1 Now Naboth the Jezreelite had a vine-garden in Jezreel, near the house of Ahab, king of Samaria.
1 Après ces choses, voici ce qui arriva. Naboth, de Jizreel, avait une vigne à Jizreel, à côté du palais d'Achab, roi de Samarie.

1 Pasados estos negocios, aconteció que Naboth de Jezreel tenía en Jezreel una viña junto al palacio de Achâb rey de Samaria.
1 Nach diesen Geschichten begab sich's, daß Naboth, ein Jesreeliter, einen Weinberg hatte zu Jesreel, bei dem Palast Ahabs, des Königs zu Samaria.
2 And Ahab said to Naboth, Give me your vine-garden so that I may have it for a garden of sweet plants, for it is near my house; and let me give you a better vine-garden in exchange, or, if it seems good to you, let me give you its value in money.
2 Et Achab parla ainsi à Naboth: Cède-moi ta vigne, pour que j'en fasse un jardin potager, car elle est tout près de ma maison. Je te donnerai à la place une vigne meilleure; ou, si cela te convient, je te paierai la valeur en argent.
2 Dúirt Acháb le Nábót: “Tabhair dom d'fhíonghort chun go mbeadh sé agam mar luibhghort, mar tá sé cóngarach do mo theach. Tabharfaidh mé fíonghort níos fearr duit air, nó, más fearr leat é, tabharfaidh mé a luach duit in airgead.”
2 Y Achâb habló á Naboth, diciendo: Dame tu viña para un huerto de legumbres, porque está cercana, junto á mi casa, y yo te daré por ella otra viña mejor que esta; ó si mejor te pareciere, te pagaré su valor en dinero.
2 Und Ahab redete mit Naboth und sprach: Gib mir deinen Weinberg; ich will mir einen Kohlgarten daraus machen, weil er so nahe an meinem Hause liegt. Ich will dir einen bessern Weinberg dafür geben, oder, so dir's gefällt, will ich dir Silber dafür geben, soviel er gilt.
3 But Naboth said to Ahab, By the Lord, far be it from me to give you the heritage of my fathers.
3 Mais Naboth répondit à Achab: Que l'Éternel me garde de te donner l'héritage de mes pères!
3 Ach d'fhreagair Nábót Acháb: “Nár lige an Tiarna go dtabharfainn oidhreacht mo shinsear duit!”
3 Y Naboth respondió á Achâb: Guárdeme Jehová de que yo te dé á ti la heredad de mis padres.
3 Aber Naboth sprach zu Ahab: Das lasse der HERR fern von mir sein, daß ich dir meiner Väter Erbe sollte geben!
4 So Ahab came into his house bitter and angry because Naboth the Jezreelite had said to him, I will not give you the heritage of my fathers. And stretching himself on the bed with his face turned away, he would take no food.
4 Achab rentra dans sa maison, triste et irrité, à cause de cette parole que lui avait dite Naboth de Jizreel: Je ne te donnerai pas l'héritage de mes pères! Et il se coucha sur son lit, détourna le visage, et ne mangea rien.
4 Chuaigh Acháb abhaile agus gruaim agus crá air mar gheall ar fhocail Nábót ó Izréil: “Ní thabharfaidh mé oidhreacht mo shinsear duit.” Luigh sé ar a leaba agus d'iompaigh a aghaidh ó radharc agus dhiúltaigh sé bia a ithe.
4 Y vínose Achâb á su casa triste y enojado, por la palabra que Naboth de Jezreel le había respondido, diciendo: No te daré la heredad de mis padres. Y acostóse en su cama, y volvió su rostro, y no comió pan.
4 Da kam Ahab heim voll Unmuts und zornig um des Wortes willen, das Naboth, der Jesreeliter, zu ihm hatte gesagt und gesprochen: Ich will dir meiner Väter Erbe nicht geben. Und er legte sich auf sein Bett und wandte sein Antlitz und aß kein Brot.
