Isaiah 43

1 And now, give ear, O Jacob my servant, and Israel whom I have taken for myself:

1 Écoute maintenant, ô Jacob, mon serviteur! O Israël, que j'ai choisi!

1 Éist anois, a Iacóib, a ghiolla liom,

2 The Lord who made you, forming you in your mother's body, the Lord, your helper, says, Have no fear, O Jacob my servant, and you, Jeshurun, whom I have taken for myself.

2 a Iosrael, atá tofa agam. Seo mar a deir an Tiarna a rinne thú, a dhealbhaigh ón mbroinn i leith thú agus a chabhraíonn leat: Ná bíodh eagla ort, a ghiolla liom, a Iacóib, a Isiriún atá tofa agam.

3 For I will send water on the land needing it, and streams on the dry earth: I will let my spirit come down on your seed, and my blessing on your offspring.

3 Óir doirtfidh mé uisce anuas ar an triomlach, uisce ina thuilte ar an talamh spalptha. Doirtfidh mé mo spiorad ar do phór, mo bheannacht ar shliocht do shleachta.

4 And they will come up like grass in a well-watered field, like water-plants by the streams.

5 One will say, I am the Lord's; and another will give himself the name, Jacob; another will put a mark on his hand, I am the Lord's, and another will take the name of Israel for himself.

5 Déarfaidh an duine seo: ‘Is leis an Tiarna mé’, tabharfaidh duine eile ainm Iacóib air féin. Scríobhfaidh duine eile ar a láimh ‘An Tiarna’, agus sloinnfidh é féin ó Iosrael.” Creideamh in aon Dia amháin

6 The Lord, the King of Israel, even the Lord of armies who has taken up his cause, says, I am the first and the last, and there is no God but me.

6 Mar seo a labhraíonn an Tiarna, rí Iosrael, agus a fhuascailteoir, Tiarna na Slua: “Is mise an tús agus an deireadh; ach mise amháin, níl déithe ar bith eile ann.

7 If there is one like me, let him come forward and say it, let him make it clear and put it in order before me: who has made clear in the past the things to come? let him make clear the future to me.

Amach leis anseo agus labhraíodh sé; taispeánadh sé é féin agus cuireadh sé a chás i mo láthair!

8 Have no fear, be strong in heart; have I not made it clear to you in the past, and let you see it? and you are my witnesses. Is there any God but me, or a Rock of whom I have no knowledge?

Tá sibh féin in bhur bhfinnéithe agam, an bhfuil Dia eile ann seachas mé féin? Níl aon Charraig eile ann; ní eol dom a leithéid!”

9 Those who make a pictured image are all of them as nothing, and the things of their desire will be of no profit to them: and their servants see not, and have no knowledge; so they will be put to shame.

9 Lucht déanta íol iad go léir is neamhní iad agus níl aon sochar sna rudaí seo ar a bhfuil a ngnaoi. Níl radharc ná tuiscint ag a lucht freastail agus dá bharr sin beidh siad náirithe go deo.

10 Whoever makes a god, makes nothing but a metal image in which there is no profit.

11 Truly, all those who make use of secret arts will be put to shame, and their words of power are only words of men: let them all come forward together; they will all be in fear and be put to shame.

11 Is amhlaidh a bheidh náire ar fhíréin na deilbhe sin agus ceann faoi ar lucht a déanta.

12 The iron-worker is heating the metal in the fire, giving it form with his hammers, and working on it with his strong arm: then for need of food his strength gives way, and for need of water he becomes feeble.

13 The woodworker is measuring out the wood with his line, marking it out with his pencil: after smoothing it with his plane, and making circles on it with his instrument, he gives it the form and glory of a man, so that it may be placed in the house.

13 Tógann an saor adhmaid an tomhas, dearann sé an íomhá lena chailc, snoíonn sé í le siséal agus leanann sé an dearadh le compás. Cuireann sé crot agus ceannaithe duine dhaonna uirthi chun go dté sí a chónaí i dteampall.

