1 Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king, and he was ruling in Jerusalem for sixteen years; he did not do what was right in the eyes of the Lord, like David his father:
1 Achaz avait vingt ans lorsqu'il devint roi, et il régna seize ans à Jérusalem. Il ne fit point ce qui est droit aux yeux de l'Éternel, comme avait fait David, son père.

1 De Veinte años era Achâz cuando comenzó á reinar, y dieciséis años reinó en Jerusalem: mas no hizo lo recto en ojos de Jehová, como David su padre.
1 Ahas war zwanzig Jahre alt, da er König ward, und regierte sechzehn Jahre zu Jerusalem und tat nicht, was dem HERRN wohl gefiel, wie sein Vater David,
2 But he went in the ways of the kings of Israel and made images of metal for the Baals.
2 Il marcha dans les voies des rois d'Israël; et même il fit des images en fonte pour les Baals,
2 ach lean sé sampla ríthe Iosrael, agus rinne sé fiú íomhánna miotail a theilgean do na Bálaím.
2 Antes anduvo en los caminos de los reyes de Israel, y además hizo imágenes de fundición á los Baales.
2 sondern wandelte in den Wegen der Könige Israels. Dazu machte er gegossene Bilder den Baalim
3 More than this, he had offerings burned in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and made his children go through fire, copying the disgusting ways of the nations whom the Lord had sent out of the land before the children of Israel.
3 il brûla des parfums dans la vallée des fils de Hinnom, et il fit passer ses fils par le feu, suivant les abominations des nations que l'Éternel avait chassées devant les enfants d'Israël.
3 D'ofráil sé túis i nGleann Mhac Hiniom agus thug ar a mhic féin fiú gabháil trí thine de réir mar a chleachtaí go náireach ag na ciníocha a dhíbir an Tiarna roimh chlann Iosrael.
3 Quemó también perfume en el valle de los hijos de Hinnom, y quemó sus hijos por fuego, conforme á las abominaciones de las gentes que Jehová había echado delante de los hijos de Israel.
3 und räucherte im Tal der Kinder Hinnom und verbrannte seine Söhne mit Feuer nach den Greuel der Heiden, die der HERR vor den Kindern Israel vertrieben hatte,
4 And he made offerings and had perfumes burned in the high places and on the hills and under every green tree.
4 Il offrait des sacrifices et des parfums sur les hauts lieux, sur les collines et sous tout arbre vert.
4 D'ofráil sé íobairtí agus túis ar na hardionaid, ar na cnoic agus faoi gach crann craobhach.
4 Asimismo sacrificó y quemó perfumes en los altos, y en los collados, y debajo de todo árbol espeso.
4 und opferte und räucherte auf den Höhen und auf den Hügeln und unter allen grünen Bäumen.
5 So the Lord his God gave him up into the hands of the king of Aram; and they overcame him, and took away a great number of his people as prisoners to Damascus. Then he was given into the hands of the king of Israel, who sent great destruction on him.
5 L'Éternel, son Dieu, le livra entre les mains du roi de Syrie; et les Syriens le battirent et lui firent un grand nombre de prisonniers, qu'ils emmenèrent à Damas. Il fut aussi livré entre les mains du roi d'Israël, qui lui fit éprouver une grande défaite.
5 Uime sin thug an Tiarna a Dhia suas é do chumhacht rí na nArámach; bhris seisean air, agus ghabh sé líon mór dá phobal ina mbránna agus rug leis go dtí an Damaisc iad. Tugadh ar láimh do rí Iosrael é freisin agus rinne seisean ár agus eirleach ar a shluaite.
5 Por lo cual Jehová su Dios lo entregó en manos del rey de los Siros, los cuales le derrotaron, y cogieron de él una grande presa, que llevaron á Damasco. Fué también entregado en manos del rey de Israel, el cual lo batió con gran mortandad.
5 Darum gab ihn der HERR, sein Gott, in die Hand des Königs von Syrien, daß sie ihn schlugen und einen großen Haufen von den Seinen gefangen wegführten und gen Damaskus brachten. Auch ward er gegeben unter die Hand des Königs Israels, daß er einen großen Schlag an ihm tat.
