1 Now the Philistines got their armies together for war, and came together at Socoh in the land of Judah, and took up their position between Socoh and Azekah in Ephes-dammim.

1 Y Los Filisteos juntaron sus ejércitos para la guerra, y congregáronse en Sochô, que es de Judá, y asentaron el campo entre Sochô y Azeca, en Ephes-dammim.
1 Die Philister sammelten ihre Heere zum Streit und kamen zusammen zu Socho in Juda und lagerten sich zwischen Socho und Aseka bei Ephes-Dammim.
2 And Saul and the men of Israel came together and took up their position in the valley of Elah, and put their forces in order against the Philistines.
2 Saül et les hommes d'Israël se rassemblèrent aussi; ils campèrent dans la vallée des térébinthes, et ils se mirent en ordre de bataille contre les Philistins.
2 Chruinnigh Sól agus fir Iosrael chomh maith agus shuíodar a gcampa i nGleann Éileá agus chóiríodar iad féin in eagar catha in aghaidh na bhFilistíneach.
2 Y también Saúl y los hombres de Israel se juntaron, y asentaron el campo en el valle del Alcornoque, y ordenaron la batalla contra los Filisteos.
2 Aber Saul und die Männer Israels kamen zusammen und lagerten sich im Eichgrunde und rüsteten sich zum Streit gegen die Philister.
3 The Philistines were stationed on the mountain on one side and Israel on the mountain on the other side: and there was a valley between them.
3 Les Philistins étaient vers la montagne d'un côté, et Israël était vers la montagne de l'autre côté: la vallée les séparait.

3 Und die Philister standen auf einem Berge jenseits und die Israeliten auf einem Berge diesseits, daß ein Tal zwischen ihnen war.
4 And a fighter came out from the tents of the Philistines, named Goliath of Gath; he was more than six cubits tall.
4 Un homme sortit alors du camp des Philistins et s'avança entre les deux armées. Il se nommait Goliath, il était de Gath, et il avait une taille de six coudées et un empan.
4 Thainig gaiscíoch eadrána, darbh ainm Góla as Gat, amach as campa na bhFilistíneach; bhí sé sé bhanlámh go leith ar airde.
4 Salió entonces un varón del campo de los Filisteos que se puso entre los dos campos, el cual se llamaba Goliath, de Gath, y tenía de altura seis codos y un palmo.
4 Da trat aus den Lagern der Philister ein Riese mit Namen Goliath von Gath, sechs Ellen und eine Handbreit hoch;
5 And he had a head-dress of brass on his head, and he was dressed in a coat of metal, the weight of which was five thousand shekels of brass.
5 Sur sa tête était un casque d'airain, et il portait une cuirasse à écailles du poids de cinq mille sicles d'airain.

6 His legs were covered with plates of brass and hanging on his back was a javelin of brass.
6 Il avait aux jambes une armure d'airain, et un javelot d'airain entre les épaules.

6 Y sobre sus piernas traía grebas de hierro, y escudo de acero á sus hombros.

7 The stem of his spear was as long as a cloth-worker's rod, and its head was made of six hundred shekels' weight of iron: and one went before him with his body-cover.
7 Le bois de sa lance était comme une ensouple de tisserand, et la lance pesait six cents sicles de fer. Celui qui portait son bouclier marchait devant lui.

