1 Now the prophets Haggai and Zechariah, the son of Iddo, were preaching to the Jews in Judah and Jerusalem in the name of the God of Israel.
1 Aggée, le prophète, et Zacharie, fils d'Iddo, le prophète, prophétisèrent aux Juifs qui étaient en Juda et à Jérusalem, au nom du Dieu d'Israël.
1 Ansin chrom na fáithe Hagaí agus Zacairiá mac Ideo ar fháidheoireacht do na Giúdaigh a bhí in Iúdá agus Iarúsailéim in ainm Dhia Iosrael a bhí ina dteannta.
1 Y Profetizaron Haggeo profeta, y Zacarías hijo de Iddo, profetas, á los Judíos que estaba en Judá y en Jerusalem yendo en nombre del Dios de Israel á ellos.
1 Es weissagten aber die Propheten Haggai und Sacharja, der Sohn Iddos, den Juden, die in Juda und Jerusalem waren, im Namen des Gottes Israels.
2 Then Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, got up and made a start at building the house of God at Jerusalem: and the prophets of God were with them, helping them.
2 Alors Zorobabel, fils de Schealthiel, et Josué, fils de Jotsadak, se levèrent et commencèrent à bâtir la maison de Dieu à Jérusalem. Et avec eux étaient les prophètes de Dieu, qui les assistaient.
2 Ansin thosaigh Zarubáibil mac Sheailtíéil agus Iéisiúa mac Iózádác ar Theampall Dé in Iarúsailéim a thógáil; bhí fáithe Dé in éineacht leo ag tabhairt misnigh dóibh.
2 Entonces se levantaron Zorobabel hijo de Sealthiel, y Jesuá hijo de Josadec; y comenzaron á edificar la casa de Dios que estaba en Jerusalem; y con ellos los profetas de Dios que les ayudaban.
2 Da machten sich auf Serubabel, der Sohn Sealthiels, und Jesua, der Sohn Jozadaks, und fingen an zu bauen das Haus Gottes zu Jerusalem, und mit ihnen die Propheten Gottes, die sie stärkten.
3 At the same time, Tattenai, ruler of the land across the river, and Shethar-bozenai, and their men, came to them and said, Who gave you orders to go on building this house and this wall?
3 Dans ce même temps, Thathnaï, gouverneur de ce côté du fleuve, Schethar Boznaï, et leurs collègues, vinrent auprès d'eux et leur parlèrent ainsi: Qui vous a donné l'autorisation de bâtir cette maison et de relever ces murs?
3 Ansin is ea a tháinig Tatanaí, gobharnóir an chúige thar Eofrataes, agus Seatar Bózanaí agus a gcomhghleacaithe chucu agus cheistíodar iad: “Cé thug údarás daoibh an Teampall seo a thógáil agus an tsaoireacht seo a dhéanamh?”
3 En aquel tiempo vino á ellos Tatnai, capitán de la parte allá del río, y Setharboznai y sus compañeros, y dijéronles así: ¿Quién os dió mandamiento para edificar esta casa, y restablecer estos muros?
3 Zu der Zeit kam Thathnai, der Landpfleger diesseits des Wassers, und Sethar-Bosnai und ihr Rat und sprachen also zu ihnen: Wer hat euch befohlen, dies Haus zu bauen und seine Mauern zu machen?
4 Then they said these words to them: What are the names of the men who are at work on this building?
4 Ils leur dirent encore: Quels sont les noms des hommes qui construisent cet édifice?
4 Chuireadar ceist orthu chomh maith: “Cad is ainm don mhuintir atá i mbun na tógála seo?”
4 Entonces les dijimos en orden á esto cuáles eran los nombres de los varones que edificaban este edificio.
4 Da sagten wir ihnen, wie die Männer hießen, die diesen Bau taten.
5 But the eye of their God was on the chiefs of the Jews, and they did not make them give up working till the question had been put before Darius and an answer had come by letter about it.