6 For Pekah, the son of Remaliah, in one day put to death a hundred and twenty thousand men of Judah, all of them good fighting-men; because they had given up the Lord, the God of their fathers.
6 Pékach, fils de Remalia, tua dans un seul jour en Juda cent vingt mille hommes, tous vaillants, parce qu'ils avaient abandonné l'Éternel, le Dieu de leurs pères.
6 Mharaigh Peacach mac Ramailiá céad agus a fiche míle fear, curaidh chalma iad uile, san aon lá amháin in Iúdá; toisc gur thréig siad an Tiarna, Dia a sinsear, a tharla sin dóibh.
6 Porque Peca, hijo de Remalías mató en Judá en un día ciento y veinte mil, todos hombres valientes; por cuanto habían dejado á Jehová el Dios de sus padres.
6 Denn Pekah, der Sohn Remaljas, schlug in Juda hundertzwanzigtausend auf einen Tag, die alle streitbare Leute waren, darum daß sie den HERRN, ihrer Väter Gott, verließen.
7 And Zichri, a great fighting-man of Ephraim, put to death Maaseiah, the king's son, and Azrikam, the controller of his house, and Elkanah, who was second in authority to the king.
7 Zicri, guerrier d'Éphraïm, tua Maaséja, fils du roi, Azrikam, chef de la maison royale, et Elkana, le second après le roi.
7 Zicrí, gaiscíoch ó Eafráim, mharaigh sé Másaeiá, mac an rí, agus Aizríceám, reachtaire an pháláis, agus Ealcáná, tánaiste an rí. Trócaire
7 Asimismo Zichri, hombre poderoso de Ephraim, mató á Maasías hijo del rey, y á Azricam su mayordomo, y á Elcana, segundo después del rey.
7 Und Sichri, ein Gewaltiger in Ephraim, erwürgte Maaseja, einen Königssohn, und Asrikam, den Hausfürsten, und Elkana, den nächsten nach dem König.
8 And the children of Israel took away as prisoners from their brothers, two hundred thousand, women and sons and daughters, and a great store of their goods, and took them to Samaria.
8 Les enfants d'Israël firent parmi leurs frères deux cent mille prisonniers, femmes, fils et filles, et ils leur prirent beaucoup de butin, qu'ils emmenèrent à Samarie.
8 Ghabh na hIosraelaigh dhá chéad míle dá ngaolta, mná agus mic agus iníonacha; ghabh siad a lán creiche uathu chomh maith agus thug siad an chreach leo chun na Samáire.
8 Tomaron también cautivos los hijos de Israel de sus hermanos doscientos mil, mujeres, muchachos, y muchachas, á más de haber saqueado de ellos un gran despojo, el cual trajeron á Samaria.
8 Und die Kinder Israel führten gefangen weg zweihunderttausend Weiber, Söhne und Töchter und nahmen dazu großen Raub von ihnen und brachten den Raub gen Samaria.
9 But a prophet of the Lord was there, named Oded; and he went out in front of the army which was coming into Samaria and said to them, Truly, because the Lord, the God of your fathers, was angry with Judah, he gave them up into your hands, and you have put them to death in an outburst of wrath stretching up to heaven.
9 Il y avait là un prophète de l'Éternel, nommé Oded. Il alla au-devant de l'armée qui revenait à Samarie, et il leur dit: C'est dans sa colère contre Juda que l'Éternel, le Dieu de vos pères, les a livrés entre vos mains, et vous les avez tués avec une fureur qui est montée jusqu'aux cieux.
9 Bhí fáidh leis an Tiarna ann darbh ainm Obaed agus ghabh sé amach i gcoinne an airm ar a slí ar ais go dtí an tSamáir agus dúirt: “Bhí an Tiarna, Dia bhur sinsear, i bhfearg le Iúdá agus thug sé ar láimh daoibh iad dá bhrí sin, ach rinne sibhse ár orthu, lena leithéid de fhíoch gur shroich sé chun na bhflaitheas.
9 Había entonces allí un profeta de Jehová, que se llamaba Obed, el cual salió delante del ejército cuando entraba en Samaria, y díjoles: He aquí Jehová el Dios de vuestros padres, por el enojo contra Judá, los ha entregado en vuestras manos; y vosotros los habéis muerto con ira, que hasta el cielo ha llegado.