5 But Jezebel, his wife, came to him and said, Why is your spirit so bitter that you have no desire for food?
5 Jézabel, sa femme, vint auprès de lui, et lui dit: Pourquoi as-tu l'esprit triste et ne manges-tu point?
5 Tháinig Ízeibil a bhean chéile chuige. “Cén fáth a bhfuil oiread drochmhisnigh ort agus nach n‑íosfá?” ar sise.
5 Y vino á él su mujer Jezabel, y díjole: ¿Por qué está tan triste tu espíritu, y no comes pan?
5 Da kam zu ihm hinein Isebel, sein Weib, und redete mit ihm: Was ist's, daß du nicht Brot ißt?
6 And he said to her, Because I was talking to Naboth the Jezreelite, and I said to him, Let me have your vine-garden for a price, or, if it is pleasing to you, I will give you another vine-garden for it: and he said, I will not give you my vine-garden.
6 Il lui répondit: J'ai parlé à Naboth de Jizreel, et je lui ai dit: Cède-moi ta vigne pour de l'argent; ou, si tu veux, je te donnerai une autre vigne à la place. Mais il a dit: Je ne te donnerai pas ma vigne!
6 Dúirt sé: “Bhí mé ag caint le Nábót ó Izréil. Arsa mise leis: ‘Tabhair dom d'fhíonghort ar airgead, nó, más fearr leat é, tabharfaidh mé fíonghort eile duit mar mhalairt air.’ Ach dúirt seisean: ‘Ní thabharfaidh mé m'fhíonghort duit.’ ”
6 Y él respondió: Porque hablé con Naboth de Jezreel, y díjele que me diera su viña por dinero, ó que, si más quería, le daría otra viña por ella; y él respondió: Yo no te daré mi viña.
6 Er sprach zu ihr: Ich habe mit Naboth, dem Jesreeliten, geredet und gesagt: Gib mir deinen Weinberg um Geld, oder, so du Lust dazu hast, will ich dir einen andern dafür geben. Er aber sprach: Ich will dir meinen Weinberg nicht geben.
7 Then Jezebel, his wife, said, Are you now the ruler of Israel? Get up, take food, and let your heart be glad; I will give you the vine-garden of Naboth the Jezreelite.
7 Alors Jézabel, sa femme, lui dit: Est-ce bien toi maintenant qui exerces la souveraineté sur Israël? Lève-toi, prends de la nourriture, et que ton coeur se réjouisse; moi, je te donnerai la vigne de Naboth de Jizreel.
7 Ansin dúirt Ízeibil a bhean: “Is breá an rí ar Iosrael thusa, gan amhras! Éirigh agus ith leat; bíodh misneach ort; gheobhaidh mise féin fíonghort Nábót ó Izréil duit.”
7 Y su mujer Jezabel le dijo: ¿Eres tú ahora rey sobre Israel? Levántate, y come pan, y alégrate: yo te daré la viña de Naboth de Jezreel.
7 Da sprach Isebel, sein Weib, zu ihm: Was wäre für ein Königreich in Israel, wenn du nicht tätig wärst! Stehe auf und iß Brot und sei guten Muts! Ich will dir den Weinberg Naboths, des Jesreeliten, verschaffen.
8 So she sent a letter in Ahab's name, stamped with his stamp, to the responsible men and the chiefs who were in authority with Naboth.
8 Et elle écrivit au nom d'Achab des lettres qu'elle scella du sceau d'Achab, et qu'elle envoya aux anciens et aux magistrats qui habitaient avec Naboth dans sa ville.
8 Scríobh sí litreacha in ainm Acháb, más ea, agus chuir sí a shéala orthu agus chuir sí iad chuig na seanóirí agus na huaisle a bhí ina gcónaí san aon chathair le Nábót.
8 Entonces ella escribió cartas en nombre de Achâb, y sellólas con su anillo y enviólas á los ancianos y á los principales que moraban en su ciudad con Naboth.
8 Und sie schrieb Briefe unter Ahabs Namen und versiegelte sie mit seinem Siegel und sandte sie zu den Ältesten und Obersten in seiner Stadt, die um Naboth wohnten.
