1 Now it came about in the days of Ahasuerus, (that Ahasuerus who was ruler of a hundred and twenty-seven divisions of the kingdom, from India as far as Ethiopia:)
1 C'était du temps d'Assuérus, de cet Assuérus qui régnait depuis l'Inde jusqu'en Éthiopie sur cent vingt-sept provinces;

2 That in those days, when King Ahasuerus was ruling in Shushan, his strong town,

3 In the third year of his rule he gave a feast to all his captains and his servants; and the captains of the army of Persia and Media, the great men and the rulers of the divisions of his kingdom, were present before him;
3 La troisième année de son règne, il fit un festin à tous ses princes et à ses serviteurs; les commandants de l'armée des Perses et des Mèdes, les grands et les chefs des provinces furent réunis en sa présence.
3 Duine ab ea é de na cimí a thug Nabúcadnazar rí na Bablóine leis ó Iarúsailéim mar aon le Iachóiniá rí Iúdáia.
3 En el tercer año de su reinado hizo banquete á todos sus príncipes y siervos, teniendo delante de él la fuerza de Persia y de Media, gobernadores y príncipes de provincias,
3 im dritten Jahr seines Königreichs, machte er bei sich ein Mahl allen seinen Fürsten und Knechten, den Gewaltigen in Persien und Medien, den Landpflegern und Obersten in seinen Ländern,
4 And for a long time, even a hundred and eighty days, he let them see all the wealth and the glory of his kingdom and the great power and honour which were his.
4 Il montra la splendide richesse de son royaume et l'éclatante magnificence de sa grandeur pendant nombre de jours, pendant cent quatre-vingts jours.
4 Seo é a thaibhreamh: Féach! Bhí glórtha agus clampar, toirneach agus creathanna talún agus callóid ar fud na cruinne.
4 Para mostrar él las riquezas de la gloria de su reino, y el lustre de la magnificencia de su poder, por muchos días, ciento y ochenta días.
4 daß er sehen ließe den herrlichen Reichtum seines Königreichs und die köstliche Pracht seiner Majestät viele Tage lang, hundert und achtzig Tage.
5 And at the end of that time, the king gave a feast for all the people who were present in Shushan, the king's town, small as well as great, for seven days, in the outer square of the garden of the king's house.
5 Lorsque ces jours furent écoulés, le roi fit pour tout le peuple qui se trouvait à Suse, la capitale, depuis le plus grand jusqu'au plus petit, un festin qui dura sept jours, dans la cour du jardin de la maison royale.
5 Agus féach! Tháinig dhá dhragún mhóra amach agus iad réidh chun catha a chur ar a chéile agus ba mhór í a mbúir.
5 Y cumplidos estos días, hizo el rey banquete por siete días en el patio del huerto del palacio real á todo el pueblo, desde el mayor hasta el menor que se halló en Susán capital del reino.
5 Und da die Tage aus waren, machte der König ein Mahl allem Volk, das zu Schloß Susan war, Großen und Kleinen, sieben Tage lang im Hofe des Gartens am Hause des Königs.
6 There were fair hangings of white and green and blue, fixed with cords of purple and the best linen to silver rings and pillars of polished stone: the seats were of gold and silver on a floor of red and white and yellow and black stone.
6 Des tentures blanches, vertes et bleues, étaient attachées par des cordons de byssus et de pourpre à des anneaux d'argent et à des colonnes de marbre. Des lits d'or et d'argent reposaient sur un pavé de porphyre, de marbre, de nacre et de pierres noires.
6 Nuair a chualathas a nglór réitigh gach cine iad féin chun cogadh agus cath a chur ar chine na bhfíréan.
6 El pabellón era de blanco, verde, y cárdeno, tendido sobre cuerdas de lino y púrpura en sortijas de plata y columnas de mármol: los reclinatorios de oro y de plata, sobre losado de pórfido y de mármol, y de alabastro y de jacinto.
6 Da hingen weiße, rote und blaue Tücher, mit leinenen und scharlachnen Seilen gefaßt, in silbernen Ringen auf Marmorsäulen. Die Bänke waren golden und silbern auf Pflaster von grünem, weißem, gelbem und schwarzen Marmor.
7 And they gave them drink in gold vessels, every vessel being different, and wine of the kingdom, freely given by the king.
