snasaítear é chun úsáide; faobhraítear agus snasaítear é lena chur i láimh an mharfóra.

12 Give loud cries and make sounds of grief, O son of man: for it has come on my people, it has come on all the rulers of Israel: fear of the sword has come on my people: for this cause give signs of grief.

12 Lig uaill agus olagón asat, a mhic an duine. Tá sé i ndán do mo phobal, do phrionsaí uile Iosrael mar aon le mo phobal, atá tugtha suas don chlaíomh. Buail do cheathrú dá bhrí sin,

12 Clama y aúlla, oh hijo del hombre; porque ésta será sobre mi pueblo, será ella sobre todos los príncipes de Israel. Temores de espada serán á mi pueblo: por tanto, hiere el muslo;

An bhfuil aon teorainn lena chumhacht má dhíspeagann sibh an ríshlat? - an Tiarna Dia a labhraíonn.

14 So then, son of man, be a prophet, and put your hands together with a loud sound, and give two blows with the sword, and even three; it is the sword of those who are wounded, even the sword of the wounded; the great sword which goes round about them.

14 A mhic an duine, tairngir agus buail bosa, titeadh an claíomh faoi dhó nó faoi thrí, claíomh seo na marbh, claíomh an áir mhóir a chiorclaíonn iad.

15 In order that hearts may become soft, and the number of those who are falling may be increased, I have sent death by the sword against all their doors: you are made like a flame, you are polished for death.

15 Ionas go mbeidh uamhan ina gcroí agus go dtitfidh mórshlua, tá claíomh ar tarraingt agam ag an uile gheata; é ag drithliú agus faobhar air don ár.

16 Be pointed to the right, to the left, wherever your edge is ordered.

16 (21:21) Rassemble tes forces, tourne-toi à droite! Place-toi, tourne-toi à gauche! Dirige de tous côtés ton tranchant!

16 Treascair leat ar dheis agus ar chlé, faobhar ar aghaidh.

17 And I will put my hands together with a loud sound, and I will let my wrath have rest: I the Lord have said it.

Mise, an Tiarna, a labhair.” Rí na Bablóine ag an gCrosbhealach

Yo Jehová he hablado.

18 And the word of the Lord came to me again, saying,

18 Tháinig briathar an Tiarna chugam arís:

19 And you, son of man, have two ways marked out, so that the sword of the king of Babylon may come; let the two of them come out of one land: and let there be a pillar at the top of the road:

19 “A mhic an duine, socraigh dhá bhealach do theacht chlaíomh rí na Bablóine; bíodh an dá bhealach ag teacht ón tír chéanna. Tóg cuaille eolais ag ceann an bhealaigh chun na cathrach;

20 Put a pillar at the top of the road for the sword to come to Rabbah in the land of the children of Ammon, and to Judah and to Jerusalem in the middle of her.

20 socraigh bealach ar a dtiocfaidh an claíomh go Rábá na nAmónach agus go Iúdá agus go dún Iarúsailéim.

21 For the king of Babylon took his place at the parting of the ways, at the top of the two roads, to make use of secret arts: shaking the arrows this way and that, he put questions to the images of his gods, he took note of the inner parts of dead beasts.

21 Óir seasann rí na Bablóine ag an ngabhal ag ceann an dá bhealach a dhéanamh fáistine. Craitheann sé na saigheada, téann i gcomhairle leis an taráfaím, iniúchann na haenna.

22 At his right hand was the fate of Jerusalem, to give orders for destruction, to send up the war-cry, to put engines of war against the doors, lifting up earthworks, building walls.

22 Titeann an tuar do Iarúsailéim ina láimh dheas: ní mór dó focal spreagtha chun áir a thabhairt, gáir chatha a fhógairt, reithí cogaidh a dhíriú ar na geataí, mótaí cré agus ballaí léigir a thógáil.

23 And this answer given by secret arts will seem false to those who have given their oaths and have let them be broken: but he will keep the memory of evil-doing so that they may be taken.

23 Dar le muintir na cathrach, iadsan a thug mionna, is fáistine bhréige í. Ach cuirfidh seisean a gcionta i gcuimhne dóibh ionas go ngabhfar iad.

24 For this cause the Lord has said: Because you have made your evil-doing come to mind by the uncovering of your wrongdoing, causing your sins to be seen in all your evil-doings; because you have come to mind, you will be taken in them.

24 “Uime sin, is mar seo a deir an Tiarna: De bhrí gur thug sibh fianaise ar bhur gciontacht an oiread sin, gur fhoilsigh sibh bhur gcoireanna, agus gur léirigh sibh bhur bpeacaí in bhur n-uile imeachtaí; de bharr na fianaise seo gearrfar pionós oraibh.

25 And you, O evil one, wounded to death, O ruler of Israel, whose day has come in the time of the last punishment;

25 Agus fútsa, a phrionsa aindiaga urchóidigh Iosrael, a bhfuil lá do phionóis báis buailte leat,

25 Y tú, profano é impío príncipe de Israel, cuyo día vino en el tiempo de la consumación de la maldad;

26 This is what the Lord has said: Take away the holy head-dress, take off the crown: this will not be again: let that which is low be lifted up, and that which is high be made low.

26 déarfaidh an Tiarna: Tógfar uait an turban, bainfear díot an choróin; ní fhanfaidh an saol mar atá; ardófar an t-íseal agus ísleofar an t-ard.

27 I will let it be overturned, overturned, overturned: this will not be again till he comes whose right it is; and I will give it to him.

27 Ar lár, ar lár, ar lár a fhágfaidh mé í. Ní fhanfaidh an lorg is lú di nó go dtiocfaidh an fear ceart; is dósan a thabharfaidh mé í.” In Éadan na nAmónach

28 And you, son of man, say as a prophet, This is what the Lord has said about the children of Ammon and about their shame: Say, A sword, even a sword let loose, polished for death, to make it shining so that it may be like a flame:

28 “Tusa, a mhic an duine, tairngir agus abair: Seo mar a deir an Tiarna Dia faoi na hAmónaigh agus faoina masla: Abair: An claíomh, tá an claíomh ar tarraingt don ár, tá snas air chun scriosta agus chun drithlithe mar thintreach -

29 Your vision is to no purpose, your use of secret arts gives a false answer, to put it on the necks of evil-doers who are wounded to death, whose day has come, in the time of the last punishment.

29 le linn d'fhíseanna baotha agus do chomhairle le fáistiní bréige - lena leagan ar mhuineál an lucht aindiaga urchóidigh a bhfuil lá a bpionóis báis buailte leo.

30 Go back into your cover. In the place where you were made, in the land from which you were taken, I will be your judge.

Daorfaidh mé thú san áit ar cruthaíodh thú, i do thír dhúchais féin.

31 And I will let loose my burning passion on you, breathing out on you the fire of my wrath: and I will give you up into the hands of men like beasts, trained to destruction.

31 Silfidh mé mo dhíbheirg anuas ort, séidfidh mé tine mo chuthaigh i d'aghaidh, agus tabharfaidh mé suas thú i lámha lucht bhrúidiúil atá tugtha don scrios.

31 und will meinen Zorn über dich schütten; ich will das Feuer meines Grimmes über dich aufblasen und will dich Leuten, die brennen und verderben können, überantworten.

32 You will be food for the fire; your blood will be drained out in the land; there will be no more memory of you: for I the Lord have said it.

Óir mise, an Tiarna, a labhair.”

Ezekiel 22
