1 And Jehoram, the son of Ahab, became king over Israel in Samaria in the eighteenth year of the rule of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah; and he was king for twelve years.

1 Y Joram hijo de Achâb comenzó á reinar en Samaria sobre Israel el año dieciocho de Josaphat rey de Judá; y reinó doce años.
1 Joram, der Sohn Ahabs, ward König über Israel zu Samaria im achtzehnten Jahr Josaphats, des Königs Juda's, und regierte zwölf Jahre.
2 He did evil in the eyes of the Lord; but not like his father and his mother, for he put away the stone pillar of Baal which his father had made.
2 Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel, non pas toutefois comme son père et sa mère. Il renversa les statues de Baal que son père avait faites;
2 Rinne sé an t‑olc i bhfianaise an Tiarna, cé nach mar a rinne a athair agus a mháthair, mar chuir sé gallán Bhál a rinne a athair as an tslí.
2 E hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, aunque no como su padre y su madre; porque quitó las estatuas de Baal que su padre había hecho.
2 Und er tat, was dem HERRN übel gefiel; doch nicht wie sein Vater und seine Mutter. Denn er tat weg die Säule Baals, die sein Vater machen ließ.
3 But still he did the same sins which Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, did and made Israel do; he went on in them.
3 mais il se livra aux péchés de Jéroboam, fils de Nebath, qui avait fait pécher Israël, et il ne s'en détourna point.
3 Lean sé áfach den pheaca inar threoraigh Iarobám mac Nabát pobal Iosrael, agus níor scar sé leis.
3 Mas allegóse á los pecados de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, que hizo pecar á Israel; y no se apartó de ellos.
3 Aber er blieb hangen an den Sünden Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, der Israel sündigen machte, und ließ nicht davon.
4 Now Mesha, king of Moab, was a sheep-farmer; and he gave regularly to the king of Israel the wool from a hundred thousand lambs and a hundred thousand sheep.
4 Méscha, roi de Moab, possédait des troupeaux, et il payait au roi d'Israël un tribut de cent mille agneaux et de cent mille béliers avec leur laine.
4 Ba thógálaí caorach é Méisa rí Mhóáb agus dhíoladh sé céad míle uan agus an lomra ó chéad míle reithe le rí Iosrael mar cháin.
4 Entonces Mesa rey de Moab era propietario de ganados, y pagaba al rey de Israel cien mil corderos y cien mil carneros con sus vellones.
4 Mesa aber, der Moabiter König, hatte viele Schafe und zinste dem König Israels Wolle von hunderttausend Lämmern und hunderttausend Widdern.
5 But when Ahab was dead, the king of Moab got free from the authority of the king of Israel.
5 A la mort d'Achab, le roi de Moab se révolta contre le roi d'Israël.
5 Nuair a fuair Acháb bás, rinne rí Mhóáb ceannairc in aghaidh rí Iosrael.
5 Mas muerto Achâb, el rey de Moab se rebeló contra el rey de Israel.
5 Da aber Ahab tot war, fiel der Moabiter König ab vom König Israels.
6 At that time, King Jehoram went out from Samaria and got all Israel together in fighting order.
6 Le roi Joram sortit alors de Samarie, et passa en revue tout Israël.
6 Ghluais Iahórám gan mhoill ón tSamáir amach agus thionóil sé Iosrael go léir.
6 Y salió entonces de Samaria el rey Joram, é inspeccionó á todo Israel.
6 Da zog zur selben Zeit aus der König Joram von Samaria und ordnete das ganze Israel
7 And he sent to Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, saying, The king of Moab has got free from my authority: will you go with me to make war on Moab? And he said, I will go with you: I am as you are, my people as your people, and my horses as your horses.
7 Il se mit en marche, et il fit dire à Josaphat, roi de Juda: Le roi de Moab s'est révolté contre moi; veux-tu venir avec moi attaquer Moab? Josaphat répondit: J'irai, moi comme toi, mon peuple comme ton peuple, mes chevaux comme tes chevaux.
