1 Josiah was eight years old when he became king; and he was ruling in Jerusalem for thirty-one years; his mother's name was Jedidah, daughter of Adaiah of Bozkath.
1 Josias avait huit ans lorsqu'il devint roi, et il régna trente et un ans à Jérusalem. Sa mère s'appelait Jedida, fille d'Adaja, de Botskath.
1 Bhí Ióisíá ocht mbliana d'aois nuair a tháinig sé i gcoróin, agus bhí sé bliain agus tríocha i réim in Iarúsailéim. Idídeá, iníon Adáiá ó Bhozcat, ab ainm dá mháthair.
1 Cuando Josías comenzó á reinar era de ocho años, y reinó en Jerusalem treinta y un años. El nombre de su madre fué Idida hija de Adaía de Boscath.
1 Josia war acht Jahre alt, da er König ward, und regierte einunddreißig Jahre zu Jerusalem. Seine Mutter hieß Jedida, eine Tochter Adajas, von Bozkath.
2 He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, walking in the ways of David his father, without turning to the right hand or to the left.
2 Il fit ce qui est droit aux yeux de l'Éternel, et il marcha dans toute la voie de David, son père; il ne s'en détourna ni à droite ni à gauche.
2 Rinne sé an ceart i bhfianaise an Tiarna agus rinne sé aithris ar a shinsear Dáiví, gan fiaradh ar dheis ná ar chlé.
2 E hizo lo recto en ojos de Jehová, y anduvo en todo el camino de David su padre, sin apartarse á diestra ni á siniestra.
2 Und er tat was dem HERRN wohl gefiel, und wandelte in allem Wege seines Vaters David und wich nicht, weder zur Rechten noch zur Linken.
3 Now in the eighteenth year after he became king, Josiah sent Shaphan, the son of Azaliah, the son of Meshullam, the scribe, to the house of the Lord, saying to him,
3 La dix-huitième année du roi Josias, le roi envoya dans la maison de l'Éternel Schaphan, le secrétaire, fils d'Atsalia, fils de Meschullam.
3 San ochtú bliain déag de réimeas Ióisíá rí chuir an rí Seáfán mac Azailiá mac Mheisiulám, an rúnaí, go Teampall an Tiarna.
3 Y á los dieciocho años del rey Josías, fué que envió el rey á Saphán hijo de Azalía, hijo de Mesullam, escriba, á la casa de Jehová, diciendo:
3 Und im achtzehnten Jahr des Königs Josia sandte der König hin Saphan, den Sohn Azaljas, des Sohnes Mesullams, den Schreiber, in das Haus des HERRN und sprach:
4 Go up to Hilkiah, the chief priest, and let him give out the money which is taken into the house of the Lord, which the keepers of the door have got together from the people;
4 Il lui dit: Monte vers Hilkija, le souverain sacrificateur, et qu'il amasse l'argent qui a été apporté dans la maison de l'Éternel et que ceux qui ont la garde du seuil ont recueilli du peuple.
4 “Téigh go Hilcíá, an t‑ardsagart,” ar sé leis, “agus abair leis an t‑airgead a tugadh go Teampall an Tiarna, agus é siúd a chruinnigh gardaí na tairsí ón bpobal, [a leá].
