1 Now it came to the ears of Shephatiah, the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah, the son of Pashhur, and Jucal, the son of Shelemiah, and Pashhur, the son of Malchiah, that Jeremiah had said to all the people,
1 Schephathia, fils de Matthan, Guedalia, fils de Paschhur, Jucal, fils de Schélémia, et Paschhur, fils de Malkija, entendirent les paroles que Jérémie adressait à tout le peuple, en disant:
1 Ach chuala Seafaitiá mac Mhatán, Gadailiá mac Phaischiúr Iúcal mac Sealaimiá agus Paischiúr mac Mhailciá na briathra a bhí á rá ag Irimia leis an bpobal uile.
1 Y OYO Sephatías hijo de Mathán, y Gedalías hijo de Pashur, y Jucal hijo de Selemías, y Pashur hijo de Melchías, las palabras que Jeremías hablaba á todo el pueblo, diciendo:
1 Es hörten aber Sephatja, der Sohn Matthans, und Gedalja, der Sohn Pashurs, und Juchal, der Sohn Selemjas, und Pashur, der Sohn Malchias, die Reden, so Jeremia zu allem Volk redete und sprach:
2 These are the words of the Lord: Whoever goes on living in this town will come to his death by the sword or through need of food or by disease: but whoever goes out to the Chaldaeans will keep his life out of the power of the attackers and be safe.
2 Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Celui qui restera dans cette ville mourra par l'épée, par la famine ou par la peste; mais celui qui sortira pour se rendre aux Chaldéens, aura la vie sauve, sa vie sera son butin, et il vivra.
2 “Is mar seo a deir an Tiarna: ‘Cibé duine a fhanfaidh sa chathair seo éagfaidh sé leis an gclaíomh, leis an ngorta agus leis an bplá; ach cibé duine a fhágfaidh í agus a ghéillfidh do na Caildéigh mairfidh sé; tabharfaidh sé a anam leis.’
2 Así ha dicho Jehová: El que se quedare en esta ciudad morirá á cuchillo, ó de hambre, ó de pestilencia; mas el que saliere á los Caldeos vivirá, pues su vida le será por despojo, y vivirá.
2 So spricht der HERR: Wer in dieser Stadt bleibt, der wird durch Schwert, Hunger und Pestilenz sterben müssen; wer aber hinausgeht zu den Chaldäern, der soll lebend bleiben und wird sein Leben wie eine Beute davonbringen.
3 The Lord has said, This town will certainly be given into the hands of the army of the king of Babylon, and he will take it.
3 Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Cette ville sera livrée à l'armée du roi de Babylone, qui la prendra.
3 Is mar seo a deir an Tiarna: ‘Go deimhin tabharfar an chathair seo i láimh shlua rí na Bablóine agus gabhfar í.’ ”
3 Así ha dicho Jehová: De cierto será entregada esta ciudad en mano del ejército del rey de Babilonia, y tomarála.
3 Denn also spricht der HERR: Diese Stadt soll übergeben werden dem Heer des Königs zu Babel, und sie sollen sie gewinnen.
4 Then the rulers said to the king, Let this man be put to death, because he is putting fear into the hearts of the men of war who are still in the town, and into the hearts of the people, by saying such things to them: this man is not working for the well-being of the people, but for their damage.
4 Et les chefs dirent au roi: Que cet homme soit mis à mort! car il décourage les hommes de guerre qui restent dans cette ville, et tout le peuple, en leur tenant de pareils discours; cet homme ne cherche pas le bien de ce peuple, il ne veut que son malheur.
4 Mar sin labhair na ceannairí seo leis an rí: “Cuirtear an fear seo chun báis; gan amhras lagaíonn sé lámha fuíoll lucht cosanta na cathrach, agus lámha an phobail uile freisin, ag labhairt leo ar an gcaoi seo. Ní hé leas an phobail seo a iarrann mo dhuine, ach a n‑aimhleas.”
4 Y dijeron los príncipes al rey: Muera ahora este hombre; porque de esta manera hace desmayar las manos de los hombres de guerra que han quedado en esta ciudad, y las manos de todo el pueblo, hablándoles tales palabras; porque este hombre no busca la paz de este pueblo, sino el mal.
4 Da sprachen die Fürsten zum König: Laß doch diesen Mann töten; denn mit der Weise wendet er die Kriegsleute ab, so noch übrig sind in der Stadt, desgleichen das ganze Volk auch, weil er solche Worte zu ihnen sagt. Denn der Mann sucht nicht, was diesem Volk zum Frieden, sondern zum Unglück dient.