14 He has cedars cut down for himself, he takes an oak and lets it get strong among the trees of the wood; he has an ash-tree planted, and the rain gives it growth.

14 Bhí sé tar éis céadras a ghearradh, nó cufróg nó dair a roghnú i measc crainn na foraoise, nó b'fhéidir gur céadras a chuir sé agus gur chuir an fhearthainn ag fás é.

15 Then it will be used to make a fire, so that a man may get warm; he has the oven heated with it and makes bread: he makes a god with it, to which he gives worship: he makes a pictured image out of it, and goes down on his face before it.

Ach an duine seo, dealbhaíonn sé dia as agus caitheann é féin ar a bhéal faoi os a chomhair.

16 With part of it he makes a fire, and on the fire he gets meat cooked and takes a full meal: he makes himself warm, and says, Aha! I am warm, I have seen the fire:

Ha! Je me chauffe, je vois la flamme!

16 Leath amháin de, adaíonn sé tine leis, róstann feoil air agus itheann a dhóthain. Déanann sé a ghoradh féin chomh maith á rá: “Á, tá mé do mo ghoradh féin agus ag breathnú isteach sa tine.”

16 Parte del leño quemará en el fuego; con parte de él comerá carne, aderezará asado, y se saciará; después se calentará, y dirá: ¡Oh! heme calentado, he visto el fuego;

17 And the rest of it he makes into a god, even his pictured image: he goes down on his face before it, giving worship to it, and making prayer to it, saying, Be my saviour; for you are my god.

17 Lena bhfuil fágtha déanann sé dia dó féin, íol a sléachtann sé agus a síneann sé é féin béal faoi os a chomhair, ag guí chuige agus á rá: “Saor mé, óir is tú mo dhia.”

18 They have no knowledge or wisdom; for he has put a veil over their eyes, so that they may not see; and on their hearts, so that they may not give attention.

18 Níl eolas ná tuiscint ag a leithéidí. Tá a súile dúnta sa chaoi nach bhfeiceann siad, agus a gcroí sa chaoi nach dtuigeann.

19 And no one takes note, no one has enough knowledge or wisdom to say, I have put part of it in the fire, and made bread on it; I have had a meal of the flesh cooked with it: and am I now to make the rest of it into a false god? am I to go down on my face before a bit of wood?

19 Ní smaoiníonn siad orthu féin, níl sé de chiall ná de réasún acu a rá: “An ea nár dhóigh mé a leath ar an tine, nach ndearna mé arán a bhruith ar an ngríosach agus feoil a róstadh le hithe? An bhfuil mé chun rud úrghránna a dhéanamh as an gcuid eile? An bhfuil mé chun sléachtadh i láthair ceap adhmaid?”

20 As for him whose food is the dust of a dead fire, he has been turned from the way by a twisted mind, so that he is unable to keep himself safe by saying, What I have here in my hand is false.

20 An té a bhfuil dúil aige sa luaithreach ar an dóigh sin, tá mearbhall ar a intinn agus é ar seachrán. Níl sé in ann é féin a shábháil agus a rá: “An rud seo i mo láimh agam, níl ann ach cur i gcéill!”

21 Keep these things in mind, O Jacob; and you Israel, for you are my servant: I have made you; you are my servant; O Israel, I will not let you go out of my memory.

21 Souviens-toi de ces choses, ô Jacob! O Israël! car tu es mon serviteur; Je t'ai formé, tu es mon serviteur; Israël, je ne t'oublierai pas.

21 A Iacóib, cuimhnigh ar an méid seo, cuimhnigh gur tusa mo ghiolla, a Iosrael. Is mé a dhealbhaigh thú i do ghiolla dom; a Iosrael, ní ligfidh mé chun dearmaid thú.

22 I have put your evil doings out of my mind like a thick cloud, and your sins like a mist: come back to me; for I have taken up your cause.

22 Tá do pheacaí scaipthe agam mar a bheadh néal agus do chionta ar nós scamaill.

23 Make a song, O heavens, for the Lord has done it: give a loud cry, you deep parts of the earth: let your voices be loud in song, you mountains, and you woods with all your trees: for the Lord has taken up the cause of Jacob, and will let his glory be seen in Israel.

