Psalms 108

1 To the chief music-maker. Of David. A Psalm. God of my praise, let my prayer be answered;

1 Au chef des chantres. De David. Psaume.

1 Do stiúrthóir an chóir. Salm le Dáiví. A Dhia, dá dtugaim moladh ná bí i do thost,

1 OH Dios de mi alabanza, no calles;

1 (Ein Psalm Davids, vorzusingen.) Gott, mein Ruhm, schweige nicht!

2 For the mouth of the sinner is open against me in deceit: his tongue has said false things against me.

2 óir tá béal na n‑éagráifeach agus na bhfealltach ar leathadh i m'aghaidh.

2 Denn sie haben ihr gottloses und falsches Maul gegen mich aufgetan und reden wider mich mit falscher Zunge;

3 Words of hate are round about me; they have made war against me without cause.

3 Labhraíonn siad liom i mbriathra éithigh, timpeallaíonn siad mé le briathra an fhuatha; tugann siad fúm gan fáth.

4 For my love they give me back hate; but I have given myself to prayer.

4 I ndíol mo ghrá dóibh bíonn siad do mo chúiseamh; ach bímse ag guí.

5 They have put on me evil for good; hate in exchange for my love.

5 Díolann siad liom an t‑olc in aghaidh na maitheasa, an fuath in aghaidh an ghrá.

6 Put an evil man over him; and let one be placed at his right hand to say evil of him.

6 Gríosaigh fear na hurchóide ina choinne; agus seasadh an cúisitheoir ar a dheis.

7 When he is judged, let the decision go against him; and may his prayer become sin.

7 Nuair a thugtar breith air go ndéantar a dhaoradh; agus go raibh a achainí in aistear.

8 Let his life be short; let another take his position of authority.

8 Gura tearc iad laethanta a shaoil; agus go nglaca neach eile a chúram.

9 Let his children have no father, and his wife be made a widow.

9 Go raibh a chlann ina ndílleachtaí gan athair; agus go bhfágtar a bhean chéile ina baintreach.

10 Let his children be wanderers, looking to others for their food; let them be sent away from the company of their friends.

10 Go raibh a chlann ina lucht fáin ag iarraidh déirce; agus go bhfágtar iad gan teach gan treabhchas.

11 Let his creditor take all his goods; and let others have the profit of his work.

11 Go bhfaighe fear an ghaimbín a bhfuil aige; agus go mille strainséirí toradh a shaothair.

12 Let no man have pity on him, or give help to his children when he is dead.

12 Ná raibh neach ann chun gar a dhéanamh dó ná chun trua a ghlacadh dá dhílleachtaí.

13 Let his seed be cut off; in the coming generation let their name go out of memory.

13 Go ndéantar a shliocht a mhilleadh, agus a shloinne a scriosadh in aon ghlúin amháin.

14 Let the Lord keep in mind the wrongdoing of his fathers; and may the sin of his mother have no forgiveness.

14 Cuimhníodh an Tiarna ar urchóid a aithreacha agus nár scriostar peaca a mháthar amach.

15 Let them be ever before the eyes of the Lord, so that the memory of them may be cut off from the earth.

15 Go raibh siad i bhfianaise an Tiarna de shíor; go staithe sé a gcuimhne ó fhréamh as an talamh.

16 Because he had no mercy, but was cruel to the low and the poor, designing the death of the broken-hearted.

16 Toisc nárbh áil leis trócaire a dhéanamh ach go ndearna géarleanúint go bás ar an ainniseoir agus an dearóil, agus gur mharaigh sé fear an chroí chráite.

17 As he took pleasure in cursing, so let it come on him; and as he had no delight in blessing, let it be far from him.

17 An mhallacht ina raibh a dhúil go dtaga sí anuas air; gura fada uaidh an bheannacht nárbh áil leis.

18 He put on cursing like a robe, and it has come into his body like water, and into his bones like oil.

18 Go raibh sé gléasta i mallachtaí mar a bheadh in éadach; go dté siad isteach ina bhaill bheatha amhail uisce agus isteach ina chnámha amhail ola.

18 Er zog an den Fluch wie sein Hemd; der ist in sein Inwendiges gegangen wie Wasser, und wie Öl in seine Gebeine;

19 Let it be to him as a robe which he puts on, let it be like a band which is round him at all times.

19 Go raibh siad mar chulaith á chlúdach, mar chrios a bheadh á chrioslú de shíor.

20 Let this be the reward given to my haters from the Lord, and to those who say evil of my soul.

20 Gurab amhlaidh a roinnfidh an Tiarna le lucht mo chúisithe, agus leis an dream a dhéanann béadán ar m'anam.

21 But, O Lord God, give me your help, because of your name; take me out of danger, because your mercy is good.

21 Bí i do thaca agam, a Thiarna Dia, as ucht d'ainm; agus fóir orm le feabhas do bhuanghrá.

22 For I am poor and in need, and my heart is wounded in me.

22 Óir táimse go dearóil dealbh; agus tá mo chroí á chrá istigh ionam.

23 I am gone like the shade when it is stretched out: I am forced out of my place like a locust.

23 Leáim as mar scáil fhada an tráthnóna scuabtar chun siúil mé mar an lócaiste.

24 My knees are feeble for need of food; there is no fat on my bones.

25 As for me, they make sport of me; shaking their heads when they see me.

25 Ráinig mé i m'ábhar scige ag gach aon neach; agus bíonn a bhfeiceann mé ag croitheadh a gceann.

26 Give me help, O Lord my God; in your mercy be my saviour;

26 Secours-moi, Éternel, mon Dieu! Sauve-moi par ta bonté!

26 Cabhraigh liom, a Thiarna, a Dhia liom; saor mé de réir do bhuanghrá.

27 So that they may see that it is the work of your hand; that you, Lord, have done it.

27 Bíodh a fhios acu gurb í seo do lámhsa, gur tusa, a Thiarna, a rinne é seo.

28 They may give curses but you give blessing; when they come up against me, put them to shame; but let your servant be glad.

28 S'ils maudissent, toi tu béniras; S'ils se lèvent, ils seront confus, Et ton serviteur se réjouira.

28 Mallachtaídís! ach bíse dár mbeannachadh; go ndéantar mo naimhde a náiriú agus go ndéana do ghiolla gairdeas.

29 Let my haters be clothed with shame, covering themselves with shame as with a robe.

29 Go n‑éadaítear lucht mo chúisithe i dtarcaisne; agus go gclúdaítear iad le náire mar le fallaing.

30 I will give the Lord great praise with my mouth; yes, I will give praise to him among all the people.

30 Je louerai de ma bouche hautement l'Éternel, Je le célébrerai au milieu de la multitude;

30 Gabhfaidh mé buíochas leis an Tiarna os ard; tabharfaidh mé moladh dó i measc an tslua.

31 For he is ever at the right hand of the poor, to take him out of the hands of those who go after his soul.

31 Óir bhí sé ina sheasamh ar dheasláimh an bhochtáin lena shábháil ó lucht a dhaortha.