4 Ve á Hilcías, sumo sacerdote: dile que recoja el dinero que se ha metido en la casa de Jehová, que han juntado del pueblo los guardianes de la puerta,
4 Gehe hinauf zu dem Hohenpriester Hilkia, daß er abgebe alles Geld, das zum Hause des HERRN gebracht ist, das die Türhüter gesammelt haben vom Volk,
5 And let it be given to the overseers of the work of the Lord's house, to give to the workmen who are making good what was damaged in the house of the Lord;
5 On remettra cet argent entre les mains de ceux qui sont chargés de faire exécuter l'ouvrage dans la maison de l'Éternel. Et ils l'emploieront pour ceux qui travaillent aux réparations de la maison de l'Éternel,
5 Tugtar ansin é do shaoistí na n‑oibreacha a bhaineann le Teampall an Tiarna le go gcaithfidís é ar an lucht oibre atá i mbun Teampall an Tiarna a dheisiú,
5 Y que lo pongan en manos de los que hacen la obra, que tienen cargo de la casa de Jehová, y que lo entreguen á los que hacen la obra de la casa de Jehová, para reparar las aberturas de la casa:
5 daß man es gebe den Werkmeistern, die bestellt sind im Hause des HERRN, und sie es geben den Arbeitern am Hause des HERRN, daß sie bessern, was baufällig ist am Hause,
6 To the woodworkers and the builders and the stone-cutters; and for getting wood and cut stones for the building up of the house.
6 pour les charpentiers, les manoeuvres et les maçons, pour les achats de bois et de pierres de taille nécessaires aux réparations de la maison.
6 ar na siúinéirí, is é sin, agus ar na tógálaithe, agus ar na saoir, agus chomh maith ar adhmad agus cloch ghearrtha a cheannach do dheisiú an Teampaill.
6 A los carpinteros, á los maestros y albañiles, para comprar madera y piedra de cantería para reparar la casa;
6 nämlich den Zimmerleuten und Bauleuten und Maurern und denen, die da Holz und gehauene Steine kaufen sollen, das Haus zu bessern;
7 They did not have to give any account of the money which was handed to them, for they made use of it with good faith.
7 Mais on ne leur demandera pas de compte pour l'argent remis entre leurs mains, car ils agissent avec probité.
7 Ach ní iarrfar orthu cuntas a thabhairt ar an airgead a thabharfar dóibh, mar tá siad ionraic ó bheart.”
7 Y que no se les cuente el dinero cuyo manejo se les confiare, porque ellos proceden con fidelidad.
7 doch daß man keine Rechnung von ihnen nehme von dem Geld, das unter ihre Hand getan wird, sondern daß sie auf Glauben handeln.
8 Then Hilkiah, the chief priest, said to Shaphan the scribe, I have made discovery of the book of the law in the house of the Lord. So Hilkiah gave it to Shaphan;
8 Alors Hilkija, le souverain sacrificateur, dit à Schaphan, le secrétaire: J'ai trouvé le livre de la loi dans la maison de l'Éternel. Et Hilkija donna le livre à Schaphan, et Schaphan le lut.
8 Dúirt Hilcíá, an t‑ardsagart, le Seáfán, an rúnaí: “Fuair mé leabhar an dlí i dTeampall an Tiarna.” Agus thug Hilcíá an leabhar do Sheáfán agus léigh seisean é.
8 Entonces dijo el sumo sacerdote Hilcías á Saphán escriba: El libro de la ley he hallado en la casa de Jehová. E Hilcías dió el libro á Saphán, y leyólo.
8 Und der Hohepriester Hilkia sprach zu dem Schreiber Saphan: Ich habe das Gesetzbuch gefunden im Hause des HERRN. Und Hilkia gab das Buch Saphan, daß er's läse.
9 Then, after reading it, Shaphan the scribe went in to the king and gave him an account of what had been done, saying, Your servants have given out the money which was in the house, and have given it to the overseers of the work of the house of the Lord.
9 Puis Schaphan, le secrétaire, alla rendre compte au roi, et dit: Tes serviteurs ont amassé l'argent qui se trouvait dans la maison, et l'ont remis entre les mains de ceux qui sont chargés de faire exécuter l'ouvrage dans la maison de l'Éternel.
9 Chuaigh Seáfán an rúnaí go dtí an rí agus seo mar a d'aithris sé dó: “Rinne do shearbhóntaí,” ar seisean, “an t‑airgead a bhí sa Teampall a leá, agus thug siad é do na saoistí ar na hoibreacha a bhaineann le Teampall an Tiarna.”
