1 Now Hiram, king of Tyre, hearing that Solomon had been made king in place of his father, sent his servants to him; for Hiram had ever been a friend to David.
1 Hiram, roi de Tyr, envoya ses serviteurs vers Salomon, car il apprit qu'on l'avait oint pour roi à la place de son père, et il avait toujours aimé David.
1 Chuir Híorám rí na Tuíre toscaireacht ag triall ar Sholamh nuair a chuala sé gur ungadh é ina rí i gcomharbacht ar a athair mar ba chara riamh é Híorám do Dháiví.
1 Hiram rey de Tiro envió también sus siervos á Salomón, luego que oyó que lo habían ungido por rey en lugar de su padre: porque Hiram había siempre amado á David.
1 Und Hiram, der König zu Tyrus, sandte seine Knechte zu Salomo; denn er hatte gehört, daß sie ihn zum König gesalbt hatten an seines Vaters Statt. Denn Hiram liebte David sein Leben lang.
2 And Solomon sent back word to Hiram, saying,

3 You have knowledge that David my father was not able to make a house for the name of the Lord his God, because of the wars which were round him on every side, till the Lord put all those who were against him under his feet.
3 Tu sais que David, mon père, n'a pas pu bâtir une maison à l'Éternel, son Dieu, à cause des guerres dont ses ennemis l'ont enveloppé jusqu'à ce que l'Éternel les eût mis sous la plante de ses pieds.
3 “Tá a fhios agat nach raibh ar chumas Dháiví m'athair teach a thógáil d'ainm an Tiarna a Dhia, mar go raibh cogadh á chur ag a naimhde air ó gach taobh nó gur bhrúigh an Tiarna faoina chois iad.
3 Tú sabes como mi padre David no pudo edificar casa al nombre de Jehová su Dios, por las guerras que le cercaron, hasta que Jehová puso sus enemigos bajo las plantas de sus pies.
3 Du weißt, daß mein Vater David nicht konnte bauen ein Haus dem Namen des HERRN, seines Gottes, um des Krieges willen, der um ihn her war, bis sie der HERR unter seiner Füße Sohlen gab.
4 But now the Lord my God has given me rest on every side; no one is making trouble, and no evil is taking place.
4 Maintenant l'Éternel, mon Dieu, m'a donné du repos de toutes parts; plus d'adversaires, plus de calamités!
4 Ach tá suaimhneas tugtha dom ag an Tiarna mo Dhia ar gach taobh, gan namhaid agam ná tubaiste.
4 Ahora Jehová mi Dios me ha dado reposo por todas partes; que ni hay adversarios, ni mal encuentro.
4 Nun aber hat mir der HERR, mein Gott, Ruhe gegeben umher, daß kein Widersacher noch böses Hindernis mehr ist.
5 And so it is my purpose to make a house for the name of the Lord my God, as he said to David my father, Your son, whom I will make king in your place, will be the builder of a house for my name.
5 Voici, j'ai l'intention de bâtir une maison au nom de l'Éternel, mon Dieu, comme l'Éternel l'a déclaré à David, mon père, en disant: Ton fils que je mettrai à ta place sur ton trône, ce sera lui qui bâtira une maison à mon nom.
5 Tá sé beartaithe agam dá bhrí sin teach a thógáil d'ainm an Tiarna mo Dhia, faoi mar a dúirt an Tiarna le Dáiví m'athair - ‘Do mhac, an té a chuirfidh mé ina shuí i do ríchathaoir i d'áit, eisean a thógfaidh an teach do m'ainm.’
5 Yo por tanto he determinado ahora edificar casa al nombre de Jehová mi Dios, como Jehová lo habló á David mi padre, diciendo: Tu hijo, que yo pondré en lugar tuyo en tu trono, él edificará casa á mi nombre.
5 Siehe, so habe ich gedacht, ein Haus zu bauen dem Namen des HERRN, meines Gottes, wie der HERR geredet hat zu meinem Vater David und gesagt: Dein Sohn, den ich an deine Statt setzen werde auf deinen Stuhl, der soll meinem Namen das Haus bauen.
6 So now, will you have cedar-trees from Lebanon cut down for me, and my servants will be with your servants; and I will give you payment for your servants at whatever rate you say; for it is common knowledge that we have no such wood-cutters among us as the men of Zidon.
6 Ordonne maintenant que l'on coupe pour moi des cèdres du Liban. Mes serviteurs seront avec les tiens, et je te paierai le salaire de tes serviteurs tel que tu l'auras fixé; car tu sais qu'il n'y a personne parmi nous qui s'entende à couper les bois comme les Sidoniens.
6 Cuir céadair na Liobáine á ngearradh dom; déanfaidh mo shearbhóntaíse comhar le do shearbhóntaíse, agus díolfaidh mise tuarastal do shearbhóntaíse leat de réir cibé ráta a shocróidh tusa. Níl aon duine againne chomh hoilte ar leagan crann agus atá na Síodónaigh, mar is eol duit.”