5 Then Zedekiah the king said, See, he is in your hands: for the king was not able to do anything against them.
5 Le roi Sédécias répondit: Voici, il est entre vos mains; car le roi ne peut rien contre vous.
5 “Tá sé in bhur lámha, mar is eol daoibh,” a dúirt an rí Zidicíá, “óir ní fhéadann an rí aon rud a dhéanamh in bhur n‑aghaidh.”
5 Y dijo el rey Sedechîas: Helo ahí, en vuestras manos está; que el rey no podrá contra vosotros nada.
5 Der König Zedekia sprach: Siehe, er ist in euren Händen; denn der König kann nichts wider euch.
6 So they took Jeremiah and put him into the water-hole of Malchiah, the king's son, in the place of the armed watchmen: and they let Jeremiah down with cords. And in the hole there was no water, but wet earth: and Jeremiah went down into the wet earth.
6 Alors ils prirent Jérémie, et le jetèrent dans la citerne de Malkija, fils du roi, laquelle se trouvait dans la cour de la prison; ils descendirent Jérémie avec des cordes. Il n'y avait point d'eau dans la citerne, mais il y avait de la boue; et Jérémie enfonça dans la boue.
6 Thóg siad Irimia mar sin agus theilg i dtobar an Phrionsa Mailciá é, a bhí i gCúirt an Gharda, á ligean síos le rópaí. Ní raibh uisce ar bith sa tobar, ach amháin láib, agus chuaigh Irimia faoi sa láib.
6 Entonces tomaron ellos á Jeremías, é hiciéronlo echar en la mazmorra de Malchîas hijo de Amelech, que estaba en el patio de la cárcel; y metieron á Jeremías con sogas. Y en la mazmorra no había agua, sino cieno; y hundióse Jeremías en el cieno.
6 Da nahmen sie Jeremia und warfen ihn in die Grube Malchias, des Königssohnes, die am Vorhof des Gefängnisses war, da nicht Wasser, sondern Schlamm war, und Jeremia sank in den Schlamm.
7 Now it came to the ears of Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, an unsexed servant in the king's house, that they had put Jeremiah into the water-hole; the king at that time being seated in the doorway of Benjamin:
7 Ébed Mélec, l'Éthiopien, eunuque qui était dans la maison du roi, apprit qu'on avait mis Jérémie dans la citerne. Le roi était assis à la porte de Benjamin.
7 Ach chuala Eibid Meilic an tAetóipeach, duine de na coillteáin a bhí i bpálás an rí, gur chuir siad Irimia sa tobar. Nuair a bhí an rí ina shuí i nGeata Bhiniáimin,
7 Y oyendo Ebed-melec, hombre etiope, eunuco que estaba en casa del rey, que habían puesto á Jeremías en la mazmorra, y estando sentado el rey á la puerta de Benjamín,
7 Als aber Ebed-Melech, der Mohr, ein Kämmerer in des Königs Hause, hörte, daß man Jeremia hatte in die Grube geworfen, und der König eben saß im Tor Benjamin,
8 And Ebed-melech went out from the king's house and said to the king,
8 Ébed Mélec sortit de la maison du roi, et parla ainsi au roi:
8 chuaigh Eibid Meilic amach as an bpálás agus labhair leis an rí:
8 Ebed-melec salió de la casa del rey, y habló al rey, diciendo:
8 da ging Ebed-Melech aus des Königs Hause und redete mit dem König und sprach:
9 My lord the king, these men have done evil in all they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have put into the water-hole; and he will come to his death in the place where he is through need of food: for there is no more bread in the town.
9 O roi, mon seigneur, ces hommes ont mal agi en traitant de la sorte Jérémie, le prophète, en le jetant dans la citerne; il mourra de faim là où il est, car il n'y a plus de pain dans la ville.
9 “A thiarna, a rí,” ar sé, “rinne na fir seo olc agus a leithéid de bhail a chur ar an bhfáidh Irimia; theilg siad sa tobar é, áit a bhfaighidh sé bás [den ghorta mar nach bhfuil aon arán fágtha sa chathair].”
9 Mi señor el rey, mal hicieron estos varones en todo lo que han hecho con Jeremías profeta, al cual hicieron echar en la mazmorra; porque allí se morirá de hambre, pues no hay más pan en la ciudad.