7 Ansin chuir sé scéala go dtí [Iahóiseáfát] rí Iúdá: “Tá ceannairc déanta ag rí Mhóáb i m'aghaidh. An rachaidh tú liom chun cath a chur ar Mhóab?” “Déanfaidh mé,” d'fhreagair sé; “táimse chomh hullamh leatsa, mo chuid fear le do chuidse, m'eachra le d'eachra.”
7 Y fué y envió á decir á Josaphat rey de Judá: El rey de Moab se ha rebelado contra mí: ¿irás tú conmigo á la guerra contra Moab? Y él respondió: Iré, porque como yo, así tú; como mi pueblo, así tu pueblo; como mis caballos, así también tus caballos.
7 und sandte hin zu Josaphat, dem König Juda's, und ließ ihm sagen: Der Moabiter König ist von mir abgefallen; komm mit mir, zu streiten wider die Moabiter! Er sprach: Ich will hinaufkommen; ich bin wie du, und mein Volk wie dein Volk, und meine Rosse wie deine Rosse.
8 And he said, Which way are we to go? And he said in answer, By the waste land of Edom.
8 Et il dit: Par quel chemin monterons-nous? Joram dit: Par le chemin du désert d'Édom.
8 Ansin d'fiafraigh sé: “Cén bealach a ghabhfaimid?” D'fhreagair Iahórám: “Trí fhásach Eadóm.”
8 Y dijo: ¿Por qué camino iremos? Y él respondió: Por el camino del desierto de Idumea.
8 Und er sprach: Welchen Weg wollen wir hinaufziehen? Er sprach: Den Weg durch die Wüste Edom.
9 So the king of Israel went with the king of Judah and the king of Edom by a roundabout way for seven days: and there was no water for the army or for the beasts they had with them.
9 Le roi d'Israël, le roi de Juda et le roi d'Édom, partirent; et après une marche de sept jours, ils manquèrent d'eau pour l'armée et pour les bêtes qui la suivaient.
9 Chuir siad chun bóthair dá bhrí sin, rí Iosrael, rí Iúdá, agus rí Eadóm. Ghabhadar timpeall mór ar feadh seacht lá go dtí nach raibh uisce fágtha do na saighdiúirí ná do na beithígh iompair a lean iad.
9 Partieron pues el rey de Israel, y el rey de Judá, y el rey de Idumea; y como anduvieron rodeando por el desierto siete días de camino, faltóles el agua para el ejército, y para las bestias que los seguían.
9 Also zog hin der König Israels, der König Juda's und der König Edoms. Und da sie sieben Tagereisen zogen, hatte das Heer und das Vieh, das unter ihnen war kein Wasser.
10 And the king of Israel said, Here is trouble: for the Lord has got these three kings together to give them into the hands of Moab.
10 Alors le roi d'Israël dit: Hélas! l'Éternel a appelé ces trois rois pour les livrer entre les mains de Moab.
10 Ansin dúirt rí Iosrael: “Mo léan, tá glaoite ag an Tiarna ar an triúr rí seo, lenár dtabhairt i láimh Mhóáb.”
10 Entonces el rey de Israel dijo: ¡Ah! que ha llamado Jehová estos tres reyes para entregarlos en manos de los Moabitas.
10 Da sprach der König Israels: O wehe! der HERR hat diese drei Könige geladen, daß er sie in der Moabiter Hände gebe.
11 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there no prophet of the Lord here, through whom we may get directions from the Lord? And one of the king of Israel's men said in answer, Elisha, the son of Shaphat, is here, who was servant to Elijah.
11 Mais Josaphat dit: N'y a-t-il ici aucun prophète de l'Éternel, par qui nous puissions consulter l'Éternel? L'un des serviteurs du roi d'Israël répondit: Il y a ici Élisée, fils de Schaphath, qui versait l'eau sur les mains d'Élie.