7 Und der Schaft seines Spießes war wie ein Weberbaum, und das Eisen seines Spießes hatte sechshundert Lot Eisen; und sein Schildträger ging vor ihm her.
8 He took up his position and in a loud voice said to the armies of Israel, Why have you come out to make war? Am I not a Philistine and you servants of Saul? Send out a man for yourselves and let him come down to me.
8 Le Philistin s'arrêta; et, s'adressant aux troupes d'Israël rangées en bataille, il leur cria: Pourquoi sortez-vous pour vous ranger en bataille? Ne suis-je pas le Philistin, et n'êtes-vous pas des esclaves de Saül? Choisissez un homme qui descende contre moi!
8 Sheas sé os comhair sluaite Iosrael agus d'fhógair dóibh in ard a chinn agus a ghutha: “Cad ab áil libh amach do bhur gcur féin in eagar catha? Nach Filistíneach mise agus nach sibhse daoir Shóil? Toghaigí fear díbh féin agus tagadh sé anuas i mo aghaidh.
8 Y paróse, y dió voces á los escuadrones de Israel, diciéndoles: ¿Para qué salís á dar batalla? ¿no soy yo el Filisteo, y vosotros los siervos de Saúl? Escoged de entre vosotros un hombre que venga contra mí:
8 Und er stand und rief zu dem Heer Israels und sprach zu ihnen: Was seid ihr ausgezogen, euch zu rüsten in einen Streit? Bin ich nicht ein Philister und ihr Sauls Knechte? Erwählt einen unter euch, der zu mir herabkomme.
9 If he is able to have a fight with me and overcome me, then we will be your servants: but if I am able to overcome him, then you will be our servants and do work for us.
9 S'il peut me battre et qu'il me tue, nous vous serons assujettis; mais si je l'emporte sur lui et que je le tue, vous nous serez assujettis et vous nous servirez.

10 And the Philistine said, I have put to shame the armies of Israel this day; give me a man so that we may have a fight together.

12 Now David was the son of that Ephrathite of Beth-lehem-judah named Jesse, who had eight sons; and he was an old man in Saul's day, and far on in years.
12 Or David était fils de cet Éphratien de Bethléhem de Juda, nommé Isaï, qui avait huit fils, et qui, du temps de Saül, était vieux, avancé en âge.

13 And the three oldest sons of Jesse had gone with Saul to the fight: the names of the three who went to the fight were Eliab, the oldest, and Abinadab the second, and Shammah the third.
13 Les trois fils aînés d'Isaï avaient suivi Saül à la guerre; le premier-né de ses trois fils qui étaient partis pour la guerre s'appelait Éliab, le second Abinadab, et le troisième Schamma.

14 And David was the youngest: and the three oldest were with Saul's army.

16 And the Philistine came near every morning and evening for forty days.

16 Venía pues aquel Filisteo por la mañana y á la tarde, y presentóse por cuarenta días.

17 And Jesse said to his son David, Take now for your brothers an ephah of this dry grain and these ten cakes of bread, and go quickly with them to the tents to your brothers;
17 Isaï dit à David, son fils: Prends pour tes frères cet épha de grain rôti et ces dix pains, et cours au camp vers tes frères;
17 Dúirt Ieise le Dáiví a mhac: “Beir leat an t‑éafá seo de ghrán tíortha agus na deich mbuilíní seo go dtí do dheartháireacha, agus brostaigh ort go campa do dheartháireacha,
17 Y dijo Isaí á David su hijo: Toma ahora para tus hermanos un epha de este grano tostado, y estos diez panes, y llévalo presto al campamento á tus hermanos.
17 Isai aber sprach zu seinem Sohn David: Nimm für deine Brüder dieses Epha geröstete Körner und diese zehn Brote und lauf ins Heer zu deinen Brüdern,
18 And take these ten cheeses to the captain of their thousand, and see how your brothers are and come back with a sign to say how they are.
18 porte aussi ces dix fromages au chef de leur millier. Tu verras si tes frères se portent bien, et tu m'en donneras des nouvelles sûres.

19 Now Saul, and they, and all the men of Israel were in the valley of Elah, fighting with the Philistines.
19 Ils sont avec Saül et tous les hommes d'Israël dans la vallée des térébinthes, faisant la guerre aux Philistins.

20 And David got up early in the morning, and, giving the sheep into the care of a keeper, took the things and went as Jesse had said; and he came to the lines where the carts were, when the army was going out to the fight giving their war-cry.
20 David se leva de bon matin. Il laissa les brebis à un gardien, prit sa charge, et partit, comme Isaï le lui avait ordonné. Lorsqu'il arriva au camp, l'armée était en marche pour se ranger en bataille et poussait des cris de guerre.

