Isaiah 62

1 Who is this who comes from Edom, with blood-red robes from Bozrah? he whose clothing is fair, stepping with pride in his great strength? I whose glory is in the right, strong for salvation.

1 Cé hé seo chugainn as Eadóm, as Bozrá agus é dearg ina chuid éadaigh? É i mborr agus i mbláth faoina chulaith, ag céimniú i mbarr a nirt. - Mise atá ann, ag fógairt fíréantachta, mise atá in acmhainn slánaithe!

2 Why is your clothing red, and why are your robes like those of one who is crushing the grapes?

2 Cén fáth gur dearg ar fad atá do chulaith ort, ar nós éadach duine a bheadh ag satailt sa dabhach fíona?

3 I have been crushing the grapes by myself, and of the peoples there was no man with me: in my wrath and in my passion, they were crushed under my feet; and my robes are marked with their life-blood, and all my clothing is red.

3 Phasáil mé an chantaoir i m'aonar; duine de mo mhuintir ní raibh in éindí liom. Mar sin shatail mé orthu agus mo racht feirge orm, agus shiúil mé orthu i gcuthach dom; steall súlach a gcroí ar mo chulaith agus smálaigh mo chuid éadaigh ar fad.

4 For the day of punishment is in my heart, and the year for the payment of the price for my people has come.

4 Mar bhí cinnte ar lá an díoltais i mo chroí agam, agus bhí bliain fuascailte mo mhuintire tagtha.

5 And I saw that there was no helper, and I was wondering that no one gave them support: so my arm did the work of salvation, and my wrath was my support.

Mo lámh féin mar sin a chuidigh liom, agus m'fhearg, is í a rinne taca dom.

5 Y miré y no había quien ayudará, y maravilléme que no hubiera quien sustentase: y salvóme mi brazo, y sostúvome mi ira.

6 And in my passion the peoples were crushed under my feet, and broken in my wrath, and I put down their strength to the earth.

Salm

7 I will give news of the mercies of the Lord, and his great acts, even all the things the Lord has done for us, in his great grace to the house of Israel; even all he has done for us in his unnumbered mercies.

7 Is mian liom comharthaí caoindúthrachta an Tiarna a aithris, agus éachtaí an Tiarna a fhógairt, gach a ndearna an Tiarna ar ár son agus a iolmhaitheasa i leith teaghlach Iosrael, gach ar bhronn sé orthu le barr dáimhe agus ilchomharthaí a chaoindúthrachta.

8 For he said, Truly they are my people, children who will not be false: so he was their saviour out of all their trouble.

8 Dúirt sé: “Cinnte is iad mo mhuintir iad, mo chlann mhac nach dual dóibh bréag.”

9 It was no sent one or angel, but he himself who was their saviour: in his love and in his pity he took up their cause, and he took them in his arms, caring for them all through the years.

9 ina dtrioblóidí go léir. Ní teachtaire ná aingeal ach é féin a scaoil saor iad.

10 But they went against him, causing grief to his holy spirit: so he was turned against them, and made war on them.

10 Ach d'éirigh siad amach ina choinne agus chuir brón ar a spiorad naofa. Is leis sin a d'iompaigh sé ina namhaid dóibh agus chuir sé cogadh orthu é féin.

11 Then the early days came to their minds, the days of Moses his servant: and they said, Where is he who made the keeper of his flock come up from the sea? where is he who put his holy spirit among them,

11 Alors son peuple se souvint des anciens jours de Moïse: Où est celui qui les fit monter de la mer, Avec le berger de son troupeau? Où est celui qui mettait au milieu d'eux son esprit saint;

11 Ansin chuimhnigh siad ar na laethanta a bhí agus ar Mhaois a thug a mhuintir chun saoirse: Cá bhfuil an té úd a thug aníos ón muir iad féin agus tréadaí a thréada? Cá bhfuil an té a chuir isteach ann a spiorad naofa;

12 He who made the arm of his glory go at the right hand of Moses, by whom the waters were parted before them, to make himself an eternal name;

12 Qui dirigea la droite de Moïse, Par son bras glorieux; Qui fendit les eaux devant eux, Pour se faire un nom éternel;

12 a chuir a chumhacht ghlórmhar uaidh ag gluaiseacht ar dheasláimh Mhaois; a scoilt na huiscí ó chéile rompu chun ainm síoraí a bhaint amach dó féin;

13 He who made them go through the deep waters, like a horse in the waste land?

13 a stiúraigh iad tríd an duibheagán chomh réidh le capall ar an machaire fiáin,

14 Like the cattle which go down into the valley, they went without falling, the spirit of the Lord guiding them: so you went before your people, to make yourself a great name.

14 gan tuisliú ach oiread le heallach ag druidim síos bun gleanna, agus spiorad an Tiarna á seoladh chun suaimhnis. Is amhlaidh sin a threoraigh tú do mhuintir chun clú agus mórcháil a thuilleamh duit féin.

15 Let your eyes be looking down from heaven, from your holy and beautiful house: where is your deep feeling, the working of your power? do not keep back the moving of your pity and your mercies:

15 Breathnaigh anuas ó na flaithis agus féach, ó arda na naofachta agus na glóire mar a bhfuil do chónaí. Cá bhfuil do dhíbheirg agus do ghaisce, do theasghrá agus do thrócaire chugainn? Ná seas i leataobh uainn

16 For you are our father, though Abraham has no knowledge of us, and Israel gives no thought to us: you, O Lord, are our father; from the earliest days you have taken up our cause.

16 óir is tusa ár n‑athair, cé nach n‑aithníonn Abrahám sinn agus nach cuimhin le hIosrael sinn níos mó. Tusa, a Thiarna, is athair dúinn; ár bhfuascailteoir, is é sin d'ainm riamh anall.

16 Tú empero eres nuestro padre, si bien Abraham nos ignora, é Israel no nos conoce: tú, oh Jehová, eres nuestro padre; nuestro Redentor perpetuo es tu nombre.

17 O Lord, why do you send us wandering from your ways, making our hearts hard, so that we have no fear of you? Come back, because of your servants, the tribes of your heritage.

17 Cén fáth, a Thiarna, a bhfuil muid ar seachrán agat i bhfad ó do shlite, agus ár gcroíthe á gcruachan ionas nach eagal leo thú níos mó?

18 Why have evil men gone over your holy place, so that it has been crushed under the feet of our haters?

18 Cén fáth ar sháraigh lucht an oilc do shanctóir, cén fáth ar shatail ár naimhde ar do scrín?

18 Sie besitzen dein heiliges Volk schier ganz; deine Widersacher zertreten dein Heiligtum.

19 We have become as those who were never ruled by you, on whom your name was not named.

19 Is fada nach beo dúinn faoi do réir, ionann agus nárbh é d'ainmse atá orainn.

Isaiah 64