9 Mein Herr König, die Männer handeln übel an dem Propheten Jeremia, daß sie ihn haben in die Grube geworfen, da er muß Hungers sterben; denn es ist kein Brot mehr in der Stadt.
10 Then the king gave orders to Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, saying, Take with you three men from here and get Jeremiah out of the water-hole before death overtakes him.
10 Le roi donna cet ordre à Ébed Mélec, l'Éthiopien: Prends ici trente hommes avec toi, et tu retireras de la citerne Jérémie, le prophète, avant qu'il ne meure.
10 Ansin d'ordaigh an rí do Eibid Meilic an tAetóipeach: “Beir leat as seo triúr fear agus tarraing aníos Irimia fáidh as an tobar sula bhfaighe sé bás.”
10 Entonces mandó el rey al mismo Ebed-melec Etiope, diciendo: Toma en tu poder treinta hombres de aquí, y haz sacar á Jeremías profeta de la mazmorra, antes que muera.
10 Da befahl der König Ebed-Melech, dem Mohren, und sprach: Nimm dreißig Männer mit dir von diesen und zieh den Propheten Jeremia aus der Grube, ehe denn er sterbe.
11 So Ebed-melech took the men with him and went into the house of the king, to the place where the clothing was kept, and got from there old clothing and bits of old cloth, and let them down by cords into the water-hole where Jeremiah was.
11 Ébed Mélec prit avec lui les hommes, et se rendit à la maison du roi, dans un lieu au-dessous du trésor; il en sortit des lambeaux usés et de vieux haillons, et les descendit à Jérémie dans la citerne, avec des cordes.
11 Thug Eibid Meilic na fir leis agus chuaigh isteach sa phálás go dtí stóras an fheistis; rug leis as sin roinnt seanbhalcaisí a lig sé síos le rópaí go Irimia sa tobar.
11 Y tomó Ebed-melec en su poder hombres, y entró á la casa del rey al lugar debajo de la tesorería, y tomó de allí trapos viejos, traídos, viejos, y andrajosos, y echólos á Jeremías con sogas en la mazmorra.
11 Und Ebed-Melech nahm die Männer mit sich und ging in des Königs Haus unter die Schatzkammer und nahm daselbst zerrissene und vertragene alte Lumpen und ließ sie an einem Seil hinab zu Jeremia in die Grube.
12 And Ebed-melech the Ethiopian said to Jeremiah, Put these bits of old cloth under your arms under the cords. And Jeremiah did so.
12 Ébed Mélec, l'Éthiopien, dit à Jérémie: Mets ces lambeaux usés et ces haillons sous tes aisselles, sous les cordes. Et Jérémie fit ainsi.
12 Ansin dúirt Eibid Meilic, an tAetóipeach, le Irimia: “Is duitse na seanbhalcaisí seo, agus cuir i do ascaill iad faoi na rópaí.” Rinne Irimia sin.
12 Y dijo Ebed-melec Etiope á Jeremías: Pon ahora esos trapos viejos, traídos, y rotos, bajo los sobacos de tus brazos, debajo de las sogas. Y lo hizo así Jeremías.
12 Und Ebed-Melech, der Mohr, sprach zu Jeremia: Lege diese zerrissenen und vertragenen alten Lumpen unter deine Achseln um das Seil. Und Jeremia tat also.
13 So pulling Jeremiah up with the cords they got him out of the water-hole: and Jeremiah was kept in the place of the armed watchmen.
13 Ils tirèrent Jérémie avec les cordes, et le firent monter hors de la citerne. Jérémie resta dans la cour de la prison.
13 Tharraing siad Irimia aníos le rópaí ansin agus thóg as an tobar é. Agus d'fhan Irimia i gCúirt an Gharda. An tAgallamh deiridh idir Irimia agus Zidicíá
13 De este modo sacaron á Jeremías con sogas, y subiéronlo de la mazmorra; y quedó Jeremías en el patio de la cárcel.
13 Und sie zogen Jeremia herauf aus der Grube an den Stricken; und blieb also Jeremia im Vorhof des Gefängnisses.
14 Then King Zedekiah sent for Jeremiah the prophet and took him into the rulers' doorway in the house of the Lord: and the king said to Jeremiah, I have a question to put to you; keep nothing back from me.
14 Le roi Sédécias envoya chercher Jérémie, le prophète, et le fit venir auprès de lui dans la troisième entrée de la maison de l'Éternel. Et le roi dit à Jérémie: J'ai une chose à te demander; ne me cache rien.