20 Levantóse pues David de mañana, y dejando las ovejas al cuidado de un guarda, fuése con su carga, como Isaí le había mandado; y llegó al atrincheramiento del ejército, el cual había salido en ordenanza, y tocaba alarma para la pelea.
20 Da machte sich David des Morgens früh auf und ließ die Schafe dem Hüter und trug und ging hin, wie ihm Isai geboten hatte und kam zur Wagenburg. Und das Heer war ausgezogen und hatte sich gerüstet, und sie schrieen im Streit.
21 And Israel and the Philistines had put their forces in position, army against army.
21 Israël et les Philistins se formèrent en bataille, armée contre armée.

21 Porque así los Israelitas como los Filisteos estaban en ordenanza, escuadrón contra escuadrón.

22 And David gave his parcels into the hands of the keeper of the army stores, and went running to the army and came to his brothers to get knowledge about them.

23 Tandis qu'il parlait avec eux, voici, le Philistin de Gath, nommé Goliath, s'avança entre les deux armées, hors des rangs des Philistins. Il tint les mêmes discours que précédemment, et David les entendit.

24 And all the men of Israel, when they saw him, went in flight, overcome with fear.
24 A la vue de cet homme, tous ceux d'Israël s'enfuirent devant lui et furent saisis d'une grande crainte.

24 Y todos los varones de Israel que veían aquel hombre, huían de su presencia, y tenían gran temor.

25 And the men of Israel said, Have you seen this man? Clearly he has come out to put shame on Israel: and it is certain that if any man overcomes him, the king will give that man great wealth, and will give him his daughter, and make his father's family free in Israel.
25 Chacun disait: Avez-vous vu s'avancer cet homme? C'est pour jeter à Israël un défi qu'il s'est avancé! Si quelqu'un le tue, le roi le comblera de richesses, il lui donnera sa fille, et il affranchira la maison de son père en Israël.
25 Dúirt fir Iosrael: “An bhfaca tú an fear seo ag teacht aníos anois? Tá sé ag teacht chun dúshlán Iosrael a thabhairt. An té a mharóidh é, tabharfaidh an rí mórchuid maoine dó, agus a iníon le pósadh, agus tabharfaidh sé saoirse Iosrael do theaghlach a athar.”
25 Y cada uno de los de Israel decía: ¿No habéis visto aquel hombre que ha salido? él se adelanta para provocar á Israel. Al que le venciere, el rey le enriquecerá con grandes riquezas, y le dará su hija, y hará franca la casa de su padre en Israel.
25 Und jedermann in Israel sprach: Habt ihr den Mann gesehen herauftreten? Denn er ist heraufgetreten Israel Hohn zu sprechen. Und wer ihn schlägt, den will der König sehr reich machen und ihm seine Tochter geben und will seines Vaters Haus freimachen in Israel.
26 And David said to the men near him, What will be done to the man who overcomes this Philistine and takes away the shame from Israel? for who is this Philistine, a man without circumcision, that he has put shame on the armies of the living God?
26 David dit aux hommes qui se trouvaient près de lui: Que fera-t-on à celui qui tuera ce Philistin, et qui ôtera l'opprobre de dessus Israël? Qui est donc ce Philistin, cet incirconcis, pour insulter l'armée du Dieu vivant?
26 Chuir Dáiví ceist ansin ar na fir a bhí ina seasamh taobh leis: “Cén luach saothair a gheobhaidh an té a mharóidh an Filistíneach seo agus a ghlanfaidh an smál d'Iosrael? Cé hé an Filistíneach seo gan timpeallghearradh a bhfuil sé de dhánaíocht aige masla a thabhairt do shluaite Dé bheo?”
26 Entonces habló David á los que junto á él estaban, diciendo: ¿Qué harán al hombre que venciere á este Filisteo, y quitare el oprobio de Israel? Porque ¿quién es este Filisteo incircunciso, para que provoque á los escuadrones del Dios viviente?
26 Da sprach David zu den Männern, die bei ihm standen: Was wird man dem tun, der diesen Philister schlägt und die Schande von Israel wendet? Denn wer ist der Philister, dieser Unbeschnittene, der das Heer des lebendigen Gottes höhnt?
27 And the people gave him this answer, So it will be done to the man who overcomes him.
27 Le peuple, répétant les mêmes choses, lui dit: C'est ainsi que l'on fera à celui qui le tuera.
27 Thug an slua an freagra céanna air á rá: “Sin é an luach saothair a thabharfar don té a mharóidh é.”
27 Y el pueblo le respondió las mismas palabras, diciendo: Así se hará al hombre que lo venciere.

