Job 33

1 And Elihu made answer and said,

1 Élihu reprit et dit:

1 Lean Eilíhiú air lena aitheasc agus dúirt:

1 ADEMAS respondió Eliú, y dijo:

1 Und es hob an Elihu und sprach:

2 Give ear, you wise, to my words; and you who have knowledge, give attention to me;

2 Sages, écoutez mes discours! Vous qui êtes intelligents, prêtez-moi l'oreille!

2 Éistigí lena bhfuil le rá agam, a shaoithe, Agus tugaigí cluas dom, a lucht an eolais.

2 Oid, sabios, mis palabras; Y vosotros, doctos, estadme atentos.

3 For words are tested by the ear, as food is tasted by the mouth.

3 Óir déanann an chluas briathra a phromhadh, Mar a dhéanann an carball bia a bhlas.

4 Let us make the decision for ourselves as to what is right; let us have the knowledge among ourselves of what is good.

4 Faighimis amach dúinn féin cá bhfuil an ceart; Agus deimhnímis eadrainn féin céard is cóir.

4 Escojamos para nosotros el juicio, Conozcamos entre nosotros cuál sea lo bueno;

5 For Job has said, I am upright, and it is God who has taken away my right;

5 Job dit: Je suis innocent, Et Dieu me refuse justice;

5 Denn Hiob hat gesagt: "Ich bin gerecht, und Gott weigert mir mein Recht;

6 Though I am right, still I am in pain; my wound may not be made well, though I have done no wrong.

6 Tá breitheamh mo chúise i bhfaltanas liom, Is tinn é mo chréacht cé nach ndearna mé coir.”

7 What man is like Job, a man who freely makes sport of God,

7 An bhfuil a lán de leithéid Iób ann, A shlogann an sciolladh mar uisce?

8 And goes in the company of evil-doers, walking in the way of sinners?

9 For he has said, It is no profit to a man to take delight in God.

9 Mar nár dhúirt sé: “Saothar in aisce é Do dhuine a bheith ag iarraidh Dia a shásamh.”

10 Now then, you wise, take note; you men of knowledge, give ear to me. Let it be far from God to do evil, and from the Ruler of all to do wrong.

10 Éistigí dá bhrí sin liomsa, a lucht na heagna; Is fada ó Dhia an choirpeacht Agus an éagóir ón Uilechumhachtach.

10 Darum hört mir zu, ihr weisen Leute: Es sei ferne, daß Gott sollte gottlos handeln und der Allmächtige ungerecht;

11 For he gives to every man the reward of his work, and sees that he gets the fruit of his ways.

12 Truly, God does not do evil, and the Ruler of all is not a false judge.

12 Is léir nach ndéanfaidh Dia éagóir, Agus ní chlaonann an tUilechumhachtach an bhreith;

13 Who put the earth into his care, or made him responsible for the world?

13 Cé chuir an chruinne faoina chúram Agus an saol mór ina iontaoibh?

14 If he made his spirit come back to him, taking his breath into himself again,

14 Dá dtarraingeodh sé a spiorad ar ais chuige féin, Agus a anáil a bhailiú chuige féin,

15 All flesh would come to an end together, and man would go back to the dust.

15 Gheobhadh gach feoil bás, Agus d'fhillfeadh an duine ar an gcré.

16 If you are wise, take note of this; give ear to the voice of my words.

17 How may a hater of right be a ruler? and will you say that the upright Ruler of all is evil?

17 Un ennemi de la justice régnerait-il? Et condamneras-tu le juste, le puissant,

17 An mbeidh duine gur fuath leis an ceart i gceannas? An ndéanfaidh tú breitheamh na dtréan a dhaoradh?

18 He who says to a king, You are an evil-doer; and to rulers, You are sinners;

18 An té a thabharfadh “suarachán” ar a rí, Agus “coirpeach” ar thaoiseach,

19 Who has no respect for rulers, and who gives no more attention to those who have wealth than to the poor, for they are all the work of his hands.

20 Suddenly they come to an end, even in the middle of the night: the blow comes on the men of wealth, and they are gone, and the strong are taken away without the hand of man.

