1 So Abijah went to rest with his fathers, and they put him into the earth in the town of David, and Asa his son became king in his place; in his time the land was quiet for ten years.
1 (13:23) Abija se coucha avec ses pères, et on l'enterra dans la ville de David. Et Asa, son fils, régna à sa place. De son temps, le pays fut en repos pendant dix ans.

1 Y Durmio Abías con sus padres, y fué sepultado en la ciudad de David. Y reinó en su lugar su hijo Asa, en cuyos días tuvo sosiego el país por diez años.
1 Und Abia entschlief mit seinen Vätern, und sie begruben ihn in der Stadt Davids. Und Asa, sein Sohn, war König an seiner Statt. Zu dessen Zeiten war das Land still zehn Jahre.
2 And Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God;
2 (14:1) Asa fit ce qui est bien et droit aux yeux de l'Éternel, son Dieu.

2 E hizo Asa lo bueno y lo recto en los ojos de Jehová su Dios.
2 Und Asa tat, was recht war und dem HERRN, seinem Gott, wohl gefiel,
3 For he took away the altars of strange gods and the high places, and had the upright stones broken and the wood pillars cut down;
3 (14:2) Il fit disparaître les autels de l'étranger et les hauts lieux, il brisa les statues et abattit les idoles.
3 Chuir sé deireadh leis na haltóirí deoranta agus leis na hardionaid, leag sé anuas na colúin agus ghearr anuas na cuaillí naofa,
3 Porque quitó los altares del culto ajeno, y los altos; quebró las imágenes, y taló los bosques;
3 und tat weg die fremden Altäre und die Höhen und zerbrach die Säulen und hieb die Ascherahbilder ab
4 And he made Judah go after the Lord, the God of their fathers, and keep his laws and his orders.
4 (14:3) Il ordonna à Juda de rechercher l'Éternel, le Dieu de ses pères, et de pratiquer la loi et les commandements.
4 agus d'áitigh sé ar Iúdá an Tiarna a nDia a thóraíocht agus idir dhlí agus aithne a chomhlíonadh.
4 Y mandó á Judá que buscasen á Jehová el Dios de sus padres, y pusiesen por obra la ley y sus mandamientos.
4 und ließ Juda sagen, daß sie den HERRN, den Gott ihrer Väter, suchten und täten nach dem Gesetz und Gebot.
5 And he took away the high places and the sun-images from all the towns of Judah; and the kingdom was quiet under his rule.
5 (14:4) Il fit disparaître de toutes les villes de Juda les hauts lieux et les statues consacrées au soleil. Et le royaume fut en repos devant lui.
5 Dhíbir sé na hardionaid agus na haltóirí túise as gach cathair in Iúdá. Bhí síocháin sa ríocht faoina réim.
5 Quitó asimismo de todas las ciudades de Judá los altos y las imágenes, y estuvo el reino quieto delante de él.
5 Und er tat weg aus allen Städten Juda's die Höhen und die Sonnensäulen; denn das Königreich war still vor ihm.
6 He made walled towns in Judah, for the land was quiet and there were no wars in those years, because the Lord had given him rest.
6 (14:5) Il bâtit des villes fortes en Juda; car le pays fut tranquille et il n'y eut pas de guerre contre lui pendant ces années-là, parce que l'Éternel lui donna du repos.
6 D'atóg sé cathracha daingne Iúdá, mar bhí an tír faoi shíocháin gan aon chogadh na blianta sin mar dheonaigh an Tiarna síocháin dó.
6 Y edificó ciudades fuertes en Judá, por cuanto había paz en la tierra, y no había guerra contra él en aquellos tiempos; porque Jehová le había dado reposo.
6 Und er baute feste Städte in Juda, weil das Land still und kein Streit wider ihn war in denselben Jahren; denn der HERR gab ihm Ruhe.
7 He said to Judah, Let us make these towns, building walls round them with towers and doors and locks. The land is still ours, because we have been true to the Lord our God; we have been true to him and he has given us rest on every side. So they went on building and all went well for them.
7 (14:6) Il dit à Juda: Bâtissons ces villes, et entourons-les de murs, de tours, de portes et de barres; le pays est encore devant nous, car nous avons recherché l'Éternel, notre Dieu, nous l'avons recherché, et il nous a donné du repos de tous côtés. Ils bâtirent donc, et réussirent.