7 On servait à boire dans des vases d'or, de différentes espèces, et il y avait abondance de vin royal, grâce à la libéralité du roi.
7 Agus b'shin é lá an dorchadais agus an dainséir, lá na hanacra agus na hanbhainne, nuair a bhí eagla agus suaitheadh ina luí ar an talamh.
7 Y daban á beber en vasos de oro, y vasos diferentes unos de otros, y mucho vino real, conforme á la facultad del rey.
7 Und das Getränk trug man in goldenen Gefäßen und immer andern und andern Gefäßen, und königlichen Wein die Menge, wie denn der König vermochte.
8 And the drinking was in keeping with the law; no one was forced: for the king had given orders to all the chief servants of his house to do as was pleasing to every man.
8 Mais on ne forçait personne à boire, car le roi avait ordonné à tous les gens de sa maison de se conformer à la volonté de chacun.
8 Tháinig buaireamh mór ar chine na bhfíréan go léir, le heagla roimh na hoilc a bhí ag bagairt orthu, agus bhí coinne acu leis an mbás; ansin ghlaoigh siad chun Dé.
8 Y la bebida fué según esta ley: Que nadie constriñese; porque así lo había mandado el rey á todos los mayordomos de su casa; que se hiciese según la voluntad de cada uno.
8 Und man setzte niemand, was er trinken sollte; denn der König hatte allen Vorstehern befohlen, daß ein jeglicher sollte tun, wie es ihm wohl gefiel.
9 And Vashti the queen gave a feast for the women in the house of King Ahasuerus.
9 La reine Vasthi fit aussi un festin pour les femmes dans la maison royale du roi Assuérus.
9 Agus as a nglao rinneadh mar a bheadh abhainn mhór, tulca uisce, as tobar beag.
9 Asimismo la reina Vasthi hizo banquete de mujeres, en la casa real del rey Assuero.
9 Und die Königin Vasthi machte auch ein Mahl für die Weiber im königlichen Hause des Königs Ahasveros.
10 On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was glad with wine, he gave orders to Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, and Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seven unsexed servants who were waiting before Ahasuerus the king,
10 Le septième jour, comme le coeur du roi était réjoui par le vin, il ordonna à Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, Abagtha, Zéthar et Carcas, les sept eunuques qui servaient devant le roi Assuérus,
10 D'éirigh an ghrian gona lánsoilse, agus ardaíodh lucht na huirísle agus shlog siad lucht na caithréime.
10 El séptimo día, estando el corazón del rey alegre del vino, mandó á Mehumán, y á Biztha, y á Harbona, y á Bighta, y á Abagtha, y á Zetar, y á Carcas, siete eunucos que servían delante del rey Assuero,
10 Und am siebenten Tage, da der König gutes Muts war vom Wein, hieß er Mehuman, Bistha, Harbona, Bigtha, Abagtha, Sethar und Charkas, die sieben Kämmerer, die vor dem König Ahasveros dienten,
11 That Vashti the queen was to come before him, crowned with her crown, and let the people and the captains see her: for she was very beautiful.
11 d'amener en sa présence la reine Vasthi, avec la couronne royale, pour montrer sa beauté aux peuples et aux grands, car elle était belle de figure.
11 Ar fheiceáil an taibhrimh sin do Mhordacaí, d'éirigh sé agus rinne a mhachnamh ar an scéal agus bhí sé ar a dhícheall ar feadh an lae go hoíche ag iarraidh a fháil amach cad ba chiall leis.
11 Que trajesen á la reina Vasthi delante del rey con la corona regia, para mostrar á los pueblos y á los príncipes su hermosura; porque era linda de aspecto.
11 daß sie die Königin Vasthi holten vor den König mit der königlichen Krone, daß er den Völkern und Fürsten zeigte ihre Schöne; denn sie war schön.
12 But when the servants gave her the king's order, Vashti the queen said she would not come: then the king was very angry, and his heart was burning with wrath.
12 Mais la reine Vasthi refusa de venir, quand elle reçut par les eunuques l'ordre du roi. Et le roi fut très irrité, il fut enflammé de colère.
12 Bhí cónaí ar Mhordacaí sa chúirt in éineacht le Bigteán agus Teiris beirt de choillteáin an rí a bhí ag faire na cúirte.
