1 And the people of Jerusalem made Ahaziah, his youngest son, king in his place, for the band of men who came with the Arabians to the army had put all the older sons to death. So Ahaziah, the son of Jehoram, became king.
1 Les habitants de Jérusalem firent régner à sa place Achazia, son plus jeune fils; car la troupe venue au camp avec les Arabes avait tué tous les plus âgés. Ainsi régna Achazia, fils de Joram, roi de Juda.

1 Y Los moradores de Jerusalem hicieron rey en lugar suyo á Ochôzías su hijo menor: porque la tropa había venido con los Arabes al campo, había muerto á todos los mayores; por lo cual reinó Ochôzías, hijo de Joram rey de Judá.
1 Und die zu Jerusalem machten zum König Ahasja, seinen jüngsten Sohn, an seiner Statt. Denn die Kriegsleute, die aus den Arabern zum Lager kamen, hatten die ersten alle erwürgt; darum ward König Ahasja, der Sohn Jorams, des Königs in Juda.
2 Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he was ruling in Jerusalem for one year. His mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri.
2 Achazia avait quarante-deux ans lorsqu'il devint roi, et il régna un an à Jérusalem. Sa mère s'appelait Athalie, fille d'Omri.
2 Bhí Achaizíá dhá bhliain agus [fiche] d'aois nuair a tháinig sé chun corónach agus bhí sé bliain i réim in Iarúsailéim. Atailiá iníon Omraí ab ainm dá mháthair.
2 Cuando Ochôzías comenzó á reinar era de cuarenta y dos años, y reinó un año en Jerusalem. El nombre de su madre fué Athalía, hija de Omri.
2 Zweiundzwanzig Jahre alt war Ahasja, da er König ward, und regierte ein Jahr zu Jerusalem. Seine Mutter hieß Athalja, die Tochter Omris.
3 He went in the ways of the family of Ahab, for his mother was his teacher in evil-doing.
3 Il marcha dans les voies de la maison d'Achab, car sa mère lui donnait des conseils impies.
3 Lean seisean chomh maith sampla theaghlach Acháb, mar gur thug a mháthair drochchomhairle dó.
3 También él anduvo en los caminos de la casa de Achâb: porque su madre le aconsejaba á obrar impíamente.
3 Und er wandelte auch in den Wegen des Hauses Ahab; denn sein Mutter hielt ihn dazu, daß er gottlos war.
4 And he did evil in the eyes of the Lord, as the family of Ahab did; for after the death of his father they were his guides to his destruction.
4 Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel, comme la maison d'Achab, où il eut après la mort de son père des conseillers pour sa perte.
4 Rinne sé an t‑olc i bhfianaise an Tiarna faoi mar a rinne teaghlach Acháb, mar tar éis bhás a athar ba iadsan a bhí mar chomhairleoirí aige, rud a raibh sé thíos leis.
4 Hizo pues lo malo en ojos de Jehová, como la casa de Achâb; porque después de la muerte de su padre, ellos le aconsejaron para su perdición.
4 Darum tat er, was dem HERRN übel gefiel, wie das Haus Ahab. Denn sie waren seine Ratgeber nach seines Vaters Tode, daß sie ihn verderbten.
5 Acting on their suggestion, he went with Jehoram, son of Ahab, king of Israel, to make war on Hazael, king of Aram, at Ramoth-gilead: and Joram was wounded by the bowmen.
5 Entraîné par leur conseil, il alla avec Joram, fils d'Achab, roi d'Israël, à la guerre contre Hazaël, roi de Syrie, à Ramoth en Galaad. Et les Syriens blessèrent Joram.
5 Ar a gcomhairlesean, ghabh sé amach le Iahórám mac Acháb le cogadh a chur ar Hazáéil rí Arám ag Rámot Gileád; ghoin na [hArámaigh] Iahórám,
5 Y él anduvo en los consejos de ellos, y fué á la guerra con Joram hijo de Achâb, rey de Israel, contra Hazael rey de Siria, á Ramoth de Galaad, donde los Siros hirieron á Joram.
5 Und er wandelte nach ihrem Rat. Und er zog hin mit Joram, dem Sohn Ahabs, dem König Israels, in den Streit gen Ramoth in Gilead wider Hasael, den König von Syrien. Aber die Syrer schlugen Joram,
6 And he went back to Jezreel to get well from the wounds which they had given him at Ramah when he was fighting against Hazael, king of Aram. And Ahaziah, the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to Jezreel to see Jehoram, the son of Ahab, because he was ill.