7 “Déanaimis na cathracha seo a atógáil,” ar sé le Iúdá, “agus cuirimis ballaí agus túir, geataí agus sparraí, timpeall á gcosaint. Fágfar an tír seo fúinn mar lorgamar an Tiarna ár nDia; lorgamar é agus thug sé síocháin dúinn ar gach taobh.” Rinneadar an tógáil dá bhrí sin agus bhí an rath orthu.
7 Dijo por tanto á Judá: Edifiquemos estas ciudades, y cerquémoslas de muros con torres, puertas, y barras, ya que la tierra es nuestra: porque hemos buscado á Jehová nuestro Dios, hémosle buscado, y él nos ha dado reposo de todas partes. Edificaron pues, y fueron prosperados.
7 Und er sprach zu Juda: Laßt uns diese Städte bauen und Mauern darumher führen und Türme, Türen und Riegel, weil das Land noch offen vor uns ist; denn wir haben den HERRN, unsern Gott, gesucht, und er hat uns Ruhe gegeben umher. Also bauten sie, und es ging glücklich vonstatten.
8 And Asa had an army of three hundred thousand men of Judah armed with body-covers and spears, and two hundred and eighty thousand of Benjamin armed with body-covers and bows; all these were men of war.
8 (14:7) Asa avait une armée de trois cent mille hommes de Juda, portant le bouclier et la lance, et de deux cent quatre-vingt mille de Benjamin, portant le bouclier et tirant de l'arc, tous vaillants hommes.
8 Bhí arm de thrí chéad míle fear ó Iúdá le sciatha agus gathanna ag Ásá; agus dhá chéad ochtó míle fear ó Bhiniáimin a d'iompair sciath agus a láimhseáil bogha; gaiscígh thréana iadsan go léir. Ionsaí Zearach
8 Tuvo también Asa ejército que traía escudos y lanzas: de Judá trescientos mil, y de Benjamín doscientos y ochenta mil que traían escudos y flechaban arcos; todos hombres diestros.
8 Und Asa hatte eine Heereskraft, die Schild und Spieß trugen, aus Juda dreihunderttausend und aus Benjamin, die Schilde trugen und mit dem Bogen schießen konnten zweihundertachtzigtausend; und diese waren starke Helden.
9 And Zerah the Ethiopian, with an army of a million, and three hundred war-carriages, came out against them to Mareshah.
9 (14:8) Zérach, l'Éthiopien, sortit contre eux avec une armée d'un million d'hommes et trois cents chars, et il s'avança jusqu'à Maréscha.
9 Tháinig Zearach an Cúiseach le harm milliún fear agus trí chéad carbad amach ina gcoinne agus tháinig sé chomh fada le Máraeiseá.
9 Y salió contra ellos Zera Etiope con un ejército de mil millares, y trescientos carros; y vino hasta Maresa.
9 Es zog aber wider sie aus Serah, der Mohr, mit einer Heereskraft tausendmaltausend, dazu dreihundert Wagen, und sie kamen bis gen Maresa.
10 And Asa went out against him, and they put their forces in position in the valley north of Mareshah.
10 (14:9) Asa marcha au-devant de lui, et ils se rangèrent en bataille dans la vallée de Tsephata, près de Maréscha.
10 Chuaigh Ásá amach ina gcoinne agus chuir cóiriú catha ar a shluaite i nGleann Zafátá ag Máraeiseá.
10 Entonces salió Asa contra él, y ordenaron la batalla en el valle de Sephata junto á Maresa.
10 Und Asa zog aus ihnen entgegen; und sie rüsteten sich zum Streit im Tal Zephatha bei Maresa.
11 And Asa made prayer to the Lord his God and said, Lord, you only are able to give help against the strong to him who has no strength; come to our help, O Lord our God, for our hope is in you, and in your name we have come out against this great army. O Lord, you are our God; let not man's power be greater than yours.
11 (14:10) Asa invoqua l'Éternel, son Dieu, et dit: Éternel, toi seul peux venir en aide au faible comme au fort: viens à notre aide, Éternel, notre Dieu! car c'est sur toi que nous nous appuyons, et nous sommes venus en ton nom contre cette multitude. Éternel, tu es notre Dieu: que ce ne soit pas l'homme qui l'emporte sur toi!
