1 Now Elisha had said to the woman whose son he had given back to life, Go now, with all the people of your house, and get a living-place for yourselves wherever you are able; for by the word of the Lord, there will be great need of food in the land; and this will go on for seven years.
1 Élisée dit à la femme dont il avait fait revivre le fils: Lève-toi, va t'en, toi et ta maison, et séjourne où tu pourras; car l'Éternel appelle la famine, et même elle vient sur le pays pour sept années.

1 Y Hablo Eliseo á aquella mujer á cuyo hijo había hecho vivir, diciendo: Levántate, vete tú y toda tu casa á vivir donde pudieres; porque Jehová ha llamado el hambre, la cual vendrá también sobre la tierra siete años.
1 Elisa redete mit dem Weibe, dessen Sohn er hatte lebendig gemacht, und sprach: Mache dich auf und gehe hin mit deinem Hause und wohne in der Fremde, wo du kannst; denn der HERR wird eine Teuerung rufen, die wird ins Land kommen sieben Jahre lang.
2 So the woman got up and did as the man of God said; and she and the people of her house were living in the land of the Philistines for seven years.
2 La femme se leva, et elle fit selon la parole de l'homme de Dieu: elle s'en alla, elle et sa maison, et séjourna sept ans au pays des Philistins.
2 D'éirigh an bhean agus rinne mar a dúirt an giolla Dé léi: d'imigh sí lena líon tí agus chuir fúithi ar feadh seacht mbliana i dtír na bhFilistíneach.
2 Entonces la mujer se levantó, é hizo como el varón de Dios le dijo: y partióse ella con su familia, y vivió en tierra de los Filisteos siete años.
2 Das Weib machte sich auf und tat, wie der Mann Gottes sagte, und zog hin mit ihrem Hause und wohnte in der Philister Land sieben Jahre.
3 And when the seven years were ended, the woman came back from the land of the Philistines and went to the king with a request for her house and her land.
3 Au bout des sept ans, la femme revint du pays des Philistins, et elle alla implorer le roi au sujet de sa maison et de son champ.
3 Nuair a bhí na seacht mbliana caite d'fhill an bhean ó thír na bhFilistíneach agus chuaigh lena héileamh faoina teach agus faoina talamh a chur faoi bhráid an rí.
3 Y como fueron pasados los siete años, la mujer volvió de la tierra de los Filisteos: después salió para clamar al rey por su casa, y por sus tierras.
3 Da aber die sieben Jahre um waren, kam das Weib wieder aus der Philister Land; und sie ging aus, den König anzurufen um ihr Haus und ihren Acker.
4 Now the king was talking with Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, saying, Now, give me an account of all the great things Elisha has done.
4 Le roi s'entretenait avec Guéhazi, serviteur de l'homme de Dieu, et il disait: Raconte-moi, je te prie, toutes les grandes choses qu'Élisée a faites.
4 Bhí an rí ag caint le Géichizí, searbhónta an ghiolla Dé, á rá: “Inis dom na héachtaí go léir a rinne Eilíseá.”
4 Y había el rey hablado con Giezi, criado del varón de Dios, diciéndole: Ruégote que me cuentes todas las maravillas que ha hecho Eliseo.
4 Der König aber redete mit Gehasi, dem Diener des Mannes Gottes, und sprach: Erzähle mir alle großen Taten, die Elisa getan hat!
5 And while he was giving the king the story of how Elisha had given life to the dead, the woman whose son had come back to life came to the king with a request for her house and her land. And Gehazi said, My lord king, this is the woman and this is her son, whose life Elisha gave back to him.
5 Et pendant qu'il racontait au roi comment Élisée avait rendu la vie à un mort, la femme dont Élisée avait fait revivre le fils vint implorer le roi au sujet de sa maison et de son champ. Guéhazi dit: O roi, mon seigneur, voici la femme, et voici son fils qu'Élisée a fait revivre.

5 Y contando él al rey cómo había hecho vivir á un muerto, he aquí la mujer, á cuyo hijo había hecho vivir, que clamaba al rey por su casa y por sus tierras. Entonces dijo Giezi: Rey señor mío, esta es la mujer, y este es su hijo, al cual Eliseo hizo vivir.
5 Und indem er dem König erzählte, wie er hätte einen Toten lebendig gemacht, sieh, da kam eben das Weib, dessen Sohn er hatte lebendig gemacht, und rief den König an um ihr Haus und ihren Acker. Da sprach Gehasi: Mein Herr König, dies ist das Weib, und dies ist der Sohn, den Elisa hat lebendig gemacht.