6 Manda pues ahora que me corten cedros del Líbano; y mis siervos estarán con los tuyos, y yo te daré por tus siervos el salario que tú dijeres: porque tú sabes bien que ninguno hay entre nosotros que sepa labrar la madera como los Sidonios.
6 So befiehl nun, daß man mir Zedern aus dem Libanon haue, und daß deine Knechte mit meinen Knechten seien. Und den Lohn deiner Knechte will ich dir geben, alles, wie du sagst. Denn du weißt, daß bei uns niemand ist, der Holz zu hauen wisse wie die Sidonier.
7 And these words of Solomon made Hiram glad, and he said, Now may the Lord be praised who has given to David a wise son to be king over this great people.
7 Lorsqu'il entendit les paroles de Salomon, Hiram eut une grande joie, et il dit: Béni soit aujourd'hui l'Éternel, qui a donné à David un fils sage pour chef de ce grand peuple!
7 Nuair a chuala Híorám a raibh ráite ag Solamh, bhí gliondar air, agus dúirt: “Moladh leis an Tiarna inniu,” ar sé, “a thug mac eagnaí do Dháiví le bheith i gceannas ar an gcine mór seo.”
7 Y como Hiram oyó las palabras de Salomón, holgóse en gran manera, y dijo: Bendito sea hoy Jehová, que dió hijo sabio á David sobre este pueblo tan grande.
7 Da Hiram aber hörte die Worte Salomos, freute er sich hoch und sprach: Gelobt sei der HERR heute, der David einen weisen Sohn gegeben hat über dies große Volk.
8 Then Hiram sent to Solomon, saying; The words you sent have been given to me: I will do all your desire in the question of cedar-wood and cypress-wood.
8 Et Hiram fit répondre à Salomon: J'ai entendu ce que tu m'as envoyé dire. Je ferai tout ce qui te plaira au sujet des bois de cèdre et des bois de cyprès.
8 Agus chuir Híorám scéala go dtí Solamh: “Fuair mé do theachtaireacht; táimse sásta a bhfuil uait de chrainn chéadair agus cufróige a sholáthar.
8 Y envió Hiram á decir á Salomón: He oído lo que me mandaste á decir: yo haré todo lo que te pluguiere acerca de la madera de cedro, y la madera de haya.
8 Und Hiram sandte zu Salomo und ließ ihm sagen: Ich habe gehört, was du zu mir gesandt hast. Ich will tun nach allem deinem Begehr mit Zedern-und Tannenholz
9 My men will take them down from Lebanon to the sea, where I will have them corded together to go by sea to whatever place you say, and I will have them cut up there so that you may take them away; as for payment, it will be enough if you give me food for my people.
9 Mes serviteurs les descendront du Liban à la mer, et je les expédierai par mer en radeaux jusqu'au lieu que tu m'indiqueras; là, je les ferai délier, et tu les prendras. Ce que je désire en retour, c'est que tu fournisses des vivres à ma maison.
9 Tabharfaidh [do] shearbhóntaí síos chun na farraige iad ón Liobáin, agus cuirfidh mé á dtarraingt ar cheann téide ar farraige iad go dtí cibé áit a déarfaidh tú; leagfaidh mé ansiúd iad agus beidh siad agatsa. Maidir leatsa, déanfaidh tú lón a sholáthar do mo theaghlach de réir mar a iarrfaidh mé.”
9 Mis siervos la llevarán desde el Líbano á la mar; y yo la pondré en balsas por la mar hasta el lugar que tú me señalares, y allí se desatará, y tú la tomarás: y tú harás mi voluntad en dar de comer á mi familia.
9 Meine Knechte sollen die Stämme vom Libanon hinabbringen ans Meer, und will sie in Flöße legen lassen auf dem Meer bis an den Ort, den du mir wirst ansagen lassen, und will sie daselbst abbinden, und du sollst's holen lassen. Aber du sollst auch mein Begehr tun und Speise geben meinem Gesinde.
10 So Hiram gave Solomon all the cedar-wood and cypress-wood he had need of;
10 Hiram donna à Salomon des bois de cèdre et des bois de cyprès autant qu'il en voulut.
10 Rinne Híorám a raibh d'adhmad céadair agus cufróige ag teastáil ó Sholamh a sholáthar dó,
10 Dió pues Hiram á Salomón madera de cedro y madera de haya todo lo que quiso.
10 Also gab Hiram Salomo Zedern-und Tannenholz nach allem seinem Begehr.
11 And Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of grain, as food for his people, and twenty measures of clear oil; this he did every year.
11 Et Salomon donna à Hiram vingt mille cors de froment pour l'entretien de sa maison et vingt cors d'huile d'olives concassées; c'est ce que Salomon donna chaque année à Hiram.
11 agus thug Solamh fiche míle tomhas cruithneachta do Híorám mar bhia dá theaghlach, agus fiche míle tomhas d'ola ghlan. Thug Solamh an méid sin do Híorám bliain i ndiaidh na bliana.