20 Faigheann siad bás i bprapadh na súl; Dá thábhachtaí iad, éagann siad i lár na hoíche, Ní [aon nath leis] tíoránach a chur ar an éadreoir;

21 For his eyes are on the ways of a man, and he sees all his steps.

21 Óir tá súil aige ar iompar an duine, Agus faireann gach coiscéim dá ngabhann.

22 There is no dark place, and no thick cloud, in which the workers of evil may take cover.

22 Níl dorchadas ná scáil bháis ann, Ina bhféadfadh lucht an oilc dul i bhfolach.

23 For he does not give man a fixed time to come before him to be judged.

23 Dieu n'a pas besoin d'observer longtemps, Pour qu'un homme entre en jugement avec lui;

23 Óir ní dhearna sé coinne d'aon duine Le dul i láthair Dé i mbreithiúnas.

24 He sends the strong to destruction without searching out their cause, and puts others in their place.

24 Il brise les grands sans information, Et il met d'autres à leur place;

24 Bascann sé cumhacht lucht an nirt gan fiosrú ina dtaobh, Agus cuireann dream eile ina n‑áit.

25 For he has knowledge of their works, overturning them in the night, so that they are crushed.

25 Car il connaît leurs oeuvres. Ils les renverse de nuit, et ils sont écrasés;

25 Tá fios a mbeart aige, Agus treascrann sé faon ar lár iad san oíche.

26 The evil-doers are broken by his wrath, he puts his hand on them with force before the eyes of all onlookers.

26 Buaileann sé iad de bharr a gcoirpeachta, Agus [déanann cimí díobh] os comhair an tsaoil.

27 Because they did not go after him, and took no note of his ways,

27 “D'iompaíodar óna sheirbhís,” a deir tú, “Agus níor thóg siad ceann dá bhealaí go léir,

27 Por cuanto así se apartaron de él, Y no consideraron todos sus caminos;

28 So that the cry of the poor might come up to him, and the prayer of those in need come to his ears.

28 I dtreo go dtáinig glao an duine bhoicht chun [Dé] Agus gur chuala sé glór an deibhleáin.

29 D'fhan sé socair gan aon duine a dhaoradh; Nuair a cheileann sé a aghaidh, cé ar féidir dó é a fheiceáil?” Ach bíonn trócaire aige ar náisiún agus ar dhaoine,

29 Y si él diere reposo, ¿quién inquietará? Si escondiere el rostro, ¿quién lo mirará? Esto sobre una nación, y lo mismo sobre un hombre;

30 Agus saorann sé fiú an t‑aindiaga ó ghreim na hainnise.

31 ...

31 Car a-t-il jamais dit à Dieu: J'ai été châtié, je ne pécherai plus;

32 Má pheacaigh mé, cuir in iúl dom é!

33 Sa chás sin ar chóir dó, dar leat, é a phionósú, Ós rud é go ndiúltaíonn tú dá bhreitheanna? Ón uair nach agamsa ach agatsa atá an rogha le déanamh, Abair céard atá ar eolas agat.

Weißt du nun was, so sage an.

34 Men of knowledge, and all wise men, hearing me, will say,

34 An mhuintir thuisceanach go léir, Agus na saoithe i measc mo lucht éisteachta, déarfaidh siad liom:

35 Job's words do not come from knowledge; they are not the fruit of wisdom.

35 “Briathra gan ghaois a labhraíonn Iób, Agus níl aon tuiscint ina chuid cainte.”

36 May Job be tested to the end, because his answers have been like those of evil men.

36 Ach déanfar Iób a phromhadh go ceann scríbe, Mar go bhfreagraíonn sé mar a dhéanfadh urchóidigh.

37 For in addition to his sin, he is uncontrolled in heart; before our eyes he makes sport of God, increasing his words against him.

37 Óir cuireann sé ceannairc mar bhreis lena pheaca, Ag [caitheamh amhrais faoin gcoir inár measc] Agus ag tabhairt masla ar mhasla do Dhia.

Job 35
