Psalms 34

1 Of David. O Lord, be on my side against those who are judging me; be at war with those who make war against me.

1 De David. Éternel! défends-moi contre mes adversaires, Combats ceux qui me combattent!

1 [Salm le] Dáiví. Tagair mo chúis, a Thiarna, in aghaidh mo naimhde: cuir cath ar a mbíonn ag troid liom.

HERR, hadere mit meinen Haderern; streite wider meine Bestreiter.

2 Be a breastplate to me, and give me your help.

2 Gabh chugat do sciath agus do lúireach, agus éirigh do mo chúnamh.

3 Take up your spear and keep back my attackers; say to my soul, I am your salvation.

3 Beartaigh an ga agus [an tsleá] in aghaidh lucht mo thóraíochta. Abair le m'anam, a Thiarna: “Is mise do shlánú.”

4 Let them be overcome and put to shame who make attempts to take my soul; let those who would do me damage be turned back and made foolish.

4 Go dtugtar náire agus tarcaisne ar an dream atá ar tí mo mharaithe. Go gcuirtear ar gcúl faoi náire lucht beartaithe oilc i m'aghaidh.

5 Let them be like dust from the grain before the wind; let the angel of the Lord send them in flight.

5 Go gcuire aingeal an Tiarna an ruaig orthu amhail cáith roimh an ngaoth;

6 Let their way be dark and full of danger; let them be troubled by the angel of the Lord.

6 go raibh a slí go sleamhain dúdhorcha agus aingeal Dé ar a dtí.

7 For without cause they have put a net ready for me secretly, in which to take my soul.

7 Leathadar a líon dom gan chúis: rinneadar uaigh dom gan ábhar.

8 Let destruction come on them without their knowledge; let them be taken themselves in their secret nets, falling into the same destruction.

8 Go dtaga orthu díothú gan choinne; go gceaptar iad féin sa líon a chuir siad i bhfolach romham. Go dtite siad sa chlais.

9 And my soul will have joy in the Lord; it will be glad in his salvation.

10 All my bones will say, Lord, who is like you? The saviour of the poor man from the hands of the strong, of him who is poor and in need from him who takes his goods.

10 Déarfaidh mé ó mo chroí go hiomlán: “Cé is cosúil leat, a Thiarna, an té a tharrthaíonn an truán ón tréanfhear, an duine dealbh ón tíoránach?”

11 False witnesses got up: they put questions to me about crimes of which I had no knowledge.

11 Éiríonn finnéithe bréige i m'éadan do mo cheistiú ach mé aineolach.

11 Levantáronse testigos falsos; Demandáronme lo que no sabía;

12 They gave me back evil for good, troubling my soul.

12 Díolann siad an t‑olc in aghaidh na maithe liom: tá m'anam go brónach.

13 But as for me, when they were ill I put on the clothing of sorrow: I went without food and was sad, and my prayer came back again to my heart.

13 Ich aber, wenn sie krank waren, zog einen Sack an, tat mir wehe mit Fasten und betete stets von Herzen;

14 My behaviour was as if it had been my friend or my brother: I was bent low in grief like one whose mother is dead.

15 But they took pleasure in my trouble, and came together, yes, low persons came together against me without my knowledge; they never came to an end of wounding me.

15 Puis, quand je chancelle, ils se réjouissent et s'assemblent, Ils s'assemblent à mon insu pour m'outrager, Ils me déchirent sans relâche;

15 Ach anois, ó tá mé san fhaopach cruinníonn siad faoi áthas. Tagann siad gan fhios orm, do mo bhualadh, ‘s iad ag tromaíocht gan scíth orm.

15 Pero ellos se alegraron en mi adversidad, y se juntaron; Juntáronse contra mí gentes despreciables, y yo no lo entendía: Despedazábanme, y no cesaban;

16 Like men of deceit they put me to shame; the voice of their wrath was loud against me.

16 Bíonn siad ag magadh fúm gan stad gan staonadh, is a bhfiacla ag díoscán i m'aghaidh.

17 Lord, how long will you be looking on? take my soul from their destruction, my life from the lions.

17 Seigneur!

17 Cá fhad a bheidh tú ag amharc orthu, a Thiarna? Tar agus fóir orm! Déan m'anam a fhuascailt óna n‑ionsaithe; m'anam ó na leoin.

18 I will give you praise in the great meeting; I will give you honour among a strong people.

18 Ich will dir danken in der großen Gemeinde, und unter vielem Volk will ich dich rühmen.

19 Do not let my haters be glad over me falsely; let not those who are against me without cause make sport of me.

19 An dream atá ina naimhde gan chúis dom, nár dhéana siad gairdeas umam. Agus an dream a thugann fuath dom gan fáth, nár chaocha siad a súile orm.

20 For they do not say words of peace; in their deceit they are designing evil things against the quiet ones in the land.

20 Is fuath leo muintir shuaimhneach na tíre: cumann siad cealg ina n‑aghaidh.

21 Their mouths were open wide against me, and they said, Aha, aha, our eyes have seen it.

21 Ils ouvrent contre moi leur bouche, Ils disent: Ah! ah! nos yeux regardent! -

21 Deir siad, agus a mbéal ar leathadh acu: “Há, há!

22 You have seen this, O Lord; be not unmoved: O Lord, be not far from me.

22 Chonaic tusa é, a Thiarna; ná bí i do thost; ná bí i bhfad uaim, a Thiarna!

22 Tú lo has visto, oh Jehová; no calles: Señor, de mí no te alejes.

23 Be awake, O Lord, be moved to take up my cause, my God and my Lord.

23 Réveille-toi, réveille-toi pour me faire justice! Mon Dieu et mon Seigneur, défends ma cause!

23 Múscail! agus brostaigh chun mo chosanta a Dhia liom; a Thiarna bí liom.

24 Be my judge, O Lord my God, in your righteousness; do not let them be glad over me.

24 Tabhair breith orm de réir do chirt, a Thiarna; ná maídís a mbua orm, a Dhia.

25 Let them not say in their hearts, So we will have it: let them not say, We have put an end to him.

No digan: ¡Hémoslo devorado!

26 Let all those who take pleasure in my troubles be shamed and come to nothing: let those who are lifted up against me be covered with shame and have no honour.

26 An dream lenarb áil mo dhochar, go raibh náire is míchlú orthu! Go gclúdaítear le heasonóir is le haithis lucht maíte i m'éadan.

27 Let those who are on my side give cries of joy; let them ever say, The Lord be praised, for he has pleasure in the peace of his servant.

27 Bíodh gliondar agus gairdeas ar lucht mo pháirte, agus abraidís gan sos: “Moladh leis an Tiarna lenarb áil sonas a sheirbhísigh!”

28 And my tongue will be talking of your righteousness and of your praise all the day.

28 Agus foilseoidh mo theanga d'fhíréantacht agus do mholadh ar feadh an lae.