23 A spéartha, liúirígí le háthas, mar tá an Tiarna i mbun gnímh. Scairtigí amach, a dhuibheagáin na talún! A shléibhte, ceolaigí le háthas, agus tusa freisin, a fhoraois, agus gach crann atá ionat! Óir tá an Tiarna tar éis Iacób a scaoileadh saor agus a ghlóir a fhoilsiú in Iosrael! Neart an Tiarna

24 The Lord, who has taken up your cause, and who gave you life in your mother's body, says, I am the Lord who makes all things; stretching out the heavens by myself, and giving the earth its limits; who was with me?

24 Ainsi parle l'Éternel, ton rédempteur, Celui qui t'a formé dès ta naissance: Moi, l'Éternel, j'ai fait toutes choses, Seul j'ai déployé les cieux, Seul j'ai étendu la terre.

24 Is amhlaidh a deir an Tiarna, d'fhuascailteoir, an té a dhealbhaigh thú ón mbroinn i leith: Is mise, an Tiarna, a rinne an uile rud, a spréigh na spéartha amach ar mo chonlán féin. Chuir mé bun faoin talamh, agus cé bhí ag cuidiú liom?

24 Así dice Jehová, tu Redentor, y formador tuyo desde el vientre: Yo Jehová, que lo hago todo, que extiendo solo los cielos, que extiendo la tierra por mí mismo;

24 So spricht der HERR, dein Erlöser, der dich von Mutterleibe hat bereitet: Ich bin der HERR, der alles tut, der den Himmel ausbreitet allein und die Erde weit macht ohne Gehilfen;

25 Who makes the signs of those who give word of the future come to nothing, so that those who have knowledge of secret arts go off their heads; turning the wise men back, and making their knowledge foolish:

25 Is mise a chuireann éarlaisí na ndraíodóirí ó rath agus a chuireann lucht asarlaíochta as a gcéill, a sheolann na saoithe ar a gcúil uaim agus a dhéanann seafóid dá stuaim,

25 Que deshago las señales de los adivinos, y enloquezco á los agoreros; que hago tornar atrás los sabios, y desvanezco su sabiduría;

26 Who makes the word of his servants certain, and gives effect to the purposes of his representatives; who says of Jerusalem, Her people will come back to her; and of the towns of Judah, I will give orders for their building, and will make her waste places fertile again:

26 a chuireann téagracht i mbriathar mo shearbhónta, a chuireann bearta mo theachtaí i gcrích. Is mise a deir i dtaobh Iarúsailéim: “Bíodh cónaí inti!” agus faoi bhailte Iúdá: “Tógtar iad arís!” agus a dhéanann na ballóga sin a atógáil.

26 Que despierta la palabra de su siervo, y cumple el consejo de sus mensajeros; que dice á Jerusalem: Serás habitada; y á las ciudades de Judá: Reedificadas serán, y sus ruinas levantaré;

26 bestätigt aber das Wort seines Knechtes und vollführt den Rat seiner Boten; der zu Jerusalem spricht: Sei bewohnt! und zu den Städten Juda's: Seid gebaut! und ihre Verwüstung richte ich auf;

27 Who says to the deep, Be dry, and I will make your rivers dry:

27 Je dis à l'abîme: Dessèche-toi, Je tarirai tes fleuves.

27 Is mise a deir leis an Aigéan: “Bí tirim! triomóidh mé do chuid sruthanna.”

27 Que dice al profundo: Sécate, y tus ríos haré secar;

28 Who says of Cyrus, He will take care of my sheep, and will do all my pleasure: who says of Jerusalem, I will give the word for your building; and of the Temple, Your bases will be put in place.

28 Is mise a deir i dtaobh Chíorais: “Is é mo thréadaí é! déanfaidh sé mar is rún liom,” ag rá i dtaobh Iarúsailéim: “Tógtar suas arís í.” Agus i dtaobh an Teampaill: “Cuirtear ar bun é as an nua!”

Isaiah 45