6 And in answer to the king's questions, the woman gave him all the story. So the king gave orders to one of his unsexed servants, saying, Give her back all her property, and all the produce of her fields from the day when she went away from the land up till now.
6 Le roi interrogea la femme, et elle lui fit le récit. Puis le roi lui donna un eunuque, auquel il dit: Fais restituer tout ce qui appartient à cette femme, avec tous les revenus du champ, depuis le jour où elle a quitté le pays jusqu'à maintenant.
6 Cheistigh an rí an bhean agus d'inis sí an scéal dó. Ansin chuir an rí duine dá mhaoir ina feighil agus thug an treoir seo dó: “Féach chuige go bhfaighidh sí a maoin go léir ar ais, agus an teacht isteach go léir óna cuid talún ón lá a d'fhág sí an tír go dtí anois.” Hazáéil
6 Y preguntando el rey á la mujer, ella se lo contó. Entonces el rey le dió un eunuco, diciéndole: Hazle volver todas las cosas que eran suyas, y todos los frutos de la tierras desde el día que dejó el país hasta ahora.
6 Und der König fragte das Weib; und sie erzählte es ihm. Da gab ihr der König einen Kämmerer und sprach: Schaffe ihr wieder alles, was ihr gehört; dazu alles Einkommen des Ackers, seit der Zeit, daß sie das Land verlassen hat, bis hierher!
7 And Elisha came to Damascus; and Ben-hadad, king of Aram, was ill; and they said to him, The man of God has come.
7 Élisée se rendit à Damas. Ben Hadad, roi de Syrie, était malade; et on l'avertit, en disant: L'homme de Dieu est arrivé ici.
7 Tháinig Eilíseá go dtí an Damaisc agus bhí Bein Hadad rí Arám tinn. Dúradh leis: “Tá an giolla Dé tagtha anseo.”
7 Eliseo se fué luego á Damasco, y Ben-adad rey de Siria estaba enfermo, al cual dieron aviso, diciendo: El varón de Dios ha venido aquí.
7 Und Elisa kam gen Damaskus. Da lag Benhadad, der König von Syrien, krank; und man sagte es ihm an und sprach: Der Mann Gottes ist hergekommen.
8 Then the king said to Hazael, Take an offering with you, and go to see the man of God and get directions from the Lord by him, saying, Am I going to get better from my disease?
8 Le roi dit à Hazaël: Prends avec toi un présent, et va au-devant de l'homme de Dieu; consulte par lui l'Éternel, en disant: Guérirai-je de cette maladie?
8 Dúirt an rí ansin le Hazáéil: “Beir bronntanas leat agus téigh faoi choinne an ghiolla Dé, agus téigh i gcomhairle leis an Tiarna tríd a fhiafraí an dtéarnóidh mé ón tinneas seo.”
8 Y el rey dijo á Hazael: Toma en tu mano un presente, y ve á recibir al varón de Dios, y consulta por él á Jehová, diciendo: ¿Tengo de sanar de esta enfermedad?
8 Da sprach der König zu Hasael: Nimm Geschenke zu dir und gehe dem Mann Gottes entgegen und frage den HERRN durch ihn und sprich, ob ich von dieser Krankheit möge genesen.
9 So Hazael went to see him, taking with him forty camels with offerings on their backs of every sort of good thing from Damascus; and when he came before him, he said, Your son Ben-hadad, king of Aram, has sent me to you, saying, Will I get better from this disease?
9 Hazaël alla au-devant d'Élisée, prenant avec lui un présent, tout ce qu'il y avait de meilleur à Damas, la charge de quarante chameaux. Lorsqu'il fut arrivé, il se présenta à lui, et dit: Ton fils Ben Hadad, roi de Syrie, m'envoie vers toi pour dire: Guérirai-je de cette maladie?
9 D'imigh Hazáéil faoi choinne Eilíseá agus togha mhaoin na Damaisce aige leis mar bhronntanas - ualach daichead camall. Tháinig sé agus sheas sé os a chomhair agus dúirt: “Chuir do mhac Bein Hadad rí Arám mise chugat á fhiafraí díot: ‘An dtéarnóidh mé ón tinneas seo?’ ”
9 Tomó pues Hazael en su mano un presente de todos los bienes de Damasco, cuarenta camellos cargados, y saliólo á recibir: y llegó, y púsose delante de él, y dijo: Tu hijo Ben-adad, rey de Siria, me ha enviado á ti, diciendo: ¿Tengo de sanar de esta enfermedad?
