1 Now after a long time, the word of the Lord came to Elijah, in the third year, saying, Go and let Ahab see you, so that I may send rain on the earth.
1 Bien des jours s'écoulèrent, et la parole de l'Éternel fut ainsi adressée à Élie, dans la troisième année: Va, présente-toi devant Achab, et je ferai tomber de la pluie sur la face du sol.
1 Tar éis tamaill fhada tháinig briathar an Tiarna chun Éilias sa tríú bliain: “Imigh leat agus téigh i bhfianaise Acháb; táim ar tí fearthainn a dháileadh ar an tír.”
1 Pasados muchos días, fué palabra de Jehová á Elías en el tercer año, diciendo: Ve, muéstrate á Achâb, y yo daré lluvia sobre la haz de la tierra.
1 Und über eine lange Zeit kam das Wort des HERRN zu Elia, im dritten Jahr, und sprach: Gehe hin und zeige dich Ahab, daß ich regnen lasse auf Erden.
2 So Elijah went to let Ahab see him. Now there was no food to be had in Samaria.
2 Et Élie alla, pour se présenter devant Achab. La famine était grande à Samarie.
2 D'imigh Éilias leis le dul i bhfianaise Acháb. De bhrí gur ghoill an gorta go trom ar an tSamáir
2 Fué pues Elías á mostrarse á Achâb. Había á la sazón grande hambre en Samaria.
2 Und Elia ging hin, daß er sich Ahab zeigte. Es war aber eine große Teuerung zu Samaria.
3 And Ahab sent for Obadiah, the controller of the king's house. (Now Obadiah had the fear of the Lord before him greatly;
3 Et Achab fit appeler Abdias, chef de sa maison. -Or Abdias craignait beaucoup l'Éternel;
3 chuir Acháb fios ar Obaidiá, reachtaire an pháláis, agus fear a raibh an-urraim aige don Tiarna.
3 Y Achâb llamó á Abdías su mayordomo, el cual Abdías era en grande manera temeroso de Jehová;
3 Und Ahab rief Obadja, seinen Hofmeister. (Obadja aber fürchtete den HERRN sehr.
4 For when Jezebel was cutting off the prophets of the Lord, Obadiah took a hundred of them, and kept them secretly in a hole in the rock, fifty at a time, and gave them bread and water.)
4 et lorsque Jézabel extermina les prophètes de l'Éternel, Abdias prit cent prophètes qu'il cacha cinquante par cinquante dans une caverne, et il les avait nourris de pain et d'eau. -
4 Nuair a bhí Ízeibil ag bású fáithe an Tiarna, rug Obaidiá céad fáidh leis agus chuir i bhfolach iad, leathchéad díobh sa turas, agus bheathaigh sé iad le harán agus le huisce.
4 Porque cuando Jezabel destruía á los profetas de Jehová, Abdías tomó cien profetas, los cuales escondió de cincuenta en cincuenta por cuevas, y sustentólos á pan y agua.
4 Denn da Isebel die Propheten des HERRN ausrottete, nahm Obadja hundert Propheten und versteckte sie in Höhlen, hier fünfzig und da fünfzig, und versorgte sie mit Brot und Wasser.)
5 And Ahab said to Obadiah, Come, let us go through all the country, to all the fountains of water and all the rivers, and see if there is any grass to be had for the horses and the transport beasts, so that we may be able to keep some of the beasts from destruction.
5 Achab dit à Abdias: Va par le pays vers toutes les sources d'eau et vers tous les torrents; peut-être se trouvera-t-il de l'herbe, et nous conserverons la vie aux chevaux et aux mulets, et nous n'aurons pas besoin d'abattre du bétail.
5 Dúirt Acháb le hObaidiá: “Téanam, ní foláir dúinn an tír a chuardach idir thoibreacha agus ghleannta, le súil go bhfaighimis féar a choimeádfadh ár gcapaill agus ar miúileanna beo, agus nach gcaithfimis cuid dár stoc a mharú.”
5 Y dijo Achâb á Abdías: Ve por el país á todas las fuentes de aguas, y á todos los arroyos; que acaso hallaremos grama con que conservemos la vida á los caballos y á las acémilas, para que no nos quedemos sin bestias.
5 So sprach nun Ahab zu Obadja: Zieh durchs Land zu allen Wasserbrunnen und Bächen, ob wir möchten Heu finden und die Rosse und Maultiere erhalten, daß nicht das Vieh alles umkomme.
6 So they went through all the country, covering it between them; Ahab went in one direction by himself, and Obadiah went in another by himself.
6 Ils se partagèrent le pays pour le parcourir; Achab alla seul par un chemin, et Abdias alla seul par un autre chemin.
6 Roinneadar an tír eatarthu don chuardach; d'imigh Acháb bóthar amháin leis féin, agus d'imigh Obaidiá bóthar eile leis féin.