9 Es war daselbst aber ein Prophet des HERRN, der hieß Obed; der ging heraus, dem Heer entgegen, das gen Samaria kam, und sprach zu ihnen: Siehe, weil der HERR, eurer Väter Gott, über Juda zornig ist, hat er sie in eure Hände gegeben; ihr aber habt sie erwürgt so greulich, daß es in den Himmel reicht.
10 And now your purpose is to keep the children of Judah and Jerusalem as men-servants and women-servants under your yoke: but are there no sins against the Lord your God to be seen among yourselves?
10 Et vous pensez maintenant faire des enfants de Juda et de Jérusalem vos serviteurs et vos servantes! Mais vous, n'êtes-vous pas coupables envers l'Éternel, votre Dieu?
10 Agus anois tá sé mar sprioc agaibh cuing na daoirseachta a chur ar mhuintir Iúdá agus Iarúsailéim, idir fhir agus mhná. Nach bhfuil peacaí do bhur gcuid féin oraibh in aghaidh an Tiarna bhur nDia?
10 Y ahora habéis determinado sujetar á vosotros á Judá y á Jerusalem por siervos y siervas: mas ¿no habéis vosotros pecado contra Jehová vuestro Dios?
10 Nun gedenkt ihr, die Kinder Juda's und Jerusalems euch zu unterwerfen zu Knechten und Mägden. Ist das denn nicht Schuld bei euch wider den HERRN, euren Gott?
11 And now give ear to me, and send back the prisoners whom you have taken from your brothers: for the wrath of the Lord is burning against you.
11 Écoutez-moi donc, et renvoyez ces captifs que vous avez faits parmi vos frères; car la colère ardente de l'Éternel est sur vous.
11 Éistigí liom anois: scaoiligí saor na bránna a ghabh sibh ó bhur ngaolta mar tá fraoch feirge an Tiarna sa mhullach oraibh.”
11 Oidme pues ahora, y volved á enviar los cautivos que habéis tomado de vuestros hermanos: porque Jehová está airado contra vosotros.
11 So gehorcht mir nun und bringt die Gefangenen wieder hin, die ihr habt weggeführt aus euren Brüdern; denn des HERRN Zorn ist über euch ergrimmt.
12 Then certain of the heads of the children of Ephraim, Azariah, the son of Johanan, Berechiah, the son of Meshillemoth Jehizkiah, the son of Shallum, and Amasa the son of Hadlai, put themselves against those who had come from the war,
12 Quelques-uns d'entre les chefs des fils d'Éphraïm, Azaria, fils de Jochanan, Bérékia, fils de Meschillémoth, Ézéchias, fils de Schallum, et Amasa, fils de Hadlaï, s'élevèrent contre ceux qui revenaient de l'armée,
12 Taoisigh áirithe d'Eafráim, Azairiá mac Iahóchánán, Beiriciá mac Mhisiléamót, Ichizcíá mac Shealum, agus Amásá mac Hadlái, sheas siad an fód in aghaidh na muintire a bhí ag filleadh ón bhfeachtas
12 Levantáronse entonces algunos varones de los principales de los hijos de Ephraim, Azarías hijo de Johanán, y Berechîas hijo de Mesillemoth, y Ezechîas hijo de Sallum, y Amasa hijo de Hadlai, contra los que venían de la guerra.
12 Da machten sich auf etliche unter den Vornehmsten der Kinder Ephraim: Asarja, der Sohn Johanans, Berechja, der Sohn Mesillemoths, Jehiskia, der Sohn Sallums, und Amasa, der Sohn Hadlais, wider die, so aus dem Heer kamen,
13 And said to them, You are not to let these prisoners come here; for what you are designing to do will be a cause of sin against the Lord to us, making even greater our sin and our wrongdoing, which now are great enough, and his wrath is burning against Israel.
13 et leur dirent: Vous ne ferez point entrer ici des captifs; car, pour nous rendre coupables envers l'Éternel, vous voulez ajouter à nos péchés et à nos fautes. Nous sommes déjà bien coupables, et la colère ardente de l'Éternel est sur Israël.
