1 Now when Mordecai saw what was done, pulling off his robe, he put on haircloth, with dust on his head, and went out into the middle of the town, crying out with a loud and bitter cry.
1 Mardochée, ayant appris tout ce qui se passait, déchira ses vêtements, s'enveloppa d'un sac et se couvrit de cendre. Puis il alla au milieu de la ville en poussant avec force des cris amers,
1 Nuair a fuair Mordacaí fios na nithe sin, stróic sé a chuid éadaigh, agus chuir sacéadach agus luaithreach air féin. Ansin d'imigh sé amach trí lár na cathrach ag gol go géar in ard a ghutha,
1 LUEGO que supo Mardochêo todo lo que se había hecho, rasgó sus vestidos, y vistióse de saco y de ceniza, y fuése por medio de la ciudad clamando con grande y amargo clamor.
1 Da Mardochai erfuhr alles, was geschehen war, zerriß er seine Kleider und legte einen Sack an und Asche und ging hinaus mitten in die Stadt und schrie laut und kläglich.
2 And he came even before the king's doorway; for no one might come inside the king's door clothed in haircloth.
2 et se rendit jusqu'à la porte du roi, dont l'entrée était interdite à toute personne revêtue d'un sac.
2 nó go dtáinig sé go geata an rí; níor chead d'aon duine dul geata an rí isteach agus sacéadach air.
2 Y vino hasta delante de la puerta del rey: porque no era lícito pasar adentro de la puerta del rey con vestido de saco.
2 Und kam bis vor das Tor des Königs; denn es durfte niemand zu des Königs Tor eingehen, der einen Sack anhatte.
3 And in every part of the kingdom, wherever the king's word and his order came, there was great sorrow among the Jews, and weeping and crying and going without food; and numbers of them were stretched on the earth covered with dust and haircloth.
3 Dans chaque province, partout où arrivaient l'ordre du roi et son édit, il y eut une grande désolation parmi les Juifs; ils jeûnaient, pleuraient et se lamentaient, et beaucoup se couchaient sur le sac et la cendre.
3 A luaithe a foilsíodh forógra an rí in aon chúige, bhí olagón i measc na nGiúdach, agus troscadh, lógóireacht agus caoineadh, agus luigh mórán daoine i sacéadach agus i luaithreach.
3 Y en cada provincia y lugar donde el mandamiento del rey y su decreto llegaba, tenían los Judíos grande luto, y ayuno, y lloro, y lamentación: saco y ceniza era la cama de muchos.
3 Und in allen Ländern, an welchen Ort des Königs Wort und Gebot gelangte, war ein großes Klagen unter den Juden, und viele fasteten, weinten trugen Leid und lagen in Säcken und in der Asche.
4 And Esther's women and her servants came and gave her word of it. Then great was the grief of the queen: and she sent robes for Mordecai, so that his clothing of haircloth might be taken off; but he would not have them.
4 Les servantes d'Esther et ses eunuques vinrent lui annoncer cela, et la reine fut très effrayée. Elle envoya des vêtements à Mardochée pour le couvrir et lui faire ôter son sac, mais il ne les accepta pas.
4 Nuair a tháinig a bantracht agus a coillteáin leis an scéala go dtí an bhanríon Eistir, tháinig an-bhuaireamh uirthi; chuir sí éadaí go Mordacaí le cur air in áit an tsacéadaigh, ach dhiúltaigh sé dóibh.
4 Y vinieron las doncellas de Esther y sus eunucos, y dijéronselo: y la reina tuvo gran dolor, y envió vestidos para hacer vestir á Mardochêo, y hacerle quitar el saco de sobre él; mas él no los recibió.
4 Da kamen die Dirnen Esthers und ihre Kämmerer und sagten's ihr an. Da erschrak die Königin sehr. Und sie sandte Kleider, daß Mardochai sie anzöge und den Sack von sich legte; aber er nahm sie nicht.
5 Then Esther sent for Hathach, one of the king's unsexed servants whom he had given her for waiting on her, and she gave him orders to go to Mordecai and see what this was and why it was.
5 Alors Esther appela Hathac, l'un des eunuques que le roi avait placés auprès d'elle, et elle le chargea d'aller demander à Mardochée ce que c'était et d'où cela venait.
5 Ansin chuir Eistir fios ar Hatác, coillteán a cheap an rí le freastal uirthi, agus d'ordaigh sí dó dul go Mordacaí agus fios fátha an scéil a fháil uaidh.
5 Entonces Esther llamó á Atach, uno de los eunucos del rey, que él había hecho estar delante de ella, y mandólo á Mardochêo, con orden de saber qué era aquello, y por qué.
5 Da rief Esther Hathach unter des Königs Kämmerern, der vor ihr stand, und gab ihm Befehl an Mardochai, daß sie erführe, was das wäre und warum er so täte.