6 Y partieron entre sí el país para recorrerlo: Achâb fué de por sí por un camino, y Abdías fué separadamente por otro.
6 Und sie teilten sich ins Land, daß sie es durchzogen. Ahab zog allein auf einem Wege und Obadja auch allein den andern Weg.
7 And while Obadiah was on his way, he came face to face with Elijah; and seeing who it was, he went down on his face and said, Is it you, my lord Elijah?
7 Comme Abdias était en route, voici, Élie le rencontra. Abdias, l'ayant reconnu, tomba sur son visage, et dit: Est-ce toi, mon seigneur Élie?
7 Ar an tslí d'Obaidiá, b'sheo chuige ina choinne Éilias: d'aithin sé é agus chrom chun talún agus dúirt: “Nach tú, a thiarna, Éilias?”
7 Y yendo Abdías por el camino, topóse con Elías; y como le conoció, postróse sobre su rostro, y dijo: ¿No eres tú mi señor Elías?
7 Da nun Obadja auf dem Wege war, siehe, da begegnete ihm Elia; und er erkannte ihn, fiel auf sein Antlitz und sprach: Bist du nicht mein Herr Elia?
8 And Elijah in answer said, It is I; now go and say to your lord, Elijah is here.
8 Il lui répondit: C'est moi; va, dis à ton maître: Voici Élie!
8 “Is mé sin,” a d'fhreagair sé, “agus imigh leat agus abair le do mháistir: ‘Tá Éilias anseo, féach!’ ”
8 Y él respondió: Yo soy; ve, di á tu amo: He aquí Elías.
8 Er sprach: Ja. Gehe hin und sage deinem Herrn: Siehe, Elia ist hier!
9 And he said, What sin have I done, that you would give up your servant into the hand of Ahab, and be the cause of my death?
9 Et Abdias dit: Quel péché ai-je commis, pour que tu livres ton serviteur entre les mains d'Achab, qui me fera mourir?
9 Ach dúirt Obaidiá: “Cén peaca a rinne mé a rá is go gcuirfeá do shearbhónta i láimh Acháb le go marófaí mé?
9 Pero él dijo: ¿En qué he pecado, para que tú entregues tu siervo en mano de Achâb para que me mate?
9 Er aber sprach: Was habe ich gesündigt, daß du deinen Knecht willst in die Hände Ahabs geben, daß er mich töte?
10 By the life of the Lord your God, there is not a nation or kingdom where my lord has not sent in search of you; and when they said, He is not here; he made them take an oath that they had not seen you.
10 L'Éternel est vivant! il n'est ni nation ni royaume où mon maître n'ait envoyé pour te chercher; et quand on disait que tu n'y étais pas, il faisait jurer le royaume et la nation que l'on ne t'avait pas trouvé.
10 Dar an Tiarna do Dhia beo, níl aon chine ná ríocht nár chuir mo thiarna tóir ort ann; agus nuair a deiridís: ‘Níl sé anseo,’ chuireadh sé an ríocht nó an náisiún faoi mhionn nach raibh tú faighte acu.
10 Vive Jehová tu Dios, que no ha habido nación ni reino donde mi señor no haya enviado á buscarte; y respondiendo ellos: No está aquí, él ha conjurado á reinos y naciones si no te han hallado.
10 So wahr der HERR, dein Gott, lebt, es ist kein Volk noch Königreich, dahin mein Herr nicht gesandt hat, dich zu suchen; und wenn sie sprachen: Er ist nicht hier, nahm er einen Eid von dem Königreich und Volk, daß man dich nicht gefunden hätte.
11 And now you say, Go, say to your lord, Elijah is here.
11 Et maintenant tu dis: Va, dis à ton maître: Voici Élie!
11 Agus anois deir tú liom: ‘Imigh leat agus abair le do mháistir: Tá Éilias anseo!’
11 ¿Y ahora tú dices: Ve, di á tu amo: Aquí está Elías?
11 Und du sprichst nun: Gehe hin, sage deinem Herrn: Siehe, Elia ist hier!
12 And straight away, when I have gone from you, the spirit of the Lord will take you away, I have no idea where, so that when I come and give word to Ahab, and he sees you not, he will put me to death: though I, your servant, have been a worshipper of the Lord from my earliest years.
12 Puis, lorsque je t'aurai quitté l'esprit de l'Éternel te transportera je ne sais où; et j'irai informer Achab, qui ne te trouvera pas, et qui me tuera. Cependant ton serviteur craint l'Éternel dès sa jeunesse.
12 A luaithe a imeoidh mise uait, fuadóidh spiorad an Tiarna thú go ball éigin nach eol domsa. Tiocfaidh mise agus déarfaidh mé é le hAcháb agus nuair nach bhféadfaidh sé thú a fháil, cuirfidh sé chun báis mé cé gur thug mise, do shearbhónta, urraim don Tiarna riamh óna óige.
12 Y acontecerá que, luego que yo me haya partido de ti, el espíritu de Jehová te llevará donde yo no sepa; y viniendo yo, y dando las nuevas á Achâb, y no hallándote él, me matará; y tu siervo teme á Jehová desde su mocedad.
