1 Now in the ninth year of his rule, on the tenth day of the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, came against Jerusalem with all his army and took up his position before it, building earthworks all round the town.

1 Y Acontecio á los nueve años de su reinado, en el mes décimo, á los diez del mes, que Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia vino con todo su ejército contra Jerusalem, y cercóla; y levantaron contra ella ingenios alrededor.
1 Und es begab sich im neunten Jahr seines Königreichs, am zehnten Tag des zehnten Monats, kam Nebukadnezar, der König zu Babel, mit aller seiner Macht wider Jerusalem; und sie lagerten sich dawider und bauten Bollwerke darum her.
2 And the town was shut in by their forces till the eleventh year of King Zedekiah.

3 Now on the ninth day of the fourth month, the store of food in the town was almost gone, so that there was no food for the people of the land.
3 Le neuvième jour du mois, la famine était forte dans la ville, et il n'y avait pas de pain pour le peuple du pays.

4 So an opening was made in the wall of the town, and all the men of war went in flight by night through the doorway between the two walls which was by the king's garden; (now the Chaldaeans were stationed round the town:) and the king went by the way of the Arabah.
4 Alors la brèche fut faite à la ville; et tous les gens de guerre s'enfuirent de nuit par le chemin de la porte entre les deux murs près du jardin du roi, pendant que les Chaldéens environnaient la ville. Les fuyards prirent le chemin de la plaine.

4 Abierta ya la ciudad, huyeron de noche todos los hombres de guerra por el camino de la puerta que estaba entre los dos muros, junto á los huertos del rey, estando los Caldeos alrededor de la ciudad; y el rey se fué camino de la campiña.
4 Da brach man in die Stadt; und alle Kriegsmänner flohen bei der Nacht auf dem Wege durch das Tor zwischen zwei Mauern, der zu des Königs Garten geht. Aber die Chaldäer lagen um die Stadt. Und er floh des Weges zum blachen Felde.
5 But the Chaldaean army went after the king, and overtook him in the lowlands of Jericho, and all his army went in flight from him in every direction.
5 Mais l'armée des Chaldéens poursuivit le roi et l'atteignit dans les plaines de Jéricho, et toute son armée se dispersa loin de lui.

6 And they made the king a prisoner and took him up to the king of Babylon at Riblah to be judged.
6 Ils saisirent le roi, et le firent monter vers le roi de Babylone à Ribla; et l'on prononça contre lui une sentence.

7 And they put the sons of Zedekiah to death before his eyes, and then they put out his eyes, and chaining him with iron bands, took him to Babylon.

8 Now in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, in the nineteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, Nebuzaradan, the captain of the armed men, a servant of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem;
8 Le septième jour du cinquième mois, -c'était la dix-neuvième année du règne de Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, -Nebuzaradan, chef des gardes, serviteur du roi de Babylone, entra dans Jérusalem.

9 And he had the house of the Lord and the king's house and all the houses of Jerusalem, even every great house, burned with fire;

10 And the walls round Jerusalem were broken down by the Chaldaean army which was with the captain.

11 And the rest of the people who were still in the town, and all those who had given themselves up to the king of Babylon, and all the rest of the workmen, Nebuzaradan, the captain of the armed men, took away as prisoners;
11 Nebuzaradan, chef des gardes, emmena captifs ceux du peuple qui étaient demeurés dans la ville, ceux qui s'étaient rendus au roi de Babylone, et le reste de la multitude.

12 But he let the poorest of the land go on living there, to take care of the vines and the fields.

13 And the brass pillars in the house of the Lord, and the wheeled bases, and the great brass water-vessel in the house of the Lord, were broken up by the Chaldaeans, who took the brass to Babylon.
13 Les Chaldéens brisèrent les colonnes d'airain qui étaient dans la maison de l'Éternel, les bases, la mer d'airain qui était dans la maison de l'Éternel, et ils en emportèrent l'airain à Babylone.

14 And the pots and the spades and the scissors for the lights and the spoons, and all the brass vessels used in the Lord's house, they took away.
14 Ils prirent les cendriers, les pelles, les couteaux, les tasses, et tous les ustensiles d'airain avec lesquels on faisait le service.

15 And the fire-trays and the basins; the gold of the gold vessels and the silver of the silver vessels, were all taken away by the captain of the armed men.

17 One of the pillars was eighteen cubits high, with a crown of brass on it; the crown was three cubits high, circled with a network and apples all of brass; and the second pillar had the same.
17 La hauteur d'une colonne était de dix-huit coudées, et il y avait au-dessus un chapiteau d'airain dont la hauteur était de trois coudées; autour du chapiteau il y avait un treillis et des grenades, le tout d'airain; il en était de même pour la seconde colonne avec le treillis.

18 And the captain of the armed men took Seraiah, the chief priest, and Zephaniah, the second priest, and the three door-keepers;

19 And from the town he took the unsexed servant who was over the men of war, and five of the king's near friends who were in the town, and the scribe of the captain of the army, who was responsible for getting the people of the land together in military order, and sixty men of the people of the land who were in the town.
19 Et dans la ville il prit un eunuque qui avait sous son commandement les gens de guerre, cinq hommes qui faisaient partie des conseillers du roi et qui furent trouvés dans la ville, le secrétaire du chef de l'armée qui était chargé d'enrôler le peuple du pays, et soixante hommes du peuple du pays qui se trouvèrent dans la ville.

