1 Now the Philistines were fighting against Israel; and the men of Israel went in flight before the Philistines, falling down wounded in Mount Gilboa.
1 Les Philistins livrèrent bataille à Israël, et les hommes d'Israël prirent la fuite devant les Philistins et tombèrent morts sur la montagne de Guilboa.
1 Chuir na Filistínigh cogadh ar Iosrael; theith fir Iosrael ó na Filistínigh agus rinneadh ár orthu ar Shliabh Ghiolboa.
1 Los Filisteos pelearon con Israel; y huyeron delante de ellos los Israelitas, y cayeron heridos en el monte de Gilboa.
1 Die Philister stritten wider Israel. Und die von Israel flohen vor den Philistern und fielen erschlagen auf dem Gebirge Gilboa.
2 And the Philistines went hard after Saul and his sons, and put to death Jonathan and Abinadab and Malchi-shua, the sons of Saul.
2 Les Philistins poursuivirent Saül et ses fils, et tuèrent Jonathan, Abinadab et Malki Schua, fils de Saül.
2 Lean na Filistínigh go dian sna sála ar Shól agus a mhic agus mharaigh siad Iónátán, Aibíonádáb agus Mailcíosú, mic Shóil.
2 Y los Filisteos siguieron á Saúl y á sus hijos; y mataron los Filisteos á Jonathán, y á Abinadab, y á Malchîsua, hijos de Saúl.
2 Aber die Philister hingen sich an Saul und seine Söhne hinter ihnen her und erschlugen Jonathan, Abinadab und Malchisua, die Söhne Sauls.
3 And the fight was going against Saul, and the archers came across him, and he was wounded by the archers.
3 L'effort du combat porta sur Saül; les archers l'atteignirent et le blessèrent.
3 Cuireadh an cath go crua ar Shól, fuair na saigheadóirí faill air agus thit sé faoi ghona na saigheadoirí.
3 Y agravóse la batalla sobre Saúl, y le alcanzaron los flecheros, y fué de los flecheros herido.
3 Und des Streit ward hart wider Saul; und die Bogenschützen kamen an ihn, daß er von den Schützen verwundet ward.
4 Then Saul said to the servant who had the care of his arms, Take your sword and put it through me, before these men without circumcision come and make sport of me. But his servant, full of fear, would not do so. Then Saul took out his sword, falling on it himself.
4 Saül dit alors à celui qui portait ses armes: Tire ton épée, et transperce-m'en, de peur que ces incirconcis ne viennent me faire subir leurs outrages. Celui qui portait ses armes ne voulut pas, car il était saisi de crainte. Et Saül prit son épée, et se jeta dessus.
4 Ansin dúirt Sól lena ghiolla airm: “Nocht do chlaíomh agus sáigh tríom é le heagla go dtiocfadh an dream úd gan timpeallghearradh agus bheith ag fonóid fúm.” Ach bhí eagla ar a ghiolla airm agus ní dhéanfadh sé é. Thóg Sól a chlaíomh dá bhrí sin agus chaith sé é féin air.
4 Entonces dijo Saúl á su escudero: Saca tu espada, y pásame con ella, porque no vengan estos incircuncisos, y hagan escarnio de mí; mas su escudero no quiso, porque tenía gran miedo. Entonces Saúl tomó la espada, y echóse sobre ella.
4 Da sprach Saul zu seinem Waffenträger: Zieh dein Schwert aus und erstich mich damit, daß diese Unbeschnittenen nicht kommen und schändlich mit mir umgehen! Aber sein Waffenträger wollte nicht; denn er fürchtete sich sehr. Da nahm Saul sein Schwert und fiel hinein.
5 And when his servant saw that Saul was dead, he did the same, and came to his death.
5 Celui qui portait les armes de Saül, le voyant mort, se jeta aussi sur son épée, et mourut.
5 Nuair a chonaic a ghiolla airm go raibh Sól marbh, chaith sé é féin ar a chlaíomh chomh maith agus fuair sé bás in éineacht leis.
5 Y como su escudero vió á Saúl muerto, él también se echó sobre su espada, y matóse.
5 Da aber sein Waffenträger sah, daß er tot war, fiel er auch ins Schwert und starb.
6 So death overtook Saul and his three sons; all his family came to an end together.
6 Ainsi périrent Saül et ses trois fils, et toute sa maison périt en même temps.
6 D'éag Sól dá réir sin, é féin agus a thriúr mac agus a ghiolla airm agus a theaghlach go léir in éineacht.
6 Así murió Saúl, y sus tres hijos; y toda su casa murió juntamente con él.
6 Also starb Saul und seine drei Söhne und sein ganzes Haus zugleich.
7 And when all the men of Israel who were in the valley saw that the men of Israel had gone in flight and that Saul and his sons were dead, they went in flight away from their towns; and the Philistines came and took them for themselves.
7 Tous ceux d'Israël qui étaient dans la vallée, ayant vu qu'on avait fui et que Saül et ses fils étaient morts, abandonnèrent leurs villes pour prendre aussi la fuite. Et les Philistins allèrent s'y établir.
7 Nuair a chonaic muintir Iosrael go léir a bhí sa ghleann gur theith [an t‑arm] agus gur maraíodh Sól agus a chlann mhac, d'fhágadar a gcathracha agus theitheadar. Tháinig na Filistínigh ansin agus ghabhadar seilbh orthu.
7 Y viendo todos los de Israel que habitaban en el valle, que habían huído, y que Saúl y sus hijos eran muertos, dejaron sus ciudades, y huyeron: y vinieron los Filisteos, y habitaron en ellas.