6 So Hathach went out and saw Mordecai in the open square of the town before the king's doorway.
6 Hathac se rendit vers Mardochée sur la place de la ville, devant la porte du roi.
6 Chuaigh Hatác ag triall ar Mhordacaí dá bhrí sin agus fuair sé ar fhaiche na cathrach é os comhair gheata an rí.
6 Salió pues Atach á Mardochêo, á la plaza de la ciudad que estaba delante de la puerta del rey.
6 Da ging Hathach hinaus zu Mardochai in die Gasse der Stadt, die vor dem Tor des Königs war.
7 And Mordecai gave him an account of what had taken place, and of the amount of money which Haman had said he would put into the king's store for the destruction of the Jews.
7 Et Mardochée lui raconta tout ce qui lui était arrivé, et lui indiqua la somme d'argent qu'Haman avait promis de livrer au trésor du roi en retour du massacre des Juifs.
7 D'inis Mordacaí dó gach ar tharla, agus mar a thug Hámán gealltanas suim mhór airgid a íoc le ciste an rí ar son na Giúdaigh a dhíothú.
7 Y Mardochêo le declaró todo lo que le había acontecido, y dióle noticia de la plata que Amán había dicho que pesaría para los tesoros del rey por razón de los Judíos, para destruirlos.
7 Und Mardochai sagte ihm alles, was ihm begegnet wäre, und die Summe des Silbers, das Haman versprochen hatte in des Königs Kammer darzuwägen um der Juden willen, sie zu vertilgen,
8 And he gave him the copy of the order which had been given out in Shushan for their destruction, ordering him to let Esther see it, and to make it clear to her; and to say to her that she was to go in to the king, requesting his mercy, and making prayer for her people.
8 Il lui donna aussi une copie de l'édit publié dans Suse en vue de leur destruction, afin qu'il le montrât à Esther et lui fît tout connaître; et il ordonna qu'Esther se rendît chez le roi pour lui demander grâce et l'implorer en faveur de son peuple.
8 Thug sé dó mar an gcéanna cóip den fhorógra, a foilsíodh i Súsa ag fógairt a scriosta, lena taispeáint d'Eistir á cur san eolas: agus chuir sé teachtaireacht chuici dul go dtí an rí chun achainí a dhéanamh chuige agus cúis a cine a phlé. “Cuimhnigh,” ar sé léi, “ar d'uirísle tráth, nuair d'ith tú as mo láimh féin. Ós rud é gur iarr Hámán, an té is tánaiste don rí, go gcuirfí chun báis sinn, glaoigh ar an Tiarna agus labhair leis an rí ar ár son agus fuascail ón mbás sinn.”
8 Dióle también la copia de la escritura del decreto que había sido dado en Susán para que fuesen destruídos, á fin de que la mostrara á Esther y se lo declarase, y le encargara que fuese al rey á suplicarle, y á pedir delante de él por su pueblo.
8 und gab ihm die Abschrift des Gebots, das zu Susan angeschlagen war, sie zu vertilgen, daß er's Esther zeigte und ihr ansagte und geböte ihr, daß sie zum König hineinginge und flehte zu ihm und täte eine Bitte an ihn um ihr Volk.
9 And Hathach came back and gave Esther an account of what Mordecai had said.
9 Hathac vint rapporter à Esther les paroles de Mardochée.
9 D'fhill Hatác, agus d'inis d'Eistir céard a dúirt Mordacaí.
9 Y vino Atach, y contó á Esther las palabra de Mardochêo.
9 Und da Hathach hineinkam und sagte Esther die Worte Mardochais,
10 Then Esther sent Hathach to say to Mordecai:
10 Esther chargea Hathac d'aller dire à Mardochée:
10 Ansin labhair Eistir le Hatác arís agus thug sí an teachtaireacht seo leanas dó le haghaidh Mhordacaí:
10 Entonces Esther dijo á Atach, y mandóle decir á Mardochêo:
10 sprach Esther zu Hathach und gebot ihm an Mardochai:
11 It is common knowledge among all the king's servants and the people of every part of the kingdom, that if anyone, man or woman, comes to the king in his inner room without being sent for, there is only one law for him, that he is to be put to death; only those to whom the king's rod of gold is stretched out may keep their lives: but I have not been sent for to come before the king these thirty days.
11 Tous les serviteurs du roi et le peuple des provinces du roi savent qu'il existe une loi portant peine de mort contre quiconque, homme ou femme, entre chez le roi, dans la cour intérieure, sans avoir été appelé; celui-là seul a la vie sauve, à qui le roi tend le sceptre d'or. Et moi, je n'ai point été appelée auprès du roi depuis trente jours.
11 “Is eol do sheirbhísigh uile an rí, agus do mhuintir na gcúigí, má théann aon duine, fear nó bean, isteach go dtí an rí ina chúirt inmheánach, gan fios a bheith curtha air, nach bhfuil ann dó ach an t-aon phionós amháin - an bás, mura ndéanann an rí an tslat óir a shíneadh ina threo agus anacal anama a dhéanamh air. Agus níor cuireadh fios orm teacht i láthair an rí le deich lá fichead anois.”