13 agus dúirt siad leo: “Ní thabharfaidh sibh na bránna anseo isteach nó beimid ciontach i bhfianaise an Tiarna. Tá sé i gceist agaibh cur lenár bpeacaí agus lenár gciontacht; ach is trom í ár gciontacht cheana agus tá fraoch feirge an Tiarna ag bagairt ar Iosrael.”
13 Y dijéronles: No metáis acá la cautividad; porque el pecado contra Jehová será sobre nosotros. Vosotros tratáis de añadir sobre nuestros pecados y sobre nuestras culpas, siendo asaz grande nuestro delito, y la ira del furor sobre Israel.
13 und sprachen zu ihnen: Ihr sollt die Gefangenen nicht hereinbringen; denn ihr gedenkt nur, Schuld vor dem HERRN über uns zu bringen, auf daß ihr unsrer Sünden und Schuld desto mehr macht; denn es ist schon der Schuld zu viel und der Zorn über Israel ergrimmt.
14 So the armed men gave up the prisoners and the goods they had taken to the heads and the meeting of the people.
14 Les soldats abandonnèrent les captifs et le butin devant les chefs et devant toute l'assemblée.
14 D'fhág an t‑arm dá bhrí sin na bránna agus an chreach ansiúd i láthair na dtaoiseach agus an chomhthionóil go léir.
14 Entonces el ejército dejó los cautivos y la presa delante de los príncipes y de toda la multitud.
14 Da ließen die Geharnischten die Gefangenen und den Raub vor den Obersten und vor der ganzen Gemeinde.
15 And those men who have been named went up and took the prisoners, clothing those among them who were uncovered, with things from the goods which had been taken in the war, and putting robes on them and shoes on their feet; and they gave them food and drink and oil for their bodies, and seating all the feeble among them on asses, they took them to Jericho, the town of palm-trees, to their people, and then went back to Samaria.
15 Et les hommes dont les noms viennent d'être mentionnés se levèrent et prirent les captifs; ils employèrent le butin à vêtir tous ceux qui étaient nus, ils leur donnèrent des habits et des chaussures, ils les firent manger et boire, ils les oignirent, ils conduisirent sur des ânes tous ceux qui étaient fatigués, et ils les menèrent à Jéricho, la ville des palmiers, auprès de leurs frères. Puis ils retournèrent à Samarie.
15 Ainmníodh daoine ar leith agus d'éirigh siadsan agus thug aire do na bránna; aon chuid acu a bhí gan éadach, thug siad éadach ón gcreach dóibh; thug siad éadaí agus cuaráin dóibh, bia agus deoch; agus chuir ola orthu; chuir siad na daoine leonta ina measc ar muin asal agus thug ar ais iad go dtí a ngaolta in Ireachó, cathair na bpailmeacha. Ansin d'fhill siad go dtí an tSamáir. Peacaí Áchaz
15 Y levantáronse los varones nombrados, y tomaron los cautivos, y vistieron del despojo á los que de ellos estaban desnudos; vistiéronlos y calzáronlos, y diéronles de comer y de beber, y ungiéronlos, y condujeron en asnos á todos los flacos, y lleváronlos hasta Jericó, ciudad de las palmas, cerca de sus hermanos; y ellos se volvieron á Samaria.
15 Da standen auf die Männer, die jetzt mit Namen genannt sind, und nahmen die Gefangenen; und alle, die bloß unter ihnen waren, zogen sie an von dem Geraubten und kleideten sie und zogen ihnen Schuhe an und gaben ihnen zu essen und zu trinken und salbten sie und führten sie auf Eseln alle, die schwach waren, und brachten sie gen Jericho, zur Palmenstadt, zu ihren Brüdern und kamen wieder gen Samaria.
