1 Now on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, when the time came for the king's order to be put into effect, on the very day when the haters of the Jews had been hoping to have rule over them; though the opposite had come about, and the Jews had rule over their haters;
1 Au douzième mois, qui est le mois d'Adar, le treizième jour du mois, jour où devaient s'exécuter l'ordre et l'édit du roi, et où les ennemis des Juifs avaient espéré dominer sur eux, ce fut le contraire qui arriva, et les Juifs dominèrent sur leurs ennemis.
1 Tháinig ordú agus reacht an rí i bhfeidhm ar an tríú lá déag den dara mí déag, mí Adár, agus an lá ar a raibh súil ag naimhde na nGiúdach le hiad a scriosadh, bhí a mhalairt de thoradh air; b'iad na Giúdaigh a scrios a naimhde.
1 Y EN el mes duodécimo y que es el mes de Adar, á trece del mismo, en el que tocaba se ejecutase el mandamiento del rey y su ley, el mismo día en que esperaban los enemigos de los Judíos enseñorearse de ellos, fué lo contrario; porque los Judíos se enseñorearon de los que los aborrecían.
1 Im zwölften Monat, das ist der Monat Adar, am dreizehnten Tag, den des Königs Wort und Gebot bestimmt hatte, daß man's tun sollte, ebendesselben Tages, da die Feinde der Juden hofften, sie zu überwältigen, wandte sich's, daß die Juden ihre Feinde überwältigen sollten.
2 On that day, the Jews came together in their towns through all the divisions of the kingdom of Ahasuerus, for the purpose of attacking all those who were attempting evil against them: and everyone had to give way before them, for the fear of them had come on all the peoples.
2 Les Juifs se rassemblèrent dans leurs villes, dans toutes les provinces du roi Assuérus, pour mettre la main sur ceux qui cherchaient leur perte; et personne ne put leur résister, car la crainte qu'on avait d'eux s'était emparée de tous les peuples.
2 Chruinnigh na Giúdaigh le chéile ina mbailte ar fud cúigí uile an rí Aisiuéaróis d'fhonn lámh a leagan ar an uile dhuine a bhí ar tí urchóid a dhéanamh dóibh, agus níor fhéad aon duine an fód a sheasamh in n‑aghaidh mar bhí scéin ar an bpobal go léir rompu.
2 Los Judíos se juntaron en sus ciudades en todas las provincias del rey Assuero, para meter mano sobre los que habían procurado su mal: y nadie se puso delante de ellos, porque el temor de ellos había caído sobre todos los pueblos.
2 Da versammelten sich die Juden in ihren Städten in allen Landen des Königs Ahasveros, daß sie die Hand legten an die, so ihnen übel wollten. Und niemand konnte ihnen widerstehen; denn ihre Furcht war über alle Völker gekommen.
3 And all the chiefs and the captains and the rulers and those who did the king's business gave support to the Jews; because the fear of Mordecai had come on them.
3 Et tous les chefs des provinces, les satrapes, les gouverneurs, les fonctionnaires du roi, soutinrent les Juifs, à cause de l'effroi que leur inspirait Mardochée.
3 Thug lucht ceannais na gcúigí, na satraipí, na gobharnóirí, agus na feidhmeannaigh ríoga lámh chúnta do na Giúdaigh le heagla roimh Mhordacaí,
3 Y todos los príncipes de las provincias, y los virreyes, y capitanes, y oficiales del rey, ensalzaban á los Judíos; porque el temor de Mardochêo había caído sobre ellos.
3 Auch alle Obersten in den Landen und Fürsten und Landpfleger und Amtleute des Königs halfen den Juden; denn die Furcht vor Mardochai war über sie gekommen.
4 For Mordecai was great in the king's house, and word of him went out through every part of the kingdom: for the man Mordecai became greater and greater.
4 Car Mardochée était puissant dans la maison du roi, et sa renommée se répandait dans toutes les provinces, parce qu'il devenait de plus en plus puissant.
4 mar ba chumhachtach é Mordacaí i dteaghlach an rí agus bhí a cháil leata ar fud na gcúigí go léir; bhí cumhacht Mhordacaí ag borradh agus ag fás i gcónaí.
4 Porque Mardochêo era grande en la casa del rey, y su fama iba por todas las provincias; pues el varón Mardochêo iba engrandeciéndose.
4 Denn Mardochai war groß im Hause des Königs, und sein Gerücht erscholl in allen Ländern, wie er zunähme und groß würde.
5 So the Jews overcame all their attackers with the sword and with death and destruction, and did to their haters whatever they had a desire to do.