14 Chuir Zidicíá an rí fios agus rug sé chuige an fáidh Irimia don treas geata i dTeampall an Tiarna. “Teastaíonn focal leat uaim,” arsan rí le Irimia, “ná ceil aon ní orm.”
14 Después envió el rey Sedechîas, é hizo traer á sí á Jeremías profeta á la tercera entrada que estaba en la casa de Jehová. Y dijo el rey á Jeremías: Pregúntote una palabra, no me encubras ninguna cosa.
14 Und der König Zedekia sandte hin und ließ den Propheten Jeremia zu sich holen unter den dritten Eingang am Hause des HERRN. Und der König sprach zu Jeremia: Ich will dich etwas fragen; verhalte mir nichts.
15 Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, If I give you the answer to your question, will you not certainly put me to death? and if I make a suggestion to you, you will not give it a hearing.
15 Jérémie répondit à Sédécias: Si je te la dis, ne me feras-tu pas mourir? Et si je te donne un conseil, tu ne m'écouteras pas.
15 Dúirt Irimia le Zidicíá: “Má dhéanaim foilsiú duit nach gcuirfidh tú chun báis mé go cinnte? Agus má thugaim comhairle duit, ní éisteoidh tú liom.”
15 Y Jeremías dijo á Sedechîas: Si te lo denunciare, ¿no es verdad que me matarás? y si te diere consejo, no has de escucharme.
15 Jeremia sprach zu Zedekia: Sage ich dir etwas, so tötest du mich doch; gebe ich dir aber einen Rat, so gehorchst du mir nicht.
16 So King Zedekiah gave his oath to Jeremiah secretly, saying, By the living Lord, who gave us our life, I will not put you to death, or give you up to these men who are desiring to take your life.
16 Le roi Sédécias jura secrètement à Jérémie, en disant: L'Éternel est vivant, lui qui nous a donné la vie! je ne te ferai pas mourir, et je ne te livrerai pas entre les mains de ces hommes qui en veulent à ta vie.
16 Ansin mhionnaigh Zidicíá an rí mar seo faoi rún do Irimia: “Mar a mhaireann an Tiarna, a thug an t‑anam seo dúinn, ní chuirfidh mé chun báis thú, ná ní thabharfaidh mé thú i láimh na bhfear seo a iarrann do bhás.”
16 Y juró el rey Sedechîas en secreto á Jeremías, diciendo: Vive Jehová que nos hizo esta alma, que no te mataré, ni te entregaré en mano de estos varones que buscan tu alma.
16 Da schwur der König Zedekia dem Jeremia heimlich und sprach: So wahr der HERR lebt, der uns dieses Leben gegeben hat, so will ich dich nicht töten noch den Männern in die Hände geben, die dir nach dem Leben stehen.
17 Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, These are the words of the Lord, the God of armies, the God of Israel: If you go out to the king of Babylon's captains, then you will have life, and the town will not be burned with fire, and you and your family will be kept from death:
17 Jérémie dit alors à Sédécias: Ainsi parle l'Éternel, le Dieu des armées, le Dieu d'Israël: Si tu vas te rendre aux chefs du roi de Babylone, tu auras la vie sauve, et cette ville ne sera pas brûlée par le feu; tu vivras, toi et ta maison.
17 Ansin dúirt Irimia le Zidicíá: “Is mar seo a deir an Tiarna, Dia na Slua, Dia Iosrael: ‘Má théann tú amach agus má ghéilleann tú d'oifigigh rí na Bablóine, tabharfaidh tú d'anam leat agus ní dhófar an chathair seo go talamh; mairfidh tú féin agus do chlann.
17 Entonces dijo Jeremías á Sedechîas: Así ha dicho Jehová Dios de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: Si salieres luego á los príncipes del rey de Babilonia, tu alma vivirá, y esta ciudad no será puesta á fuego; y vivirás tú y tu casa:
17 Und Jeremia sprach zu Zedekia: So spricht der HERR, der Gott Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Wirst du hinausgehen zu den Fürsten des Königs zu Babel, so sollst du leben bleiben, und diese Stadt soll nicht verbrannt werden, sondern du und dein Haus sollen am Leben bleiben;
18 But if you do not go out to the king of Babylon's captains, then this town will be given into the hands of the Chaldaeans and they will put it on fire, and you will not get away from them.
18 Mais si tu ne te rends pas aux chefs du roi de Babylone, cette ville sera livrée entre les mains des Chaldéens, qui la brûleront par le feu; et toi, tu n'échapperas pas à leurs mains.