9 And in the letter she said, Let a time of public sorrow be fixed, and put Naboth at the head of the people;
9 Voici ce qu'elle écrivit dans ces lettres: Publiez un jeûne; placez Naboth à la tête du peuple,
9 Scríobh sí sna litreacha: “Fógraigí troscadh agus cuirigí Nábót chun tosaigh ar an bpobal.
9 Y las cartas que escribió decían así: Proclamad ayuno, y poned á Naboth á la cabecera del pueblo;
9 Und sie schrieb also in diesen Briefen: Laßt ein Fasten ausschreien und setzt Naboth obenan im Volk
10 And get two good-for-nothing persons to come before him and give witness that he has been cursing God and the king. Then take him out and have him stoned to death.
10 et mettez en face de lui deux méchants hommes qui déposeront ainsi contre lui: Tu as maudit Dieu et le roi! Puis menez-le dehors, lapidez-le, et qu'il meure.
10 Cuirigí cúpla scraiste os a choinne a dhéanfaidh é a chúiseamh mar seo: ‘Mhallaigh tú Dia agus an rí.’ Tugaigí amach ansin é agus maraigí le clocha é.”
10 Y poned dos hombres perversos delante de él, que atestigüen contra él, y digan: Tú has blasfemado á Dios y al rey. Y entonces sacadlo, y apedreadlo, y muera.
10 und stellt zwei lose Buben vor ihn, die da Zeugen und sprechen: Du hast Gott und den König gelästert! und führt ihn hinaus und steinigt ihn, daß er sterbe.
11 So the responsible men and the chiefs who were in authority in his town, did as Jezebel had said in the letter she sent them.
11 Les gens de la ville de Naboth, les anciens et les magistrats qui habitaient dans la ville, agirent comme Jézabel le leur avait fait dire, d'après ce qui était écrit dans les lettres qu'elle leur avait envoyées.
11 Rinne muintir a chathrach, na seanóirí agus na huaisle a bhí ina gcónaí ina chathair, an rud a d'ordaigh Ízeibil dóibh, mar a bhí scríofa sna litreacha a sheol sí chucu.
11 Y los de su ciudad, los ancianos y los principales que moraban en su ciudad, lo hicieron como Jezabel les mandó, conforme á lo escrito en las cartas que ella les había enviado.
11 Und die Ältesten und Obersten seiner Stadt, die in seiner Stadt wohnten, taten, wie ihnen Isebel entboten hatte, wie sie in den Briefen geschrieben hatte, die sie zu ihnen sandte,
12 They gave orders for a day of public sorrow, and put Naboth at the head of the people.
12 Ils publièrent un jeûne, et ils placèrent Naboth à la tête du peuple;
12 D'fhógair siad troscadh agus chuir siad Nábót chun tosaigh ar an bpobal.
12 Y promulgaron ayuno, y asentaron á Naboth á la cabecera del pueblo.
12 und ließen ein Fasten ausschreien und ließen Naboth obenan unter dem Volk sitzen.
13 And the two good-for-nothing persons came in and took their seats before him and gave witness against Naboth, in front of the people, saying, Naboth has been cursing God and the king. Then they took him outside the town and had him stoned to death.
13 les deux méchants hommes vinrent se mettre en face de lui, et ces méchants hommes déposèrent ainsi devant le peuple contre Naboth: Naboth a maudit Dieu et le roi! Puis ils le menèrent hors de la ville, ils le lapidèrent, et il mourut.
13 Ansin tháinig an dá scraiste, shuigh siad os a chomhair agus rinne siad cúiseamh ina aghaidh os comhair an phobail á rá: “Chuir Nábót a mhallacht ar Dhia agus ar an rí.” Thug siad amach as an gcathair é agus mharaigh le clocha é.
13 Vinieron entonces dos hombres perversos, y sentáronse delante de él: y aquellos hombres de Belial atestiguaron contra Naboth delante del pueblo, diciendo: Naboth ha blasfemado á Dios y al rey. Y sacáronlo fuera de la ciudad, y apedreáronlo con piedras, y murió.
13 Da kamen die zwei losen Buben und stellten sich vor ihn und zeugten wider Naboth vor dem Volk und sprachen: Naboth hat Gott und den König gelästert. Da führten sie ihn vor die Stadt hinaus und steinigten ihn, daß er starb.