5 Les Juifs frappèrent à coups d'épée tous leurs ennemis, ils les tuèrent et les firent périr; ils traitèrent comme il leur plut ceux qui leur étaient hostiles.
5 D'imir na Giúdaigh faobhar claímh ar a naimhde go léir, á scriosadh agus á marú, agus rinne siad a rogha rud leis an muintir a thug fuath dóibh.
5 E hirieron los Judíos á todos sus enemigos con plaga de espada, y de mortandad, y de perdición; é hicieron en sus enemigos á su voluntad.
5 Also schlugen die Juden an allen ihren Feinden eine Schwertschlacht und würgten und raubten und brachten um und taten nach ihrem Willen an denen, die ihnen feind waren.
6 And in Shushan the Jews put to death five hundred men.
6 Dans Suse, la capitale, les Juifs tuèrent et firent périr cinq cents hommes,
6 I ndúnfort Shúsa féin chuir na Giúdaigh cúig céad fear chun báis,
6 Y en Susán capital del reino, mataron y destruyeron los Judíos á quinientos hombres.

10 The ten sons of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the hater of the Jews; but they put not a hand on any of their goods.
10 les dix fils d'Haman, fils d'Hammedatha, l'ennemi des Juifs. Mais ils ne mirent pas la main au pillage.
10 deichniúr mac Hámán mac Hamadátá, namhaid na nGiúdach; ach creach níor ghabhadar.
10 Diez hijos de Amán hijo de Amadatha, enemigo de los Judíos: mas en la presa no metieron su mano.
10 die zehn Söhne Hamans, des Sohne Hammedathas, des Judenfeindes. Aber an die Güter legten sie ihre Hände nicht.
11 On that day the number of those who had been put to death in the town of Shushan was given to the king.
11 Ce jour-là, le nombre de ceux qui avaient été tués dans Suse, la capitale, parvint à la connaissance du roi.
11 Cuireadh an líon a maraíodh i ndúnfort Shúsa in iúl don rí an lá céanna.
11 El mismo día vino la cuenta de los muertos en Susán residencia regia, delante del rey.
11 Zu derselben Zeit kam die Zahl der Erwürgten zu Schloß Susan vor den König.
12 And the king said to Esther the queen, The Jews have put five hundred men to death in Shushan, as well as the ten sons of Haman: what then have they done in the rest of the kingdom! Now what is your prayer? for it will be given to you; what other request have you? and it will be done.
12 Et le roi dit à la reine Esther: Les Juifs ont tué et fait périr dans Suse, la capitale, cinq cents hommes et les dix fils d'Haman; qu'auront-ils fait dans le reste des provinces du roi? Quelle est ta demande? Elle te sera accordée. Que désires-tu encore? Tu l'obtiendras.
12 Agus dúirt an rí leis an mbanríon Eistir: “Mharaigh na Giúdaigh cúig céad fear agus deichniúr mac Hámán chomh maith i ndúnfort Shúsa. Cad é nach bhfuil déanta acu dá réir sin i gcúigí eile an rí! Cén t‑iarratas atá agat anois? Tabharfaidh mé duit é. Cén achainí eile atá agat? Níl agat ach é a rá agus gheobhaidh tú é.”
12 Y dijo el rey á la reina Esther: En Susán, capital del reino, han muerto los Judíos y destruído quinientos hombres, y á diez hijos de Amán; ¿qué habrán hecho en las otras provincias del rey? ¿Cuál pues es tu petición, y te será concedida? ¿ó qué más es tu demanda, y será hecho?
12 Und der König sprach zu der Königin Esther: Die Juden haben zu Schloß Susan fünfhundert Mann erwürgt und umgebracht und die zehn Söhne Hamans; was werden sie tun in den andern Ländern des Königs? was bittest du, daß man dir gebe? und was forderst du mehr, daß man tue?
13 Then Esther said, If it is the king's pleasure, let authority be given to the Jews in Shushan to do tomorrow as has been done today, and let orders be given for the hanging of Haman's ten sons.
13 Esther répondit: Si le roi le trouve bon, qu'il soit permis aux Juifs qui sont à Suse d'agir encore demain selon le décret d'aujourd'hui, et que l'on pende au bois les dix fils d'Haman.
13 Agus dúirt Eistir: “Más toil leis an rí é, bíodh sé de chead ag na Giúdaigh i Súsa déanamh de réir reacht an lae inniu amárach chomh maith. Agus crochtar deichniúr mac Hámán ar an gcroch.”
13 Y respondió Esther: Si place al rey, concedase también mañana á los Judíos en Susán, que hagan conforme á la ley de hoy; y que cuelguen en la horca á los diez hijos de Amán.