12 Wenn ich nun hinginge von dir, so würde dich der Geist des HERRN wegnehmen, weiß nicht, wohin; und wenn ich dann käme und sagte es Ahab an und er fände dich nicht, so erwürgte er mich. Aber dein Knecht fürchtet den HERRN von seiner Jugend auf.
13 Has my lord not had word of what I did when Jezebel was putting the Lord's prophets to death? how I kept a hundred of them in a secret hole in the rock, fifty at a time, and gave them bread and water?
13 N'a-t-on pas dit à mon seigneur ce que j'ai fait quand Jézabel tua les prophètes de l'Éternel? J'ai caché cent prophètes de l'Éternel, cinquante par cinquante dans une caverne, et je les ai nourris de pain et d'eau.
13 Nár insíodh do mo thiarna céard a rinne mé nuair a bhí Ízeibil ag bású fáithe an Tiarna, conas mar a chuir mé céad duine d'fháithe an Tiarna i bhfolach, leathchéad díobh sa turas, agus a bheathaigh mé iad le harán agus le huisce.
13 ¿No ha sido dicho á mi señor lo que hice, cuando Jezabel mataba á los profetas de Jehová que escondí cien: varones de los profetas de Jehová: que escondí cien varones de los profetas de Jehová de cincuenta en cincuenta en cuevas, y los mantuve á pan y agua?
13 Ist's meinem Herrn nicht angesagt, was ich getan habe, da Isebel die Propheten des HERR erwürgte? daß ich der Propheten des HERRN hundert versteckte, hier fünfzig und da fünfzig, in Höhlen und versorgte sie mit Brot und Wasser?
14 And now you say, Go and say to your Lord, Elijah is here; and he will put me to death.
14 Et maintenant tu dis: Va, dis à ton maître: Voici Élie! Il me tuera.
14 Agus anois deir tú liom: ‘Imigh leat agus abair le do mháistir: Tá Éilias anseo!’ Maróidh sé mé!”
14 ¿Y ahora dices tú: Ve, di á tu amo: Aquí está Elías: para que él me mate?
14 Und du sprichst nun: Gehe hin, sage deinem Herrn: Elia ist hier! daß er mich erwürge.
15 And Elijah said, By the life of the Lord of armies, whose servant I am, I will certainly let him see me today.
15 Mais Élie dit: L'Éternel des armées, dont je suis le serviteur, est vivant! aujourd'hui je me présenterai devant Achab.
15 D'fhreagair Éilias: “Dar Tiarna beo na Slua, dá ndéanaim seirbhís, seasóidh mé ina fhianaise inniu.”
15 Y díjole Elías: Vive Jehová de los ejércitos, delante del cual estoy, que hoy me mostraré á él.
15 Elia sprach: So wahr der HERR Zebaoth lebt, vor dem ich stehe, ich will mich ihm heute zeigen.
16 So Obadiah went to Ahab and gave him the news; and Ahab went to see Elijah.
16 Abdias, étant allé à la rencontre d'Achab, l'informa de la chose. Et Achab se rendit au-devant d'Élie.
16 D'imigh Obaidiá ar lorg Acháb agus thug sé an scéala dó, agus d'imigh Acháb ansin in airicis Éilias.
16 Entonces Abdías fué á encontrarse con Achâb, y dióle el aviso; y Achâb vino á encontrarse con Elías.
16 Da ging Obadja hin Ahab entgegen und sagte es ihm an. Und Ahab ging hin Elia entgegen.
17 And when he saw Elijah, Ahab said to him, Is it you, you troubler of Israel?
17 A peine Achab aperçut-il Élie qu'il lui dit: Est-ce toi, qui jettes le trouble en Israël?
17 Nuair a chonaic Acháb Éilias, dúirt sé leis: “Ansin duit, a sciúirse Iosrael!”
17 Y como Achâb vió á Elías, díjole Achâb: ¿Eres tú el que alborotas á Israel?
17 Und da Ahab Elia sah, sprach Ahab zu ihm: Bist du, der Israel verwirrt?
18 Then he said in answer, I have not been troubling Israel, but you and your family; because, turning away from the orders of the Lord, you have gone after the Baals.
18 Élie répondit: Je ne trouble point Israël; c'est toi, au contraire, et la maison de ton père, puisque vous avez abandonné les commandements de l'Éternel et que tu es allé après les Baals.
18 “Ní mise sciúirse Iosrael, ní mise sin, ach thusa agus teaghlach d'athar, mar thréig sibh [aitheanta] an Tiarna agus lean sibh na Bálaím.
18 Y él respondió: Yo no he alborotado á Israel, sino tú y la casa de tu padre, dejando los mandamientos de Jehová, y siguiendo á los Baales.
18 Er aber sprach: Ich verwirre Israel nicht, sondern Du und deines Vaters Haus, damit daß ihr des HERRN Gebote verlassen habt und wandelt Baalim nach.
19 Now send, and get Israel together before me at Mount Carmel, with the four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal who get their food at Jezebel's table.