14 And they sent word to Jezebel, saying, Naboth has been stoned and is dead.
14 Et ils envoyèrent dire à Jézabel: Naboth a été lapidé, et il est mort.
14 Ansin chuireadar teachtaireacht chuig Ízeibil: “Maraíodh Nábót le clocha!”
14 Después enviaron á decir á Jezabel: Naboth ha sido apedreado y muerto.
14 Und sie entboten Isebel und ließen ihr sagen: Naboth ist gesteinigt und tot.
15 Then Jezebel, hearing that Naboth had been stoned and was dead, said to Ahab, Get up and take as your heritage the vine-garden of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he would not give you for money, for Naboth is no longer living but is dead.
15 Lorsque Jézabel apprit que Naboth avait été lapidé et qu'il était mort, elle dit à Achab: Lève-toi, prends possession de la vigne de Naboth de Jizreel, qui a refusé de te la céder pour de l'argent; car Naboth n'est plus en vie, il est mort.
15 Nuair a chuala Ízeibil gur maraíodh Nábót le clocha, dúirt sí le hAcháb: “Éirigh! Glac seilbh ar an bhfíonghort nach dtabharfadh Nábót ó Izréil duit ar airgead mar ní beo do Nábót feasta ach marbh!”
15 Y como Jezabel oyó que Naboth había sido apedreado y muerto, dijo á Achâb: Levántate y posee la viña de Naboth de Jezreel, que no te la quiso dar por dinero; porque Naboth no vive, sino que es muerto.
15 Da aber Isebel hörte, daß Naboth gesteinigt und tot war, sprach sie zu Ahab: Stehe auf und nimm ein den Weinberg Naboths, des Jesreeliten, welchen er sich weigerte dir um Geld zu geben; denn Naboth lebt nimmer, sondern ist tot.
16 So Ahab, hearing that Naboth was dead, went down to the vine-garden of Naboth the Jezreelite to take it as his heritage.
16 Achab, entendant que Naboth était mort, se leva pour descendre à la vigne de Naboth de Jizreel, afin d'en prendre possession.
16 Nuair a chuala Acháb go raibh Nábót marbh, d'éirigh sé le dul síos chuig fíonghort Nábot ó Izréil le seilbh a ghlacadh air.
16 Y oyendo Achâb que Naboth era muerto, levantóse para descender á la viña de Naboth de Jezreel, para tomar posesión de ella.
16 Da Ahab hörte, daß Naboth tot war, stand er auf, daß er hinabginge zum Weinberge Naboths, des Jesreeliten, und ihn einnähme.
17 And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
17 Alors la parole de l'Éternel fut adressée à Élie, le Thischbite, en ces mots:

17 Entonces fué palabra de Jehová á Elías Thisbita, diciendo:
17 Aber das Wort des HERRN kam zu Elia, dem Thisbiter, und sprach:
18 Go down to Ahab, king of Israel, in Samaria; see, he is in the vine-garden of Naboth the Jezreelite, where he has gone to take it as his heritage.
18 Lève-toi, descends au-devant d'Achab, roi d'Israël à Samarie; le voilà dans la vigne de Naboth, où il est descendu pour en prendre possession.
18 “Éirigh agus imigh leat síos go gcasfar Acháb rí Iosrael ort sa tSamáir. Tiocfaidh tú air i bhfíonghort Nábót; tá sé imithe síos le seilbh a ghlacadh air.
18 Levántate, desciende á encontrarte con Achâb rey de Israel, que está en Samaria: he aquí él está en la viña de Naboth, á la cual ha descendido para tomar posesión de ella.
18 Mache dich auf und gehe hinab, Ahab, dem König Israels, entgegen, der zu Samaria ist, siehe, er ist im Weinberge Naboths, dahin er ist hinabgegangen, daß er ihn einnehme,
19 Say to him, The Lord says, Have you put a man to death and taken his heritage? Then say to him, The Lord says, In the place where dogs have been drinking the blood of Naboth, there will your blood become the drink of dogs.