9 Viniendo luego Saphán escriba al rey, dió al rey la respuesta, y dijo: Tus siervos han juntado el dinero que se halló en el templo, y lo han entregado en poder de los que hacen la obra, que tienen cargo de la casa de Jehová.
9 Und Saphan, der Schreiber kam zum König und gab ihm Bericht und sprach: Deine Knechte haben das Geld ausgeschüttet, das im Hause gefunden ist und haben's den Werkmeistern gegeben, die bestellt sind am Hause des HERRN.
10 Then Shaphan the scribe said to the king, Hilkiah the priest has given me a book; and he was reading it before the king.
10 Schaphan, le secrétaire, dit encore au roi: Le sacrificateur Hilkija m'a donné un livre. Et Schaphan le lut devant le roi.
10 Ansin d'inis Seáfán, an rúnaí, don rí: “Tá Hilcíá, an sagart, tar éis leabhar a bhronnadh orm,” agus léigh Seáfán os ard i láthair an rí é.
10 Asimismo Saphán escriba declaró al rey, diciendo: Hilcías el sacerdote me ha dado un libro. Y leyólo Saphán delante del rey.
10 Auch sagte Saphan, der Schreiber, dem König und sprach: Hilkia, der Priester, gab mir ein Buch. Und Saphan las es vor dem König.
11 And the king, hearing the words of the book of the law, took his robe in his hands, violently parting it as a sign of his grief;
11 Lorsque le roi entendit les paroles du livre de la loi, il déchira ses vêtements.
11 Nuair a bhí a raibh i leabhar an dlí cloiste ag an rí stróic sé a chuid éadaigh.
11 Y cuando el rey hubo oído las palabras del libro de la ley, rasgó sus vestidos.
11 Da aber der König hörte die Worte im Gesetzbuch, zerriß er seine Kleider.
12 And he gave orders to Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, and Achbor, the son of Micaiah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah the king's servant, saying,
12 Et le roi donna cet ordre au sacrificateur Hilkija, à Achikam, fils de Schaphan, à Acbor, fils de Michée, à Schaphan, le secrétaire, et à Asaja, serviteur du roi:
12 Ansin thug an rí an t‑ordú seo leanas do Hilcíá, an sagart, d'Aichíceám mac Sheáfán, d'Acbór mac Mhícáiá, do Sheáfán, an rúnaí, agus d'Asáiá, searbhónta an rí:
12 Luego mandó el rey á Hilcías el sacerdote, y á Ahicam hijo de Saphán, y á Achbor hijo de Michâía, y á Saphán escriba, y á Asaía siervo del rey, diciendo:
12 Und der König gebot Hilkia, dem Priester, und Ahikam, dem Sohn Saphans, und Achbor, dem Sohn Michajas, und Saphan, dem Schreiber, und Asaja dem Knecht des Königs, und sprach:
13 Go and get directions from the Lord for me and for the people and for all Judah, about the words of this book which has come to light; for great is the wrath of the Lord which is burning against us, because our fathers have not given ear to the words of this book, to do all the things which are recorded in it.
13 Allez, consultez l'Éternel pour moi, pour le peuple, et pour tout Juda, au sujet des paroles de ce livre qu'on a trouvé; car grande est la colère de l'Éternel, qui s'est enflammée contre nous, parce que nos pères n'ont point obéi aux paroles de ce livre et n'ont point mis en pratique tout ce qui nous y est prescrit.
13 “Gabhaigí i gcomhairle leis an Tiarna thar mo cheann féin agus thar ceann an phobail i dtaobh a bhfuil sa leabhar seo a fuarthas anois beag. Ní foláir nó is mór atá fearg an Tiarna fadaithe inár n‑aghaidh de bhrí nach raibh ár n‑aithreacha umhal d'fhocail an leabhair seo agus nár chuir siad gach rud i gcrích atá scríofa ann.”