18 Ach mura dtéann tú amach agus géilleadh d'oifigigh rí na Bablóine, ansin tabharfar an chathair seo i láimh na gCaildéach a dhófaidh go talamh í; agus ní rachaidh tusa óna lámha.’ ”
18 Mas si no salieres á los príncipes del rey de Babilonia, esta ciudad será entregada en mano de los Caldeos, y la pondrán á fuego, y tú no escaparás de sus manos.
18 wirst du aber nicht hinausgehen zu den Fürsten des Königs zu Babel, so wird diese Stadt den Chaldäern in die Hände gegeben, und sie werden sie mit Feuer verbrennen, und du wirst auch nicht ihren Händen entrinnen.
19 And King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah, I am troubled on account of the Jews who have gone over to the Chaldaeans, for fear that they may give me up to them and they will put me to shame.
19 Le roi Sédécias dit à Jérémie: Je crains les Juifs qui ont passé aux Chaldéens; je crains qu'on ne me livre entre leurs mains, et qu'ils ne m'outragent.
19 Dúirt an rí Zidicíá le Irimia ansin: “Tá eagla orm roimh na Giúdaigh atá imithe cheana do thaobh na gCaildéach, ar fhaitíos go dtabharfaí ina lámha siúd mé agus go dtabharfaidís ainíde orm.”
19 Y dijo el rey Sedechîas á Jeremías: Témome á causa de los Judíos que se han adherido á los Caldeos, que no me entreguen en sus manos y me escarnezcan.
19 Der König Zedekia sprach zu Jeremia: Ich sorge mich aber, daß ich den Juden, so zu den Chaldäern gefallen sind, möchte übergeben werden, daß sie mein spotten.
20 But Jeremiah said, They will not give you up: be guided now by the word of the Lord as I have given it to you, and it will be well for you, and you will keep your life.
20 Jérémie répondit: On ne te livrera pas. Écoute la voix de l'Éternel dans ce que je te dis; tu t'en trouveras bien, et tu auras la vie sauve.
20 “Ní thabharfar dóibh thú,” d'fhreagair Irimia, “ach umhlaigh do ghuth an Tiarna a labhraimse leat. Iarraim sin d'achainí ort, agus beidh sé go maith agatsa agus mairfidh tú beo.
20 Y dijo Jeremías: No te entregarán. Oye ahora la voz de Jehová que yo te hablo, y tendrás bien, y vivirá tu alma.
20 Jeremia sprach: Man wird dich nicht übergeben. Gehorche doch der Stimme des HERRN, die ich dir sage, so wird dir's wohl gehen, und du wirst lebend bleiben.
21 But if you do not go out, this is what the Lord has made clear to me:
21 Mais si tu refuses de sortir, voici ce que l'Éternel m'a révélé:
21 Ach má dhiúltaíonn tú dul amach, is é seo an scéal a d'fhoilsigh an Tiarna domsa:
21 Mas si no quisieres salir, esta es la palabra que me ha mostrado Jehová:
21 Wirst du aber nicht hinausgehen, so ist dies das Wort, das mir der HERR gezeigt hat:
22 See, all the rest of the women in the house of the king of Judah will be taken out to the king of Babylon's captains, and these women will say, Your nearest friends have been false to you and have got the better of you: they have made your feet go deep into the wet earth, and they are turned away back from you.
22 Toutes les femmes qui restent dans la maison du roi de Juda seront menées aux chefs du roi de Babylone, et elles diront: Tu as été trompé, dominé, par ceux qui t'annonçaient la paix; et quand tes pieds sont enfoncés dans la boue, ils se retirent.
22 radharc ar na mná go léir a fágadh i bpálás rí Iúdá, iad á dtreorú amach go hoifigigh rí na Bablóine agus iad ag canadh mar seo: ‘Mheall siad thú; rug siad bua ort, do chairde breátha! An dtéann do chosa faoi sa láib? Siúd leo chun bóthair!’
22 Y he aquí que todas las mujeres que han quedado en casa del rey de Judá, serán sacadas á los príncipes del rey de Babilonia; y ellas mismas dirán: Te han engañado, y prevalecido contra ti tus amigos; atollaron en el cieno tus pies, se volvieron atrás.
22 Siehe, alle Weiber, die noch vorhanden sind in dem Hause des Königs in Juda, werden hinaus müssen zu den Fürsten des Königs zu Babel; diese werden dann sagen: Ach deine Tröster haben dich überredet und verführt und in Schlamm geführt und lassen dich nun stecken.