28 And Eliab, his oldest brother, hearing what David said to the men, was moved to wrath against David, and said, Why have you come here? Into whose care have you given that little flock of sheep in the waste land? I have knowledge of your pride and the evil of your heart, you have come down to see the fight.
28 Éliab, son frère aîné, qui l'avait entendu parler à ces hommes, fut enflammé de colère contre David. Et il dit: Pourquoi es-tu descendu, et à qui as-tu laissé ce peu de brebis dans le désert? Je connais ton orgueil et la malice de ton coeur. C'est pour voir la bataille que tu es descendu.
28 Eilíáb, an deartháir ba shine aige, chuala sé é ag caint leis na fir agus tháinig fearg air le Dáiví agus dúirt: “Cad a thug thusa anseo anuas? Cé a d'fhág tú i bhfeighil an chúpla caora úd san fhásach? Is eol dom d'uabhar agus an t‑olc i do chroí; tháinig tú ó dheas chun faire ar an gcath.”
28 Y oyéndole hablar Eliab su hermano mayor con aquellos hombres, Eliab se encendió en ira contra David, y dijo: ¿Para qué has descendido acá? ¿y á quién has dejado aquellas pocas ovejas en el desierto? Yo conozco tu soberbia y la malicia de tu corazón, que para ver la batalla has venido.
28 Und Eliab, sein ältester Bruder, hörte ihn reden mit den Männern und ergrimmte mit Zorn wider David und sprach: Warum bist du herabgekommen? und wem hast du die wenigen Schafe dort in der Wüste gelassen? Ich kenne deine Vermessenheit wohl und deines Herzens Bosheit. Denn du bist herabgekommen, daß du den Streit sehest.
29 And David said, What have I done now? was it not only a word?
29 David répondit: Qu'ai-je donc fait? ne puis-je pas parler ainsi?
29 D'fhreagair Dáiví: “Cad é seo anois atá déanta agam? Cad a bhí ann ach focal?”
29 Y David respondió: ¿Qué he hecho yo ahora? Estas, ¿no son palabras?
29 David antwortete: Was habe ich dir nun getan? Ist mir's nicht befohlen?
30 And turning away from him to one of the other men, he said the same words: and the people gave him the same answer.
30 Et il se détourna de lui pour s'adresser à un autre, et fit les mêmes questions. Le peuple lui répondit comme la première fois.

30 Y apartándose de él hacia otros, habló lo mismo; y respondiéronle los del pueblo como primero.

31 And, hearing what David said, they gave Saul word of it: and he sent for him.
31 Lorsqu'on eut entendu les paroles prononcées par David, on les répéta devant Saül, qui le fit chercher.

31 Y fueron oídas las palabras que David había dicho, las cuales como refiriesen delante de Saúl, él lo hizo venir.
31 Und da sie die Worte hörten, die David sagte, verkündigten sie es vor Saul, und er ließ ihn holen.
32 And David said to Saul, Let no man's heart become feeble because of him; I, your servant, will go out and have a fight with this Philistine.