9 Hasael ging ihm entgegen und nahm Geschenke mit sich und allerlei Güter zu Damaskus, eine Last für vierzig Kamele. Und da er kam, trat er vor ihn und sprach: Dein Sohn Benhadad, der König von Syrien, hat mich zu dir gesandt und läßt dir sagen: Kann ich auch von dieser Krankheit genesen?
10 And Elisha said to him, Go, say to him, You will certainly get better; but the Lord has made it clear to me that only death is before him.
10 Élisée lui répondit: Va, dis-lui: Tu guériras! Mais l'Éternel m'a révélé qu'il mourra.
10 D'fhreagair Eilíseá: “Téigh agus abair leis: ‘Tearnóidh tú cinnte,’ ach d'fhoilsigh an Tiarna dom go bhfaighidh sé bás cinnte.”
10 Y Eliseo le dijo: Ve, dile: Seguramente vivirás. Empero Jehová me ha mostrado que él ha de morir ciertamente.
10 Elisa sprach zu ihm: Gehe hin und sage ihm: Du wirst genesen! Aber der HERR hat mir gezeigt, daß er des Todes sterben wird.
11 And he kept his eyes fixed on him till he was shamed, and the man of God was overcome with weeping.
11 L'homme de Dieu arrêta son regard sur Hazaël, et le fixa longtemps, puis il pleura.
11 Ansin d'éirigh a cheannaithe teann, agus stán sé air nó go dtáinig náire air agus ghoil an giolla Dé.
11 Y el varón de Dios le volvió el rostro afirmadamente, y estúvose así una gran pieza; y lloró el varón de Dios.
11 Und der Mann Gottes schaute ihn starr und lange an und weinte.
12 And Hazael said, Why is my lord weeping? Then he said in answer, Because I see the evil which you will do to the children of Israel: burning down their strong towns, putting their young men to death with the sword, smashing their little ones against the stones, and cutting open the women who are with child.
12 Hazaël dit: Pourquoi mon seigneur pleure-t-il? Et Élisée répondit: Parce que je sais le mal que tu feras aux enfants d'Israël; tu mettras le feu à leurs villes fortes, tu tueras avec l'épée leurs jeunes gens, tu écraseras leurs petits enfants, et tu fendras le ventre de leurs femmes enceintes.
12 “Cén fáth,” arsa Hazáéil, “go bhfuil mo thiarna ag gol?” D'fhreagair sé: “Mar go bhfuil a fhios agam an urchóid a dhéanfaidh tú do chlann Iosrael; cuirfidh tú a ndaingin trí thine, cuirfidh tú a n‑ógánaigh chun báis le rinn claímh, stollfaidh tú a leanaí ina ngeireacha, agus scoiltfidh tú broinn a mban torrach.”
12 Entonces díjole Hazael: ¿Por qué llora mi señor? Y él respondió: Porque sé el mal que has de hacer á los hijos de Israel: á sus fortalezas pegarás fuego, y á sus mancebos matarás á cuchillo, y estrellarás á sus niños, y abrirás á sus preñadas.
12 Da sprach Hasael: Warum weint mein Herr? Er sprach: Ich weiß, was für Übel du den Kindern Israel tun wirst: du wirst ihre festen Städte mit Feuer verbrennen und ihre junge Mannschaft mit dem Schwert erwürgen und ihre jungen Kinder töten und ihre schwangeren Weiber zerhauen.
13 And Hazael said, How is it possible that your servant, who is only a dog, will do this great thing? And Elisha said, The Lord has made it clear to me that you will be king over Aram.
13 Hazaël dit: Mais qu'est-ce que ton serviteur, ce chien, pour faire de si grandes choses? Et Élisée dit: L'Éternel m'a révélé que tu seras roi de Syrie.
13 “Ach,” arsa Hazáéil, “cad é do shearbhónta? Níl ann ach madra le haon ní mór mar sin a dhéanamh.” “I bhfís ón Tiarna,” arsa Eilíseá, “chonaic mé thú i do rí ar Arám.”
13 Y Hazael dijo: ¿Por qué? ¿es tu siervo perro, que hará esta gran cosa? Y respondió Eliseo: Jehová me ha mostrado que tú has de ser rey de Siria.
13 Hasael sprach: Was ist dein Knecht, der Hund, daß er solch großes Ding tun sollte? Elisa sprach: Der HERR hat mir gezeigt, daß du König von Syrien sein wirst.