12 Mas la reina Vasthi no quiso comparecer á la orden del rey, enviada por mano de los eunucos; y enojóse el rey muy mucho, y encendióse en él su ira.
12 Aber die Königin Vasthi wollte nicht kommen nach dem Wort des Königs durch seine Kämmerer. Da ward der König sehr zornig, und sein Grimm entbrannte in ihm.
13 And the king said to the wise men, who had knowledge of the times, (for this was the king's way with all who were expert in law and in the giving of decisions:
13 Alors le roi s'adressa aux sages qui avaient la connaissance des temps. Car ainsi se traitaient les affaires du roi, devant tous ceux qui connaissaient les lois et le droit.
13 Chuala sé ag caint iad, agus rinne sé fiosrú ar a bpleananna agus fuair amach go raibh sé á bheartú acu lámh dhearg a imirt ar an rí Aisiuéaróis; d'inis sé don rí fúthu.
13 Preguntó entonces el rey á los sabios que sabían los tiempos, (porque así era la costubre del rey para con todos los que sabían la ley y el derecho;
13 Und der König sprach zu den Weisen, die sich auf die Zeiten verstanden (denn des Königs Sachen mußten geschehen vor allen, die sich auf Recht und Händel verstanden;
14 And second only to him were Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan, the seven rulers of Persia and Media, who were friends of the king, and had the first places in the kingdom:)
14 Il avait auprès de lui Carschena, Schéthar, Admatha, Tarsis, Mérès, Marsena, Memucan, sept princes de Perse et de Médie, qui voyaient la face du roi et qui occupaient le premier rang dans le royaume.
14 Rinne an rí an bheirt choillteán a cheistiú go géar; d'admhaíodar a gcion agus cuireadh chun báis iad.
14 Y estaban junto á él, Carsena, y Sethar, y Admatha, y Tharsis, y Meres, y Marsena, y Memucán, siete príncipes de Persia y de Media que veían la cara del rey, y se sentaban los primeros del reino:)
14 die nächsten aber die bei ihm waren Charsena, Sethar, Admatha, Tharsis, Meres, Marsena und Memuchan, die sieben Fürsten der Perser und Meder, die das Angesicht des Königs sahen und saßen obenan im Königreich),
15 What is to be done by law to Vashti the queen, because she has not done what King Ahasuerus, by his servants, gave her orders to do?
15 Quelle loi, dit-il, faut-il appliquer à la reine Vasthi, pour n'avoir point exécuté ce que le roi Assuérus lui a ordonné par les eunuques?
15 Bhreac an rí féin tuairisc ar na nithe sin ar phár ina annála agus scríobh Mordacaí síos a chuimhne ina dtaobh chomh maith.
15 Qué se había de hacer según la ley con la reina Vasthi, por cuanto no había cumplido la orden del rey Assuero, enviada por mano de los eunucos.
15 was für ein Recht man an der Königin Vasthi tun sollte, darum daß sie nicht getan hatte nach dem Wort des Königs durch seine Kämmerer.
16 And before the king and the captains, Memucan gave his answer: Vashti the queen has done wrong, not only to the king, but to all the captains and to all the peoples in all the divisions of the kingdom of King Ahasuerus;
16 Memucan répondit devant le roi et les princes: Ce n'est pas seulement à l'égard du roi que la reine Vasthi a mal agi; c'est aussi envers tous les princes et tous les peuples qui sont dans toutes les provinces du roi Assuérus.
16 Ansin cheap an rí Mordacaí in ardghradam sa chúirt agus bhronn tíolacthaí air de bharr a ndearna sé.
16 Y dijo Memucán delante del rey y de los príncipes: No solamente contra el rey ha pecado la reina Vasthi, sino contra todos los príncipes, y contra todos los pueblos que hay en todas las provincias del rey Assuero.
16 Da sprach Memuchan vor dem König und den Fürsten: Die Königin Vasthi hat nicht allein an dem König übel getan, sondern auch an allen Fürsten und an allen Völkern in allen Landen des Königs Ahasveros.
17 For news of what the queen has done will come to the ears of all women, and they will no longer give respect to their husbands when it is said to them, King Ahasuerus gave orders for Vashti the queen to come before him and she came not.