16 At that time King Ahaz sent for help to the king of Assyria.
16 En ce temps-là, le roi Achaz envoya demander du secours aux rois d'Assyrie.
16 Chuir Áchaz rí fios ar ríthe na hAsaíre le teacht i gcabhair air.
16 En aquel tiempo envió á pedir el rey Achâz á los reyes de Asiria que le ayudasen:
16 Zu derselben Zeit sandte der König Ahas zu den Königen von Assyrien, daß sie ihm hülfen.
17 For the Edomites had come again, attacking Judah and taking away prisoners.
17 Les Édomites vinrent encore, battirent Juda, et emmenèrent des captifs.
17 Rinne Eadóm ionradh arís agus bhris siad ar Iúdá, agus thug siad bránna leo.
17 Porque á más de esto, los Idumeos habían venido y herido á los de Judá, y habían llevado cautivos.
17 Und es kamen abermals die Edomiter und schlugen Juda und führten etliche weg.
18 And the Philistines, forcing their way into the towns of the lowlands and the south of Judah, had taken Beth-shemesh and Aijalon and Gederoth and Soco, with their daughter-towns, as well as Timnah and Gimzo and their daughter-towns, and were living there.
18 Les Philistins firent une invasion dans les villes de la plaine et du midi de Juda; ils prirent Beth Schémesch, Ajalon, Guedéroth, Soco et les villes de son ressort, Thimna et les villes de son ressort Guimzo et les villes de son ressort, et ils s'y établirent.
18 Bhí na Filistínigh ag creachadh na gcathracha ar na hísleáin agus i Neigib Iúdá. Ghabh siad Béit Seimis, Aiálón, Gadaerót, Sócó lena bhailte máguaird, Timneá lena bhailte máguaird, Gimzeo lena bhailte máguaird, agus chuir siad fúthu iontu.
18 Asimismo los Filisteos se habían derramado por las ciudades de la llanura, y al mediodía de Judá, y habían tomado á Beth-semes, á Ajalón, Gederoth, y Sochô con sus aldeas, Timna también con sus aldeas, y Gimzo con sus aldeas; y habitaban en ellas.
18 Auch fielen die Philister ein in die Städte in der Aue und dem Mittagslande Juda's und gewannen Beth-Semes, Ajalon, Gederoth und Socho mit ihren Ortschaften und wohnten darin.
19 For the Lord made Judah low, because of Ahaz, king of Israel; for he had given up all self-control in Judah, sinning greatly against the Lord.
19 Car l'Éternel humilia Juda, à cause d'Achaz, roi d'Israël, qui avait jeté le désordre dans Juda et commis des péchés contre l'Éternel.
19 Rinne an Tiarna Iúdá a umhlú de bharr Áchaz rí Iosrael mar go ndearna sé faillí ar Iúdá agus feall ar an Tiarna.
19 Porque Jehová había humillado á Judá por causa de Achâz rey de Israel: por cuanto él había desnudado á Judá, y rebeládose gravemente contra Jehová.
19 Denn der HERR demütigte Juda um Ahas willen, des Königs Juda's, darum daß er die Zucht auflöste in Juda und vergriff sich am HERRN.
20 Then Tiglath-pileser, king of Assyria, came to him, but was a cause of trouble and not of strength to him.
20 Tilgath Pilnéser, roi d'Assyrie, vint contre lui, le traita en ennemi, et ne le soutint pas.
20 Tháinig Tigleat Pileisir rí na hAsaíre ina choinne, chuir léigear air ach theip air é a chloí.
20 Y vino contra él Tilgath-pilneser, rey de los Asirios: pues lo redujo á estrechez, y no lo fortificó.
20 Und es kam wider ihn Thilgath-Pilneser, der König von Assyrien; der bedrängte ihn, und stärkte ihn nicht.
21 For Ahaz took a part of the wealth from the house of the Lord, and from the house of the king and of the great men, and gave it to the king of Assyria; but it was no help to him.
21 Car Achaz dépouilla la maison de l'Éternel, la maison du roi et celle des chefs, pour faire des présents au roi d'Assyrie; ce qui ne lui fut d'aucun secours.
21 Thóg Áchaz cuid den mhaoin i dTeampall an Tiarna agus i bpálás an rí agus na dtaoiseach agus thug mar cháin do rí na hAsaíre é, ach ní bhfuair sé aon ní uaidh dá thairbhe.
21 Aunque despojó Achâz la casa de Jehová, y la casa real, y las de los príncipes, para dar al rey de los Asirios, con todo eso él no le ayudó.
21 Denn Ahas plünderte das Haus des HERRN und das Haus des Königs und der Obersten und gab es dem König von Assyrien; aber es half ihm nichts.