14 Then he went away from Elisha and came in to his master, who said to him, What did Elisha say to you? And his answer was, He said that you would certainly get well.
14 Hazaël quitta Élisée, et revint auprès de son maître, qui lui dit: Que t'a dit Élisée? Et il répondit: Il m'a dit: Tu guériras!
14 D'fhág sé slán ag Eilíseá agus d'fhill ar a mháistir, agus d'fhiafraigh seisean de: “Cad dúirt Eilíseá?” D'fhreagair sé: “D'inis sé dom go ndéanfá téarnamh cinnte.”
14 Y él se partió de Eliseo, y vino á su señor, el cual le dijo: ¿Qué te ha dicho Eliseo? Y él respondió: Díjome que seguramente vivirás.
14 Und er ging weg von Elisa und kam zu seinem Herrn; der sprach zu ihm: Was sagte dir Elisa? Er sprach: Er sagte mir: Du wirst genesen.
15 Now on the day after, Hazael took the bed-cover, and making it wet with water, put it over Ben-hadad's face, causing his death: and Hazael became king in his place.
15 Le lendemain, Hazaël prit une couverture, qu'il plongea dans l'eau, et il l'étendit sur le visage du roi, qui mourut. Et Hazaël régna à sa place.

15 El día siguiente tomó un paño basto, y metiólo en agua, y tendiólo sobre el rostro de Ben-adad, y murió: y reinó Hazael en su lugar.
15 Des andern Tages aber nahm er die Bettdecke und tauchte sie in Wasser und breitete sie über sein Angesicht; da starb er, und Hasael ward König an seiner Statt.
16 In the fifth year of Joram, the son of Ahab, king of Israel, Jehoram, the son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, became king.
16 La cinquième année de Joram, fils d'Achab, roi d'Israël, Joram, fils de Josaphat, roi de Juda, régna.
16 Sa chúigiú bliain de réimeas Iórám mac Acháb rí Iosrael, tháinig Iahórám mac Iahóiseáfát rí Iúdá i gcoróin.
16 En el quinto año de Joram hijo de Achâb rey de Israel, y siendo Josaphat rey de Judá, comenzó á reinar Joram hijo de Josaphat rey de Judá.
16 Im fünften Jahr Jorams, des Sohnes Ahabs, des Königs in Israel, ward Joram, der Sohn Josaphats, König in Juda.
17 He was thirty-two years old when he became king; and he was ruling in Jerusalem for eight years.
17 Il avait trente-deux ans lorsqu'il devint roi, et il régna huit ans à Jérusalem.
17 Bhí sé dhá bhliain déag ar fhichid d'aois nuair a tháinig sé i gcoróin, agus bhí sé ocht mbliana ina rí in Iarúsailéim.
17 De treinta y dos años era cuando comenzó á reinar, y ocho años reinó en Jerusalem.
17 Zweiunddreißig Jahre alt war er, da er König ward. Und er regierte acht Jahre zu Jerusalem
18 He went in the ways of the kings of Israel, as the family of Ahab did: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife; and he did evil in the eyes of the Lord.
18 Il marcha dans la voie des rois d'Israël, comme avait fait la maison d'Achab, car il avait pour femme une fille d'Achab, et il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel.
18 Lean sé sampla ríthe Iosrael, mar a rinne teaghlach Acháb, mar ba iníon le hAcháb a bhí aige mar bhean. Rinne sé an t‑olc i bhfianaise an Tiarna.
18 Y anduvo en el camino de los reyes de Israel, como hizo la casa de Achâb, porque una hija de Achâb fué su mujer; é hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová.
18 und wandelte auf dem Wege der Könige Israels, wie das Haus Ahab tat; denn Ahabs Tochter war sein Weib. Und er tat, was dem HERRN übel gefiel;
19 But it was not the Lord's purpose to send destruction on Judah, because of David his servant, to whom he had given his word that he would have a light for ever.
19 Mais l'Éternel ne voulut point détruire Juda, à cause de David, son serviteur, selon la promesse qu'il lui avait faite de lui donner toujours une lampe parmi ses fils.
19 Ach ní scriosfadh an Tiarna Iúdá ar son Dháiví, a shearbhónta, mar gur gheall sé go dtabharfadh sé lóchrann go brách dó féin agus dá chlann mhac [ina láthair].
19 Con todo eso, Jehová no quiso cortar á Judá, por amor de David su siervo, como le había prometido darle lámpara de sus hijos perpetuamente.
19 aber der HERR wollte Juda nicht verderben um seines Knechtes David willen, wie er ihm verheißen hatte, ihm zu geben eine Leuchte unter seinen Kindern immerdar.