17 Car l'action de la reine parviendra à la connaissance de toutes les femmes, et les portera à mépriser leurs maris; elles diront: Le roi Assuérus avait ordonné qu'on amenât en sa présence la reine Vasthi, et elle n'y est pas allée.
17 Ach Hámán mac Hamadátá an Búgaech, bhí meas mór ag an rí air agus bhí sé ar a dhícheall ag iarraidh díobháil a dhéanamh do Mhordacaí de bharr beirt choillteán an rí.
17 Porque este hecho de la reina pasará á noticia de todas las mujeres, para hacerles tener en poca estima á sus maridos, diciendo: El rey Assuero mandó traer delante de sí á la reina Vasthi, y ella no vino.
17 Denn es wird solche Tat der Königin auskommen zu allen Weibern, daß sie ihre Männer verachten vor ihren Augen und werden sagen: Der König Ahasveros hieß die Königin Vasthi vor sich kommen; aber sie wollte nicht.
18 And the wives of the captains of Persia and Media, hearing what the queen has done, will say the same to all the king's captains. So there will be much shame and wrath.
18 Et dès ce jour les princesses de Perse et de Médie qui auront appris l'action de la reine la rapporteront à tous les chefs du roi; de là beaucoup de mépris et de colère.
IIIIIIIIIII
18 Y entonces dirán esto las señoras de Persia y de Media que oyeren el hecho de la reina, á todos los príncipes del rey: y habrá mucho menosprecio y enojo.
18 So werden nun die Fürstinnen in Persien und Medien auch so sagen zu allen Fürsten des Königs, wenn sie solche Tat der Königin hören; so wird sich Verachtens und Zorn genug erheben.
19 If it is pleasing to the king, let an order go out from him, and let it be recorded among the laws of the Persians and the Medes, so that it may never be changed, that Vashti is never again to come before King Ahasuerus; and let the king give her place to another who is better than she.
19 Si le roi le trouve bon, qu'on publie de sa part et qu'on inscrive parmi les lois des Perses et des Mèdes, avec défense de la transgresser, une ordonnance royale d'après laquelle Vasthi ne paraîtra plus devant le roi Assuérus et le roi donnera la dignité de reine à une autre qui soit meilleure qu'elle.

19 Si parece bien al rey, salga mandamiento real delante de él, y escríbase entre las leyes de Persia y de Media, y no sea traspasado: Que no venga más Vasthi delante del rey Assuero: y dé el rey su reino á su compañera que sea mejor que ella.
19 Gefällt es dem König, so lasse man ein königlich Gebot von ihm ausgehen und schreiben nach der Perser und Meder Gesetz, welches man nicht darf übertreten: daß Vasthi nicht mehr vor den König Ahasveros komme, und der König gebe ihre königliche Würde einer andern, die besser ist denn sie.
20 And when this order, given by the king, is made public through all his kingdom (for it is great), all the wives will give honour to their husbands, great as well as small.
20 L'édit du roi sera connu dans tout son royaume, quelque grand qu'il soit, et toutes les femmes rendront honneur à leurs maris, depuis le plus grand jusqu'au plus petit.

20 Y el mandamiento que hará el rey será oído en todo su reino, aunque es grande, y todas las mujeres darán honra á sus maridos, desde el mayor hasta el menor.
20 Und es erschalle dieser Befehl des Königs, den er geben wird, in sein ganzes Reich, welches groß ist, daß alle Weiber ihre Männer in Ehren halten, unter Großen und Kleinen.
21 And this suggestion seemed good to the king and the captains; and the king did as Memucan said;
21 Cet avis fut approuvé du roi et des princes, et le roi agit d'après la parole de Memucan.
IIIIIIIIIII
21 Y plugo esta palabra en ojos del rey y de los príncipes, é hizo el rey conforme al dicho de Memucán;
21 Das gefiel dem König und den Fürsten; und der König tat nach dem Wort Memuchans.
22 And sent letters to all the divisions of the kingdom, to every division in the writing commonly used there, and to every people in the language which was theirs, saying that every man was to be the ruler in his house, and that this order was to be given out in the language of his people.
22 Il envoya des lettres à toutes les provinces du royaume, à chaque province selon son écriture et à chaque peuple selon sa langue; elles portaient que tout homme devait être le maître dans sa maison, et qu'il parlerait la langue de son peuple.