11 Ach dúirt rí Iúdá [Iahóiseáfát]: “An bhfuil aon fháidh leis an Tiarna anseo trína bhféadfaimis dul i gcomhairle leis an Tiarna?” D'fhreagair duine de shearbhóntaí rí Iosrael: “Tá Eilíseá mac Sheáfat anseo, an té a scaoileadh an t‑uisce ar lámha Éilias.”
11 Mas Josaphat dijo: ¿No hay aquí profeta de Jehová, para que consultemos á Jehová por él? Y uno de los siervos del rey de Israel respondió y dijo: Aquí está Eliseo hijo de Saphat, que daba agua á manos á Elías.
11 Josaphat aber sprach: Ist kein Prophet des HERRN hier, daß wir den HERRN durch ihn ratfragen? Da antwortete einer unter den Knechten des Königs Israels und sprach: Hier ist Elisa, der Sohn Saphats, der Elia Wasser auf die Hände goß.
12 And Jehoshaphat said, The word of the Lord is with him. So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.
12 Et Josaphat dit: La parole de l'Éternel est avec lui. Le roi d'Israël, Josaphat et le roi d'Édom, descendirent auprès de lui.
12 Dúirt [Iahóiseáfát] [rí Iúdá]: “Tá briathar an Tiarna leis.” Ghabhadar síos chuige dá bhrí sin - rí Iosrael, [Iahóiseáfát] [rí Iosrael], agus rí Eadóm.
12 Y Josaphat dijo: Este tendrá palabra de Jehová. Y descendieron á él el rey de Israel, y Josaphat, y el rey de Idumea.
12 Josaphat sprach: Des HERRN Wort ist bei ihm. Also zogen sie zu ihm hinab der König Israels und Josaphat und der König Edoms.
13 But Elisha said to the king of Israel, What have I to do with you? go to the prophets of your father and your mother. And the king of Israel said, No; for the Lord has got these three kings together to give them up into the hands of Moab.
13 Élisée dit au roi d'Israël: Qu'y a-t-il entre moi et toi? Va vers les prophètes de ton père et vers les prophètes de ta mère. Et le roi d'Israël lui dit: Non! car l'Éternel a appelé ces trois rois pour les livrer entre les mains de Moab.
13 Ansin dúirt Eilíseá le rí Iosrael: “Cén gnó atá agatsa liomsa? Téigh go fáithe d'athar agus do mháthar.” D'fhreagair rí Iosrael: “Ní dhéanfaidh mé. Ghlaoigh an Tiarna ar an triúr ríthe seo, lenár dtabhairt i lámha Mhóáb.”
13 Entonces Eliseo dijo al rey de Israel: ¿Qué tengo yo contigo? Ve á los profetas de tu padre, y á los profetas de tu madre. Y el rey de Israel le respondió: No; porque ha juntado Jehová estos tres reyes para entregarlos en manos de los Moabitas.
13 Elisa aber sprach zum König Israels: Was hast du mit mir zu schaffen? gehe hin zu den Propheten deines Vaters und zu den Propheten deiner Mutter! Der König Israels sprach zu ihm: Nein! denn der HERR hat diese drei Könige geladen, daß er sie in der Moabiter Hände gebe.
14 Then Elisha said, By the life of the Lord of armies whose servant I am, if it was not for the respect I have for Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, I would not give a look at you, or see you.
14 Élisée dit: L'Éternel des armées, dont je suis le serviteur, est vivant! si je n'avais égard à Josaphat, roi de Juda, je ne ferais aucune attention à toi et je ne te regarderais pas.
14 D'fhreagair Eilíseá: “Dar Tiarna beo na Slua, an té dá bhfónaim, mura mbeadh go bhfuil urraim agam do Iahóiseáfát, rí Iúdá, ní thabharfainn aon aird ort ná fiú féachaint i do threo.