20 In his time, Edom made themselves free from the rule of Judah, and took a king for themselves.
20 De son temps, Édom se révolta contre l'autorité de Juda, et se donna un roi.
20 Lena linn rinne Eadóm ceannairc ó cheannas Iúdá, agus cheapadar rí dá gcuid féin.
20 En su tiempo se rebeló Edom de debajo de la mano de Judá, y pusieron rey sobre sí.
20 Zu seiner Zeit fielen die Edomiter ab von Juda und machten einen König über sich.
21 Then Joram went over to Zair, with all his war-carriages; ... made an attack by night on the Edomites, whose forces were all round him, ... the captains of the war-carriages; and the people went in flight to their tents.
21 Joram passa à Tsaïr, avec tous ses chars; s'étant levé de nuit, il battit les Édomites, qui l'entouraient et les chefs des chars, et le peuple s'enfuit dans ses tentes.
21 Ansin ghabh Iahórám anonn go Záír lena charbaid go léir. D'éirigh sé san oíche, agus bhris sé amach lena cheannairí carbad trí shluaite na nEadómach a bhí ina thimpeall, ach theith a arm abhaile.
21 Joram por tanto pasó á Seir, y todos sus carros con él: y levantándose de noche hirió á los Idumeos, los cuales le habían cercado, y á los capitanes de los carros: y el pueblo huyó á sus estancias.
21 Da zog Joram gen Zair und alle Wagen mit ihm und machte sich des Nachts auf und schlug die Edomiter, die um ihn her waren, dazu die Obersten über die Wagen, daß das Volk floh in seine Hütten.
22 So Edom made themselves free from the rule of Judah to this day. And at the same time, Libnah made itself free.
22 La rébellion d'Édom contre l'autorité de Juda a duré jusqu'à ce jour. Libna se révolta aussi dans le même temps.

23 Now the rest of the acts of Joram, and all he did, are they not recorded in the book of the history of the kings of Judah?
23 Le reste des actions de Joram, et tout ce qu'il a fait, cela n'est-il pas écrit dans le livre des Chroniques des rois de Juda?

23 Lo demás de los hechos de Joram, y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?
23 Was aber mehr von Joram zu sagen ist und alles, was er getan hat, siehe, das ist geschrieben in der Chronik der Könige Juda's.
24 And Joram went to rest with his fathers and was put into the earth with his fathers in the town of David: and Ahaziah his son became king in his place.
24 Joram se coucha avec ses pères, et il fut enterré avec ses pères dans la ville de David. Et Achazia, son fils, régna à sa place.

25 In the twelfth year that Joram, the son of Ahab, was king of Israel, Ahaziah, the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, became king;
25 La douzième année de Joram, fils d'Achab, roi d'Israël, Achazia, fils de Joram, roi de Juda, régna.
25 Sa dara bliain déag de réimeas Iórám mac Acháb rí Iosrael tháinig Achaizíá mac Iahórám i gcoróin ar Iúdá.
25 En el año doce de Joram hijo de Achâb rey de Israel, comenzó á reinar Ochôzías hijo de Joram rey de Judá.

26 Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he was ruling in Jerusalem for one year. His mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri, king of Israel.
26 Achazia avait vingt-deux ans lorsqu'il devint roi, et il régna un an à Jérusalem. Sa mère s'appelait Athalie, fille d'Omri, roi d'Israël.
26 Bhí Achaizíá dhá bhliain agus fiche nuair a tháinig sé i gcoróin, agus bhí sé bliain i réim in Iarúsailéim. Atailiá, iníon Omraí rí Iosrael, ab ainm dá bhean.
26 De veintidós años era Ochôzías cuando comenzó á reinar, y reinó un año en Jerusalem. El nombre de su madre fué Athalía hija de Omri rey de Israel.

27 He went in the ways of the family of Ahab, and did evil in the eyes of the Lord as the family of Ahab did, for he was a son-in-law of the family of Ahab.
27 Il marcha dans la voie de la maison d'Achab, et il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel, comme la maison d'Achab, car il était allié par mariage à la maison d'Achab.
27 Lean seisean chomh maith sampla theaghlach Acháb agus rinne an t‑olc i bhfianaise an Tiarna, faoi mar a rinne teaghlach Acháb, lena raibh sé i gcleamhnas.
27 Y anduvo en el camino de la casa de Achâb, é hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, como la casa de Achâb: porque era yerno de la casa de Achâb.