19 Fais maintenant rassembler tout Israël auprès de moi, à la montagne du Carmel, et aussi les quatre cent cinquante prophètes de Baal et les quatre cents prophètes d'Astarté qui mangent à la table de Jézabel.
19 Cuir fios ar Iosrael go léir anois más ea agus cruinnigh i mo thimpeall ar Shliabh Chairmeil iad, agus na ceithre chéad go leith fáidh de chuid Bhál chomh maith [agus na ceithre chéad fáidh do chuid Aiséará] a shuíonn chun boird le Ízeibil.” An Tiarna nó Bál
19 Envía pues ahora y júntame á todo Israel en el monte de Carmelo, y los cuatrocientos y cincuenta profetas de Baal, y los cuatrocientos profetas de los bosques, que comen de la mesa de Jezabel.
19 Wohlan, so sende nun hin und versammle zu mir das ganze Israel auf den Berg Karmel und die vierhundertfünfzig Propheten Baals, auch die vierhundert Propheten der Aschera, die vom Tisch Isebels essen.
20 So Ahab sent for all the children of Israel, and got the prophets together at Mount Carmel.
20 Achab envoya des messagers vers tous les enfants d'Israël, et il rassembla les prophètes à la montagne du Carmel.
20 Chuir Acháb tionól ar chlann Iosrael uile agus bhailigh sé na fáithe le chéile ar Shliabh Chairmeil.
20 Entonces Achâb envió á todos los hijos de Israel, y juntó los profetas en el monte de Carmelo.
20 Also sandte Ahab hin unter alle Kinder Israel und versammelte die Propheten auf den Berg Karmel.
21 And Elijah came near to all the people and said, How long will you go on balancing between two opinions? if the Lord is God, then give worship to him; but if Baal, give worship to him. And the people said not a word in answer.
21 Alors Élie s'approcha de tout le peuple, et dit: Jusqu'à quand clocherez-vous des deux côtés? Si l'Éternel est Dieu, allez après lui; si c'est Baal, allez après lui! Le peuple ne lui répondit rien.
21 Shiúil Éilias amach os comhair an phobail go léir agus dúirt: “Cá fhad atá sé ar intinn agaibh a bheith ag bacadhradh, seal ar leathchois amháin, agus seal ar an gceann eile? Más é an Tiarna is Dia ann, leanaigí é, más é Bál, leanaigí eisean.” Ní raibh focal as an bpobal.
21 Y acercándose Elías á todo el pueblo, dijo: ¿Hasta cuándo claudicaréis vosotros entre dos pensamientos? Si Jehová es Dios, seguidle; y si Baal, id en pos de él. Y el pueblo no respondió palabra.
21 Da trat Elia zu allem Volk und sprach: Wie lange hinkt ihr auf beide Seiten? Ist der HERR Gott, so wandelt ihm nach; ist's aber Baal, so wandelt ihm nach. Und das Volk antwortete ihm nichts.
22 Then Elijah said to the people, I, even I, am the only living prophet of the Lord; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men.
22 Et Élie dit au peuple: Je suis resté seul des prophètes de l'Éternel, et il y a quatre cent cinquante prophètes de Baal.
22 Ansin dúirt Éilias leo: “Mise agus mise amháin a fágadh mar fháidh de chuid an Tiarna, ach tá ceithre chéad go leith fáidh de chuid Bhál ann.
22 Y Elías tornó á decir al pueblo: Sólo yo he quedado profeta de Jehová; mas de los profetas de Baal hay cuatrocientos y cincuenta hombres.
22 Da sprach Elia zum Volk: Ich bin allein übriggeblieben als Prophet des HERRN; aber der Propheten Baals sind vierhundertfünfzig Mann.
23 Now, let them give us two oxen; and let them take one for themselves, and have it cut up, and put it on the wood, but put no fire under it; I will get the other ox ready, and put it on the wood, and put no fire under it.
23 Que l'on nous donne deux taureaux; qu'ils choisissent pour eux l'un des taureaux, qu'ils le coupent par morceaux, et qu'ils le placent sur le bois, sans y mettre le feu; et moi, je préparerai l'autre taureau, et je le placerai sur le bois, sans y mettre le feu.
23 Tugtar dhá tharbh chugainn; toghadh siadsan ceann amháin dóibh féin, déanaidís codanna de agus cuiridís ar an gconnadh é ach gan tine ar bith a lasadh faoi. Ullmhóidh mise an tarbh eile agus cuirfidh mé ar an gconnadh é gan tine ar bith a lasadh faoi.
23 Dénsenos pues dos bueyes, y escójanse ellos el uno, y córtenlo en pedazos, y pónganlo sobre leña, mas no pongan fuego debajo; y yo aprestaré el otro buey, y pondrélo sobre leña, y ningún fuego pondré debajo.
23 So gebt uns zwei Farren und laßt sie erwählen einen Farren und ihn zerstücken und aufs Holz legen und kein Feuer daran legen; so will ich den andern Farren nehmen und aufs Holz legen und auch kein Feuer daran legen.