11 Ghlaoigh Ásá chun an Tiarna a Dhia: “A Thiarna,” ar sé, “ní féidir le haon duine ach tusa seasamh leis an lag in aghaidh an láidir. Cabhraigh linn, a Thiarna ár nDia, mar tá muinín againn asat, agus is i d'ainmse atáimid ag dul in aghaidh an tslua seo. A Thiarna, is tú ár nDia; fágadh an duine gach ní fútsa.”
11 Y clamó Asa á Jehová su Dios, y dijo: Jehová, no tienes tú más con el grande que con el que ninguna fuerza tiene, para dar ayuda. Ayúdanos, oh Jehová Dios nuestro, porque en ti nos apoyamos, y en tu nombre venimos contra este ejército. Oh Jehová, tú eres nuestro Dios: no prevalezca contra ti el hombre.
11 Und Asa rief an den HERRN, seinen Gott, und sprach: HERR, es ist bei dir kein Unterschied, zu helfen unter vielen oder da keine Kraft ist. Hilf uns, HERR, unser Gott; denn wir verlassen uns auf dich, und in deinem Namen sind wir gekommen wider diese Menge. HERR, unser Gott, wider dich vermag kein Mensch etwas.
12 So the Lord sent fear on the Ethiopians before Asa and Judah; and the Ethiopians went in flight.
12 (14:11) L'Éternel frappa les Éthiopiens devant Asa et devant Juda, et les Éthiopiens prirent la fuite.
12 Bhris an Tiarna ar na Cúisigh roimh Ásá agus Iúdá, agus theith na Cúisigh.
12 Y Jehová deshizo los Etiopes delante de Asa y delante de Judá; y huyeron los Etiopes.
12 Und der HERR schlug die Mohren vor Asa und vor Juda, daß sie flohen.
13 And Asa and the people who were with him went after them as far as Gerar; and so great was the destruction among the Ethiopians that they were not able to get their army together again, for they were broken before the Lord and before his army; and they took away a great amount of their goods.
13 (14:12) Asa et le peuple qui était avec lui les poursuivirent jusqu'à Guérar, et les Éthiopiens tombèrent sans pouvoir sauver leur vie, car ils furent détruits par l'Éternel et par son armée. Asa et son peuple firent un très grand butin;
13 Chuir Ásá agus a lucht leanúna tóir orthu chomh fada le Gearár. Thit na Cúisigh ar lár i dtreo nár fágadh fear inste scéil mar treascraíodh iad roimh an Tiarna agus a shlua. Chruinníodar a lán creiche,
13 Y Asa, y el pueblo que con él estaba, lo siguió hasta Gerar: y cayeron los Etiopes hasta no quedar en ellos aliento; porque fueron deshechos delante de Jehová y de su ejército. Y les tomaron muy grande despojo.
13 Und Asa samt dem Volk, das bei ihm war, jagte ihnen nach bis gen Gerar. Und die Mohren fielen, daß ihrer keiner lebendig blieb; sondern sie wurden geschlagen vor dem HERRN und vor seinem Heerlager. Und sie trugen sehr viel Raub davon.
14 And they overcame all the towns round Gerar, because the Lord sent fear on them; and they took away their goods from the towns, for there were stores of wealth in them.
14 (14:13) ils frappèrent toutes les villes des environs de Guérar, car la terreur de l'Éternel s'était emparée d'elles, et ils pillèrent toutes les villes, dont les dépouilles furent considérables.
14 agus chloíodar na cathracha go léir timpeall ar Ghearár mar bhí eagla an Tiarna orthusan. Chreach siad iad go léir mar bhí a lán éadála iontu.
14 Batieron también todas las ciudades alrededor de Gerar, porque el terror de Jehová fué sobre ellos: y saquearon todas las ciudades, porque había en ellas gran despojo.
14 Und er schlug alle Städte um Gerar her; denn die Furcht des HERRN kam über sie. Und sie beraubten alle Städte; denn es war viel Raub darin.
15 And they made an attack on the tents of the owners of the cattle, and took away great numbers of sheep and camels and went back to Jerusalem.
15 (14:14) Ils frappèrent aussi les tentes des troupeaux, et ils emmenèrent une grande quantité de brebis et de chameaux. Puis ils retournèrent à Jérusalem.