13 Esther sprach: Gefällt's dem König, so lasse er auch morgen die Juden tun nach dem heutigen Gebot, und die zehn Söhne Hamans soll man an den Baum hängen.
14 And the king said that this was to be done, and the order was given out in Shushan, and the hanging of Haman's ten sons was effected.
14 Et le roi ordonna de faire ainsi. L'édit fut publié dans Suse. On pendit les dix fils d'Haman;
14 D'ordaigh an rí go ndéanfaí amhlaidh agus eisíodh an reacht i Súsa, agus crochadh deichniúr mac Hámán.
14 Y mandó el rey que se hiciese así: y dióse la orden en Susán, y colgaron á los diez hijos de Amán.
14 Und der König hieß also tun. Und das Gebot ward zu Susan angeschlagen, und die zehn Söhne Haman wurden gehängt.
15 For the Jews who were in Shushan came together again on the fourteenth day of the month Adar and put to death three hundred men in Shushan; but they put not a hand on their goods.
15 et les Juifs qui se trouvaient à Suse se rassemblèrent de nouveau le quatorzième jour du mois d'Adar et tuèrent dans Suse trois cents hommes. Mais ils ne mirent pas la main au pillage.
15 Chruinnigh na Giúdaigh i Súsa le chéile ar an gceathrú lá déag de mhí Adár agus bhásaigh siad trí chéad fear i Súsa, ach gan lámh a leagan ar an gcreach.
15 Y los Judíos que estaban en Susán, se juntaron también el catorce del mes de Adar, y mataron en Susán trescientos hombres: mas en la presa no metieron su mano.
15 Und die Juden zu Susan versammelten sich auch am vierzehnten Tage des Monats Adar und erwürgten zu Susan dreihundert Mann; aber an ihre Güter legten sie ihre Hände nicht.
16 And the other Jews in every division of the kingdom came together, fighting for their lives, and got salvation from their haters and put seventy-five thousand of them to death; but they did not put a hand on their goods.
16 Les autres Juifs qui étaient dans les provinces du roi se rassemblèrent et défendirent leur vie; ils se procurèrent du repos en se délivrant de leurs ennemis, et ils tuèrent soixante-quinze mille de ceux qui leur étaient hostiles. Mais ils ne mirent pas la main au pillage.
16 Chruinnigh na Giúdaigh eile a bhí ag cur fúthu i gcúigí an rí lena n‑anam a chosaint agus fáil réidh lena naimhde. Chuireadar seachtó cúig míle dá n‑eascairde chun báis, ach níor leag siad lámh ar an gcreach.
16 En cuanto á los otros Judíos que estaban en las provincias del rey, también se juntaron y pusiéronse en defensa de su vida, y tuvieron reposo de sus enemigos, y mataron de sus contrarios setenta y cinco mil; mas en la presa no metieron su mano.
16 Aber die andern Juden in den Ländern des Königs kamen zusammen und standen für ihr Leben, daß sie Ruhe schafften vor ihren Feinden, und erwürgten ihrer Feinde fünfundsiebzigtausend; aber an ihre Güter legten sie ihre Hände nicht.
17 This they did on the thirteenth day of the month Adar; and on the fourteenth day of the same month they took their rest, and made it a day of feasting and joy.
17 Ces choses arrivèrent le treizième jour du mois d'Adar. Les Juifs se reposèrent le quatorzième, et ils en firent un jour de festin et de joie.
17 Ba é sin an tríú lá déag de mhí Adár, agus cheapadar a suaimhneas ar an gceathrú lá déag agus rinne siad lá fleá agus aoibhnis de.
17 En el día trece del mes de Adar fué esto; y reposaron en el día catorce del mismo, é hiciéronlo día de banquete y de alegría.
17 Das geschah am dreizehnten Tage des Monats Adar, und sie ruhten am vierzehnten Tage desselben Monats; den machte man zum Tage des Wohllebens und der Freude.
18 But the Jews in Shushan came together on the thirteenth and on the fourteenth day of the month; and on the fifteenth day they took their rest, and made it a day of feasting and joy.
18 Ceux qui se trouvaient à Suse, s'étant rassemblés le treizième jour et le quatorzième jour, se reposèrent le quinzième, et ils en firent un jour de festin et de joie.
18 Ach na Giúdaigh a bhí i Súsa, chruinníodar le chéile ar an tríú lá déag agus ar an gceathrú lá déag agus ba ar an gcúigiú lá déag a scoireadar agus a bhí lá fleá agus aoibhnis acu.