23 And they will take all your wives and your children out to the Chaldaeans: and you will not get away out of their hands, but will be taken by the hands of the king of Babylon: and this town will be burned with fire.
23 Toutes tes femmes et tes enfants seront menés aux Chaldéens; et toi, tu n'échapperas pas à leurs mains, tu seras saisi par la main du roi de Babylone, et cette ville sera brûlée par le feu.
23 Sea, tabharfar amach do mhná céile uile agus do chlann chun na gCaildéach, agus ní rachaidh tú féin saor óna lámha, ach beidh tú i do phríosúnach i gcrúba rí na Bablóine. Maidir leis an gcathair seo, dófar go talamh [í].”
23 Sacarán pues, todas tus mujeres y tus hijos á los Caldeos, y tú no escaparás de sus manos, sino que por mano del rey de Babilonia serás preso, y á esta ciudad quemará á fuego.
23 Also werden dann alle deine Weiber und Kinder hinaus müssen zu den Chaldäern, und du selbst wirst ihren Händen nicht entgehen; sondern du wirst vom König von Babel gegriffen, und diese Stadt wird mit Feuer verbrannt werden.
24 Then Zedekiah said to Jeremiah, Let no man have knowledge of these words, and you will not be put to death.
24 Sédécias dit à Jérémie: Que personne ne sache rien de ces discours, et tu ne mourras pas.
24 Dúirt Zidicíá ansin le Irimia: “Ná cluineadh duine ar bith eile na briathra seo nó éagfaidh tú.
24 Y dijo Sedechîas á Jeremías: Nadie sepa estas palabras, y no morirás.
24 Und Zedekia sprach zu Jeremia: Siehe zu, daß niemand diese Rede erfahre, so wirst du nicht sterben.
25 But if it comes to the ears of the rulers that I have been talking with you, and they come and say to you, Give us word now of what you have said to the king and what the king said to you, keeping nothing back and we will not put you to death;
25 Si les chefs apprennent que je t'ai parlé, et s'ils viennent te dire: Rapporte-nous ce que tu as dit au roi, et ce que le roi t'a dit, ne nous cache rien, et nous ne te ferons pas mourir, -
25 Má chluineann na feidhmeannaigh gur labhair mise leat agus go dtiocfaidh siad chugat agus go n‑abróidh siad: ‘Inis dúinn céard dúirt tú leis an rí agus céard dúirt an rí leat; ná ceil orainn aon rud, nó cuirfimid chun báis thú,’
25 Y si los príncipes oyeren que yo he hablado contigo, y vinieren á ti y te dijeren: Decláranos ahora qué hablaste con el rey, no nos lo encubras, y no te mataremos; asimismo qué te dijo el rey;
25 Und wenn's die Fürsten erführen, daß ich mit dir geredet habe, und kämen zu dir und sprächen: Sage an, was hast du mit dem König geredet, leugne es uns nicht, so wollen wir dich nicht töten, und was hat der König mit dir geredet?
26 Then you are to say to them, I made my request to the king, that he would not send me back to my death in Jonathan's house.
26 tu leur répondras: J'ai supplié le roi de ne pas me renvoyer dans la maison de Jonathan, de peur que je n'y meure.

26 Les dirás: Supliqué al rey que no me hiciese tornar á casa de Jonathán porque no me muriese allí.
26 so sprich: Ich habe den König gebeten, daß er mich nicht wiederum ließe in des Jonathan Haus führen; ich möchte daselbst sterben.
27 Then all the rulers came to Jeremiah, questioning him: and he gave them an answer in the words the king had given him orders to say. So they said nothing more to him; for the thing was not made public.
27 Tous les chefs vinrent auprès de Jérémie et le questionnèrent. Il leur répondit entièrement comme le roi l'avait ordonné. Ils gardèrent alors le silence et se retirèrent, car la chose ne s'était pas répandue.

27 Y vinieron luego todos los príncipes á Jeremías, y preguntáronle: y él les respondió conforme á todo lo que el rey le había mandado. Con esto se dejaron de él, porque el negocio no se había oído.
27 Da kamen alle Fürsten zu Jeremia und fragten ihn; und er sagte ihnen, wie ihm der König befohlen hatte. Da ließen sie von ihm, weil sie nichts erfahren konnten.
28 So Jeremiah was kept in the place of the armed watchmen till the day when Jerusalem was taken.
28 Jérémie resta dans la cour de la prison jusqu'au jour de la prise de Jérusalem.