13 Id, y preguntad á Jehová por mí, y por el pueblo, y por todo Judá, acerca de las palabras de este libro que se ha hallado: porque grande ira de Jehová es la que ha sido encendida contra nosotros, por cuanto nuestros padres no escucharon las palabras de este libro, para hacer conforme á todo lo que nos fué escrito.
13 Gehet hin und fraget den HERRN für mich, für dies Volk und für ganz Juda um die Worte dieses Buches, das gefunden ist; denn es ist ein großer Grimm des HERRN, der über uns entbrannt ist, darum daß unsre Väter nicht gehorcht haben den Worten dieses Buches, daß sie täten alles, was darin geschrieben ist.
14 So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam and Achbor and Shaphan and Asaiah, went to Huldah the woman prophet, the wife of Shallum, the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the robes, (now she was living in Jerusalem, in the second part of the town;) and they had talk with her.
14 Le sacrificateur Hilkija, Achikam, Acbor, Schaphan et Asaja, allèrent auprès de la prophétesse Hulda, femme de Schallum, fils de Thikva, fils de Harhas, gardien des vêtements. Elle habitait à Jérusalem, dans l'autre quartier de la ville.
14 Chuaigh Hilcíá, an sagart, agus Aichíceám, agus Seáfán, agus Asáiá go dtí Huldá an banfháidh, bean Shealúm mac Thicveá mac Harchas, coimeádaí na n‑éidí [bhí cónaí uirthi in Iarúsailéim, sa bhaile nua], agus chuir siad an scéal faoina bráid.
14 Entonces fué Hilcías el sacerdote, y Ahicam y Achbor y Saphán y Asaía, á Hulda profetisa, mujer de Sallum hijo de Ticva hijo de Araas, guarda de las vestiduras, la cual moraba en Jerusalem en la segunda parte de la ciudad, y hablaron con ella.
14 Da gingen hin Hilkia, der Priester, Ahikam, Achbor, Saphan und Asaja zu der Prophetin Hulda, dem Weibe Sallums, des Sohnes Thikwas, des Sohnes Harhas, des Hüters der Kleider, und sie wohnte zu Jerusalem im andern Teil; und sie redeten mit ihr.
15 And she said to them, The Lord, the God of Israel, says, Say to the man who sent you to me,
15 Après qu'ils eurent parlé, elle leur dit: Ainsi parle l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël: Dites à l'homme qui vous a envoyés vers moi:
15 D'fhreagair sí iad: “Deir an Tiarna, Dia Iosrael, mar leanas: ‘Abraigí é seo leis an té a chuir chugam sibh:
15 Y ella les dijo: Así ha dicho Jehová el Dios de Israel: Decid al varón que os envió á mí:
15 Sie aber sprach zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels: Saget dem Mann, der euch zu mir gesandt hat:
16 These are the words of the Lord: See, I will send evil on this place and on its people, even everything which the king of Judah has been reading in the book;
16 Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Voici, je vais faire venir des malheurs sur ce lieu et sur ses habitants, selon toutes les paroles du livre qu'a lu le roi de Juda.
16 Seo mar a deir an Tiarna: Tá tubaiste á tabhairt agam ar an áit seo agus ar an muintir a chónaíonn ann, agus mé ag cur gach a ndeirtear sa leabhar a léigh rí Iúdá i gcrích;
16 Así dijo Jehová: He aquí yo traigo mal sobre este lugar, y sobre los que en él moran, á saber, todas las palabras del libro que ha leído el rey de Judá:
16 So spricht der HERR: Siehe, ich will Unglück über diese Stätte und ihre Einwohner bringen, alle Worte des Gesetzes, die der König Juda's hat lassen lesen.
17 Because they have given me up, burning offerings to other gods and moving me to wrath by all the work of their hands; so my wrath will be on fire against this place, and will not be put out.