6 Joram s'en retourna pour se faire guérir à Jizreel des blessures que les Syriens lui avaient faites à Rama, lorsqu'il se battait contre Hazaël, roi de Syrie. Azaria, fils de Joram, roi de Juda, descendit pour voir Joram, fils d'Achab, à Jizreel, parce qu'il était malade.
6 agus d'fhill sé go Izréil le téarnamh ó na créachtaí a fuair sé i Rámá agus é ag troid in aghaidh Hazáéil rí Arám. Ghabh Achaizíá mac Iahórám rí Iúdá síos go Izréil ar thuairisc Iahórám mac Acháb mar go raibh sé tinn.
6 Y se volvió para curarse en Jezreel de las heridas que le habían hecho en Rama, peleando con Hazael rey de Siria. Y descendió Azarías hijo de Joram, rey de Judá, á visitar á Joram hijo de Achâb, en Jezreel, porque allí estaba enfermo.
6 daß er umkehrte, sich heilen zu lassen zu Jesreel; denn er hatte Wunden, die ihm geschlagen waren zu Rama, da er stritt mit Hasael, dem König von Syrien. Und Ahasja, der Sohn Jorams, der König Juda's, zog hinab, zu besuchen Joram, den Sohn Ahabs, zu Jesreel, der krank lag.
7 Now by the purpose of God, Ahaziah's journey to see Jehoram was the cause of his downfall: for when he came there, he went out with Jehoram against Jehu, the son of Nimshi, who had been marked out by the Lord for the destruction of the family of Ahab.
7 Par la volonté de Dieu, ce fut pour sa ruine qu'Achazia se rendit auprès de Joram. Lorsqu'il fut arrivé, il sortit avec Joram pour aller au-devant de Jéhu, fils de Nimschi, que l'Éternel avait oint pour exterminer la maison d'Achab.
7 Ba é toil an Tiarna é Achaizíá a scriosadh tríd an turas seo ar thuairisc Iahórám. Nuair a tháinig sé ansiúd chuaigh sé amach le Iahórám le bualadh le Iéahú mac Nimsí an té a bhí ungtha ag an Tiarna le teaghlach Acháb a scriosadh.
7 Esto empero venía de Dios, para que Ochôzías fuese hollado viniendo á Joram: porque siendo venido, salió con Joram contra Jehú hijo de Nimsi, al cual Jehová había ungido para que talase la casa de Achâb.
7 Denn es war von Gott Ahasja der Unfall zugefügt, daß er zu Joram käme und also mit Joram auszöge wider Jehu, den Sohn Nimsis, welchen der HERR gesalbt hatte, auszurotten das Haus Ahab.
8 Now when Jehu was effecting the punishment of the family of Ahab, he came to the princes of Judah and the sons of Ahaziah's brothers, the servants of Ahaziah, and put them to death.
8 Et comme Jéhu faisait justice de la maison d'Achab, il trouva les chefs de Juda et les fils des frères d'Achazia, qui étaient au service d'Achazia, et il les tua.
8 Agus Iéahú ag cur na daorbhreithe ar theaghlach Acháb i bhfeidhm, bhuail sé le flatha Iúdá agus le nianna Achaizíá a bhí i seirbhís an rí agus chuir chun báis iad.
8 Y fué que, haciendo juicio Jehú con la casa de Achâb, halló á los príncipes de Judá, y á los hijos de los hermanos de Ochôzías, que servían á Ochôzías, y matólos.
8 Da nun Jehu Strafe übte am Hause Ahab, fand er etliche Oberste aus Juda und die Kinder der Brüder Ahasjas, die Ahasja dienten, und erwürgte sie.
9 And he went in search of Ahaziah; and when they came where he was, (for he was in a secret place in Samaria,) they took him to Jehu and put him to death; then they put his body to rest in the earth, for they said, He is the son of Jehoshaphat, whose heart was true to the Lord. So the family of Ahaziah had no power to keep the kingdom.
9 Il chercha Achazia, et on le saisit dans Samarie, où il s'était caché. On l'amena auprès de Jéhu, et on le fit mourir. Puis ils l'enterrèrent, car ils disaient: C'est le fils de Josaphat, qui cherchait l'Éternel de tout son coeur. Et il ne resta personne de la maison d'Achazia qui fût en état de régner.