33 And Saul said to David, You are not able to go out against this Philistine and have a fight with him: for you are only a boy, and he has been a man of war from his earliest days.
33 Saül dit à David: Tu ne peux pas aller te battre avec ce Philistin, car tu es un enfant, et il est un homme de guerre dès sa jeunesse.

33 Y dijo Saúl á David: No podrás tú ir contra aquel Filisteo, para pelear con él; porque tú eres mozo, y él un hombre de guerra desde su juventud.
33 Saul aber sprach zu David: Du kannst nicht hingehen wider diesen Philister, mit ihm zu streiten; denn du bist ein Knabe, dieser aber ist ein Kriegsmann von seiner Jugend auf.
34 And David said to Saul, Your servant has been keeper of his father's sheep; and if a lion or a bear came and took a lamb from the flock,

35 I went out after him, and overcame him, and took it out of his mouth: and if, turning on me, he came at me, I took him by the hair and overcame him and put him to death.

36 Fuese león, fuese oso, tu siervo lo mataba; pues este Filisteo incircunciso será como uno de ellos, porque ha provocado al ejército del Dios viviente.
36 Also hat dein Knecht geschlagen beide, den Löwen und den Bären. So soll nun dieser Philister, der Unbeschnittene, sein gleich wie deren einer; denn er hat geschändet das Heer des lebendigen Gottes.
37 And David said, The Lord, who kept me safe from the grip of the lion and the bear, will be my saviour from the hands of this Philistine. And Saul said to David, Go! and may the Lord be with you.
37 David dit encore: L'Éternel, qui m'a délivré de la griffe du lion et de la patte de l'ours, me délivrera aussi de la main de ce Philistin. Et Saül dit à David: Va, et que l'Éternel soit avec toi!

38 Then Saul gave David his clothing of war, and put a head-dress of brass on his head and had him clothed with a coat of metal.

39 And David took Saul's sword and put the band round him over the metal coat, and was unable to go forward; for he was not used to them. Then David said to Saul, It is not possible for me to go out with these, for I am not used to them. So David took them off.
39 David ceignit l'épée de Saül par-dessus ses habits, et voulut marcher, car il n'avait pas encore essayé. Mais il dit à Saül: Je ne puis pas marcher avec cette armure, je n'y suis pas accoutumé. Et il s'en débarrassa.

39 Y ciñó David su espada sobre sus vestidos, y probó á andar, porque nunca había probado. Y dijo David á Saúl: Yo no puedo andar con esto, porque nunca lo practiqué. Y echando de sí David aquellas cosas,

40 Then he took his stick in his hand, and got five smooth stones from the bed of the stream and put them in a bag such as is used by sheep-keepers; and in his hand was a leather band used for sending stones: and so he went in the direction of the Philistine.

41 And the Philistine came nearer to David; and the man who had his body-cover went before him.

44 And the Philistine said to David, Come here to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field.

45 Then David said to the Philistine, You come to me with a sword and a spear and a javelin: but I come to you in the name of the Lord of armies, the God of the armies of Israel on which you have put shame.
45 David dit au Philistin: Tu marches contre moi avec l'épée, la lance et le javelot; et moi, je marche contre toi au nom de l'Éternel des armées, du Dieu de l'armée d'Israël, que tu as insultée.
45 Ach d'fhreagair Dáiví an Filistíneach: “Tá tú ag teacht i m'aghaidh le claíomh agus le sleá agus le ga, ach táimse ag teacht i d'aghaidhse in ainm Tiarna na Slua, Dia airm Iosrael, ar thug tú a dhúshlán.
45 Entonces dijo David al Filisteo: Tú vienes á mí con espada y lanza y escudo; mas yo vengo á ti en el nombre de Jehová de los ejércitos, el Dios de los escuadrones de Israel, que tú has provocado.
45 David aber sprach zu dem Philister: Du kommst zu mir mit Schwert, Spieß und Schild; ich aber komme zu dir im Namen des HERRN Zebaoth, des Gottes des Heeres Israels, das du gehöhnt hast.
46 This day the Lord will give you up into my hands, and I will overcome you, and take your head off you; and I will give the bodies of the Philistine army to the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth today, so that all the earth may see that Israel has a God;
46 Aujourd'hui l'Éternel te livrera entre mes mains, je t'abattrai et je te couperai la tête; aujourd'hui je donnerai les cadavres du camp des Philistins aux oiseaux du ciel et aux animaux de la terre. Et toute la terre saura qu'Israël a un Dieu.