14 Y Eliseo dijo: Vive Jehová de los ejércitos, en cuya presencia estoy, que si no tuviese respeto al rostro de Josaphat rey de Judá, no mirara á ti, ni te viera.
14 Elisa sprach: So wahr der HERR Zebaoth lebt, vor dem ich stehe, wenn ich nicht Josaphat, den König Juda's, ansähe, ich wollte dich nicht ansehen noch achten.
15 But now, get me a player of music, and it will come about that while the man is playing, the hand of the Lord will come on me and I will give you the word of the Lord: and they got a player of music, and while the man was playing, the hand of the Lord was on him.
15 Maintenant, amenez-moi un joueur de harpe. Et comme le joueur de harpe jouait, la main de l'Éternel fut sur Élisée.
15 Anois tabhair chugam ceoltóir.” Agus a luaithe a sheinn an ceoltóir, luigh lámh an Tiarna air,
15 Mas ahora traedme un tañedor. Y mientras el tañedor tocaba, la mano de Jehová fué sobre Eliseo.
15 So bringet mir nun einen Spielmann! Und da der Spielmann auf den Saiten spielte, kam die Hand des HERRN auf ihn,
16 And he said, The Lord says, I will make this valley full of water-holes.
16 Et il dit: Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Faites dans cette vallée des fosses, des fosses!
16 agus dúirt sé: “Mar seo a deir an Tiarna: ‘Déanfaidh mé díog ar dhíog den chom seo,’
16 Y dijo: Así ha dicho Jehová: Haced en este valle muchas acequias.
16 und er sprach: So spricht der HERR: Macht hier und da Gräben an diesem Bach!
17 For the Lord says, Though you see no wind or rain, the valley will be full of water, and you and your armies and your beasts will have drink.
17 Car ainsi parle l'Éternel: Vous n'apercevrez point de vent et vous ne verrez point de pluie, et cette vallée se remplira d'eau, et vous boirez, vous, vos troupeaux et votre bétail.
17 mar deir an Tiarna: ‘Ní fheicfidh sibh gaoth ná baisteach, ach líonfar an com seo d'uisce, agus ólfaidh sibh féin agus bhur saighdiúirí agus bhur mbeithígh iompair deoch as.”
17 Porque Jehová ha dicho así: No veréis viento, ni veréis lluvia, y este valle será lleno de agua, y beberéis vosotros, y vuestras bestias, y vuestros ganados.
17 Denn so spricht der HERR: Ihr werdet keinen Wind noch Regen sehen; dennoch soll der Bach voll Wasser werden, daß ihr und euer Gesinde und euer Vieh trinket.
18 And this will be only a small thing to the Lord: in addition he will give the Moabites into your hands.
18 Mais cela est peu de chose aux yeux de l'Éternel. Il livrera Moab entre vos mains;
18 Ach ní mór an ní is fiú an méid sin i súile an Tiarna, mar cuirfidh sé Móáb féin faoi bhur smacht.
18 Y esto es cosa ligera en los ojos de Jehová; dará también á los Moabitas en vuestras manos.
18 Dazu ist das ein Geringes vor dem HERRN; er wird auch die Moabiter in eure Hände geben,
19 And you are to put every walled town to destruction, cutting down every good tree, and stopping up every water-spring, and making all the good land rough with stones.
19 vous frapperez toutes les villes fortes et toutes les villes d'élite, vous abattrez tous les bons arbres, vous boucherez toutes les sources d'eau, et vous ruinerez avec des pierres tous les meilleurs champs.
19 Gabhfaidh sibh gach cathair dhaingean [agus gach cathair thofa] de ruathar, leagfaidh sibh gach crann folláin, dúnfaidh sibh gach tobar fíoruisce, agus scriosfaidh sibh gach gort maith le clocha.”