24 And do you make prayers to your god, and I will make a prayer to the Lord: and it will be clear that the one who gives an answer by fire is God. And all the people in answer said, It is well said.
24 Puis invoquez le nom de votre dieu; et moi, j'invoquerai le nom de l'Éternel. Le dieu qui répondra par le feu, c'est celui-là qui sera Dieu. Et tout le peuple répondit, en disant: C'est bien!
24 Glaoigí ar ainm bhur ndé agus glaofaidh mise ar ainm an Tiarna; an dia a fhreagróidh le tine, is é is Dia dáiríre ann.” D'fhreagair an pobal go léir: “Tá go maith.”
24 Invocad luego vosotros en el nombre de vuestros dioses, y yo invocaré en el nombre de Jehová: y el Dios que respondiere por fuego, ése sea Dios. Y todo el pueblo respondió, diciendo: Bien dicho.
24 So rufet ihr an den Namen eures Gottes, und ich will den Namen des HERRN anrufen. Welcher Gott nun mit Feuer antworten wird, der sei Gott. Und das ganze Volk antwortete und sprach: Das ist recht.
25 Then Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, Take one ox for yourselves and get it ready first, for there are more of you; and make your prayers to your god, but put no fire under.
25 Élie dit aux prophètes de Baal: Choisissez pour vous l'un des taureaux, préparez-le les premiers, car vous êtes les plus nombreux, et invoquez le nom de votre dieu; mais ne mettez pas le feu.
25 Dúirt Éilias ansin le fáithe Bhál: “Toghaigí tarbh agus tosaígí mar is líonmhaire sibhse. Glaoigí ar ainm bhur ndé; ach ná lasaigí tine faoi.”
25 Entonces Elías dijo á los profetas de Baal: Escogeos el un buey, y haced primero, pues que vosotros sois los más: é invocad en el nombre de vuestros dioses, mas no pongáis fuego debajo.
25 Und Elia sprach zu den Propheten Baals: Erwählt ihr einen Farren und richtet zu am ersten, denn euer ist viel; und ruft eures Gottes Namen an und legt kein Feuer daran.
26 So they took the ox which was given them, and made it ready, crying out to Baal from morning till the middle of the day, and saying, O Baal, give ear to us. But there was no voice and no answer. And they were jumping up and down before the altar they had made.
26 Ils prirent le taureau qu'on leur donna, et le préparèrent; et ils invoquèrent le nom de Baal, depuis le matin jusqu'à midi, en disant: Baal réponds nous! Mais il n'y eut ni voix ni réponse. Et ils sautaient devant l'autel qu'ils avaient fait.
26 Ghlac siad an tarbh a tugadh dóibh agus d'ullmhaíodar é agus ó mhaidin go meán lae bhí siad ag glaoch ar ainm Bhál. “A Bhál,” a ghlaodar, “tabhair freagra orainn!” Ach ní raibh guth ná freagra le cloisteáil agus iad ag damhsa go bacach thart timpeall ar an altóir a bhí déanta acu.
26 Y ellos tomaron el buey que les fué dado, y aprestáronlo, é invocaron en el nombre de Baal desde la mañana hasta el medio día, diciendo: ¡Baal, respóndenos! Mas no había voz, ni quien respondiese; entre tanto, ellos andaban saltando cerca del altar que habían hecho.
26 Und sie nahmen den Farren, den man ihnen gab, und richteten zu und riefen an den Namen Baals vom Morgen bis an den Mittag und sprachen: Baal, erhöre uns! Aber es war da keine Stimme noch Antwort. Und sie hinkten um den Altar, den sie gemacht hatten.
27 And in the middle of the day, Elijah made sport of them, saying, Give louder cries, for he is a god; he may be deep in thought, or he may have gone away for some purpose, or he may be on a journey, or by chance he is sleeping and has to be made awake.
27 A midi, Élie se moqua d'eux, et dit: Criez à haute voix, puisqu'il est dieu; il pense à quelque chose, ou il est occupé, ou il est en voyage; peut-être qu'il dort, et il se réveillera.
27 Tháinig an meán lae agus bhí Éilias ag magadh fúthu: “Glaoigí níos airde,” ar seisean, “mar is dia é; tá sé gafa nó cruógach, nó imithe ar thuras, nó b'fhéidir gur ina chodladh atá sé agus nach mór é a dhúiseacht.”
27 Y aconteció al medio día, que Elías se burlaba de ellos, diciendo: Gritad en alta voz, que dios es: quizá está conversando, ó tiene algún empeño, ó va de camino; acaso duerme, y despertará.
27 Da es nun Mittag ward, spottete ihrer Elia und sprach: Ruft laut! denn er ist ein Gott; er dichtet oder hat zu schaffen oder ist über Feld oder schläft vielleicht, daß er aufwache.
28 So they gave loud cries, cutting themselves with knives and swords, as was their way, till the blood came streaming out all over them.