9 Ansin chuaigh sé sa tóir ar Achaizíá agus fuarthas é agus é i bhfolach sa tSamáir agus tugadh é go Iéahú agus cuireadh chun báis é. Ach rinneadar é a adhlacadh. “Ba mhac le Iahóiseáfát é,” ar siad, “a bhí ag lorg an Tiarna le lánchroí.” Coir agus Bás Atailiá Ní raibh aon duine fágtha i dteaghlach Achaizíá cumasach go leor le rialú.
9 Y buscando á Ochôzías, el cual se había escondido en Samaria, tomáronlo, y trajéronlo á Jehú, y le mataron; y diéronle sepultura, porque dijeron: Es hijo de Josaphat, el cual buscó á Jehová de todo su corazón. Y la casa de Ochôzías no tenía fuerzas para poder retener el reino.
9 Und er suchte Ahasja, und sie fingen ihn, da er sich versteckt hatte zu Samaria. Und er ward zu Jehu gebracht; der tötete ihn, und man begrub ihn. Denn sie sprachen: Er ist Josaphats Sohn, der nach dem HERRN trachtete von ganzem Herzen. Und es niemand mehr aus dem Hause Ahasja, der tüchtig war zum Königreich.
10 Now when Athaliah, the mother of Ahaziah, saw that her son was dead, she had all the rest of the seed of the kingdom of Judah put to death.
10 Athalie, mère d'Achazia, voyant que son fils était mort, se leva et fit périr toute la race royale de la maison de Juda.
10 Nuair a fuair Atailiá, máthair Achaizíá, amach go raibh a mac tar éis bháis, mharaigh sí an sliocht ríoga ar fad de theaghlach Iúdá ar an toirt.
10 Entonces Athalía madre de Ochôzías, viendo que su hijo era muerto, levantóse y destruyó toda la simiente real de la casa de Judá.
10 Da aber Athalja, die Mutter Ahasjas, sah, daß ihr Sohn tot war, machte sie sich auf und brachte um alle vom königlichen Geschlecht im Hause Juda.
11 But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, secretly took Joash, the son of Ahaziah, away from among the king's sons who were put to death, and put him and the woman who took care of him in a bedroom. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of King Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest and sister of Ahaziah, kept him safe from Athaliah, so that she did not put him to death.
11 Mais Joschabeath, fille du roi, prit Joas, fils d'Achazia, et l'enleva du milieu des fils du roi, quand on les fit mourir: elle le mit avec sa nourrice dans la chambre des lits. Ainsi Joschabeath, fille du roi Joram, femme du sacrificateur Jehojada, et soeur d'Achazia, le déroba aux regards d'Athalie, qui ne le fit point mourir.
11 Ach Iahóiseaba, iníon an rí, sciob sí léi Ióáis, mac Achaizíá, faoi rún ó lár na mac rí a bhí á marú; chuir sí é féin agus a bhanaltra i bhfolach i suanlios. Rinne Iahóiseaba, iníon an rí Iahórám, agus bean Iahóideá an sagart [deirfiúr do Achaizíá freisin] é a chur i bhfolach ó Atailiá, i dtreo nár mharaigh sí é.
11 Empero Josabeth, hija del rey, tomó á Joas hijo de Ochôzías, y arrebatólo de entre los hijos del rey, que mataban, y guardóle á él y á su ama en la cámara de los lechos. Así pues lo escondió Josabeth, hija del rey Joram, mujer de Joiada el sacerdote, (porque ella era hermana de Ochôzías), de delante de Athalía, y no lo mataron.
11 Aber Josabeath, die Königstochter, nahm Joas, den Sohn Ahasjas, und stahl ihn unter den Kindern des Königs, die getötet wurden, und tat ihn mit seiner Amme in die Bettkammer. Also verbarg ihn Josabeath, die Tochter des Königs Joram, des Priesters Jojada Weib (denn sie war Ahasjas Schwester), vor Athalja, daß er nicht getötet ward.
12 And she kept him safe with her in the house of God for six years, while Athaliah was ruling the land.
12 Il resta six ans caché avec eux dans la maison de Dieu. Et c'était Athalie qui régnait dans le pays.