18 Mas los Judíos que estaban en Susán se juntaron en el trece y en el catorce del mismo mes; y al quince del mismo reposaron, é hicieron aquel día día de banquete y de regocijo.
18 Aber die Juden zu Susan waren zusammengekommen am dreizehnten und am vierzehnten Tage und ruhten am fünfzehnten Tag; und den Tag machte man zum Tage des Wohllebens und der Freude.
19 So the Jews of the country places living in unwalled towns make the fourteenth day of the month Adar a day of feasting and joy and a good day, a day for sending offerings one to another.
19 C'est pourquoi les Juifs de la campagne, qui habitent des villes sans murailles, font du quatorzième jour du mois d'Adar un jour de joie, de festin et de fête, où l'on s'envoie des portions les uns aux autres.

19 Por tanto los Judíos aldeanos que habitan en las villas sin muro, hacen á los catorce del mes de Adar el día de alegría y de banquete, y buen día, y de enviar porciones cada uno á su vecino.
19 Darum machten die Juden, die auf den Dörfern und Flecken wohnten, den vierzehnten Tag des Monats Adar zum Tag des Wohllebens und der Freude, und sandte einer dem andern Geschenke.
20 And Mordecai sent letters to all the Jews in every division of the kingdom of Ahasuerus, near and far,
20 Mardochée écrivit ces choses, et il envoya des lettres à tous les Juifs qui étaient dans toutes les provinces du roi Assuérus, auprès et au loin.
20 Chuir Mordacaí na nithe sin go léir ar phár agus sheol sé litreacha chuig na Giúdaigh go léir i gcúigí uile an rí Aisiuéaróis, i gcéin agus i gcóngar,
20 Y escribió Mardochêo estas cosas, y envió letras á todos los Judíos que estaban en todas las provincias del rey Assuero, cercanos y distantes,
20 Und Mardochai schrieb diese Geschichten auf und sandte Briefe an alle Juden, die in den Landen des Königs Ahasveros waren, nahen und fernen,
21 Ordering them to keep the fourteenth day of the month Adar and the fifteenth day of the same month, every year,
21 Il leur prescrivait de célébrer chaque année le quatorzième jour et le quinzième jour du mois d'Adar
21 á ordú dóibh an ceathrú lá déag agus an cúigiú lá déag de mhí Adár a cheiliúradh mar fhéile ó bhliain go bliain,
21 Ordenándoles que celebrasen el día décimocuarto del mes de Adar, y el décimoquinto del mismo, cada un año.
21 daß sie annähmen und hielten den vierzehnten und fünfzehnten Tag des Monats Adar jährlich,
22 As days on which the Jews had rest from their haters, and the month which for them was turned from sorrow to joy, and from weeping to a good day: and that they were to keep them as days of feasting and joy, of sending offerings to one another and good things to the poor.
22 comme les jours où ils avaient obtenu du repos en se délivrant de leurs ennemis, de célébrer le mois où leur tristesse avait été changée en joie et leur désolation en jour de fête, et de faire de ces jours des jours de festin et de joie où l'on s'envoie des portions les uns aux autres et où l'on distribue des dons aux indigents.

22 Como días en que los Judíos tuvieron reposo de sus enemigos, y el mes que se les tornó de tristeza en alegría, y de luto en día bueno; que los hiciesen días de banquete y de gozo, y de enviar porciones cada uno á su vecino, y dádivas á los pobres.
22 nach den Tagen, darin die Juden zur Ruhe gekommen waren von ihren Feinden und nach dem Monat, darin ihre Schmerzen in Freude und ihr Leid in gute Tage verkehrt war; daß sie dieselben halten sollten als Tage des Wohllebens und der Freude und einer dem andern Geschenke schicken und den Armen mitteilen.
23 And the Jews gave their word to go on as they had been doing and as Mordecai had given them orders in writing;
23 Les Juifs s'engagèrent à faire ce qu'ils avaient déjà commencé et ce que Mardochée leur écrivit.
23 Bhí tús curtha ag na Giúdaigh leis na cleachtaithe sin, agus anois ghealladar go leanfaidís leo, faoi mar a scríobh Mordacaí chucu ina dtaobh:
23 Y los Judíos aceptaron hacer, según habían comenzado, lo que les escribió Mardochêo.

24 Because Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the hater of all the Jews, had made designs for their destruction, attempting to get a decision by Pur (that is, chance) with a view to putting an end to them and cutting them off;
24 Car Haman, fils d'Hammedatha, l'Agaguite, ennemi de tous les Juifs, avait formé le projet de les faire périr, et il avait jeté le pur, c'est-à-dire le sort, afin de les tuer et de les détruire;
24 “Rinne Hámán an tAgágach, mac Hamadátá, namhaid na nGiúdach go léir, ceilg ina n‑aghaidh lena scriosadh, agus chaith sé an púr, an crann is é sin, chun a scriosta agus a millte.
