1 Now the Philistines were fighting against Israel: and the men of Israel went in flight before the Philistines, falling down wounded in Mount Gilboa.
1 Les Philistins livrèrent bataille à Israël, et les hommes d'Israël prirent la fuite devant les Philistins et tombèrent morts sur la montagne de Guilboa.
1 Chuir na Filistínigh cath ar Iosrael agus theith sluaite Iosrael ó na Filistínigh agus imríodh ár orthu ar Shliabh Ghiolboa.
1 Los Filisteos pues pelearon con Israel, y los de Israel huyeron delante de los Filisteos, y cayeron muertos en el monte de Gilboa.
1 Die Philister aber stritten wider Israel; und die Männer Israels flohen vor den Philistern und fielen erschlagen auf dem Gebirge Gilboa.
2 And the Philistines overtook Saul and his sons; and they put to death Jonathan and Abinadab and Malchi-shua, the sons of Saul.
2 Les Philistins poursuivirent Saül et ses fils, et tuèrent Jonathan, Abinadab et Malkischua, fils de Saül.
2 Lean na Filistínigh go dian ar Shól agus ar a mhic agus mharaíodar Iónátán agus Aibíonádáb agus Mailcíosú, mic Shóil.
2 Y siguiendo los Filisteos á Saúl y á sus hijos, mataron á Jonathán, y á Abinadab, y á Melchîsua, hijos de Saúl.
2 Und die Philister hingen sich an Saul und seine Söhne und erschlugen Jonathan und Abinadab und Malchisua, die Söhne Sauls.
3 And the fight was going badly for Saul, and the archers came across him, and he was wounded by the archers.
3 L'effort du combat porta sur Saül; les archers l'atteignirent, et le blessèrent grièvement.
3 Ghéaraigh ar an gcath in aghaidh Shóil; fuair na saighdiúirí faill air, agus ghoin na saighdiúirí go trom é.
3 Y agravóse la batalla sobre Saúl, y le alcanzaron los flecheros; y tuvo gran temor de los flecheros.
3 Und der Streit ward hart wider Saul, und die Schützen trafen auf ihn mit Bogen, und er ward sehr verwundet von den Schützen.
4 Then Saul said to the servant who had the care of his arms, Take out your sword and put it through me, before these men without circumcision come and make sport of me. But his servant, full of fear, would not do so. Then Saul took out his sword, and falling on it, put an end to himself.
4 Saül dit alors à celui qui portait ses armes: Tire ton épée, et m'en transperce, de peur que ces incirconcis ne viennent me percer et me faire subir leurs outrages. Celui qui portait ses armes ne voulut pas, car il était saisi de crainte. Et Saül prit son épée, et se jeta dessus.
4 Ansin dúirt Sól lena ghiolla airm: “Nocht do chlaíomh agus sáigh tríom é le heagla go dtiocfadh an dream úd gan timpeallghearradh orm agus go sáfaidís mé agus go mbeidís ag fonóid fúm.” Ach bhí an-eagla ar a ghiolla airm agus ní dhéanfadh sé é. Thóg Sól a chlaíomh féin dá bhrí sin agus chaith sé é féin air.
4 Entonces dijo Saúl á su escudero: Saca tu espada, y pásame con ella, porque no vengan estos incircuncisos, y me pasen, y me escarnezcan. Mas su escudero no quería, porque tenía gran temor. Entonces tomó Saúl la espada, y echóse sobre ella.
4 Da sprach Saul zu seinem Waffenträger: Zieh dein Schwert aus und erstich mich damit, daß nicht diese Unbeschnittenen kommen und mich erstechen und treiben ihren Spott mit mir. Aber sein Waffenträger wollte nicht; denn er fürchtete sich sehr. Da nahm Saul das Schwert und fiel hinein.
5 And when his servant saw that Saul was dead, he did the same, and was united with him in death.
5 Celui qui portait les armes de Saül, le voyant mort, se jeta aussi sur son épée, et mourut avec lui.
5 Nuair a chonaic a ghiolla airm go raibh Sól marbh, chaith sé é féin ar a chlaíomh chomh maith agus fuair sé bás in éineacht leis.
5 Y viendo su escudero á Saúl muerto, él también se echó sobre su espada, y murió con él.
5 Da nun sein Waffenträger sah, daß Saul tot war, fiel er auch in sein Schwert und starb mit ihm.
6 So death overtook Saul and his three sons and his servant on the same day.
6 Ainsi périrent en même temps, dans cette journée, Saül et ses trois fils, celui qui portait ses armes, et tous ses gens.
6 D'éag Sól, dá réir sin, agus a thriúr mac agus a ghiolla airm, agus a chuid fear go léir, le chéile an lá céanna.
6 Así murió Saúl en aquel día, juntamente con sus tres hijos, y su escudero, y todos sus varones.
6 Also starb Saul und seine drei Söhne und sein Waffenträger und alle seine Männer zugleich auf diesen Tag.
7 And when the men of Israel across the valley and on the other side of Jordan saw that the army of Israel was in flight and that Saul and his sons were dead, they came out of their towns and went in flight; and the Philistines came and took them for themselves.
7 Ceux d'Israël qui étaient de ce côté de la vallée et de ce côté du Jourdain, ayant vu que les hommes d'Israël s'enfuyaient et que Saül et ses fils étaient morts, abandonnèrent leurs villes pour prendre aussi la fuite. Et les Philistins allèrent s'y établir.