19 Tu lui diras: Ainsi parle l'Éternel: N'es-tu pas un assassin et un voleur? Et tu lui diras: Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Au lieu même où les chiens ont léché le sang de Naboth, les chiens lécheront aussi ton propre sang.
19 Abair leis: ‘Seo mar a deir an Tiarna: Rinne tú dúnmharú; de bhreis air sin tá forlámhas á dhéanamh agat anois. [Ar an ábhar sin] - agus is é an Tiarna a deir é - san áit inar ligh na madraí fuil Nábót, lífidh siad do chuid folasa chomh maith.’ ”
19 Y hablarle has, diciendo: Así ha dicho Jehová: ¿No mataste y también has poseído? Y tornarás á hablarle, diciendo: Así ha dicho Jehová: En el mismo lugar donde lamieron los perros la sangre de Naboth, los perros lamerán también tu sangre, la tuya misma.
19 und rede mit ihm und sprich: So spricht der HERR: Du hast totgeschlagen, dazu auch in Besitz genommen. Und sollst mit ihm reden und Sagen: So spricht der HERR: An der Stätte, da Hunde das Blut Naboths geleckt haben, sollen auch Hunde dein Blut lecken.
20 And Ahab said to Elijah, Have you come face to face with me, O my hater? And he said, I have come to you because you have given yourself up to do evil in the eyes of the Lord.
20 Achab dit à Élie: M'as-tu trouvé, mon ennemi? Et il répondit: Je t'ai trouvé, parce que tu t'es vendu pour faire ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel.
20 Dúirt Acháb le hÉilias: “Tá beirthe amuigh agat orm mar sin, a namhaid.” D'fhreagair Éilias: “Sea, tá beirthe agam ort, toisc gur reic tú thú féin, leis an olc i súile an Tiarna a dhéanamh.
20 Y Achâb dijo á Elías: ¿Me has hallado, enemigo mío? Y él respondió: Hete encontrado, porque te has vendido á mal hacer delante de Jehová.
20 Und Ahab sprach zu Elia: Hast du mich gefunden, mein Feind? Er aber sprach: Ja, ich habe dich gefunden, darum daß du dich verkauft hast, nur Übles zu tun vor dem HERRN.
21 See, I will send evil on you and put an end to you completely, cutting off from Ahab every male child, him who is shut up and him who goes free in Israel;
21 Voici, je vais faire venir le malheur sur toi; je te balaierai, j'exterminerai quiconque appartient à Achab, celui qui est esclave et celui qui est libre en Israël,
21 Féach! tabharfaidh mé an t‑olc sa mhullach ort, agus déanfaidh mé scrios iomlán ort. Gearrfaidh mé gach mac máthar dá shliocht daor nó saor chun siúil ó Acháb.
21 He aquí yo traigo mal sobre ti, y barreré tu posteridad, y talaré de Achâb todo meante á la pared, al guardado y al desamparado en Israel:
21 Siehe, ich will Unglück über dich bringen und deine Nachkommen wegnehmen und will von Ahab ausrotten, was männlich ist, den der verschlossen und übriggelassen ist in Israel,
22 And I will make your family like the family of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, and like the family of Baasha, the son of Ahijah, because you have made me angry, and have made Israel do evil.
22 et je rendrai ta maison semblable à la maison de Jéroboam, fils de Nebath, et à la maison de Baescha, fils d'Achija, parce que tu m'as irrité et que tu as fais pécher Israël.
22 Tabharfaidh mé an íde chéanna ar do theaghlach agus a thug mé ar theaghlach Iarobám mac Nabát, agus ar theaghlach Bháiseá mac Aichíá, de bhrí gur chuir tú fearg orm agus gur sheol tú Iosrael ar bhóthar an pheaca.
22 Y yo pondré tu casa como la casa de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, y como la casa de Baasa hijo de Ahía; por la provocación con que me provocaste á ira, y con que has hecho pecar á Israel.
22 und will dein Haus machen wie das Haus Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, und wie das Haus Baesas, des Sohnes Ahias, um des Reizens willen, durch das du mich erzürnt und Israel sündigen gemacht hast.