28 Et ils crièrent à haute voix, et ils se firent, selon leur coutume, des incisions avec des épées et avec des lances, jusqu'à ce que le sang coulât sur eux.
28 Ar an ábhar sin ghlaodar níos airde fós agus shádar iad féin mar ba nós leo le claimhte agus le sleánna nó go raibh an fhuil ina slaoda leo.
28 Y ellos clamaban á grandes voces, y sajábanse con cuchillos y con lancetas conforme á su costumbre, hasta chorrear la sangre sobre ellos.
28 Und sie riefen laut und ritzten sich mit Messern und Pfriemen nach ihrer Weise, bis daß ihr Blut herabfloß.
29 And from the middle of the day they went on with their prayers till the time of the offering; but there was no voice, or any answer, or any who gave attention to them.
29 Lorsque midi fut passé, ils prophétisèrent jusqu'au moment de la présentation de l'offrande. Mais il n'y eut ni voix, ni réponse, ni signe d'attention.
29 Chuaigh an meán lae thart agus bhí siad ag radaireacht leo nó gur tháinig tráth ofrála na habhlainne, ach guth ná freagra ná aird ar bith níor tugadh orthu.
29 Y como pasó el medio día, y ellos profetizaran hasta el tiempo del sacrificio del presente, y no había voz, ni quien respondiese ni escuchase;
29 Da aber Mittag vergangen war, weissagten sie bis um die Zeit, da man Speisopfer tun sollte; und da war keine Stimme noch Antwort noch Aufmerken.
30 Then Elijah said to all the people, Come near to me; and all the people came near. And he put up again the altar of the Lord which had been broken down.
30 Élie dit alors à tout le peuple: Approchez-vous de moi! Tout le peuple s'approcha de lui. Et Élie rétablit l'autel de l'Éternel, qui avait été renversé.

30 Elías dijo entonces á todo el pueblo: Acercaos á mí. Y todo el pueblo se llegó á él: y él reparó el altar de Jehová que estaba arruinado.
30 Da sprach Elia zu allem Volk: Kommt her, alles Volk zu mir! Und da alles Volk zu ihm trat, baute er den Altar des HERRN wieder auf, der zerbrochen war,
31 And Elijah took twelve stones, the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the Lord had said, Israel will be your name:
31 Il prit douze pierres d'après le nombre des tribus des fils de Jacob, auquel l'Éternel avait dit: Israël sera ton nom;
31 Ghlac Éilias dhá chloch déag, ag freagairt d'uimhir na dtreibheanna de chlann mhac Iacóib ar tháinig briathar úd an Tiarna chucu: “Iosrael a ghairfear díbh!”
31 Y tomando Elías doce piedras, conforme al número de las tribus de los hijos de Jacob, al cual había sido palabra de Jehová, diciendo: Israel será tu nombre;
31 und nahm zwölf Steine nach der Zahl der Stämme der Kinder Jakobs (zu welchem das Wort des HERRN redete und sprach: Du sollst Israel heißen),
32 And with the stones he made an altar to the name of the Lord; and he made a deep drain all round the altar, great enough to take two measures of seed.
32 et il bâtit avec ces pierres un autel au nom de l'Éternel. Il fit autour de l'autel un fossé de la capacité de deux mesures de semence.
32 agus rinne sé altóir in ainm an Tiarna de na clocha. Timpeall na haltóra thochail sé díog a bhí mór go leor le dhá mhiosúr síl a choinneáil.
32 Edificó con las piedras un altar en el nombre de Jehová: después hizo una reguera alrededor del altar, cuanto cupieran dos satos de simiente.
32 und baute mit den Steinen einen Altar im Namen des HERRN und machte um den Altar her eine Grube, zwei Kornmaß weit,
33 And he put the wood in order, and, cutting up the ox, put it on the wood. Then he said, Get four vessels full of water and put it on the burned offering and on the wood. And he said, Do it a second time, and they did it a second time;
33 Il arrangea le bois, coupa le taureau par morceaux, et le plaça sur le bois.

33 Compuso luego la leña, y cortó el buey en pedazos, y púsolo sobre la leña.
33 und richtete das Holz zu und zerstückte den Farren und legte ihn aufs Holz
34 And he said, Do it a third time, and they did it a third time.
34 Puis il dit: Remplissez d'eau quatre cruches, et versez-les sur l'holocauste et sur le bois. Il dit: Faites-le une seconde fois. Et ils le firent une seconde fois. Il dit: Faites-le une troisième fois. Et ils le firent une troisième fois.
34 Ansin dúirt sé: “Líonaigí ceithre phróca d'uisce agus doirtigí ar an íobairt uileloiscthe agus ar an gconnadh é.” Rinne siad amhlaidh. Dúirt sé: “Déanaigí an dara huair é,” agus rinne. Dúirt sé: “Déanaigí an tríú huair é,” agus rinne.