24 Porque Amán hijo de Amadatha, Agageo, enemigo de todos los Judíos, había ideado contra los Judíos para destruirlos, y echó Pur, que quiere decir suerte, para consumirlos y acabar con ellos.
24 wie Haman, der Sohn Hammedathas, der Agagiter, aller Juden Feind, gedacht hatte, alle Juden umzubringen, und das Pur, das ist das Los, werfen lassen, sie zu erschrecken und umzubringen;
25 But when the business was put before the king, he gave orders by letters that the evil design which he had made against the Jews was to be turned against himself; and that he and his sons were to be put to death by hanging.
25 mais Esther s'étant présentée devant le roi, le roi ordonna par écrit de faire retomber sur la tête d'Haman le méchant projet qu'il avait formé contre les Juifs, et de le pendre au bois, lui et ses fils.
25 Ach nuair a tháinig Eistir i láthair an rí, thug seisean ordú i scríbhinn go bhfillfeadh an scéim dhanartha a bhí beartaithe aige in aghaidh na nGiúdach sa mhullach air féin, agus go gcrochfaí ar an gcroch é féin agus a chlann mhac.
25 Mas como Esther vino á la presencia del rey, él intimó por carta: El perverso designio que aquél trazó contra los Judíos, recaiga sobre su cabeza; y cuélguenlo á él y á sus hijos en la horca.
25 und wie Esther zum König gegangen war und derselbe durch Briefe geboten hatte, daß seine bösen Anschläge, die er wider die Juden gedacht, auf seinen Kopf gekehrt würden; und wie man ihn und seine Söhne an den Baum gehängt hatte.
26 So these days were named Purim, after the name of Pur. And so, because of the words of this letter, and of what they had seen in connection with this business, and what had come to them,
26 C'est pourquoi on appela ces jours Purim, du nom de pur. D'après tout le contenu de cette lettre, d'après ce qu'ils avaient eux-mêmes vu et ce qui leur était arrivé,

26 Por esto llamaron á estos días Purim, del nombre Pur. Por todas las palabras pues de esta carta, y por lo que ellos vieron sobre esto, y lo que llegó á su noticia,
26 Daher sie diese Tage Purim nannten nach dem Namen des Loses. Und nach allen Worten dieses Briefes und dem, was sie selbst gesehen hatten und was an sie gelangt war,
27 The Jews made a rule and gave an undertaking, causing their seed and all those who were joined to them to do the same, so that it might be in force for ever, that they would keep those two days, as ordered in the letter, at the fixed time every year;
27 les Juifs prirent pour eux, pour leur postérité, et pour tous ceux qui s'attacheraient à eux, la résolution et l'engagement irrévocables de célébrer chaque année ces deux jours, selon le mode prescrit et au temps fixé.
27 dhearbhaigh na Giúdaigh agus ghabhadar orthu agus ar a sliocht, agus ar chách a ghabh leo, an dá lá sin a cheiliúradh gan teip gach bliain de réir mar a bhí scríofa agus ag an am a bhí ceaptha;
27 Establecieron y tomaron los Judíos sobre sí, y sobre su simiente, y sobre todos los allegados á ellos, y no será traspasado, el celebrar estos dos días según está escrito en orden á ellos, y conforme á su tiempo cada un año;
27 richteten die Juden es auf und nahmen's auf sich und auf ihre Nachkommen und auf alle, die sich zu ihnen taten, daß sie nicht unterlassen wollten, zu halten diese zwei Tage jährlich, wie die vorgeschrieben und bestimmt waren;
28 And that those days were to be kept in memory through every generation and every family, in every division of the kingdom and every town, that there might never be a time when these days of Purim would not be kept among the Jews, or when the memory of them would go from the minds of their seed.
28 Ces jours devaient être rappelés et célébrés de génération en génération, dans chaque famille, dans chaque province et dans chaque ville; et ces jours de Purim ne devaient jamais être abolis au milieu des Juifs, ni le souvenir s'en effacer parmi leurs descendants.
28 agus go gcoimeádfaí cuimhne ar na laethanta sin agus go ndéanfaí iad a chomóradh ó ghlúin go glúin i ngach teaghlach agus cúige agus cathair; agus nach ndéanfaí faillí ar laethanta sin Phúirím go brách i measc na nGiúdach, agus nach rachadh bá ar a gcuimhne i measc a sleachta.