7 Nuair a chonaic na hIosraelaigh a bhí ar an taobh eile den ghleann [agus iad siúd a bhí taobh thall den Iordáin] gur theith saighdiúirí Iosrael agus gur maraíodh Sól agus a chlann mhac, d'fhágadar a gcathracha agus theitheadar. Tháinig na Filistínigh ansin agus chuireadar fúthu iontu.
7 Y los de Israel que eran de la otra parte del valle, y de la otra parte del Jordán, viendo que Israel había huído, y que Saúl y sus hijos eran muertos, dejaron las ciudades y huyeron; y los Filisteos vinieron y habitaron en ellas.
7 Da aber die Männer Israels, die jenseits des Grundes und gegen den Jordan hin waren, sahen, daß die Männer Israels geflohen waren, und daß Saul und seine Söhne tot waren, verließen sie die Städte und flohen auch; so kamen die Philister und wohnten darin.
8 Now on the day after, when the Philistines came to take their goods from the dead, they saw Saul and his three sons dead on the earth in Mount Gilboa.
8 Le lendemain, les Philistins vinrent pour dépouiller les morts, et ils trouvèrent Saül et ses trois fils tombés sur la montagne de Guilboa.
8 Nuair a tháinig na Filistínigh lá arna mhárach chun na mairbh a lomadh, fuaireadar Sól agus a bheirt mhac ar lár ar Shliabh Ghiolboa.
8 Y aconteció el siguiente día, que viniendo los Filisteos á despojar los muertos, hallaron á Saúl y á sus tres hijos tendidos en el monte de Gilboa;
8 Des andern Tages kamen die Philister, die Erschlagenen auszuziehen, und fanden Saul und seine drei Söhne liegen auf dem Gebirge Gilboa
9 And cutting off his head and taking away his war-dress, they sent word into the land of the Philistines round about, to take the news to their gods and to the people.
9 Ils coupèrent la tête de Saül, et enlevèrent ses armes. Puis ils firent annoncer ces bonnes nouvelles par tout le pays des Philistins dans les maisons de leurs idoles et parmi le peuple.
9 Theascadar an ceann de, agus bhaineadar a éide chatha anuas de, agus sheoladar teachtairí ar fud tír na bhFilistíneach chun an dea-scéala a thabhairt dá n‑íola agus dá bpobal.
9 Y cortáronle la cabeza, y desnudáronle las armas; y enviaron á tierra de los Filisteos al contorno, para que lo noticiaran en el templo de sus ídolos, y por el pueblo.
9 und hieben ihm sein Haupt ab und zogen ihm seine Waffen ab und sandten sie in der Philister Land umher, zu verkündigen im Hause ihrer Götzen und unter dem Volk,
10 His war-dress they put in the house of Astarte; and his body was fixed on the wall of Beth-shan.
10 Ils mirent les armes de Saül dans la maison des Astartés, et ils attachèrent son cadavre sur les murs de Beth Schan.
10 Chuireadar a éide chatha i dteampall Aisteárót, agus ghreamaíodar a chorp de bhalla Bhéit Seán.
10 Y pusieron sus armas en el templo de Astaroth, y colgaron su cuerpo en el muro de Beth-san.
10 und legten seine Rüstung in das Haus der Astharoth; aber seinen Leichnam hingen sie auf die Mauer zu Beth-Sean.
11 And when the people of Jabesh-gilead had news of what the Philistines had done to Saul,
11 Lorsque les habitants de Jabès en Galaad apprirent comment les Philistins avaient traité Saül,
11 Ach nuair a chuala laochra Iáibéis Gileád cad a bhí déanta ag na Filistínigh le Sól,
11 Mas oyendo los de Jabes de Galaad esto que los Filisteos hicieron á Saúl,
11 Da die zu Jabes in Gilead hörten, was die Philister Saul getan hatten,
12 All the fighting men got up and, travelling all night, took Saul's body and the bodies of his sons from the wall of Beth-shan; and they came to Jabesh and had them burned there.
12 tous les vaillants hommes se levèrent, et, après avoir marché toute la nuit, ils arrachèrent des murs de Beth Schan le cadavre de Saül et ceux de ses fils. Puis ils revinrent à Jabès, où ils les brûlèrent;
12 chuir na gaiscígh go léir chun bealaigh, agus mháirseáladar i gcaitheamh na hoíche ar fad agus bhaineadar coirp Shóil agus a mhac anuas de bhalla Bhéit Seán, agus thugadar leo iad go Iáibéis agus dhódar ansiúd iad.
12 Todos los hombres valientes se levantaron, y anduvieron toda aquella noche, y quitaron el cuerpo de Saúl y los cuerpos de sus hijos del muro de Beth-san; y viniendo á Jabes, quemáronlos allí.
12 machten sie sich auf, was streitbare Männer waren, und gingen die ganze Nacht und nahmen die Leichname Sauls und seiner Söhne von der Mauer zu Beth-Sean und brachten sie gen Jabes und verbrannten sie daselbst
13 And their bones they put in the earth under a tree in Jabesh; and for seven days they took no food.
13 ils prirent leurs os, et les enterrèrent sous le tamarisc à Jabès. Et ils jeûnèrent sept jours.