5 Mais l'oeil de Dieu veillait sur les anciens des Juifs. Et on laissa continuer les travaux pendant l'envoi d'un rapport à Darius et jusqu'à la réception d'une lettre sur cet objet.
5 Ach bhí súile a nDé dírithe ar sheanóirí na nGiúdach agus níor chuir siad cosc leo nó go gcuirfí tuairisc go Dáire agus go dtiocfadh freagra oifigiúil ar ais i litir uaidh i dtaobh an ghnó.
5 Mas los ojos de su Dios fueron sobre los ancianos de los Judíos, y no les hicieron cesar hasta que el negocio viniese á Darío: y entonces respondieron por carta sobre esto.
5 Aber das Auge ihres Gottes war über den Ältesten der Juden, daß ihnen nicht gewehrt ward, bis daß man die Sache an Darius gelangen ließ und darüber eine Schrift wiederkäme.
6 This is a copy of the letter which Tattenai, the ruler of the land across the river, and Shethar-bozenai and his friends the Apharsachites, living across the river, sent to Darius the king:
6 Copie de la lettre envoyée au roi Darius par Thathnaï, gouverneur de ce côté du fleuve. Schethar Boznaï, et leurs collègues d'Apharsac, demeurant de ce côté du fleuve.
6 Cóip den litir a chuir Tatanaí, gobharnóir an chúige thar Eofrataes agus Seatar Bózanaí agus a chomhghleacaithe, na feidhmeannaigh sa chúige thar Eofrataes, go dtí Dáire rí:
6 Traslado de la carta que Tatnai, capitán de la parte allá del río, y Sethar-boznai, y sus compañeros los Apharsachêos, que estaban á la parte allá del río, enviaron al rey Darío.
6 Dies ist aber der Inhalt des Briefes Thathnais, des Landpflegers diesseits des Wassers, und Sethar-Bosnais und ihres Rats, derer von Apharsach, die diesseits des Wassers waren, an den König Darius.
7 They sent him a letter saying, To Darius the king, all peace:
7 Ils lui adressèrent un rapport ainsi conçu: Au roi Darius, salut!
7 chuireadar tuairisc chuige a ghabh mar leanas: Do Dháire rí! Síocháin!
7 Enviáronle carta, y de esta manera estaba escrito en ella. Al rey Darío toda paz.
7 Und die Worte die sie zu ihm sandten, lauteten also: Dem König Darius allen Frieden!
8 This is to give the king word that we went into the land of Judah, to the house of the great God, which is made of great stones, and has its walls supported with wood, and the work is going on with industry, and they are doing it well.
8 Que le roi sache que nous sommes allés dans la province de Juda, à la maison du grand Dieu. Elle se construit en pierres de taille, et le bois se pose dans les murs; le travail marche rapidement et réussit entre leurs mains.
8 Bíodh a fhios ag an rí go ndeachamar go críocha Iúdá, go Teampall Dé Mhóir; tá sé á thógáil de gharbhóga móra cloch, agus tá síleáil d'adhmad á cur leis na ballaí; tá an obair á déanamh le barr cáiréise, agus tá sí ag dul chun cinn le fuinneamh a ngéag.
8 Sea notorio al rey, que fuimos á la provincia de Judea, á la casa del gran Dios, la cual se edifica de piedra de mármol; y los maderos son puestos en las paredes, y la obra se hace apriesa, y prospera en sus manos.
8 Es sei kund dem König, daß wir ins jüdische Land gekommen sind zu dem Hause des großen Gottes, welches man baut mit behauenen Steinen, und Balken legt man in die Wände, und das Werk geht frisch vonstatten unter ihrer Hand.
9 Then we said to the men responsible, who gave you authority for the building of this house and these walls?
9 Nous avons interrogé les anciens, et nous leur avons ainsi parlé: Qui vous a donné l'autorisation de bâtir cette maison et de relever ces murs?