22 And in the time of his trouble, this same King Ahaz did even more evil against the Lord.
22 Pendant qu'il était dans la détresse, il continuait à pécher contre l'Éternel, lui, le roi Achaz.
22 Ina chruachas dó, d'éirigh sé níos mídhísle fós, an rí Áchaz:
22 Además el rey Achâz en el tiempo que aquél le apuraba, añadió prevaricación contra Jehová;
22 Dazu in seiner Not machte der König Ahas das Vergreifen am HERRN noch mehr
23 For he made offerings to the gods of Damascus, who were attacking him, and said, Because the gods of the kings of Aram are giving them help, I will make offerings to them so that they may give me help. But they were the cause of his downfall, and of that of all Israel.
23 Il sacrifia aux dieux de Damas, qui l'avaient frappé, et il dit: Puisque les dieux des rois de Syrie leur viennent en aide, je leur sacrifierai pour qu'ils me secourent. Mais ils furent l'occasion de sa chute et de celle de tout Israël.
23 d'ofráil sé íobairtí do dhéithe na Damaisce a chloígh é agus dúirt: “De bhrí gur thug déithe ríthe Arám cabhair dóibhsean, déanfaidh mé íobairt chucu le súil go gcabhróidh siad liomsa.” Ach thug siad an mí-ádh sa mhullach air féin agus ar Iosrael.
23 Porque sacrificó á los dioses de Damasco que le habían herido, y dijo: Pues que los dioses de los reyes de Siria les ayudan, yo también sacrificaré á ellos para que me ayuden; bien que fueron éstos su ruina, y la de todo Israel.
23 und opferte den Göttern zu Damaskus, die ihn geschlagen hatten, und sprach: Die Götter der Könige von Assyrien helfen ihnen; darum will ich ihnen opfern, daß sie mir auch helfen, so doch dieselben ihn und dem ganzen Israel zum Fall waren.
24 And Ahaz got together the vessels of the house of God, cutting up all the vessels of the house of God, and shutting the doors of the Lord's house; and he made altars in every part of Jerusalem.
24 Achaz rassembla les ustensiles de la maison de Dieu, et il mit en pièces les ustensiles de la maison de Dieu. Il ferma les portes de la maison de l'Éternel, il se fit des autels à tous les coins de Jérusalem,
24 Rinne Áchaz cuid de ghréithe Theampall Dé a bhailiú le chéile, agus a thuilleadh díobh a bhriseadh. Dhún sé doirse Theampall an Tiarna agus chuir sé suas altóirí dó féin ag cúinne gach sráide in Iarúsailéim.
24 A más de eso recogió Achâz los vasos de la casa de Dios, y quebrólos, y cerró las puertas de la casa de Jehová, é hízose altares en Jerusalem en todos los rincones.
24 Und Ahas brachte zuhauf die Gefäße des Hauses Gottes und zerschlug die Gefäße im Hause Gottes und schloß die Türen zu am Hause des HERRN und machte sich Altäre in allen Winkeln zu Jerusalem.
25 And in every town of Judah he made high places where perfumes were burned to other gods, awaking the wrath of the Lord, the God of his fathers.
25 et il établit des hauts lieux dans chacune des villes de Juda pour offrir des parfums à d'autres dieux. Il irrita ainsi l'Éternel, le Dieu de ses pères.
25 Rinne sé ardionaid le túis a ofráil do dhéithe eile i ngach cathair in Iúdá, agus ar an tslí sin rinne sé an Tiarna, Dia a shinsear, a ghriogadh chun feirge.
25 Hizo también altos en todas las ciudades de Judá, para quemar perfumes á los dioses ajenos, provocando así á ira á Jehová el Dios de sus padres.
25 Und in den Städten Juda's hin und her machte er Höhen, zu räuchern andern Göttern, und reizte den HERRN, seiner Väter Gott.
26 Now the rest of his acts and all his ways, first and last, are recorded in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
26 Le reste de ses actions et toutes ses voies, les premières et les dernières, cela est écrit dans le livre des rois de Juda et d'Israël.
26 An chuid eile dá stair, a bhearta go léir, ó thús deireadh, nach bhfuil sé scríofa i Leabhar Ríthe Iúdá agus Iosrael?