11 Todos los siervos del rey, y el pueblo de las provincias del rey saben, que cualquier hombre ó mujer que entra al rey al patio de adentro sin ser llamado, por una sola ley ha de morir: salvo aquel á quien el rey extendiere el cetro de oro, el cual vivirá: y yo no he sido llamada para entrar al rey estos treinta días.
11 Es wissen alle Knechte des Königs und das Volk in den Landen des Königs, daß, wer zum König hineingeht inwendig in den Hof, er sei Mann oder Weib, der nicht gerufen ist, der soll stracks nach dem Gebot sterben; es sei denn, daß der König das goldene Zepter gegen ihn recke, damit er lebendig bleibe. Ich aber bin nun in dreißig Tagen nicht gerufen, zum König hineinzukommen.
12 And they said these words to Mordecai.
12 Lorsque les paroles d'Esther eurent été rapportées à Mardochée,

12 Y dijeron á Mardochêo las palabras de Esther.
12 Und da die Worte Esthers wurden Mardochai angesagt,
13 Then Mordecai sent this answer back to Esther: Do not have the idea that you in the king's house will be safe from the fate of all the Jews.
13 Mardochée fit répondre à Esther: Ne t'imagine pas que tu échapperas seule d'entre tous les Juifs, parce que tu es dans la maison du roi;
13 agus d'ordaigh Mordacaí an freagra seo a thabhairt ar ais chuici: “Ná bíodh aon phioc dá mhearbhall ort go rachaidh tú slán ach chomh beag le haon Ghiúdach eile cé go bhfuil tú i bpálás an rí.
13 Entonces dijo Mardochêo que respondiesen á Esther: No pienses en tu alma, que escaparás en la casa del rey más que todos los Judíos:
13 hieß Mardochai Esther wieder sagen: Gedenke nicht, daß du dein Leben errettest, weil du im Hause des Königs bist, vor allen Juden;
14 If at this time you say nothing, then help and salvation will come to the Jews from some other place, but you and your father's family will come to destruction: and who is to say that you have not come to the kingdom even for such a time as this?
14 car, si tu te tais maintenant, le secours et la délivrance surgiront d'autre part pour les Juifs, et toi et la maison de ton père vous périrez. Et qui sait si ce n'est pas pour un temps comme celui-ci que tu es parvenue à la royauté?
14 Má fhanann tú i do thost gan focal asat, ar uair seo na faille, gheobhaidh na Giúdaigh saoirse agus fuascailt ó aird éigin eile, agus déanfar tusa agus teaghlach d'athar a scriosadh. Agus cá bhfios nach d'aonghnó, dá leithéid seo d'fhaill, a tháinig tú i gcoróin?”
14 Porque si absolutamente callares en este tiempo, respiro y libertación tendrán los Judíos de otra parte; mas tú y la casa de tu padre pereceréis. ¿Y quién sabe si para esta hora te han hecho llegar al reino?
14 denn wo du wirst zu dieser Zeit schweigen, so wird eine Hilfe und Errettung von einem andern Ort her den Juden entstehen, und du und deines Vaters Haus werdet umkommen. Und wer weiß, ob du nicht um dieser Zeit willen zur königlichen Würde gekommen bist?
15 Then Esther sent them back to Mordecai with this answer:

15 Y Esther dijo que respondiesen á Mardochêo:
15 Esther hieß Mardochai antworten:
16 Go, get together all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and go without food for me, taking no food or drink night or day for three days: and I and my women will do the same; and so I will go in to the king, which is against the law: and if death is to be my fate, then let it come.
16 Va, rassemble tous les Juifs qui se trouvent à Suse, et jeûnez pour moi, sans manger ni boire pendant trois jours, ni la nuit ni le jour. Moi aussi, je jeûnerai de même avec mes servantes, puis j'entrerai chez le roi, malgré la loi; et si je dois périr, je périrai.
16 “Imighse anois agus cruinnigh na Giúdaigh go léir atá i Súsa, agus déanaigí troscadh ar mo shon, gan bia ná deoch a chaitheamh de lá ná d'oíche ar feadh trí lá. Agus déanfaidh mise troscadh mar an gcéanna le mo bhantracht, agus rachaidh mé isteach go dtí an rí ansin, bíodh go bhfuil sé in aghaidh an dlí, agus más é an bás atá i ndán dom, bás a gheobhaidh mé.”
16 Ve, y junta á todos los Judíos que se hallan en Susán, y ayunad por mí, y no comáis ni bebáis en tres días, noche ni día: yo también con mis doncellas ayunaré igualmente, y así entraré al rey, aunque no sea conforme á la ley; y si perezco, que perezca.
16 So gehe hin und versammle alle Juden, die zu Susan vorhanden sind, und fastet für mich, daß ihr nicht esset und trinket in drei Tagen, weder Tag noch Nacht; ich und meine Dirnen wollen auch also fasten. Und ich will zum König hineingehen wider das Gebot; komme ich um, so komme ich um.
17 So Mordecai went away and did everything as Esther had said.
17 Mardochée s'en alla, et fit tout ce qu'Esther lui avait ordonné.
