Job 25

1 Then Job made answer and said,

1 Job prit la parole et dit:

1 Ansin d'fhreagair Iób, agus dúirt:

1 Y RESPONDIO Job, y dijo:

1 Hiob antwortete und sprach:

2 How have you given help to him who has no power! how have you been the salvation of the arm which has no strength!

2 Nach breá an chabhair a thug tú don lag! Nach mór an fhuascailt a rinne tú ar an ngéag thláith!

3 How have you given teaching to him who has no wisdom, and fully made clear true knowledge!

3 Quels bons conseils tu donnes à celui qui manque d'intelligence! Quelle abondance de sagesse tu fais paraître!

3 Nach maith an chomhairle a thug tú don aineolach! Agus an misneach don lagmhisniúil.

4 To whom have your words been said? and whose spirit came out from you?

4 A qui s'adressent tes paroles? Et qui est-ce qui t'inspire?

4 Ach cé leis a ndearna tú do chomhráite? Agus cé leis an spiorad a tháinig uait?

5 The shades in the underworld are shaking; the waters and those living in them.

5 Devant Dieu les ombres tremblent Au-dessous des eaux et de leurs habitants;

5 Bíonn na Rafáím ar crith faoin talamh thíos, Bíonn eagla ar na huiscí agus ar a lucht áitribh.

6 The underworld is uncovered before him, and Destruction has no veil.

6 Tá Seól tarrnocht os a chomhair, Agus Abadón gan bhrat.

7 By his hand the north is stretched out in space, and the earth is hanging on nothing.

7 Eisean a leath an Roinn Thuaidh thar an bhfolús Agus a chroch an chruinne ar neamhní.

8 By him the waters are shut up in his thick clouds, and the cloud does not give way under them.

9 By him the face of his high seat is veiled, and his cloud stretched out over it.

9 Chlúdaigh sé aghaidh na [lánré], Agus leath sé a néal thairsti.

10 By him a circle is marked out on the face of the waters, to the limits of the light and the dark.

10 Chuir sé fáinne thart ar dhromchla na n‑uiscí, Ag an teorainn idir solas agus dorchadas.

11 The pillars of heaven are shaking, and are overcome by his sharp words.

11 Tagann creathán ar cholúin na spéire, Agus uafás, nuair a chloiseann siad é ag bagairt.

12 By his power the sea was made quiet; and by his wisdom Rahab was wounded.

12 Chiúnaigh sé an fharraige lena chumhacht, Agus threascair sé Ráhab lena éirim.

13 By his wind the heavens become bright: by his hand the quickly moving snake was cut through.

13 Shoilsigh a anáil na spéartha, Agus ghoin a lámh an nathair ar teitheadh.

14 See, these are only the outskirts of his ways; and how small is that which comes to our ears about him! But the thunder of his acts of power is outside all knowledge.

14 Ach féach! níl sa mhéid sin go léir ach imill a bhealaí! Ní chloisimid uaidh ach macalla cogair! Cé a thuigfeadh toirneach a chumhachta?