46 Jehová te entregará hoy en mi mano, y yo te venceré, y quitaré tu cabeza de ti: y daré hoy los cuerpos de los Filisteos á las aves del cielo y á las bestias de la tierra: y sabrá la tierra toda que hay Dios en Israel.
46 Heutigestages wird dich der HERR in meine Hand überantworten, daß ich dich schlage und nehme dein Haupt von dir und gebe die Leichname des Heeres der Philister heute den Vögeln unter dem Himmel und dem Wild auf Erden, daß alles Land innewerde, daß Israel einen Gott hat,
47 And all these people who are here today may see that the Lord does not give salvation by sword and spear: for the fight is the Lord's, and he will give you up into our hands.
47 Et toute cette multitude saura que ce n'est ni par l'épée ni par la lance que l'Éternel sauve. Car la victoire appartient à l'Éternel. Et il vous livre entre nos mains.
47 agus go mbeidh a fhios ag an gcomhthionól seo ar fad nach le claíomh ná le sleá a dhéanann an Tiarna fuascailt, mar is leis an Tiarna an cath agus tabharfaidh sé sibhse isteach inár lámhana.”
47 Y sabrá toda esta congregación que Jehová no salva con espada y lanza; porque de Jehová es la guerra, y él os entregará en nuestras manos.
47 und daß alle diese Gemeinde innewerde, daß der HERR nicht durch Schwert noch Spieß hilft; denn der Streit ist des HERRN, und er wird euch geben in unsre Hände.
48 Now when the Philistine made a move and came near to David, David quickly went at a run in the direction of the army, meeting the Philistine face to face.

49 Y metiendo David su mano en el saco, tomó de allí una piedra, y tirósela con la honda, é hirió al Filisteo en la frente: y la piedra quedó hincada en la frente, y cayó en tierra sobre su rostro.
49 Und David tat seine Hand in die Tasche und nahm einen Stein daraus und schleuderte und traf den Philister an seine Stirn, daß der Stein in seine Stirn fuhr und er zur Erde fiel auf sein Angesicht.
50 So David overcame the Philistine with his leather band and a stone, wounding the Philistine and causing his death: but David had no sword in his hand.
50 Ainsi, avec une fronde et une pierre, David fut plus fort que le Philistin; il le terrassa et lui ôta la vie, sans avoir d'épée à la main.

50 Así venció David al Filisteo con honda y piedra; é hirió al Filisteo y matólo, sin tener David espada en su mano.
50 Also überwand David den Philister mit der Schleuder und mit dem Stein und schlug ihn und tötete ihn. Und da David kein Schwert in seiner Hand hatte,
51 So running up to the Philistine and putting his foot on him, David took his sword out of its cover, and put him to death, cutting off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw that their fighter was dead, they went in flight.
51 Il courut, s'arrêta près du Philistin, se saisit de son épée qu'il tira du fourreau, le tua et lui coupa la tête. Les Philistins, voyant que leur héros était mort, prirent la fuite.