34 Y dijo: Henchid cuatro cántaros de agua, y derramadla sobre el holocausto y sobre la leña. Y dijo: Hacedlo otra vez; y otra vez lo hicieron. Dijo aún: Hacedlo la tercera vez; é hiciéronlo la tercera vez.
34 und sprach: Holt vier Kad Wasser voll und gießt es auf das Brandopfer und aufs Holz! Und sprach: Tut's noch einmal! Und sie taten's noch einmal. Und er sprach: Tut's zum drittenmal! Und sie taten's zum drittenmal.
35 And the water went all round the altar, till the drain was full.
35 L'eau coula autour de l'autel, et l'on remplit aussi d'eau le fossé.
35 Bhí an t‑uisce ag rith timpeall na haltóra agus bhí an díog féin lán d'uisce.
35 De manera que las aguas corrían alrededor del altar; y había también henchido de agua la reguera.
35 Und das Wasser lief um den Altar her, und die Grube ward auch voll Wasser.
36 Then at the time of the offering, Elijah the prophet came near and said, O Lord, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, let it be seen this day that you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things by your order.
36 Au moment de la présentation de l'offrande, Élie, le prophète, s'avança et dit: Éternel, Dieu d'Abraham, d'Isaac et d'Israël! que l'on sache aujourd'hui que tu es Dieu en Israël, que je suis ton serviteur, et que j'ai fait toutes ces choses par ta parole!
36 Ag tráth ofrála na habhlainne sheas Éilias fáidh chun tosaigh: “A Thiarna, a Dhia Abrahám, Íosác agus Iosrael,” ar seisean, “tabhair le fios dóibh inniu gur tusa is Dia in Iosrael agus gur mise do shearbhónta, agus go ndéarna mé na rudaí seo uile ar ordú uaitse.
36 Y como llegó la hora de ofrecerse el holocausto, llegóse el profeta Elías, y dijo: Jehová Dios de Abraham, de Isaac, y de Israel, sea hoy manifiesto que tú eres Dios en Israel, y que yo soy tu siervo, y que por mandato tuyo he hecho todas estas cosas.
36 Und da die Zeit war, Speisopfer zu opfern, trat Elia, der Prophet, herzu und sprach: HERR, Gott Abrahams, Isaaks und Israels, laß heute kund werden, daß du Gott in Israel bist und ich dein Knecht, und daß ich solches alles nach deinem Wort getan habe!
37 Give me an answer, O Lord, give me an answer, so that this people may see that you are God, and that you have made their hearts come back again.
37 Réponds-moi, Éternel, réponds-moi, afin que ce peuple reconnaisse que c'est toi, Éternel, qui es Dieu, et que c'est toi qui ramènes leur coeur!
37 Freagair mé, a Thiarna, freagair mé, ionas go mbeidh a fhios ag an bpobal seo gur tusa, a Thiarna, is Dia agus go bhfuil tú ag iompó a gcroí ar ais chugat!”
37 Respóndeme, Jehová, respóndeme; para que conozca este pueblo que tú, oh Jehová, eres el Dios, y que tú volviste atrás el corazón de ellos.
37 Erhöre mich HERR, erhöre mich, daß dies Volk wisse, daß du, HERR, Gott bist, daß du ihr Herz darnach bekehrst!
38 Then the fire of the Lord came down, burning up the offering and the wood and the stones and the dust, and drinking up the water in the drain.
38 Et le feu de l'Éternel tomba, et il consuma l'holocauste, le bois, les pierres et la terre, et il absorba l'eau qui était dans le fossé.
38 Ansin thit tine an Tiarna agus loisc sé an íobairt uileloiscthe agus an connadh agus ligh sí suas an t‑uisce sa díog.
38 Entonces cayó fuego de Jehová, el cual consumió el holocausto, y la leña, y las piedras, y el polvo, y aun lamió las aguas que estaban en la reguera.
38 Da fiel das Feuer des HERRN herab und fraß Brandopfer, Holz, Steine und Erde und leckte das Wasser auf in der Grube.
39 And when the people saw it, they all went down on their faces, and said, The Lord, he is God, the Lord, he is God.
39 Quand tout le peuple vit cela, ils tombèrent sur leur visage et dirent: C'est l'Éternel qui est Dieu! C'est l'Éternel qui est Dieu!

39 Y viéndolo todo el pueblo, cayeron sobre sus rostros, y dijeron: ¡Jehová es el Dios! ¡Jehová es el Dios!
39 Da das alles Volk sah, fiel es auf sein Angesicht und sprach: Der HERR ist Gott, der HERR ist Gott!
40 And Elijah said to them, Take the prophets of Baal, let not one of them get away. So they took them, and Elijah made them go down to the stream Kishon, and put them to death there.
40 Saisissez les prophètes de Baal, leur dit Élie; qu'aucun d'eux n'échappe! Et ils les saisirent. Élie les fit descendre au torrent de Kison, où il les égorgea.
40 Dúirt Éilias: “Gabhaigí fáithe Bhál agus ná ligigí d'aon duine díobh éalú.” Ghabhadar iad agus thug Éilias síos go Gleann Chíseon iad agus bhásaigh ansiúd iad.