11 Y Salomón daba á Hiram veinte mil coros de trigo para el sustento de su familia, y veinte coros de aceite limpio: esto daba Salomón á Hiram cada un año.
11 Salomo aber gab Hiram zwanzigtausend Kor Weizen, zu essen für sein Gesinde, und zwanzig Kor gestoßenen Öls. Solches gab Salomo jährlich dem Hiram.
12 Now the Lord had given Solomon wisdom, as he had said to him; and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and they made an agreement together.
12 L'Éternel donna de la sagesse à Salomon, comme il le lui avait promis. Et il y eut paix entre Hiram et Salomon, et ils firent alliance ensemble.
12 Thug an Tiarna eagna mar a gheall sé do Sholamh. Bhí cairdeas idir Híorám agus Solamh agus rinneadar conradh lena chéile beirt.
12 Dió pues Jehová á Salomón sabiduría como le había dicho: y hubo paz entre Hiram y Salomón, é hicieron alianza entre ambos.
12 Und der HERR gab Salomo Weisheit, wie er ihm geredet hatte. Und es war Friede zwischen Hiram und Salomo, und sie machten beide einen Bund miteinander.
13 Then King Solomon got together men for the forced work through all Israel, thirty thousand men in number;
13 Le roi Salomon leva sur tout Israël des hommes de corvée; ils étaient au nombre de trente mille.
13 Rinne Solamh rí meitheal saothair éigeantaigh a thobhach ar Iosrael go léir; tríocha míle fear líon na meithle.
13 Y el rey Salomón impuso tributo á todo Israel, y el tributo fué de treinta mil hombres:
13 Und Salomo hob Fronarbeiter aus von ganz Israel, und ihre Zahl war dreißigtausend Mann,
14 And sent them to Lebanon in bands of ten thousand every month: for a month they were working in Lebanon and for two months in their country, and Adoniram was in control of them.
14 Il les envoya au Liban, dix mille par mois alternativement; ils étaient un mois au Liban, et deux mois chez eux. Adoniram était préposé sur les hommes de corvée.
14 Chuir sé iad seo chun na Liobáine ar a n‑uain, deich míle sa mhí. Chaithidís mí sa Liobáin agus dhá mhí sa bhaile. Bhí Adoiníreám i gceannas na meithle.
14 Los cuales enviaba al Líbano de diez mil en diez mil, cada mes por su turno, viniendo así á estar un mes en el Líbano, y dos meses en sus casas: y Adoniram estaba sobre aquel tributo.
14 und sandte sie auf den Libanon, je einen Monat zehntausend, daß sie einen Monat auf dem Libanon waren und zwei Monate daheim. Und Adoniram war über solche Anzahl.
15 Then he had seventy thousand for the work of transport, and eighty thousand stone-cutters in the mountains;
15 Salomon avait encore soixante-dix mille hommes qui portaient les fardeaux et quatre-vingt mille qui taillaient les pierres dans la montagne,
15 Bhí seachtó míle de lucht iompair agus ceithre fichid míle de lucht gearrtha cloch ag Solamh sna sléibhte,
15 Tenía también Salomón setenta mil que llevaban las cargas, y ochenta mil cortadores en el monte;
15 Und Salomo hatte siebzigtausend, die Last trugen, und achtzigtausend, die da Steine hieben auf dem Berge,
16 In addition to the chiefs of the responsible men put by Solomon to oversee the work, three thousand and three hundred in authority over the workmen.
16 sans compter les chefs, au nombre de trois mille trois cents, préposés par Salomon sur les travaux et chargés de surveiller les ouvriers.
16 agus, ina dteanntasan, saoistí na bhfeidhmeannach a bhí i bhfeighil na hoibre, trí mhíle trí chéad díobh i gceannas na bhfear a bhí i mbun na hoibre.
16 Sin los principales oficiales de Salomón que estaban sobre la obra, tres mil y trescientos, los cuales tenían cargo del pueblo que hacía la obra.
16 ohne die obersten Amtleute Salomos, die über das Werk gesetzt waren: dreitausenddreihundert, welche über das Volk herrschten, das da am Werk arbeitete.
17 By the king's orders great stones, stones of high price, were cut out, so that the base of the house might be made of squared stone.
17 Le roi ordonna d'extraire de grandes et magnifiques pierres de taille pour les fondements de la maison.
17 Ar ordú an rí bhaineadar clocha móra suaitheantasacha chun máithreacha an Teampaill a leagan le clocha gearrtha.
17 Y mandó el rey que trajesen grandes piedras, piedras de precio, para los cimientos de la casa, y piedras labradas.
17 und der König gebot, daß sie große und köstliche Steine ausbrächen, gehauene Steine zum Grund des Hauses.
18 Solomon's builders and Hiram's builders did the work of cutting them, and put edges on them, and got the wood and the stone ready for the building of the house.
18 Les ouvriers de Salomon, ceux de Hiram, et les Guibliens, les taillèrent, et ils préparèrent les bois et les pierres pour bâtir la maison.