19 Y vosotros heriréis á toda ciudad fortalecida y á toda villa hermosa, y talaréis todo buen árbol, y cegaréis todas las fuentes de aguas, y destruiréis con piedras toda tierra fértil.
19 daß ihr schlagen werdet alle festen Städte und alle auserwählten Städte und werdet fällen alle guten Bäume und werdet verstopfen alle Wasserbrunnen und werdet allen guten Acker mit Steinen verderben.
20 Now in the morning, about the time when the offering was made, they saw water flowing from the direction of Edom till the country was full of water.
20 Or le matin, au moment de la présentation de l'offrande, voici, l'eau arriva du chemin d'Édom, et le pays fut rempli d'eau.
20 Maidin lá arna mhárach ag tráth íobartha na habhlainne, tháinig uisce ina dtreo ó Eadóm, agus líonadh an dúiche d'uisce.
20 Y aconteció que por la mañana, cuando se ofrece el sacrificio, he aquí vinieron aguas por el camino de Idumea, y la tierra fué llena de aguas.
20 Des Morgens aber, zur Zeit, da man Speisopfer opfert, siehe, da kam ein Gewässer des Weges von Edom und füllte das Land mit Wasser.
21 Now all Moab, hearing that the kings had come to make war against them, got together all who were able to take up arms and went forward to the edge of the country.
21 Cependant, tous les Moabites ayant appris que les rois montaient pour les attaquer, on convoqua tous ceux en âge de porter les armes et même au-dessus, et ils se tinrent sur la frontière.
21 Nuair a chuala Móáb go léir go raibh na ríthe tagtha aníos ag cur catha orthu, cuireadh tionól ar gach duine a bhí in ann arm a iompar idir óg is aosta, agus cuireadh in eagar catha iad ar an teorainn.
21 Y todos los de Moab, como oyeron que los reyes subían á pelear contra ellos, juntáronse desde todos los que ceñían talabarte arriba, y pusiéronse en la frontera.
21 Da aber alle Moabiter hörten, daß die Könige heraufzogen, wider sie zu streiten, beriefen sie alle, die zur Rüstung alt genug und darüber waren, und traten an die Grenze.
22 And early in the morning they got up, when the sun was shining on the water, and they saw the water facing them as red as blood.
22 Ils se levèrent de bon matin, et quand le soleil brilla sur les eaux, les Moabites virent en face d'eux les eaux rouges comme du sang.
22 Ar maidin, nuair a d'éiríodar, bhí an ghrian ag taitneamh ar an uisce, agus thaibhsigh an t‑uisce dearg mar fhuil uathu do na Móábaigh.
22 Y como se levantaron por la mañana, y lució el sol sobre las aguas, vieron los de Moab desde lejos las aguas rojas como sangre;
22 Und da sie sich des Morgens früh aufmachten und die Sonne aufging über dem Gewässer, deuchte die Moabiter das Gewässer ihnen gegenüber rot zu sein wie Blut;
23 Then they said, This is blood: it is clear that destruction has come on the kings; they have been fighting one another: now come, Moab, let us take their goods.
23 Ils dirent: C'est du sang! les rois ont tiré l'épée entre eux, ils se sont frappés les uns les autres; maintenant, Moabites, au pillage!
23 “Fuil é seo,” ar siad, “ní foláir nó gur throid na ríthe eatarthu féin agus gur mharaíodar a chéile. Ar aghaidh chun na creiche, a Mhóáb, más ea!”
23 Y dijeron: ¡Sangre es esta de espada! Los reyes se han revuelto, y cada uno ha muerto á su compañero. Ahora pues, ¡Moab, á la presa!
23 und sie sprachen: Es ist Blut! Die Könige haben sich mit dem Schwert verderbt, und einer wird den andern geschlagen haben. Hui, Moab, mache dich nun auf zur Ausbeute!