51 Mas corrió David y púsose sobre el Filisteo, y tomando la espada de él, sacándola de su vaina, matólo, y cortóle con ella la cabeza. Y como los Filisteos vieron su gigante muerto, huyeron.
51 lief er und trat zu dem Philister und nahm sein Schwert und zog's aus der Scheide und tötete ihn und hieb ihm den Kopf damit ab. Da aber die Philister sahen, daß ihr Stärkster tot war, flohen sie.
52 And the men of Israel and of Judah got up, and gave a cry, and went after the Philistines as far as Gath and the town doors of Ekron. And the wounded of the Philistines were falling down by the road from Shaaraim all the way to Gath and Ekron.
52 Et les hommes d'Israël et de Juda poussèrent des cris, et allèrent à la poursuite des Philistins jusque dans la vallée et jusqu'aux portes d'Ékron. Les Philistins blessés à mort tombèrent dans le chemin de Schaaraïm jusqu'à Gath et jusqu'à Ékron.
52 Ar aghaidh le fir Iosrael agus Iúdá ag cur a ngáir chatha astu agus chuireadar tóir ar na Filistínigh go himill Ghat agus go geataí Eacrón. Bhí Filistínigh ghonta sa chosair chró ar feadh an bhóthair ó Sheáraím go Gat agus Eacrón.
52 Y levantándose los de Israel y de Judá, dieron grita, y siguieron á los Filisteos hasta llegar al valle, y hasta las puertas de Ecrón. Y cayeron heridos de los Filisteos por el camino de Saraim, hasta Gath y Ecrón.
52 Und die Männer Israels und Juda's machten sich auf und riefen und jagten den Philistern nach, bis man kommt ins Tal und bis an die Tore Ekrons. Und die Philister fielen erschlagen auf dem Wege zu den Toren bis gen Gath und gen Ekron.
53 Then the children of Israel came back from going after the Philistines, and took their goods from the tents.
53 Et les enfants d'Israël revinrent de la poursuite des Philistins, et pillèrent leur camp.

53 Und die Kinder Israel kehrten um von dem Nachjagen der Philister und beraubten ihr Lager.
54 And David took the head of the Philistine to Jerusalem, but the metal war-dress and the arms he put in his tent.
54 David prit la tête du Philistin et la porta à Jérusalem, et il mit dans sa tente les armes du Philistin.

54 Y David tomó la cabeza del Filisteo, y trájola á Jerusalem, mas puso sus armas en su tienda.
54 David aber nahm des Philisters Haupt und brachte es gen Jerusalem; seine Waffen aber legte er in sein Hütte.
55 And when Saul saw David going out against the Philistine, he said to Abner, the captain of the army, Abner, whose son is this young man? And Abner said, On your life, O king, I have no idea.
55 Lorsque Saül avait vu David marcher à la rencontre du Philistin, il avait dit à Abner, chef de l'armée: De qui ce jeune homme est-il fils, Abner? Abner répondit: Aussi vrai que ton âme est vivante, ô roi! je l'ignore.

55 Y cuando Saúl vió á David que salía á encontrarse con el Filisteo, dijo á Abner general del ejército: Abner, ¿de quién es hijo aquel mancebo? Y Abner respondió:
55 Da aber Saul David sah ausgehen wider die Philister, sprach er zu Abner, seinem Feldhauptmann: Wes Sohn ist der Knabe? Abner aber sprach: So wahr deinen Seele lebt, König, ich weiß es nicht.
56 And the king said, Make search and see whose son this young man is.
56 Informe-toi donc de qui ce jeune homme est fils, dit le roi.

57 And when David was coming back after the destruction of the Philistine, Abner took him to Saul, with the head of the Philistine in his hand.
57 Et quand David fut de retour après avoir tué le Philistin, Abner le prit et le mena devant Saül. David avait à la main la tête du Philistin.

57 Y cuando David volvía de matar al Filisteo, Abner lo tomó, y llevólo delante de Saúl, teniendo la cabeza del Filisteo en su mano.
57 Da nun David wiederkam von der Schlacht des Philisters, nahm ihn Abner und brachte ihn vor Saul, und er hatte des Philisters Haupt in seiner Hand.
58 And Saul said to him, Young man, whose son are you? And David in answer said, I am the son of your servant Jesse of Beth-lehem.