23 And of Jezebel the Lord said, Jezebel will become food for dogs in the heritage of Jezreel.
23 L'Éternel parle aussi sur Jézabel, et il dit: Les chiens mangeront Jézabel près du rempart de Jizreel.
23 [Lena chois sin labhair an Tiarna na focail seo in aghaidh Ízeibil: ‘Íosfaidh na madraí Ízeibil i gcríocha Izréil.’]
23 De Jezabel también ha hablado Jehová, diciendo: Los perros comerán á Jezabel en la barbacana de Jezreel.
23 Und über Isebel redete der HERR auch und sprach: Die Hunde sollen Isebel fressen an der Mauer Jesreels.
24 Any man of the family of Ahab who comes to his death in the town will become food for the dogs; and he who comes to his death in the open country will be food for the birds of the air.
24 Celui de la maison d'Achab qui mourra dans la ville sera mangé par les chiens, et celui qui mourra dans les champs sera mangé par les oiseaux du ciel.
24 An chuid sin de chlann Acháb a gheobhaidh bás sa chathair, íosfaidh na madraí iad, agus an chuid a gheobhaidh bás faoin tuath, íosfaidh éanlaith an aeir iad.”
24 El que de Achâb fuere muerto en la ciudad, perros le comerán: y el que fuere muerto en el campo, comerlo han las aves del cielo.
24 Wer von Ahab stirbt in der Stadt, den sollen die Hunde fressen; und wer auf dem Felde stirbt, den sollen die Vögel unter dem Himmel fressen.
25 (There was no one like Ahab, who gave himself up to do evil in the eyes of the Lord, moved to it by Jezebel his wife.
25 Il n'y a eu personne qui se soit vendu comme Achab pour faire ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel, et Jézabel, sa femme, l'y excitait.
25 Ní raibh macasamhail Acháb riamh ann, ar ndóigh, le hé féin a reic chun an t‑olc i súile an Tiarna a dhéanamh, agus é á spreagadh ag Ízeibil a bhean chéile.
25 (A la verdad ninguno fué como Achâb, que se vendiese á hacer lo malo á los ojos de Jehová; porque Jezabel su mujer lo incitaba.
25 (Also war niemand, der sich so gar verkauft hätte, übel zu tun vor dem HERRN, wie Ahab; denn sein Weib Isebel überredete ihn also.
26 He did a very disgusting thing in going after false gods, doing all the things the Amorites did, whom the Lord sent out before the children of Israel.)
26 Il a agi de la manière la plus abominable, en allant après les idoles, comme le faisaient les Amoréens, que l'Éternel chassa devant les enfants d'Israël.
26 D'iompair sé é féin ar bhealach gráiniúil agus lean sé íola, faoi mar a dhéanadh na hAmóraigh a dhíbir an Tiarna roimh chlann Iosrael.
26 El fué en grande manera abominable, caminando en pos de los ídolos, conforme á todo lo que hicieron los Amorrheos, á los cuales lanzó Jehová delante de los hijos de Israel.)
26 Und er machte sich zum großen Greuel, daß er den Götzen nachwandelte allerdinge, wie die Amoriter getan hatten, die der HERR vor den Kindern Israel vertrieben hatte.)
27 Hearing these words, Ahab, in great grief, put haircloth on his flesh and went without food, sleeping in haircloth, and going about quietly.
27 Après avoir entendu les paroles d'Élie, Achab déchira ses vêtements, il mit un sac sur son corps, et il jeûna; il couchait avec ce sac, et il marchait lentement.
27 Nuair a chuala Acháb na focail sin, stróic sé a chuid éadaigh agus chuir sacéadach lena chneas agus rinne sé troscadh; chodlaíodh sé sa sacéadach agus shiúladh sé de choiscéim mhall.
27 Y acaeció cuando Achâb oyó estas palabras, que rasgó sus vestidos, y puso saco sobre su carne, y ayunó, y durmió en saco, y anduvo humillado.
27 Da aber Ahab solche Worte hörte, zerriß er seine Kleider und legte einen Sack an seinen Leib und fastete und schlief im Sack und ging jämmerlich einher.
28 Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