40 Y díjoles Elías: Prended á los profetas de Baal, que no escape ninguno. Y ellos los prendieron; y llevólos Elías al arroyo de Cisón, y allí los degolló.
40 Elia aber sprach zu ihnen: Greift die Propheten Baals, daß ihrer keiner entrinne! und sie griffen sie. Und Elia führte sie hinab an den Bach Kison und schlachtete sie daselbst.
41 Then Elijah said to Ahab, Up! take food and drink, for there is a sound of much rain.
41 Et Élie dit à Achab: Monte, mange et bois; car il se fait un bruit qui annonce la pluie.
41 Dúirt Éilias le hAcháb: “Gabh ar ais agus bí ag ithe agus ag ól, mar cluinim tormán na fearthainne.”
41 Y entonces Elías dijo á Achâb: Sube, come y bebe; porque una grande lluvia suena.
41 Und Elia sprach zu Ahab: Zieh hinauf, iß und trink; denn es rauscht, als wollte es sehr regnen.
42 So Ahab went up to have food and drink, while Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he went down on the earth, putting his face between his knees.
42 Achab monta pour manger et pour boire. Mais Élie monta au sommet du Carmel; et, se penchant contre terre, il mit son visage entre ses genoux,
42 Nuair a d'imigh Acháb ar ais le bia agus deoch a chaitheamh, chuaigh Éilias suas go barr Chairmeil, d'umhlaigh sé go talamh agus chuir a aghaidh idir a ghlúine.
42 Y Achâb subió á comer y á beber. Y Elías subió á la cumbre del Carmelo; y postrándose en tierra, puso su rostro entre las rodillas.
42 Und da Ahab hinaufzog, zu essen und zu trinken, ging Elia auf des Karmels Spitze und bückte sich zur Erde und tat sein Haupt zwischen seine Kniee
43 And he said to his servant, Go now, and take a look in the direction of the sea. And he went up, and after looking said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times; and he went seven times.
43 et dit à son serviteur: Monte, regarde du côté de la mer. Le serviteur monta, il regarda, et dit: Il n'y a rien. Élie dit sept fois: Retourne.
43 “Gabh suas anois,” ar sé lena sheirbhíseach, “agus féach amach i dtreo na farraige.” Chuaigh sé suas agus d'fhéach sé. “Níl rud ar bith ann,” ar seisean. “Gabh ar ais seacht n‑uaire,” arsa Éilias.
43 Y dijo á su criado: Sube ahora, y mira hacia la mar. Y él subió, y miró, y dijo: No hay nada. Y él le volvió á decir: Vuelve siete veces.
43 und sprach zu seinem Diener: Geh hinauf und schau zum Meer zu! Er ging hinauf und schaute und sprach: Es ist nichts da. Er sprach: Geh wieder hin siebenmal!
44 And the seventh time he said, I see a cloud coming up out of the sea, as small as a man's hand. Then he said, Go up and say to Ahab, Get your carriage ready and go down or the rain will keep you back.
44 A la septième fois, il dit: Voici un petit nuage qui s'élève de la mer, et qui est comme la paume de la main d'un homme. Élie dit: Monte, et dis à Achab: Attelle et descends, afin que la pluie ne t'arrête pas.
44 An seachtú huair dúirt an seirbhíseach: “Tá scamall ann anois, chomh beag le láimh duine, ag éirí as an bhfarraige.” Dúirt Éilias: “Imigh suas agus abair le hAcháb: ‘Ullmhaigh an carbad agus téigh síos, sula gcuire an fhearthainn cúl ort.’ ”
44 Y á la séptima vez dijo: Yo veo una pequeña nube como la palma de la mano de un hombre, que sube de la mar. Y él dijo: Ve, y di á Achâb: Unce y desciende, porque la lluvia no te ataje.
44 Und beim siebentenmal sprach er: Siehe, es geht eine kleine Wolke auf aus dem Meer wie eines Mannes Hand. Er sprach: Geh hinauf und sage Ahab: Spanne an und fahre hinab, daß dich der Regen nicht ergreife!
45 And after a very little time, the heaven became black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab went in his carriage to Jezreel.
45 En peu d'instants, le ciel s'obscurcit par les nuages, le vent s'établit, et il y eut une forte pluie. Achab monta sur son char, et partit pour Jizreel.

45 Y aconteció, estando en esto, que los cielos se oscurecieron con nubes y viento; y hubo una gran lluvia. Y subiendo Achâb, vino á Jezreel.
45 Und ehe man zusah, ward der Himmel schwarz von Wolken und Wind, und kam ein großer Regen. Ahab aber fuhr und zog gen Jesreel.
46 And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah; and he made himself strong, and went running before Ahab till they came to Jezreel.
46 Et la main de l'Éternel fut sur Élie, qui se ceignit les reins et courut devant Achab jusqu'à l'entrée de Jizreel.