17 Parce qu'ils m'ont abandonné et qu'ils ont offert des parfums à d'autres dieux, afin de m'irriter par tous les ouvrages de leurs mains, ma colère s'est enflammée contre ce lieu, et elle ne s'éteindra point.
17 mar thréig siad mise agus dhóigh siad túis do dhéithe eile do mo ghriogadh chun feirge i ngach beart dá ndearna siad. Uime sin tá m'fhearg ar lasadh in aghaidh na háite seo, agus ní dhéanfar í a mhúchadh.
17 Por cuanto me dejaron á mí, y quemaron perfumes á dioses ajenos, provocándome á ira en toda obra de sus manos; y mi furor se ha encendido contra este lugar, y no se apagará.
17 Darum, daß sie mich verlassen und andern Göttern geräuchert haben, mich zu erzürnen mit allen Werken ihrer Hände, darum wird mein Grimm sich wider diese Stätte entzünden und nicht ausgelöscht werden.
18 But to the king of Judah who sent you to get directions from the Lord, say, This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, has said: As to the words which have come to your ears,
18 Mais vous direz au roi de Juda, qui vous a envoyés pour consulter l'Éternel: Ainsi parle l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, au sujet des paroles que tu as entendues:
18 Agus abraigí le rí Iúdá a chuir sibh le dul i gcomhairle leis an Tiarna: Mar seo a deir an Tiarna, Dia Iosrael: [Comhlíonfar] na focail a chuala sibh.
18 Mas al rey de Judá que os ha enviado para que preguntaseis á Jehová, diréis así: Así ha dicho Jehová el Dios de Israel: Por cuanto oíste las palabras del libro,
18 Aber dem König Juda's, der euch gesandt hat, den HERRN zu fragen, sollt ihr sagen: So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels:
19 Because your heart was soft, and you made yourself low before me, when you had word of what I said against this place and its people, that they would become a waste and a curse, and you gave signs of grief, weeping before me: truly, I have given ear to you, says the Lord.
19 Parce que ton coeur a été touché, parce que tu t'es humilié devant l'Éternel en entendant ce que j'ai prononcé contre ce lieu et contre ses habitants, qui seront un objet d'épouvante et de malédiction, et parce que tu as déchiré tes vêtements et que tu as pleuré devant moi, moi aussi, j'ai entendu, dit l'Éternel.
19 Ach de bhrí go bhfuil aithrí i do chroí agus gur umhlaigh tú thú féin os comhair an Tiarna nuair a chuala tú cad a chinn mé in aghaidh na háite seo agus a lucht cónaithe, conas mar a bheidh siad ina gceap uafáis agus mallacht; agus de bhrí gur stróic tú d'éidí agus gur ghoil tú i mo láthair, thug mise cluas duit - sé an Tiarna atá ag caint.
19 Y tu corazón se enterneció, y te humillaste delante de Jehová, cuando oíste lo que yo he pronunciado contra este lugar y contra sus moradores, que vendrían á ser asolados y malditos, y rasgaste tus vestidos, y lloraste en mi presencia, también yo te he oído, dice Jehová.
19 Darum daß dein Herz erweicht ist über den Worten, die du gehört hast, und hast dich gedemütigt vor dem HERRN, da du hörtest, was ich geredet habe wider diese Stätte und ihre Einwohner, daß sie sollen eine Verwüstung und ein Fluch sein, und hast deine Kleider zerrissen und hast geweint vor mir, so habe ich's auch erhört, spricht der HERR.
20 For this cause I will let you go to your fathers and be put in your last resting-place in peace, and your eyes will not see all the evil which I will send on this place. So they took this news back to the king.
20 C'est pourquoi, voici, je te recueillerai auprès de tes pères, tu seras recueilli en paix dans ton sépulcre, et tes yeux ne verront pas tous les malheurs que je ferai venir sur ce lieu. Ils rapportèrent au roi cette réponse.