19 Y de la ciudad tomó un eunuco, el cual era maestre de campo, y cinco varones de los continuos del rey, que se hallaron en la ciudad; y al principal escriba del ejército, que hacía la reseña de la gente del país; y sesenta varones del pueblo de la tierra, que se hallaron en la ciudad.
19 und einen Kämmerer aus der Stadt, der gesetzt war über die Kriegsmänner, und fünf Männer, die stets vor dem König waren, die in der Stadt gefunden wurden, und den Schreiber des Feldhauptmanns, der das Volk im Lande zum Heer aufbot, und sechzig Mann vom Volk auf dem Lande, die in der Stadt gefunden wurden;
20 These Nebuzaradan, the captain of the armed men, took with him to the king of Babylon at Riblah.
20 Nebuzaradan, chef des gardes, les prit, et les conduisit vers le roi de Babylone à Ribla.

21 And the king of Babylon put them to death at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was taken away prisoner from his land.
21 Le roi de Babylone les frappa et les fit mourir à Ribla, dans le pays de Hamath.

22 As for the people who were still living in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, did not take away, he made Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, ruler over them.
22 Ainsi Juda fut emmené captif loin de son pays. Et Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, plaça le reste du peuple, qu'il laissa dans le pays de Juda, sous le commandement de Guedalia, fils d'Achikam, fils de Schaphan.

22 Aber über das übrige Volk im Lande Juda, das Nebukadnezar, der König von Babel, übrigließ, setzte er Gedalja, den Sohn Ahikams, des Sohnes Saphans.
23 Now the captains of the armed forces, hearing that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah ruler, came with their men to Gedaliah at Mizpah; Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and Seraiah, the son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah, the son of the Maacathite, came with all their men.
23 Lorsque tous les chefs des troupes eurent appris, eux et leurs hommes, que le roi de Babylone avait établi Guedalia pour gouverneur, ils se rendirent auprès de Guedalia à Mitspa, savoir Ismaël, fils de Nethania, Jochanan, fils de Karéach, Seraja, fils de Thanhumeth, de Nethopha, et Jaazania, fils du Maacathien, eux et leurs hommes.
23 Nuair a chuala ceannairí na ndíormaí [faoin tuath] agus a gcuid fear gur cheap rí na Bablóine Gadailiá mar rialtóir, tháinig siad lena gcuid fear chuige i Mizpeá - .i. Ísmeáéil mac Natainiá, Ióchánán mac Cháiréach, agus Saráiá mac Thanchuimit an Natofátach, agus Iázainiá mac an Mhácátaigh.
23 Y oyendo todos los príncipes del ejército, ellos y su gente, que el rey de Babilonia había puesto por gobernador á Gedalías, viniéronse á él en Mizpa, es á saber, Ismael hijo de Nathanías, y Johanán hijo de Carea, y Saraía hijo de Tanhumet Netofatita, y Jaazanías hijo de Maachâti, ellos con los suyos.
23 Da nun alle Hauptleute des Kriegsvolks und die Männer hörten, daß der König von Babel Gedalja eingesetzt hatte, kamen sie zu Gedalja gen Mizpa, nämlich Ismael, der Sohn Nethanjas, und Johanan, der Sohn Kareahs, und Seraja, der Sohn Thanhumeths, der Netophathiter, und Jaasanja, der Sohn des Maachathiters, samt ihren Männern.
24 Then Gedaliah gave his oath to them and their men, saying, Have no fear because of the servants of the Chaldaeans; go on living in the land under the rule of the king of Babylon, and all will be well.
24 Guedalia leur jura, à eux et à leurs hommes, et leur dit: Ne craignez rien de la part des serviteurs des Chaldéens; demeurez dans le pays, servez le roi de Babylone, et vous vous en trouverez bien.
24 Thug Gadailiá mionn dóibhsean agus dá gcuid fear á rá: “Ná bíodh eagla oraibh roimh na Caildéigh; cuirigí fúibh sa tír, agus déanaigí seirbhís do rí na Bablóine; agus rithfidh libh go seoidh.”

25 But in the seventh month, Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the king's seed, came with ten men and made an attack on Gedaliah, causing his death and the death of the Jews and the Chaldaeans who were with him at Mizpah.
25 Mais au septième mois, Ismaël, fils de Nethania, fils d'Élischama, de la race royale, vint, accompagné de dix hommes, et ils frappèrent mortellement Guedalia, ainsi que les Juifs et les Chaldéens qui étaient avec lui à Mitspa.

26 Then all the people, small and great, and the captains of the forces, got up and went away to Egypt, for fear of the Chaldaeans.
26 Alors tout le peuple, depuis le plus petit jusqu'au plus grand, et les chefs des troupes, se levèrent et s'en allèrent en Égypte, parce qu'ils avaient peur des Chaldéens.

27 And in the thirty-seventh year after Jehoiachin, king of Judah, had been taken prisoner, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, Evil-merodach, king of Babylon, in the first year of his rule, took Jehoiachin, king of Judah, out of prison;
27 La trente-septième année de la captivité de Jojakin, roi de Juda, le vingt-septième jour du douzième mois, Évil Merodac, roi de Babylone, dans la première année de son règne, releva la tête de Jojakin, roi de Juda, et le tira de prison.