9 Chuireamar ceist ar na seanóirí: “Cé a thug údarás daoibh an Teampall seo a thógail agus an tsaoireacht seo a dhéanamh?”
9 Entonces preguntamos á los ancianos, diciéndoles así: ¿Quién os dió mandameinto para edificar esta casa, y para restablecer estos muros?
9 Wir aber haben die Ältesten gefragt und zu ihnen gesagt also: Wer hat euch befohlen, dies Haus zu bauen und seine Mauern zu machen?
10 And we made request for their names, so that we might send you word, and give you the names of the men at the head of them.
10 Nous leur avons aussi demandé leurs noms pour te les faire connaître, et nous avons mis par écrit les noms des hommes qui sont à leur tête.
10 D'fhiafraíomar díobh freisin cad ab ainm dóibh le go mbeadh a fhios agat; ar an tslí sin d'éirigh linn liosta a dhéanamh den mhuintir atá ag maoirseacht ar an muintir sin.
10 Y también les preguntamos sus nombres para hacértelo saber, para escribir te los nombres de los varones que estaban por cabezas de ellos.
10 Auch fragten wir, wie sie hießen, auf daß wir sie dir kundtäten und die Namen der Männer aufschrieben, die ihre Obersten waren.
11 And they made answer to us, saying, We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and we are building the house which was put up in times long past and was designed and made complete by a great king of Israel.
11 Voici la réponse qu'ils nous ont faite: Nous sommes les serviteurs du Dieu des cieux et de la terre, et nous rebâtissons la maison qui avait été construite il y a bien des années; un grand roi d'Israël l'avait bâtie et achevée.
11 Sé freagra a thug siad orainn: “Searbhóntaí do Dhia neimhe agus talún sinne; tá Teampall á atógáil againn a bhí ina sheasamh mórán blianta go dtí le déanaí; rí mór ar Iosrael a thóg agus a chríochnaigh é.
11 Y respondiéronnos, diciendo así: Nosotros somos siervos de Dios del cielo y de la tierra, y reedificamos la casa que ya muchos años antes había sido edificada, la cual edificó y fundó el gran rey de Israel.
11 Sie aber gaben uns solche Worte zur Antwort und sprachen: Wir sind Knechte des Gottes im Himmel und der Erde und bauen das Haus, das vormals vor vielen Jahren gebaut war, das ein großer König Israels gebaut hat und aufgerichtet.
12 But when the God of heaven was moved to wrath by our fathers, he gave them up into the hands of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, the Chaldaean, who sent destruction on this house and took the people away into Babylon.
12 Mais après que nos pères eurent irrité le Dieu des cieux, il les livra entre les mains de Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, le Chaldéen, qui détruisit cette maison et emmena le peuple captif à Babylone.
12 Ach chuir ár sinsir fearg ar Dhia neimhe agus thug seisean ar láimh iad do Nabúcadnazar an Caildéach, rí na Bablóine, agus scrios seisean an Teampall agus rinne sé na daoine a ionnarbadh go dtí an Bhablóin.
12 Mas después que nuestros padres ensañaron al Dios de los cielos, él los entregó en mano de Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, Caldeo, el cual destruyó esta casa, é hizo trasportar el pueblo á Babilonia.
12 Da aber unsre Väter den Gott des Himmels erzürnten, gab er sie in die Hand Nebukadnezars, des Königs zu Babel, des Chaldäers; der zerbrach dies Haus und führte das Volk weg gen Babel.
13 But in the first year of Cyrus, king of Babylon, Cyrus the king gave an order for the building of this house of God;
13 Toutefois, la première année de Cyrus, roi de Babylone, le roi Cyrus donna l'ordre de rebâtir cette maison de Dieu.
13 Sa chéad bhliain de réimeas Chíorais, ámh, rinne Cíoras rí forógra an Teampall seo Dé a atógáil.
13 Empero el primer año de Ciro rey de Babilonia, el mismo rey Ciro dió mandamiento para que esta casa de Dios fuese edificada.