7 Da aber die Männer Israels, die im Grunde wohnten, sahen, daß sie geflohen waren und daß Saul und seine Söhne tot waren, verließen sie ihre Städte und flohen, und die Philister kamen und wohnten darin.
8 Now the day after, when the Philistines came to take their goods from the dead, they saw Saul and his sons dead in Mount Gilboa.
8 Le lendemain, les Philistins vinrent pour dépouiller les morts, et ils trouvèrent Saül et ses fils tombés sur la montagne de Guilboa.
8 Nuair a tháinig na Filistínigh lá arna mhárach chun na mairbh a lomadh, fuaireadar Sól agus a chlann mhac ar lár ar Shliabh Ghiolboa.
8 Y fué que viniendo el día siguiente los Filisteos á despojar los muertos, hallaron á Saúl y á sus hijos tendidos en el monte de Gilboa.
8 Des andern Morgens kamen die Philister, die Erschlagenen auszuziehen, und fanden Saul und seine Söhne liegen auf dem Gebirge Gilboa
9 And they took everything off him, and took his head and his war-dress, and sent word into the land of the Philistines round about to give the news to their gods and to the people.
9 Ils le dépouillèrent, et emportèrent sa tête et ses armes. Puis ils firent annoncer ces bonnes nouvelles par tout le pays des Philistins à leurs idoles et au peuple.
9 Lomadar é agus rugadar a cheann agus a éide chatha leo agus sheoladar teachtairí ar fud tír na bhFilistíneach chun an dea-scéala a thabhairt dá n‑íola agus dá bpobal.
9 Y luego que le hubieron desnudado, tomaron su cabeza y sus armas, y enviáronlo todo á la tierra de los Filisteos por todas partes, para que fuese denunciado á sus ídolos y al pueblo.
9 und zogen ihn aus und hoben auf sein Haupt und seine Waffen und sandten's ins Land der Philister umher und ließen's verkündigen vor ihren Götzen und dem Volk
10 And they put his war-dress in the house of their gods, and put up his head in the house of Dagon.
10 Ils mirent les armes de Saül dans la maison de leur dieu, et ils attachèrent son crâne dans le temple de Dagon.
10 Chuireadar a éide chatha i dteampall a ndé, agus thairneáil siad a cheann in airde i dteampall Dhágón.
10 Y pusieron sus armas en el templo de su dios, y colgaron la cabeza en el templo de Dagón.
10 und legten seine Waffen ins Haus ihres Gottes, und seinen Schädel hefteten sie ans Haus Dagons.
11 And when the news came to Jabesh-gilead of what the Philistines had done to Saul,
11 Tout Jabès en Galaad ayant appris tout ce que les Philistins avaient fait à Saül,
11 Nuair a chuala [lucht áitrithe] Ghileád go léir cad a rinne na Filistínigh le Sól,
11 Y oyendo todos los de Jabes de Galaad lo que los Filisteos habían hecho de Saúl,
11 Da aber alle die zu Jabes in Gilead hörten alles, was die Philister Saul getan hatten,
12 All the fighting-men came up and took away Saul's body and the bodies of his sons, and took them to Jabesh, and put their bones to rest under the oak-tree in Jabesh, and took no food for seven days.
12 tous les hommes vaillants se levèrent, prirent le corps de Saül et ceux de ses fils, et les transportèrent à Jabès. Ils enterrèrent leur os sous le térébinthe, à Jabès, et ils jeûnèrent sept jours.
12 chuir na gaiscígh go léir chun bealaigh, agus rugadar leo coirp Shóil agus a mhac, agus thugadar go Iáibéis iad, agus chuireadar a gcnámha faoin gcrann tamaraisce i Iáibéis, agus rinne siad troscadh ar feadh seacht lá.
12 Levantáronse todos los hombres valientes, y tomaron el cuerpo de Saúl, y los cuerpos de sus hijos, y trajéronlos á Jabes; y enterraron sus huesos debajo del alcornoque en Jabes, y ayunaron siete días.
12 machten sie sich auf, alle streitbaren Männer, und nahmen die Leichname Sauls und seiner Söhne und brachten sie gen Jabes und begruben ihre Gebeine unter der Eiche zu Jabes und fasteten sieben Tage.
13 So death came to Saul because of the sin which he did against the Lord, that is, because of the word of the Lord which he kept not; and because he went for directions to one who had an evil spirit,
13 Saül mourut, parce qu'il se rendit coupable d'infidélité envers l'Éternel, dont il n'observa point la parole, et parce qu'il interrogea et consulta ceux qui évoquent les morts.
13 Cailleadh Sól mar sin de bharr a mhídhílseachta; ní raibh sé dílis don Tiarna mar nár chomhlíon sé a aithne, agus go ndeachaigh sé i gcomhairle le bean feasa ag lorg treorach uaithi
13 Así murió Saúl por su rebelión con que prevaricó contra Jehová, contra la palabra de Jehová, la cual no guardó; y porque consultó al pythón, preguntándo le,
13 Also starb Saul an seiner Missetat, die er wider den HERRN getan hatte an dem Wort des HERRN, das er nicht hielt; auch daß er die Wahrsagerin fragte
14 And not to the Lord: for this reason, he put him to death and gave the kingdom to David, the son of Jesse.
14 Il ne consulta point l'Éternel; alors l'Éternel le fit mourir, et transféra la royauté à David, fils d'Isaï.