24 But when they came to the tents of Israel, the Israelites came out and made a violent attack on the Moabites, so that they went in flight before them; and they went forward still attacking them;
24 Et ils marchèrent contre le camp d'Israël. Mais Israël se leva, et frappa Moab, qui prit la fuite devant eux. Ils pénétrèrent dans le pays, et frappèrent Moab.
24 Ach nuair a shroich siad longfort Iosrael, d'éirigh na hIosraelaigh ina gcoinne agus thug siad fogha faoi na Móábaigh agus theith siadsan rompu, agus [ag dul ar aghaidh dóibh] rinneadar ár agus eirleach ar na Móábaigh.
24 Mas cuando llegaron al campo de Israel, levantáronse los Israelitas é hirieron á los de Moab, los cuales huyeron delante de ellos: siguieron empero hiriendo todavía á los de Moab.
24 Aber da sie zum Lager Israels kamen, machte sich Israel auf und schlug die Moabiter; und sie flohen vor ihnen. Aber sie kamen hinein und schlugen Moab.
25 Pulling down the towns, covering every good field with stones, stopping up all the water-springs, and cutting down all the good trees; they went on driving Moab before them till only in Kir-hareseth were there any Moabites; and the fighting-men went round the town raining stones on it.
25 Ils renversèrent les villes, ils jetèrent chacun des pierres dans tous les meilleurs champs et les en remplirent, ils bouchèrent toutes les sources d'eau, et ils abattirent tous les bons arbres; et les frondeurs enveloppèrent et battirent Kir Haréseth, dont on ne laissa que les pierres.
25 Scartáil siad na cathracha agus chaith gach fear cloch isteach i ngach gort fónta á líonadh, agus dhúnadar gach tobar fíoruisce agus leagadar gach crann folláin. Chreachadar Móáb go dtí nach raibh fágtha i gCír Harasat ach na clocha agus rinne an lucht diúraicthe é a thimpeallú agus a ghabháil.
25 Y asolaron las ciudades, y en todas las heredades fértiles echó cada uno su piedra, y las llenaron; cegaron también todas las fuentes de las aguas, y derribaron todos los buenos árboles; hasta que en Kir-hareseth solamente dejaron sus piedras; porque los honderos la cercaron, y la hirieron.
25 Die Städte zerbrachen sie, und ein jeglicher warf seine Steine auf alle guten Äcker und machten sie voll und verstopften die Wasserbrunnen und fällten alle guten Bäume, bis daß nur die Steine von Kir-Hareseth übrigblieben; und es umgaben die Stadt die Schleuderer und warfen auf sie.
26 And when the king of Moab saw that the fight was going against him, he took with him seven hundred men armed with swords, with the idea of forcing a way through to the king of Aram, but they were not able to do so.
26 Le roi de Moab, voyant qu'il avait le dessous dans le combat, prit avec lui sept cents hommes tirant l'épée pour se frayer un passage jusqu'au roi d'Édom; mais ils ne purent pas.
26 Nuair a chonaic rí Mhóáb go raibh an cath á bhriseadh air, bhailigh sé seacht gcéad de lucht iompair claímh féachaint an bhféadfadh sé a bhealach a dhéanamh amach agus dul go rí [Arám], ach theip air.
26 Y cuando el rey de Moab vió que la batalla lo vencía, tomó consigo setecientos hombres que sacaban espada, para romper contra el rey de Idumea: mas no pudieron.
26 Da aber der Moabiter König sah, daß ihm der Streit zu stark war, nahm er siebenhundert Mann zu sich, die das Schwert auszogen, durchzubrechen wider den König Edoms; aber sie konnten nicht.
27 Then he took his oldest son, who would have been king after him, offering him as a burned offering on the wall. So there was great wrath against Israel; and they went away from him, back to their country.
27 Il prit alors son fils premier-né, qui devait régner à sa place, et il l'offrit en holocauste sur la muraille. Et une grande indignation s'empara d'Israël, qui s'éloigna du roi de Moab et retourna dans son pays.