13 Aber im ersten Jahr des Kores, des Königs zu Babel, befahl derselbe König Kores, dies Haus Gottes zu bauen.
14 And the gold and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took from the Temple which was in Jerusalem, and put into the house of his god in Babylon, these Cyrus the king took from the house of his god in Babylon, and gave to one named Sheshbazzar, whom he had made ruler;
14 Et même le roi Cyrus ôta du temple de Babylone les ustensiles d'or et d'argent de la maison de Dieu, que Nebucadnetsar avait enlevés du temple de Jérusalem et transportés dans le temple de Babylone, il les fit remettre au nommé Scheschbatsar, qu'il établit gouverneur,
14 Agus na soithí óir agus airgid le Teampall Dé a thóg Nabúcadnazar ón Teampall in Iarúsailéim agus a thug sé leis go dtí an teampall sa Bhablóin, thóg Cíoras rí iad ón teampall sa Bhablóin agus thug ar ais iad do dhuine darbh ainm Séisbeazar, fear a cheap sé ina ghobarnóir.
14 Y también los vasos de oro y de plata de la casa de Dios, que Nabucodonosor había sacado del templo que estaba en Jerusalem, y los había metido en el templo de Babilonia, el rey Ciro los sacó del templo de Babilonia, y fueron entregados á Sesbassar, al cual había puesto por gobernador;
14 Denn auch die goldenen und silbernen Gefäße im Hause Gottes, die Nebukadnezar aus dem Tempel zu Jerusalem nahm und brachte sie in den Tempel zu Babel, nahm der König Kores aus dem Tempel zu Babel und gab sie Sesbazar mit Namen, den er zum Landpfleger setzte,
15 And he said to him, Go, take these vessels, and put them in the Temple in Jerusalem, and let the house of God be put up again in its place.
15 et il lui dit: Prends ces ustensiles, va les déposer dans le temple de Jérusalem, et que la maison de Dieu soit rebâtie sur le lieu où elle était.
15 Dúirt sé leis: ‘Tóg na soithí seo; tabhair ar ais iad don sanctóir in Iarúsailéim agus tógtar Teampall an Tiarna ar a láthair bhunaidh.’
15 Y le dijo: Toma estos vasos, ve y ponlos en el templo que está en Jerusalem; y la casa de Dios sea edificada en su lugar.
15 und sprach zu ihm: Diese Gefäße nimm, zieh hin und bringe sie in den Tempel zu Jerusalem und laß das Haus Gottes bauen an seiner Stätte.
16 Then this same Sheshbazzar came and put the house of God in Jerusalem on its bases: and from that time till now the building has been going on, but it is still not complete.
16 Ce Scheschbatsar est donc venu, et il a posé les fondements de la maison de Dieu à Jérusalem; depuis lors jusqu'à présent elle se construit, et elle n'est pas achevée.
16 Tháinig an Séisbeazar céanna dá bhrí sin agus leag sé clocha boinn Theampall Dé in Iarúsailéim; tá sé á thógáil acu riamh ó shin, ach níl deireadh déanta fós.”
16 Entonces este Sesbassar vino, y puso los fundamentos de la casa de Dios que estaba en Jerusalem, y desde entonces hasta ahora se edifica, y aun no está acabada.
16 Da kam derselbe Sesbazar und legte den Grund am Hause Gottes zu Jerusalem. Seit der Zeit baut man, und es ist noch nicht vollendet.
17 So now, if it seems good to the king, let search be made in the king's store-house at Babylon, to see if it is true that an order was given by Cyrus the king for the building of this house of God at Jerusalem, and let the king send us word of his pleasure in connection with this business.
17 Maintenant, si le roi le trouve bon, que l'on fasse des recherches dans la maison des trésors du roi à Babylone, pour voir s'il y a eu de la part du roi Cyrus un ordre donné pour la construction de cette maison de Dieu à Jérusalem. Puis, que le roi nous transmette sa volonté sur cet objet.
